Introduction

Yasuo is an AD assassin that benefits heavily from critical chance and is meant to be built similar to an AD carry. This makes him a very fragile champion, but allows him to snowball very well with his high damage early game and mid game.

Runes

AD marks/quints makes Yasuo's early game stronger and the one crit rune makes for some silly damage on the off-chance that a crit lands.

Armor and magic resist runes are standard for most match-ups.

0 Utility
21/9/0 is the best mastery page for Yasuo. Take all the AD based masteries and avoid the weaving masteries as Yasuo's main damage will be from his autos and Qs, with his Qs actually counting for basic attacks. The Frenzy mastery is extremely useful due to the amount of crits Yasuo gets and the attack speed even helps to lower the cooldown on the Q.

The couple points of Defense helps to supplement Yasuo's low defensive stats and be slightly tankier.

Summoner Sets

Ignite & Flash
Ignite and Flash are standard summoner spells for Yasuo with Ignite being important for securing kills.

Item Builds

Starting Build(s)
Doran's Blade
Doran's Shield
Doran's Blade start is ideal for against mages and most champions. The extra AD allows you to play aggressively and constantly harass with Q.

Doran's Shield is an option if you aren't comfortable in a match-up and are looking to play a bit more passive. This is decent against any of the high harass champions or any AD carries that go mid.

The Warding Trinket is there just for a bit of extra safety while laning.
Final Build(s)
Standard Final Items
Statikk Shiv is the perfect Yasuo item. Movespeed helps to proc the shield quicker and chase targets. The crit chance is doubled with Yasuo's passive. The attack speed lowers the cooldown of Q and the lightning proc helps to do a bit of extra damage. The only downside is that without another damage item, Statikk Shiv tapers off after the mid game.

Infinity Edge solves much of Yasuo's damage problems. The crit chance and crit damage combined with the bonus attack damage equates to tons of damage.

Last Whisper is an option at this point if you're looking for more damage.

Guardian Angel is eventually built to survive fights. Decide whether you want damage or survivability after the Infinity Edge is done.

Merc Treads is generally the preferred boots of choice, although Ninja Tabi are an option against an AD heavy line-up.

Situational Items

Blade of the Ruined King
Blade of the Ruined King is excellent for sticking to targets and provides the lifesteal needed for constantly pushing. I typically prefer the extra damage that crit provides, so I tend to skip Blade.
The Bloodthirster
Bloodthirster is another good item for later into the game. This provides more overall damage than BoRK, but less utility.
The Brutalizer
Brutalizer is excellent early on, especially against strong laners that Yasuo has trouble with in all-ins (Riven especially). The early spike in damage that Brutalizer provides will help ease in to the Statikk Shiv later on.
Hexdrinker
Hexdrinker is great against any of the mages that Yasuo has trouble fighting 1v1 against or just has a ton of burst in general.
Quicksilver Sash
Quicksilver Sash is needed against certain champions with long duration CCs, suppressions or other annoying status effects (Warwick, Malzahar, Mordekaiser, Fiddlesticks, Rammus, etc.)
Randuin's Omen
Randuin's Omen provides lots of nice tanky stats and is typically better if the enemy team's magic damage is lacking.

Skill Order

Way of the Wanderer
QSteel Tempest
WWind Wall
ESweeping Blade
RLast Breath
Maxing Steep Tempest first is very standard. The extra damage and lower cooldown that Q provides per level is very useful and provides the most damage.

Maxing Sweeping Blade second is slightly situational. While in most situations, the lower cooldown and more spamability on the dash is preferred, against champions with lots of ranged projectile spells can make a few points in Wind Wall very attractive.

Skills

Way of the Wanderer
Very strong passive. The bonus shield it provides is extremely relevant throughout the game. The shield charges up quickly as you move around and the shield will only proc on a champion or jungle monster attack (towers and minions do not proc it).

The passive also doubles your critical chance, but reduces the critical damage by 10% (from 200% to 190%).
Steel Tempest
Steel Tempest is basically an AoE auto attack that hits in a lane at where your cursor is pointed at. Playing a few games with Yasuo will help you get the hang of the range.

After two successful hits of Steel Tempest on any enemy, it will change the next Q into an AoE tornado. There is a rather noticeable delay for this attack versus a normal proc (and it will become un-smartcasted under default settings). The tornado has a large range and is the only way for Yasuo to activate his own ultimate.

It is also possible to use Steel Tempest while using Sweeping Blade, which turns the AoE of Q into a circle (this also works for a knock-up on the third usage of Q). Steel Tempest will only activate towards the end of the Sweeping Blade dash and may cause you to overshoot targets that are extremely close to the origin of the dash.
Wind Wall
Wind Wall blocks all enemy projetiles, except for turret shots. This works for enemy autoattacks and spells, including the many projectile ultimate in the game.

Note: This mainly blocks skillshots/projectiles, meaning stuff like Annie's Incinerate (Cone AoE) and Tibbers aren't blocked, so keep that in mind.

Also, Wind Wall has a set range, this functions very differently from Anivia's wall and can make it hard to use. This means that you need to aim a bit away from Yasuo in order to get the wall in a spot that you want it in. I don't suggest using smartcast for this spell for the first few games that you play him as you will use the wall in suboptimal spots.
Sweeping Blade
Very low cooldown dash. You may only dash to a target once per few seconds, but you can dash to as many targets as you so choose.

Effective usage of Sweeping Blade in lane includes dashing onto an enemy for a few attacks and then dashing back to a distant minion to get away. Quick reflexes with Sweeping Blade will allow you dodge a lot of enemy spells.
Last Breath
Last Breath is a conditional ultimate that will only work if there is a champion that is airborne. Any time an enemy champion is airborne, there will be a small text beneath that champion that lets you know.

Some spells have a much longer airborne time than others, so following up quickly is extremely important (Vi's ult has more than a second of airborne time, while her Q has only a fraction of a second, but both are acceptable prerequisites for Last Breath).

Champion Matchups

Brand
Difficulty
Favors Enemy
Brand is an annoying match-up, even though his spells are fairly easy to dodge. Brand will aim to spam E whenever available, aim to go in the moment his spells are down, especially if you are at full HP.

An early Hexdrinker/Brutalizer is recommended for stronger dueling potential.

Spells that Wind Wall blocks: Q, R
Gragas
Difficulty
Favors You
Melee champions are fairly easy for Yasuo's laning. Each time Gragas tries to last hit with his autoattack, you can use your Q to poke him. You have two ways to dodge Gragas' Barrels, look to abuse your mobility in this match-up.

An early Hexdrinker/Brutalizer is recommended for stronger dueling potential.

Spells that Wind Wall blocks: Q, R
Kassadin
Difficulty
Favors You
Kassadin isn't a tough lane, but he will outscale Yasuo if you don't pressure him hard early on. Constantly aim to harass with Q and autoattacks as Kassadin can't retaliate early on.

Spells that Wind Wall blocks: Q
Kayle
Difficulty
Favors Enemy
Kayle is weak in the early levels, but she has the potential to chunk your damage. Since she doesn't have any skillshots, E isn't very effective against her, meaning that only Wind Wall can block her main nuke.

Play extremely aggressive whenever E is down and use Q to push up early and pressure her.

Spells that Wind Wall blocks: Q
Khazix
Difficulty
Favors Enemy
Khazix is very strong if you fight him while away from minions. Be very careful when using your E as you may put yourself into a bad position. Don't even bother taking a point in W at level 4 in this match-up, as W isn't worth blocking since Khazix will max Q.

Spells that Wind Wall blocks: W
Leblanc
Difficulty
Favors You
Leblanc has a hard time landing her spells on you if you have quick reflexes. Always try to trade when your Wind Wall is up and pressure her in the early levels. Her spells has a high mana cost and don't do much damage early on.

Spells that Wind Wall blocks: Q, E (and Ult version of them)
Orianna
Difficulty
Favors You
Orianna is extremely annoying in the first few levels, but with a couple levels, you'll be able to out-trade her, especially if you dodge her spells using your dash. Play aggressively and aim to make her use up her mana in the early levels when her spells do the least amount of damage.

Spells that Wind Wall blocks: Q
Riven
Difficulty
Favors Enemy
Riven is stronger than Yasuo in the early and mid game, but Yasuo will scale better with items. It's impossible to juke Riven's spells and only the active portion of her ultimate can be blocked. Your best bet is to play aggressive from level 1-3, but stop playing aggressive the moment she gets a few levels. Her all-in is incredibly strong and she is very hard to gank until you have your ultimate.

Spells that Wind Wall blocks: R (active)
Syndra
Difficulty
Favors You
Syndra's spells aren't blocked by Wind Wall until she has her ultimate. Play aggressive early on and use E to dodge her spells as best as you can. You can out-trade her with the usage of your passive. At level 6, only play aggressive when Wind Wall is up and use it to block her ultimate the best you can.

Spells that Wind Wall blocks: R
Ziggs
Difficulty
Favors You
Ziggs has a hard time landing his spells with the amount of mobility and Wind Wall. Use E to weave through minions and bait out Ziggs' spells and constantly be aggressive. It's okay to miss a few spells as long as you dodge Ziggs' spells as he will run out of mana quickly.

Spells that Wind Wall blocks: Q, W, E, R

Commentary

Laning

Yasuo's laning is one of the best. The combination of poke, shield and a dash allows him to win most trades. While Yasuo is easy to gank when minions are not nearby, he is very slippery for skillshot champions and can weave in and out of a minion wave.

Teamfights

One of the biggest problems for assassins is their difficulty to enter the fight, but Yasuo has a very interesting conditional dash in his ultimate. If your team has any sort of knock-up (Vi ult, Nautilus ult, Nami ult, etc.), Yasuo can instantly teleport to the victims and with his E and Flash can chase and kill any target.

Conclusion

Yasuo is a very difficult champion. His reliance on knowing match-ups and sharp reflexes makes him very weak in inexperienced hands and very strong in those that have mastered his kit.

overall good guide but i noticed some downsides . The build is kinda weird cause yasuo needs sustain , LW is suational i think you should buy it only they stack armor or your team is FULL AD ! 3 items (botrk, statik,IE) is enough to DPS , also BOTRK procs the Q, Yasuo become a killer of tanks with it and its good for objectives like nashor ! personnaly i go : berz)botrk)statik)IE)bansheens or randuin(I don't like Spirit visage cause i think CDR is useless on yasuo(only for W and ult wich also has low CD)et 20% self healing is not worth enough even after the nerfs bansheens seems still worth to get)) and GA.
IN masteries the 5% bonus AD is not worth as yasuo won't have many AD in late game , he relie on crit and AS mostly (like 300 AD : you gain 15 AD i dont think its worth cause the game will be over before the late game often) i prefer the 2 combos points AA+SPELL or SPELL+AA!In runes i like 5 crit chance in marqs and 1 seal of crit,in seals i prefer HP/perLVL against AP and AD quints , AS is more oriented late game or in the jungle, the rest of the marqs AD too!I think mercs trade is good ,i try zephyr but when you see the stats i dont think is good enough , yasuo is a melee he needs more mobility :10% CDR(useless) 50%(its not wasted is good but already Q is capped)25AD(really low) and 35%tenacity is good , i think Mercs is the key but in early game you can purchase berz boots and sell it later for those! GOOD GUIDE KEEP UP anyway I hope you'll think of my thoughs and cons ! ty

Can you give me tips on how should I fight Fizz in the lane matchups?

I got a penta! :D
This build is amazing, but i think as another item that should be used is a hydra because of the life steal and attack damage. A situational item would be Merc treads because they reduce hard cc that can counter Yasuo.
