Starting Items: I think
+ 3 Health Potions is a very good start on Nidalee, because it gives her early sustain + mana which you might need for Q's and E's.
is still a very strong start, but compared to a Flask start on Nidalee I find it obsolete.
Is also a completely viable start against someone with a weak early game for example: Nasus and Jax are two that come straight to mind.
Items To Try Out Section
With Bischu's Early-Mid game oriented build becoming quite popular, Guinsoo's Rageblade has come to the attention of a lot of Nidalee players, multiple players have been building items in this section, even though it is a troll-buy I will try them all and post my thoughts accordingly.
- This item makes you a COMPLETE terror early game, it will help you go into mid game with ease, and let you dominate, I have never used this item on her, and I will try it out eventually so say what it's exact pro's and con's are.
I feel like
need their own little paragraph on when to pick these up, honestly some Nidalee players prefer Trinity Force over Iceborn Gauntlet because they prefer a more carry-type build, but I will explain the proper time to pick up either of them.
: When against a laner with strong AD, or a team with at least 2 AD IMO, or if you have a weak CC team, this item will give you CC, CDR, mana, and A LOT of Armor. I feel like there is never a wrong time to buy this item if Armor is needed. This is also a good pick-up when you are behind in lane.
: Also another strong item on Nidalee, provides you with the capability to kite more, and chase even harder, but this item should be picked up if the enemy team has 2 or more people with AP. This item has its merits over to its Iceborn Gauntlet counterpart. It gives you more damage, and will give you the ability to carry way harder. Pretty much pick it up if you're snowballing like mad or need the extra damage for you, and your team, it also helps if you're a against a lane that will try to carry hard, so you can keep up in damage. I started building this item a lot more now. I would even go as far as to say it is a core item replacing IBG, it is really dependant though.
When Behind: These are some items that I feel work when you are behind. Note ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS
Build tank, or aim for as much gold efficiency as possible. While behind you are in no position to try to build to carry the game. Picking up a
Is not really a thing most Nidalee players do, but when you are behind this item can be a god send, same with a
the extra 380 HP in Lane can really help you survive an all-in and help you get back on your feet. I put a
In there because honestly the item is so gold efficient, that if you are only behind a kill or so in lane, if you pick one up just to try to get a little bit of strength it could go really well for you. Always try to go for gold efficiency.
Situational Items: I feel like they are not strong enough to be a complete core on Nidalee, although if you're against Vlad or Yorick or any AP lane I suggest getting a
in S3 used to be a very good item to buy on Top Laners if you haven't bought Merc Treads
. Not quite sure how viable Lanes buying this item is currently. I would suggest picking this up against a: Fiddlesticks, Rammus, Annie. Anyone with a long duration of disables, stuns, fears, roots, etc. This item will help you out big time.
is an item pretty similar to
when you look at it, this item could be a pick up if you have snowballed really far ahead, and want a free MS boost and some crit damage, I have never tried this, but I imagine it would be a sort of troll/fun item not to be built too often. The Armor Pen really matches will with Nidalee's auto-attacks, it is more of a pick up for a normals game, not really good for a competetive Nidalee build.
Frozen Mallet is an interesting item which can offer you the CC you might possibly need. I would call this a situational pick because your team might already have all the cc needed, and you can just pick up more tank items. I would pick this team up if you have a very low CC team, for example: Your Mid Lane is a Katarina (0 CC) You're clearly a Nidalee Top (0 CC) Jungler is a Shyvana (0 CC) The Frozen Mallet pick-up might give you some CC your team needs to help pick-up kills if you built a Trinity Force
Sunfire cape is a weird item for a Top Lane Nidalee IMO, it just delays your core item which is always a
based item, it can be picked up as a third or fourth item, but I feel like the passive is wasted on Nidalee, as she isn't always at the heart of a fight. It can be picked up if you went Trinity Force and for some odd reason you wouldn't rather a Randuin's Omen It is just personal prefference.
Is usually the second damage I would pick-up, this item is an amazing item for allowing you to duel people (especially ADC), Split push and kite. Usually you only rush this item against Shyvana and Mundo.
