Introduction

This guide will hopefully teach you what to build, and how to play Rengar top lane. I'm currently Gold I and main top lane. Right now Rengar is a VERYstrong and safe pick in Solo Queue during this meta and due to the new brush changes on Summoners Rift.

Runes: Page 1 - Squishies/Page 2 - Tanks

I prefer these runes because most high damage top lane champions scale off of physical damage. The armor runes provide you some protection from their starting damage, and the AD runes help you start with more Attack Damage so you can harass your opponent in lane, and possibly draw that oh so sweet first blood. The Lifesteal quintessences help you sustain and stay in lane longer.

Situational Items

Frozen Mallet
I would recommend building this item over Infinity Edge if you're team needs a little bit more tank, or if you just overall want more health on your champion.

Skills

Unseen Predator
Your passive is great for the new brush set up top lane. There are 3 of them now, use all of them to your advantage and become and Unseen Predator.
Savagery
Your Q is your most damaging ability. It's great way to poke down your enemy by leaping from the brush with your passive and taking a nice chunk out of his/her health bar. This ability is also able to be used on enemy Turrets, Inhibitors, and the Nexus. Great for taking away these objectives quickly.
Battle Roar
Your W is a nice source of AOE (Area Of Effect) damage and with 5 stacks of ferocity it is a great source of sustain in lane. If you're low use this ability with your ferocity rather than Savagery.
Bola Strike
Your E locks down enemy champions when you have 5 stacks of ferocity. Use this ability to your advantage, whether to escape ganks or secure kills. It is also a good source of damage, so if you're going against a ranged champion top lane it would be a smart idea to max this second.
Thrill of the Hunt
Your ultimate is great for juking your opponents or picking them off. If they push to far without vision, take advantage and kill them. Also, if you're winning lane its a good way to help out your teammates by roaming and helping them get a lead in their lane if they're struggling.

Early Game

Use your W for sustain, harass with E and Q, and farm. Use your Q with 4 stacks of Ferocity and get the double Q off on your enemy. This will either get you a kill, or make the enemy base.

Mid Game

You'll have damage, but focus the squishies to get and pick them off. Once you're fed the enemies will learn not to push either the easy way or the hard way.

Late Game

If your game is long enough and you get full build, then the game is over. You are debatably one of the strongest champions in League of Legends right now. Don't be afraid to roam and get kills with your ultimate. Do some backdooring if you see an opening. You will take tower EXTREMELY quickly.

Teamfights

In team fights focus their strongest champion and take them out. Sneak in with your ult and explode their source of damage. Once they're gone you have a huge advantage in the team fight.

Conclusion

Rengar is a fun champion, and due to the season 4 brush changes he is really strong. Go by the guide and you should have a good time. Have fun on the Rift, Summoners!

Also, there are 7 items shown in the build. The last two items (Frozen Mallet and Infinity Edge) are situational items. Depending on the enemy team composition, you would build either a Frozen Mallet or an Infinity Edge. It's my first guide, so sorry if it's a bit hard to understand due to my mistakes.
