I'm jaMx aka The unquiet mind. I'm Diamond 1 in Solo Q and this is my second time writing a guide for TSM. I hope that my guide is easy to understand and will show you guys how easy and powerful Kha'Zix really is. I got to Diamond 1 and learned the game by playing Nidalee. For a long time I played Nidalee exclusively, but during that time some champions stuck out to me as being particularly strong. Kha'Zixs was definitely one of those champions. Kha'Zhix has kill potential against most laners as early as level 2. He does Lee Sin Q damage, but doesn't require you to aim anything. I get a lot of kills everytime I play Kha'Zix. Kha'Zix can be slow to start at times, but his snowball potential is amazing! Even if you fall behind, no worries. Kha'Zix also has the ability to farm and catch up later in the game. Kha'Zix can even go invisible and run faster 3 times! He has a gigantic leap that resets on player kills. This champion is ridiculous.... because of his strength, he should be played by more summoners!

Kha'Zix was nerfed in season 3. After the changes, the metagame (most popular pro strategies) didn't fit him quite as well as other champions. Riot wanted Kha'Zix to be a strong assassin, but there were too many ways to counter his stealth. In season 3, oracles and pink wards made it difficult for Kha'Zix to use all three of his ultimates. In season 4, Riot discontinued oracles and made changes to pink wards. Pink wards are no longer invisible, so it's easier to avoid using stealth near them. Some trinkets can reveal champions, but they have a very long cooldown. The point is there aren't nearly as many stealth revealing items that come from the shop, which is an indirect buff to Kha'Zix. Season 4 will be very good for Kha'Zix and I highly recommend learning him. He has high single-target burst damage, mobility, gap closers, stealth, sustain, resets and can be played in tons of different ways. It seems like Kha'Zix has been forgotten about because of the E-W nerf, but I still think he deserves to be in the competetive spotlight and will be strong for Season 4.

Runes

Use armor seals because they make you more resilient to basic attacks from your laning opponent. Most junglers play champions that scale with Attack damage, so armor seals are generally the best choice. Armor seals also do a decent job of reducing damage against jungle minions. I usually choose flat armor seals every game, for every champion I play.

The Marks can be any combination of Attack damage (AD) and armor penetration. Teams that will build lots of armor will require armor penetration marks to do the most damage. AD marks are good against low armor teams and really helpful for last hitting minions.

I prefer flat scaling magic resistance glyphs to make me as tanky as possible for the early game if I'm against an AP champion. Early game is extremely important because it is when champions snowball the hardest. Dying to a Syndra or other assassin early in the game would be devastating. Prevent this from happening by dodging abilities and choosing flat magic resistance (MR) glyphs. Flat MR glyphs give you the most damage reduction against spells early game. You could choose MR per level against late game ap champions like Karthus and Ryze.

In season 4, there aren't many mastery choices for AD scaling champs. The 21 points shown will be the most commonly used for AD mid laners and ADCs. The other offensive mastery perks only benefit AP champions. Kha'Zix is an assassin and scales well with the Offensive tree. I usually don't choose more than 21 points in one tree, so that my secondary tree has a tier 2 mastery perk. Juggernaut is the best tier 2 defensive mastery perk. The extra health makes you tankier throughout the game. A bigger HP pool early means surviving an extra tick of ignite or another auto attack. Early kills are the most important, so I usually like to make sure I am always a good position to 1v1 or survive.

The other 9 points can be used in the Defensive or Utility Skill Tree. I prefer to put my points in defense to make me stronger early game. People underestimate the importance of high base stats. The utility page is still very good. Culinary mastery turns health pots into biscuits, so you wouldn't need a crystalline flask for mana regen. 21-0-9 would make Doran's blade + biscuit a very strong start. A lot of people like runic affinity, but I would rather have biscuits or 9 defense points than an extra 20 seconds on the 1-2 buffs I get that game.

For mid lane Kha'Zix the defense points are easy to figure out. Choose Enchanted Armor because it synergies with your Armor Seals. Block and Unyielding make you take less damage from basic attacks. Melee champions usually take a lot of basic attacks throughout the game, so I would definitely put points in it if you choose the defense tree. The mastery Tough Skin would only be good if you are going jungle kha'zix. I personally don't like the health regeneration mastery points.

Double-Edged Sword is a great mastery for kha'zix because you need to do as much damage as you can, so you can get a reset. Double-edge sword might not be the best choice against leblanc or other champions that have high early game kill potential.
Against champions that have high early game burst, you don't need to get Double-Edged Sword if you are concerned about the extra damage you receive.

Summoner Sets

Flash & Ignite
Flash + ignite is very good for Kha'Zix. The most overlooked benefit of ignite is the heal reduction. ADC's usually have LS quints + a vamp scepter. Life steal is vitally important to ADCs. Cutting the enemy ADC life steal by 50% will make them a lot easier to kill. Igniting your enemy between combos while the target is under 50% health is the most optimal way to use ignite. Taste Their Fear scales with the health they are missing post 6, so igniting him before your Q will give you more damage than Q->ignite.

Flash is a requirement on most champions. Flash is extremely important and needs to be used effectively. Flash can be used with Leap for an extended gap closer to finish a kill. Flash + Leap can also be used to escape most situations. Flash is important, but use it when you feel like its necessary. At the same time, don't be scared of wasting it. When in doubt, always use flash. It is possible to play safe and avoid fighting for the duration of flash cool down, but it is not possible to undo a death.

The health and mana pots will be biscuits if you choose the culinary master mastery point. Kha'Zix only has one gap closer that needs to be used wisely, so most ranged champions will auto attack you often. I suggest spamming your abilities and chugging your pots to cs and stay in lane early against high harass champions. This setup is also good when you have early kill potential because Kha'Zix has high mana cost abilities.

Kha'Zix has kill potential early in the game. The key is harassing the enemy the level before you want to all in. Level 4 is a very good time for an all in engage. If you want to go all in at level 4...harass at level 3. You should always be thinking how you can get your next kill as a mid laner. If you cant kill the person you are against find their jungler or gank one of the lanes. Red pot can be risky, but highly rewarding.

Alternative starting items could be doran shield or boots depending on the matchup. Boots are good for dodging pillars against Brand or Cho. Doran shield is good if you are going to tank a lot of basic attacks. I use Doran's shield against ADC's and ranged APC's that i can't kill early.

I added Build 4 because it's very good against squishy ranged ranged champions in lane. The extra movement speed and mana regeneration will allow you to spam your abilities and chase them to AA more frequently. I really like boots + 4 against Ahri, TF, Katarina and other champions that need to kite away from me.
Final Build(s)
Standard Final Items
This is the build I prefer to have for the end game. A common misconception about Kha'Zix is that you NEED muramana in order for kha'zix to be effective. Kha'Zix E-Q does a lot of damage and scales incredibly well with flat attack damage. I also suggested starting with a flask to help you manage your mana throughout the game. The best time to get tear would be against a champion that you have little kill potential against, but need mana for extended periods in lane. There are a lot of perfectly viable build orders and items for Kha'Zix. Flat AD is my preference because it gives Kha'Zix the highest possible e-q damage. Muramana provides a good mana pool, but is probably most effectively used on ranged champions that can use the active more often.

[u]What should I get for a 6th item?[/u]
You will rarely see me put a 6th item on my guides because I don't believe in a standard 6th item. Sometimes you need GA, othertimes Randuin, othertimes warmog or more damage. It is completely situational! The last item also makes my build order look awkward, so I leave it out. Look at what the other team has. Try to discern which type of damage they do the most of and build the ideal resistance.

I choose the stealth revealing trinket, so I can scan for wards while I'm in route for a gank.
Build Order
I get double Doran's blade in season 4 more because of the price reduction. Doran's blades scale well with the 9 defensive mastery points. The crystalline flask will cover your mana needs early and make you a scary bug early.

Brutalizer is good because a lot of APC's build seekers and most players use Armor seals. The early armor penetration and cdr are good thing to have on Kha'Zix.

Some players prefer Ravenous, some prefer blood thirster. I personally prefer blood thirster as my fist core item because it does the most damage to isolated targets, however most players pick ravenous hydra for the extra damage and fast wave clear. An unfarmed BT is weaker than a Ravenous Hydra, but a farmed BT scales much better on Kha'Zix than Hydra.

Sometimes after the boots of mobility you might need a giants belt in order to not get 1 shot by everything. This will not slow down your snowball and does not need to be developed into a full item until late. Mid game Giants belts are very good on Kha'Zix. Survivng initial burst is usually all Kha'Zix needs to finish a kill.

The 6th item can be a variety of different items. I generally don't like tri-force on kha'zix because his abilities scale much better with flat Attack damage. Building Guardian Angel on Kha'Zix a good choice because after he revives he can still get resets with leap and clean up a fight.

Other good items on Kha'Zix

Muramana
Tear is good on Kha'zix if the other team has heavy lane and tower preasure. A lot of champions can push Kha'Zix under the tower, which is okay if you can kill them. If you have no kill potential under your own tower, then it might be a good idea to get a tear and start clearing minions off of your tower to slow down the pace of the game. If you are ahead, then don't buy a tear. Buy high early scaling AD items and snowball! Buying tear off of first blood isn't very smart for Kha'Zix players.
Boots of Mobility
Using your ultimate with boots of mobility is a great way to get out of most situations. Boots of mobility will help you get into favorable fights as well. Kha'Zix does best when he is fighting with his team in skirmishes. The reset mechanic makes kha'zix so strong and boots of mobility will make sure that no one escapes.
Randuin's Omen
Randuin's Omen is very good against marksman because of the armor and active. If the ADC focuses you, his attack speed will be reduced. You will also be able to slow their movement speed with the active. Randuin's has a very good build path as well. I really like giants belt on assassin champions. Their natural damage is very high, but if the other team has excessive aoe then assassins have a hard time finishing high priority targets. Choosing to buy giants belt as your 3rd or 4th item will give you more time to tank damage while you are cc'd. Omen is good on kha'zix when your team is behind as well because you can initiate favorable fights. Even though the standard items does not include Randuin, I would still consider it a top item on Kha'Zix.
Tear of the Goddess
Overall, I don't think tear is nearly as strong Kha'Zix as flat damage. W does not do increased damage with the evolution, you can't cast it in the air, the cool down is long, the range is short. Tear is good if you want to spam W and sometimes you will need to do that. It is not the ideal build path. I recommend building flat damage and maxing Q first. You will get your resets faster and be a bigger threat the entire game.

You can start Q or W first. Generally I start W against ranged champions that are scary and Q against everything else. Max Q first for the highest possible single target damage. I will sometimes get a few intermediate points in W if I'm falling behind. Leveling E will give you increased range on your jump, so always get at least 2-3 points in it before level 16. Getting additional points in W provides more damage, but evolving W does not increase damage or Range to Void Spike. Evolving Q first is generally the best option. Some players evolve W first to wave clear and farm, which is perfectly viable. I prefer evolving Q first and roaming. I'm a huge advocate for making plays.

Choosing the correct skill to evolve isn't hard!

Unseen Threat
His passive makes you deal more damage to isolated targets. To retrigger the passive you just have to make it so the other team can't see you. The passive icon is displayed above your skills if unseen threat is up. Unseen threat has no cooldown, so the best kha'zix players will constantly reset their passive by running into bushes or fog of war. Remember that fog of war resets the Kha'Zix passive as well.

Additional notes on passive:
His passive synergies well with the sweeper trinket. If you are in lane and bush doesn't reset your passive then you know it is warded. Use your passive to clear the ward and gain vision advantage. Also be careful of pink wards because they will prevent your ultimate from resetting passive. Pink wards negating the resets on his passive ultimately reduces Kha'Zix damage. Avoid using the stealth in pink ward range if possible.

Some ways to reset passive
-Reset passive by walking behind the wall near your tower, doesn't work if you are being pushed
-Walk far enough back that fog of war makes you no longer visible to the other team
-Activate ultimate
-The passive is always up until you hit a champion. Once you use your passive on a champion you must leave vision for it to reset. It's very easy to reset the passive. When your passive is up you can a lot of damage with e-q-Auto Attack-w-Auto Attack
Taste Their Fear
Maxing Q first does the most damage. It has the lowest cooldown and should be evolved first. Once Kha'Zix evolves his Q, it gets more range and does more damage. Kha'Zix can't leap and void spike while in the air anymore, but taste your fear does damage mid air and should be used that way.

EVOLVE THIS FIRST
Void Spike
Void spikes get nerfed hard a few patches ago, but I think it was for the better. If you cast Void Spikes in melee range you will get some health back. Void spikes is still pretty good and has helped me come back from poor starts. I evolve W second if I won't be able to make an impact in the early game. If you start 0-5...maxing W second and farming is much smarter strategy than evolving your leap second and hoping you get a reset.

EVOLVE THIS SECOND IF YOU ARE FAILING HARD...you will have to choose between this and void assault for a third option in most cases.
Leap
Use Leap as your primary escape and gap closer. Use this skill with discernment. While your leap is on cooldown you are very vulnerable against ranged champions, so try to save it as long as you can. Initiating into a full HP team with Leap isn't the best idea. Use your leap to catch targets that stray away from the team or overextend. Evolve E second if you are doing well in the first 20 minutes of the game. The evolved leap will make it so leap resets after a kill. Again, you can use Taste Their Fear while in mid air during Leap. If you are granted a reset, you can leap a second time before ever hitting the ground. If you are going to engage, try to always use your Q while in mid air to do maximum damage. After you land you will immediately be able to auto attack, which will apply the passive. Continue to attack attack and Q your target. If you have your ultimate, use your ultimate to reapply a slow to your auto attack. A mildly fed kha'zix can destroy a very fed ADC if the Kha'Zix rotates his abilities slowly and utilizes the stealth in void assault.

I like to either max this ability second to give me maximum gap closer or put skill points in Leap and Void Spike at the same rate. The more fed I am, the faster I max Leap. A few points in void spikes early is never bad.

EVOLVE THIS SECOND IF YOU OR YOUR TEAM IS GOING HAM...3rd if you are failing
Void Assault
Always get points in your ultimate, even if you don't play on evolving void assault. Evolving void assault is probably the best third skill to evolve because it grants you an additional stealth and makes you a lot more tanky. I haven't played much tanky kha'zix, but a high mana tank kha'zix with tripple ult might be a very mobile/tanky target.

I wouldn't evolve void assault if you evolved void spike early.

EVOLVE THIS THIRD IF YOU ARE OR TEAM GOING HAM...not at all if you evolved W second

Champion Matchups

I do really well in this matchup because I have no problem dodging the taunt. During the lane phase, only walk up to the minions when you are going to kill them. You can trade really well against ahri if she doesn't build early armor. If Ahri wastes abilities clearing her wave punish her by e-q-aa-w. Gap closers are very strong against ahri pre-6.
Fizz

Kha'Zix needs to be very aggressive to win this lane. If Kha'Zix lets Fizz combo him and E away freely he will far behind and potentially die to op fizz. I suggesst using your Q on him as many times as possible. Everytime he comes up to CS -Q his ass. Don't let him farm or play games with you. Go ham. Start with dorans blade and an HP pot or red pot. Whatever you feel most comfortable with to have an early advantage over fizz. The more aggressive player usually wins this late. Remember late game fizz is literally late game fizz....being stronger than fizz should be your primary goal throughout the game.
Kassadin

Kha'Zix and most other AD assassins do extremely well against kassadin. If kassadin rift walks into melee range to silence Kha, the kha'zix can life steal and finish him off with the abilities when the silence wears off. Kha'Zix also has a huge in lane advantage because kassadin has low kill potential. Before level 6 kassadin is very vulnerable to ganks and aggression. Your main goal against kassadin is to shut him down for the entire duration of the game. Find him everytime and kill him everytime. Don't let him snowball or ever be apart of the game. Kassadin snow balls can start with 40 cs and 2 kills at 30 minutes into the game. His kit is very good and creates big problems with his map presence. It's a big lane assignment, but kha'zix is awesome at denying kassadins early game and making his pre6 miserable.
Leblanc

Kha'Zix does pretty well against leblanc if you aren't afraid. Most leblanc players will try to be fancy and combo you with q-w. The best way to counter this is jump on him while his W is down. Leblanc cooldowns are fairly long and she is very weak against gap closers when her W is down. If she over extends after a combo go HAM. Don't e-q walk away. e-q-auto attack-auto attack-auto attack-auto attack make them run! If you can dodge chains you will win exhanges and probably beat him. Hex drinker is very strong against Leblanc, but I'd still get a few doran's blades early. Try to stay at high HP when fighting against leblanc and pushing her minion wave to force her to use spells to cs is good as well. The matchup is difficult, but I like Kha'Zix over Leblanc for most situations.
Nidalee

Nidalee is pretty easy for Kha'Zix to kill. The key to killing a Nidalee is not stepping on a trap so your passive is able to reset when you ultimate. Before you are level 6 you can easily engage on Nidalee and do lots of damage. Around level 4 if the Nidalee player isn't careful you should be able to get a kill. Harass her a lot so she wastes her mana on primal surge. Her heal is a high mana cast spell and she doesn't get that much health back. Always dodge her spears and don't be afraid to get a banshees viels for a 4th item.
Riven

I have a saying..."every riven player is the same" Now I don't mean Diamond 1 and Bronze players are similar with riven, but the aggression and playstyle is generally the same. They will E-Q-Q-W-Q at every moment they have. Knowing ths I can usually bait a few combos out and return harass while the Riven's abilities are on cooldown. Generally, Riven is going to give you a hard time in this matchup. I recommend possibly starting with cloth armor and 21-9 masteries
Syndra

Syndra and Kha'Zix both have high kill potential. Before level 6, I think Kha'Zix will do more damage if you enegage her straight on. Kha'Zix has a lot of instant damage, so if you can get them low health with a Flash+e+q you might be able to kill syndra before level 6. After level 6, you will always need to be careful of her ultimate. I recommend building a hexdrinker if you intend on fighting syndra a lot. If you prefer to roam you can build hex drinker, b-viel or even spirit vissage later in the game. I wouldn't rush tear against syndra especially when you are are behind. Syndra's stun is very long range and if she lands her stun she will be able to stun you from long range and finish you off with her ult under tower.
Twistedfate

Kha'Zix does extremely well against Twisted Fate. You might have a little bit of a trouble early from w-q harass. I would get a crystalline flask against TF I try to stay at a safe distance from TF until I have to approach the lane and kill a minion. Let him push your lane until around level 4. The minions will reset under your tower then you can probably all in engage and kill him. Throughout most of the game kha'zix will be able to kill TF. Just make sure you keep good awareness on where TF is and which lanes are most likely to get ganked. Kha'Zix is great for cleaning up messy TF dives. Max Q first. I would evolve E second because most TF teams are squish.
Xerath

Xerath is strong against melee AD champions. He has a lot of range, but can be beaten if you can dodge his skills. Kha'Zix does a great job of taking advantage of other players mistakes. Xerath is a high skill champion with a ton of range. He lacks mobility and is weak against gap closers. Ganks are very strong against Xerath pre 6. Once Xerath hits level 6, be careful of his ultimate. If your jungler ganks for you after level 6, make sure you don't both get caught in his ultimate. Kha'Zix is pretty challenging to his with multiple skill shots because of his stealth and leap. This match up mainly depends on the player, but Xerath will usually have the upper hand. Roam when you can.

Early Game

During the early game Kha'Zix abilities seem to use up a ton of mana. This problem definitely goes away with a blue buff, but this problem makes Crystalline Flask a strong starting item for Kha'Zix. Chances are you will be taking a lot of harass from ranged champions and spamming your abilities. Refreshing Crystalline flask 3-4 times and then selling it saves a lot of gold in the long run. Crystalline Flask does not make it impossible for Kha'Zix to play aggressively. Crystalline actually enables Kha'Zix to e-q-aa more times in lane than any other starting item. Using his abilities multiple times in lane is much better than getting the early scaling from a long sword or red pot. If you can swing a first blood with the other two because Kha'Zix definitely has early game kill potential, then go for it!

Kha'Zix won't be able to help leash because he is melee. Some junglers will complain that you didn't help them, but mid lane melee champions should not help leash buffs. I usually start with Q first and start pushing my lane right away. AA each of the front line minions a few times to push your wave a little bit. The goal is to to get level 2 before your laning opponent. If you hit level 2 while they are level 1 then you definitely want to engage with E-Q and AA him a few times. With the slow from Kha'Zix passive, following E-Q, you should be able to get 1-2 AA's without tanking a tower shot.

Generally, in lane you want to avoid taking auto attack harass from champions. At the same time, you want to try to use your Q-AA whenever you can. If you don't have to use your Leap to Q them that is a huge +++++++ Using your Q to harass is very good, especially if you can do it without taking any damage in return. Your basic goals of level 6 are an early kill if you feel comfortable or csing until you hit level 6.

Mid Game

EVOLVE Q FIRST

Mid game starts when you hit level 6.

Evolving Q first turns you into the assassin that kha'zix was designed to be. Evolved Enlarged Claws: Deals bonus physical damage equal to 8% of the target's missing Health (can be increased by isolation, max 200 vs. monsters). Increases the range of Taste Their Fear and Kha'Zix's basic attacks by 50. Dealing bonus damage based on missing health turns Taste Their Fear into a very strong execution ability. Don't just focus on the person you are laning against. Try to monitor the health bars of all the enemy champions. Kha'Zix is amazing at roaming and should trying to find kills once he hits level 6. Level 6 is a huge power spike for kha'zix and Doran's Blade adds to his Mid game scaling. Doran blades are inexpensive and great for filling item places.

Generally, when you are playing Kha'Zix or any AD scaling mid laner you want to try to steal the other teams buffs. Kha'Zix is very strong in the jungle because of his ability to spam his passive + jump over walls for an escape. Coordinate with the jungler to contest their blue buff at 7:05. Stealing buffs puts a lot of preasure on the other team. The jungler gets behind because of the lost shared experience and the mid laner will miss out on blue buff. I usually try burst the enemy jungler down if he is overly focused on stealing the blue buff. If you have ignite at this point with evolved Q, the jungler is very vulnerable to Kha'Zix burst.

Kha'Zix has a huge power spike at level 6. If you are against a soft laner like Nidalee and can get level 6 before they do, then you can probably kill them from 90% HP or lower on an all in engage. Otherwise push your lane out and roam bottom. The level 6 advantage over level 4 supports is very important. I generally roam bottom by taking the more agressive route through the jungle because it is warded less often.

Kha'Zix gets another power spike at level 11 when he gets his second evolution. Choose your evolution based on the flow of the game. Leap is the best choice if the fights are close. Evolved Leap doesn't help if your team is getting steam rolled. If your team is losing and the game is spiralling out of control, then evolve Void Spikes second. Void Spikes will help you wave clear and defend your tower. Stalling out games is an effective strategy in losing efforts. Early team gold advantage is extremely important. Being ahead by an item in lane can be devastating. In team fights, being behind an item isn't that big of an issue. Your team can still chain all of their abilities together and easily pick off a target that over extends. Kha'Zix kills adcs very effectively. He is an assassin and your mindset should be to play like an assassin. Sneak through the jungle, kill the target when they are alone and stealth away.

Late Game

Kha'Zix final late spike happens at level 16. Choose our third evolution. Make sure you evolve leap third if you evolved e/q first. If you evolved Q and E first then you will have to choose between evolving W and R. W, (Void Spikes) evolution is great for team comps that don't have any wave clear. It provides your team with a little bit more poke and is a good farming utility. If you prefer evolving Void Spikes, then I would recommend building Blood Thirster to do maximum poke damage. Evolving R (Void Assault) improves Kha'Zix stealth mechanic. Evolved Active Camouflage: Void Assault can be cast three times. Kha'Zix takes 50% reduced damage while in stealth. 50% damage reduction is amazing in team fights. Leap + Randuin and Active camoflage is a great way to start team fights for teams that are lacking engage. Use the leap to engage, and Q the high priority target. Use your randuin and stealth immediately back toward your team. Chances are the other team will waste a lot of abilitys that deal 1/2 the damage that they should do. This type of initiation can be very good if you can survive and re-engage to clean up the fight with resets.

Late game kha'zix is extremely strong if the other team doesn't stick together. His skills can instantly take down targets that don't build any items that have armor or HP. In team fights, I generally let the fight go on for a while before joining in and assassinating 1/2 hp high priority targets. Focus the squishiest targets first. Late game kha'zix can quickly assassinate supports and switch to the ADC. I generally don't engage on another assassin champion or APC unless their abilities are on cool down. Kha'Zix has extremely high burst and can escape by taking little damage. Auto attack as many times as you can in a fight, but if you are getting focused by multiple people then escape and re-engage.

Kha'Zix is a reset champion. Find the targets that die the fastest and try to kill that person before they can use their abilities. The best time to engage is when you can get a reset so you can jump again to the best position. If you are getting focused during a team fight pop your ultimate and wait as long as possible before attacking again. Recast the ultimate again for the final gap closer or escape.

Teamfights

Team fights can be overwhelming. There is so much going on in a team fight. Team fights are also the least practiced skill in LoL. Even in the most competetive games there might be 2-3 team fights that last 20 seconds each. It happens so so quickly! I have a few different ways Kha'Zix can effectively team fight.

In team fights try to focus the ADC as your primary target. Kha'Zix does exceptionally well against ADCs because the stealth mechanic prevents ADCs from life leaching and sustaining missing health back. Kha'Zix can't be ignored by ADCs because his burst is too high. His biggest strength is fighting against ADCS. Use his stealth to give you time to use your abilities as many times as possible. Don't trade more than 1 auto attack with him between stealths to reactivate your passive and you will definitely beat an ADC in a 1v1. The stealth also gives Kha'Zix more time to wait for his skills to come off of cooldown. Use taste their fear on the lowest health target in the fight.

Kha'Zix is also good against ADC's because they generally only have one escape mechanism. Ezreal for example, only has his arcane shift to get away from Kha'Zix. Be smart and try to bait the Ezreal to use his Arcane Shift before using your leap. Kha'Zix is really scary, so once you get in leap range he will probably try to jump away. If he saves his Arcane shift use your Taste their Fear and stealth until he Arcane Shifts away. Use leap to follow up the Marksmans escape mechanic and finish the kill. Kha'Zix is an assassin and does way more damage than ADCs unless they have a huge item advantage. Late game, if you have 250+ AD, you are definitely a threat to ADCs in 1v1.

I don't choose the APC as my first target unless I can kill them before they deal damage. A team fight can broken down simply by looking at the total health vs total damage. If you can deny the enemy APC from dealing their 3k damage in a fight, then you have a greater chance of winning the fight. Chances are that if you engage on an APC you will both die. This isn't a terrible thing if the APC is a more valuable target and your team can win a 4v4. But, if you are a strong bug, focus the ADC because he will most likely contribute the most damage in a long team fight. Patience is the key to team fighting with Kha'Zix. The build makes you very squishy, so you will need to try to find isolated targets to execute and leap away.

Kha'Zix also has a gap closer, speed boost, and procs multiple slows if you auto attack between each time you press R. His kit gives you a lot of options and ways to kill the other team. The reason Kha'Zix is playable at all divisions is because of his reset mechanic. Fighting with favorable odds is a great way to win with Kha'Zix. Evolving R is usually the right choice for a third evolution. At level 16, assuming you evolved Q and E first, only evolve W in desperate situations where it doesn't seem like your team has a chance to win. Evolving W second can slow down the pace of the game. But if you evolve W second, then make sure evolve your Leap third. The reset on Leap is too important to bypass and makes Kha'Zix very powerful.

Increased Damage Against Isolated Targets

Always remember that Kha'Zix does the most damage against targets that are alone. Think like an assassin. Try to sneak around Summoners rift and find targets that are greedy farming alone. Use your passive as often as possible to do the most damage. The passive has zero cool down, so walking in and out of a brush that your enemy has no vision on will reset the passive. The passive procs more damage and a slow. It's very powerful. Don't forget about it! Using your passive effectively is very important.

Against an ADC or support, use your stealth to prevent taking damage from the adc. Stealth can also be used as an escape mechanism or gap closer. Kha'Zix has a great kit and can be used in a lot of different ways. Use your Q as many times as you can, using stealth sparingly will keep you alive long enough to use Q 2-3 times, depending on the scenario.

Melee AA Mechanics

Melee champions have a different AA mechanic than ranged champions. If you are chasing a ranged champion don't just right click him. Try to right click in the same path he is going and press A + left click when your auto attack is off of cooldown. The cooldown between auto attacks is about 1 second. Clicking around your target between auto attack will make you keep up with your prey easier. It will also make you more difficult to hit with skill shots. The optimal path for chasing will bring you through bushes so you can constantly reset your passive. Practice walking around between auto attacks on minions. I click 3-5 times between each auto attack. Just don't be excessive and cancel your auto attacks. Don't miss cs to become more mobile. This mechanic is definitely important and should be worked on by players that prefer melee champions.

Conclusion

Kha'Zix is extremely powerful, but his abilities are not difficult to use. He works best when fighting with favourable numbers (4v3, 3v2, etc.) His reset mechanic makes him pick up multiple kills at a time with ease after you evolved Leap, so if you are doing well prioritize the Leap evolution . Players with an assassin mindset will do the best with Kha'Zix. Assassins do not suicide. Assassins quickly kill their targets and escape. Trading kills with kha'zix is okay, but building a level advantage is the true secret to winning with Kha'Zix. Don't be afraid to dive after you evolved your leap. The leap range is very big and leap can be recast before hitting the ground. Kha'Zix is very fun and needs to be played by more people. Good luck!

Personaly i always start Q first. It makes the first fight VERY <---- easy and i get first blood almost every match (no im not playing against noobs im gold)

I understand your criticism as W does more damage than E, but the increased range on leap is really beneficial when fighting ADCs. I also commented that maxing w second is perfectly viable. I think each skill is situation and maxing them depends on how you are doing in the game, team comp, enemy team comp etc. The leap range is ideal against cait because of her range, but might not be as good against a vayne or graves.
