Introduction

Hi, I always looking for a nice counterpick list and the best I found was this one:

some of you may know this and realized, it is old and akali was OP at this time. After someone picked GP to counter Pantheon, I decide to write this guide.

Every chapter will look like:
-> Strength (why enemy picked this champ or why he is good, maybe why to ban him)
-> Weakness (whats bad at this champ, why I dont pick him)
-> How to Counter (the ways how to counter)
-> What Items (if this champ is fed already or is a problem for you)
-> Counterpicks (what should I pick)

What will I tell here?

I will tell for every champ why thei are strong, how to counter them and give some example Champs and Items. This may help you to decide what to pick in champion selection, but dont say like: I must play malphite, cause enemies have tryn solotop, and you never played malphite befor. You must remember, that being able to play a champ is worth more than a counterpick and a counterpick is worth more than Tier list. So make your own decision and dont flame your mates for not picking a counterpick or picking a tier 3 champ.

Abbreviations

In this guide I will use some abbreviations. Usually you should know them so skip this chapter, but if you dont know, you can check them here:

AA <=> Auto Attack
AD <=> Attack Damage
ADC <=> AD Carry
AoE <=> Area of Effect (skills with area dmg instead of single target)
Atmogs <=> Atmas+Warmogs +
AP <=> Ability Power
CC <=> Crowd Control (anything that disables enemies dmg, like stun, slow, silence, blind, etc)
CD <=> Cooldown
CS <=> Creep Stats (Lasthits, in games like Dota it means Creepkills+Creepdenies)
DPS <=> Dmg Per Second
FoN <=> Force of Nature
MIA <=> Missing in Action (you cant see the enemy who used to be on your lane)
MRes/MR <=> Magic Resistance
MS <=> Movement Speed
RoA <=> Rod of Ages
SS <=> Miss (enemy champ is not on your lane anymore, allies may know then he comes for a gank or getting a buff)
QSS <=> Quicksilver Sash

Ahri



Strength:
-> Hard cc
-> Low CD's
-> High Sustain
-> mobility with Ultimate

Weakness:
-> Mainly skillshots
-> not the best nuker
-> average range

How to counter:
Ahri cant deal dmg if you dodge her skillshots, so it is important to have high mobility, also some cc like hold/silence/stun is good, that ahri cant escape with her ultimate. Cooldown ultimate: 80/70/60s, might be good to know, when ultimate is down, that jungler can gank easy.

Items:
Once Ahri is fed, you will need MRes. Often used is Banshee's Veil, cause it blocks a spell, this is very usefull against Ahri, if she always open up with her taunt. But there are many champs who have low cd spells to destroy that spellshield, so take care if enemies got many spamskills. An other good MRes item is FoN, cause it gives you bonus 8% MS. If you can react faster than Ahri you can use QSS

Counterpicks:
: fast and can stun
: high sustain, even more than ahri. most times tanky build so you can survive ahri combo, slow+hold as cc.

Akali



Strength:
-> Invisibility
-> Gapcloser with low CD
-> high burst dmg
-> sustain from passive

Weakness:
-> Melee range (burst)
-> got many nerfs
-> can be detected
-> only cc is a slow

How to counter:
Akali is an assassin, but often build with rylai's, so you cant kill her with 2 basic attacks, while not in stealth. But Stealth is only in a small area, she will be visible when she leaves this area and if not she recives dmg from AoE effects or skillshots. So the ways to kill her is either make her visible (stealth detection) or have AoE's.

Items:
Akali will deal mainly magic dmg, so the best way is to get Mres if akali can kill you too easy. But if you want to kill her and you have money or survive long enauph you have to get Oracle. If you buy Oracle Akali will try to kill you, cause you are a threat and you spend 400 Gold. You can build almost every Mres item, but I would say dont build QSS or Banshee's, cause their passive's are almost useless against akali.

Counterpicks:
: ulti/stun are nice AoE's
: nice AoE's with huge range
: spin to win when she is stealthed, otherwise silence her
: stealth detection
: stealth detection
: nice AoE, shield to absorb some dmg

Alistar



Strength:
-> high amount of cc, also AoE
-> tanky with ultimate
-> high base stats

Weakness:
-> Vulnerable to true damage
-> Melee
-> no steroids for carry

How to counter:
Alistar is often used as Supporter, if so he used to play aggressive. So take care if he comes too close. If he uses his ultimate he recive less physical/magical dmg, so only true dmg can hurt him. If he is roamer/jungler you need to buy some wards. Where you place the wards you can read in any guide about supporter/roamer/warding/whatever.

Items:
Wards to deny kills while roaming, and anything to increase your true dmg (AS on vayne, CD on Olaf/Cho). Also Banshee's Veil helps, that Alistar wont knock you into an enemy tower.

Counterpicks:
: high amount of truedmg with ultimate
: E-Spell gives true dmg every few seconds
: HP based true dmg, also knockback if he comes too close

Amumu



Strength:
-> 2 Stuns
-> gapcloser
-> HP based dmg
-> huge AoE CC

Weakness:
-> can be counterjungled
-> gapcloser+stun is a skillshot

How to counter:
Anyone with knockback is good, that Amumu cant ulti your whole team. Also Amumu is a common jungler, but he is slow and can be counterjungled easy. Spellshields, or any way to get out of his stun counters him.

Items:
Banshee's Veil will block his ultimate or his stun this makes him almost useless since amumu need dmg from his team. Also QSS is a nice option, if you can react fast enough.

Counterpicks:
Counterjungler:
: can get out of his stuns.
: spellshield, to fight him in jungle
: very fast jungler, best in melee range. Also knockback from ultimate for Teamfights
: an other very fast jungler, stun every 6 seconds to fight him.
: kockback and strong jungler

Counters in Teamfight:
: Knockback.
: Knockback.

Anivia



Strength:
-> Huge AoE dmg
-> High surviveability with passive
-> cc with every skill

Weakness:
-> ultra high Mana cost
-> no escape skill
-> cooldowns in early

How to Counter:
Anivia is addicted to blue buff in early game, try to steal enemy blue buff at like 7:05 and 12:10. When you try to gank Anivia in earlygame, make sure her passive is on cd, when diving. Anivia's early game combo is the slow skillshot stun and then her e-spell. If Anivia cant land her Stun the e-spell deals only half dmg => you will need mobility.

Items:
Banshee's Veil to make sure that either her stun or her e-spell has no effect. Also QSS is nice items against high CC enemies. FoN gives you more MS to dodge spells and high amount of MRes.

Counterpicks:
: silence, high mobility
: mobility, cc
: mobility + silence, also burst dmg. You will need more than 1 Ultimate to kill anivia

Annie



Strength:
-> High burst
-> some surviveability with shield
-> 1.75s stun with any skill

Weakness:
-> no escape
-> almost melee range

How to Counter:
Annie has a short range, so make sure you have a stun or silence with more range than annie. Also spellshields can counter annie if used to block the spell that should stun you.

Items:
Banshee's Veil works like spellshield and blocks the whole spell, so stun+dmg. QSS will get you out of stun, that you can flash/run away, also giving you MRes, which is needed if playing against Annie.

Counterpicks:
: stun with more range
: counters almost every AP-carry with his silence
: high range stun if used correct. Also nice dmg with ultimate against AP-stacker.

Ashe



Strength:
-> Permaslow
-> slow amount of mapcontrol
-> Stun+Aoe slow global ultimate
-> can kite easy

Weakness:
-> weak earlygame
-> almost useless passive
-> only 1 spell scaling

How to Counter:
Ashe's first hit will crit, so make sure she use it on creeps if you dont have any way of sustain like healing supporter on lane (sona, soraka, taric, etc). Beside this crit her earlygame is weak so play aggressive and dont let her farm.

Items:
Banshee's or QSS is not as good as against other CC-based champs, since she can slow with every hit. Most dmg comes from autoattacs and only ultimate deals magic dmg. Ninja Tabi reduce dmg by more than 10%, also Frozen heart reduce AS by 20%. Randuins gives you armor + some HP with a nice active.

Counterpicks:
: aggressive earlygame
: gapcloser+stun
: you can block ultimate with spellshield, while playing aggressive in early/mid. Passive allows to kite/chase as good as Ashe
: gapcloser+slow makes it hard to kite

Blitzcrank



Strength:
-> allows aggressive earlygame
-> nice amount of cc (grab, knockup, AoE-silence)
-> if you grab the carry, he should die
-> tanky

Weakness:
-> no sustain
-> should communicate with your mates

How to counter:
Blitzcrank usually plays supporter, if so he will play aggressive. He will try to grab you if he is in a bush, cause he may hit you easier. If you stay behind minions he will grab a minion. Flashskills will help you to jump away from Blitzcrank.

Items:
Get a f**king Banshee's, to deny his grabs. Everything else should be oriented by his teammates, since Blitzcranks job is it to grab the carry, and not to kill anyone.

Counterpicks:
: flashskill to get away
: flashskill to get away
: spellshield can deny grab while giving you mana
: another flashskill

Brand



Strength:
-> High range
-> Stun
-> Some AoE dmg

Weakness:
-> not the highes burst
-> Spells can be dodged

How to Counter:
Brands Stun and highes dmg skill - besides ultimate - can be dodged, so mobility is always good.

Items:
Like against every other AP carry Banshee's and FoN are nice items, and QSS is good against his stun. You should buy early boots (I prefer to open up with boots+3 potions), to dodge his spells, so he cant deal his dmg.

Counterpicks:
: your early combo will deal high dmg while dodgint brands skills
: silence/mobility
: mobility/stun
: brand cant burst his shield

Caitlyn



Strength:
-> Huge Range
-> Strong earlygame (compared with other AD carries)
-> a bit mapcontrol with her traps
-> stealthdetection
-> escapeskill

Weakness:
-> Weak lategame
-> ulti can be blocked
-> mainly skillshots

How to Counter:
Cait will play aggressive in earlygame and will try to zone you, but her late is not that strong, so play defensive and farm. If your jungler comes for a gank, make sure she doenst has traps in the bush. Cait is also based on skillshots, so try to dodge them.

Items:
Same like every carry: ninja Tabi, Frozen Heart, Randuins Omen, Thornmail. Banshee's can block one of her spells.

Counterpicks:
: taunt so she cant use her skills
: block Q-spell or ultimate or get mana from her traps
: gapcloser with hard slow, also more range after lvl 13

Cassio



Strength:
-> High DPS
-> slow, MS buff, AoE stun
-> easy farming
-> nice range

Weakness:
-> high mana cost (even with passive)
-> ulti can fail if enemies turn around
-> high skillcap
-> Skills can be dodged
-> no real escape
-> no sustain

How to Counter:
If cassio comes to close she may land her Q-spell and spam her E then. So make sure you run around or have any escape. Cassio deals constant dmg like swain and not like annie or sion who just burst and have to w8 cd then. Mobility helps to dodge her spells, she is very effective against non-moving targets like Ryze.

Items:
General MRes, Banshee's is very effective, cause Cassio's E-spell has long cd if she use it on non-poisoned targets. Also QSS will remove poison and she has a much lower dmg output w/o her E-spell.

Counterpicks:
: jumping with ultimate, sustain
: long range farm/harrass with barrel, also flashskill
: jumping around => dont get poisoned
: jumping/silence
: jumping/silence

Cho'Gath



Strength:
-> HIGH sustain
-> nice true dmg ultimate
-> different cc
-> easy farm

Weakness:
-> if dieing loosing HP
-> melee range
-> no escape

How to Counter:
Cho'Gath get a large amount of HP with his ultimate and is often build with HP items like RoA, Rylai's, Frozen Mallet, etc. So the best Way to counter him is HP based dmg. Also ranged harrass can make his passive useless. Also he is vulnerable befor lvl 6

Items:
Items to counter high HP, like Madreds bloodrazor or deathfire grasp.

Counterpicks:
: HP based Q-spell
: High amount of HP based dmg
: Cho'Gath cant deny his farm

Corki



Strength:
-> bonus true dmg
-> Spamultimate
-> easy farm
-> escape skill

Weakness:
-> medium range
-> scaling with AP
-> high mana costs

How to Counter:
Corki scales with AP and AD, but skills having high base dmg, so he is one of the aggressive early game ADC. So you need to stay save and farm/harrass him.

Items:
His main dmg comes from his basic attacs, specialy due to his passive (+10% bonus true dmg), so get something to slow his AA with something like Randuins or Frozen Heart. Also health is needed against his true dmg.

Counterpicks:
: long range, also strong early
: long range
: long range harrass also nice shield to absorb dmg

Dr. Mundo



Strength:
-> high HP regen
-> CC reduce
-> HP regen and MS boost with ulti
-> no manacost
-> nice AD boost

Weakness:
-> skills cost HP
-> based on stacking HP

How to Counter:
Mundo used to stack HP to get more heal from passive and ultimate, so get some HP based dmg. He also has high amount of sustain with ultimate and passive, so you will need some healreduce.

Items:
Executioners calling has a nice active to reduce Mundo's heal. Also HP based dmg items like Madreds bloodrazor and Deathfire grasp make Mundo weak.

Counterpicks:
: healreduce
: HP based bonus dmg
: w+ulti = more than 50% of max hp dmg
: healreduce
: healreduce

Evelynn



Strength:
-> stealth
-> spamskills
-> perma ulti rdy

Weakness:
-> low dmg
-> low HP
-> trollpick

How to Counter:
Evelynn is based on stealth so get anything to make her visible. When she is visible, just kill her.

Items:
Oracle and Pink ward make her visible

Counterpicks:
: stealth detection
: stealth detection

: stealth detection

Ezreal



Strength:
-> flashskill
-> spamable skills
-> global ultimate

Weakness:
-> only skillshots
-> underplayed, cause he is difficult to play

How to Counter:
You will need something to disable his flashskill, so silence/stun/hold/etc. All his spells are skillshots, so learn to dodge them and stand behind creeps during laning.

Items:
Open up with boots+3 potions when laning against ez, that makes it easier to dodge his spells. His Q-spell applies onhit effects so ninja tabi will reduce its dmg and a thornmail will hurt him, but dont build thornmail w/o HP or earlygame as Carry. And as against every other ADC: ninja Tabi, thornmail, frozen heart, randuins.

Counterpicks:
: can chase/escape after his flashskill
: double stun
: nice ganks, cause he cant flash away
: cant escape during taunt

Fiddle



Strength:
-> AP-jungler
-> Nice cc
-> nice engage with ulti
-> healspell => early dragon

Weakness:
-> needs blue
-> vulnerable while casting ultimate/channeling heal

How to Counter:
Fiddle is one of the champs: stun or die. This means you have to cc him, that he cant deal dmg. Another thing is his ultimate during fights. Someone have to knock him back, that he dont deal too much dmg.

Items:
Due to his hard CC a QSS is nice, also banshee's can block his fear. His ultimate deals high dmg and all his spells deal magic dmg, so get MRes. If you dont want fiddle to heal up, get executioners calling.

Counterpicks:
: knockback
: knockback
: flash out of his ultimate, cancel his channelings with silence
: healreduce
: knockback and healreduce

Fiora



Strength:
-> can block AA (hard, when you dont know if he attacks creep or you)
-> high AS/AD/MS
-> ulti multiple on-hit (lifesteal!!)
-> cannot be targeted in ulti
-> gapcloser (with Q and R)

Weakness:
-> ulti can be canceled (will tell how in How to Counter)
-> no ranged harrass
-> low/average sustain w/o lifesteal (must buy at least vampiric)

How to Counter:
As I said the ulti can be canceled, you just need to block at least one hit so the AP carry should buy , this will stop her ulti - dunno if it is an unfixed bug or just should work this way. If you play blind pick you may play fiora vs fiora, then you can block ulti with W-spell and use ulti when her w-spell is on cd ... but you dont read whole counterpick list when playing blind pick^^.
Another thing is, that Fiora is very vulnerable to cc, cause most times squishy build - you can healup almost save in ulti and heal yourself up with lifesteal when E is active - but if you stun/snare/exhaust/etc Fiora her dmgoutput is almost gone and so her lifesteal that you can burst her down. Sometimes Fiora will go very much Lifesteal, then make sure you have healreduce (Executioners calling if needed!).

Items:
Fiora deals almost only physical dmg (W spell deals 260 magic dmg when you block an AA) and most dmg applies on-hit effects (E gives +120% AS, ulti applies onhit effects). On-hit effects are not only more dmg or lifesteal, but also ninja tabi or thornmail, so if you have thornmail + ninja Tabi you almost have 200 Armor (67% dmg reduce) and another 10% lower dmg from AA/On-hit means more than 70% dmg reduce.

Counterpicks:
: dodge AA and high dmg with his stun, after Fiora's W
: AS slow, can stack armor for more dmg, slow, ranged harrass
: Fiora is very vulnerable to cc

Fizz



Strength:
-> can dodge spells (including such as Karthus ulti)
-> healreduce
-> high mobility

Weakness:
-> Melee range
-> skillshot ulti can fail

How to Counter:
Fizz is melee range, so pick something to outrange him, but remember, that he can dodge your spells easy. Everything with longrange stun is fine.

Items:
Standard MRes build such as Banshee's, QSS, FoN is good. But dont build spellvamp/Lifesteal build, cause he can have high burst and healreduce.

Counterpicks:
: low cd, that you dont care about dodge
: silence, also high mobility
: mid-long range stun, high missle speed makes it hard to dodge
: fizz cant stay long near viktor (stun), dot will be blocked by Q-shield (so skill your Q first instead of E)

Galio



Strength:
-> easy farm
-> counter to heavy AP teams
-> tanky
-> Aoe hard cc with ultimate

Weakness:
-> ulti can be canceled
-> skillshots

How to Counter:
Galio takes profit from stacking MRes, so dont play full AP team. Dodge his skillshots. He gets nice amount of Armor/Mres with W-spell, so true dmg can help you to kill him.

Items:
Galio deals only magic dmg, so get MRes. Banshee's will block a spell and with QSS you can get out of his ultimate and cancel it.

Counterpicks:
: will auto-cancel ultimate when activate Q-spell
: will auto-cancel ultimate when activate W-spell
: will auto-cancel ultimate when in bear-stance
: may auto-cancel ultimate with Q-spell

Gangplank



Strength:
-> nice harrass with Q-spell
-> get out of CC
-> global ultimate
-> buff for his team
-> passive redbuff

Weakness:
-> melee range
-> mana costs
-> high cd on W-spell

How to Counter:
In laning Gangplank can harrass most solo-top champs with his Q-spell, which applies onhit effects and can crit. He can get out of cc easy, so time it well or pick something non cc based champion. His main problem is the mana, so when he is low mana try to trade with him.

Items:
Ninja Tabi reduce dmg by Q-spell. Also get some Armor

Counterpicks:
: his passive makes his Q-spell useless
: if skilled you can block his Q-spell with spellshield
: stun every 6 seconds
: remove slow, not cc based
: dodge his ranged harrass with your shield with no mana cost

Garen



Strength:
-> Strong earlygame
-> semi-hp based dmg with ultimate
-> silence
-> remove slow
-> MS bonus
-> tanky (+25 armor with w-spell)

Weakness:
-> no cc besides silence
-> no real sustain
-> no gapcloser

How to Counter:
Garen will build tanky most times and with his W-spell he has nice armor/Mres. Get ArmorPenetration or Magicpenetration that you can still deal dmg. Most times he will build HP so get HP based dmg, also true dmg helps to deal dmg even with his tankyness. Try to slow him while he is spinning to get out of it. You will need armor in earlygame

Items:
If Garen stacks HP you will need Madreds Bloodrazor or Deathfire Grasp. Otherwise Last whisper or Void Staff gives you ArmorPenetration or MagicPenetration. Frozen Mallet/Rylai's give you permaslow.

Counterpicks:
: long range harrass
: knockback, hp based true dmg
: perma slow, tons of sustain

Gragas



Strength:
-> mobility
-> tanky
-> sustain
-> easy farm

Weakness:
-> melee range
-> not easy to hit barrel

How to Counter:
Gragas usually tries to farm with his barrel, cause it is easier to farm with it, than harrassing. So try to harrass him. But remember that every time he uses a skill, he gets 2% of his max HP back. Skillshots are hard to land, so champs with targetspells are always nice.

Items:
General Mres like Banshee's or FoN. You wont need QSS's active against him, cause he has only weak cc (slow + knockback). You should start with boots + 3 potions, that you can dodge his barrel.

Counterpicks:
: general AP counter
: nice spellshield
: gapcloser+silence
: gapcloser with slow and knockup

Graves



Strength:
-> Tanky
-> AoE
-> Easy farm
-> utility (flashskill with nice AS boost, darkness)

Weakness:
-> medium range
-> most dmg from skills in early
-> manacosts
-> low cc

How to Counter:
Graves is a strong ranged ADC. He can harrass easy with his e-q-combo, make sure you can sustain against him or block/dodge his spells. Graves has a high burst dmg with Q+R (at lvl 7 over 400 dmg). Spellshields and Armor reduce his dmg output and most times he use his E to engage so then he has no escape.

Items:
Standart AD counter items: ninja tabi, Randuins Omen, Frozen Heart(, Thornmail)

Counterpicks:
long range
flashskill to dodge skills
block spells if you're skilled
lane dominance

Heimerdinger



Strength:
-> Great pusher
-> easy farm
-> nice kiting
-> cc

Weakness:
-> mana issues
-> no escape skill
-> almost useless in teamfight

How to Counter:
You almost cant deny Heimer's farm w/o jungler ganks. Tell your jungler to gank him, prefered with hard cc and burst him down.

Items:
General MRes that you can tank his towers when trying to kill him. Wriggley's lantern can help to kill his towers (but pls dont build wriggleys on AP carries!!)

Counterpicks:
: LONG range, use Q spell and then go away that towers dont kill you
: nice gapcloser + burst
: hold for succesfull gank, often tanky build to tank his towers

Irelia



Strength:
-> True dmg
-> jumping around (gapcloser)
-> even tanky build nice burst
-> sustain
-> easy farm

Weakness:
-> AS based
-> melee range
-> not always stun (must be low HP)

How to Counter:
Irelia is can deal nice amount of true dmg while the up to 2s stun (1.5 AS = 3 attacs => 3*75 = 225 true dmg, also 1 times Q spell, then 300 true dmg), so make sure you have surviveability that Irelia cant kill you fast enauph. Irelia has a medium earlygame so try to send her town one or two times more than you have to go yourself => sustain/harass.

Items:
Frozen Heart and Randuins Omen will reduce Irelia's AS and so her true dmg. You should get it fast if Irelia is strong. Ninja Tabi have been nice against Irelia befor the remake, cause dodge = no true dmg, now only reduce basic attac's dmg, therefor I would recommend merc treads, cause they will lower her stun duration.

Counterpicks:
: STRONG early, if you use your early game dmg right you will be higher lvl than irelia
: the only one who has dodge!
: AS slow and you can jump around as she does
: when you're same skill lvl you can beat her, with your imba-slow (up to 95%)
: early game harrass
: if you can land your combo Irelia will have problems with you
: your flamespiller will deal dmg even if stunned
: HIGH sustain, push her town

Janna



Strength:
-> Shield with up to +50 AD
-> Knockup/Knockback
-> Global MS Aura

Weakness:
-> almost no heal/sustain for your carry
-> high mana cost

How to Counter:
Dont let her land her Q-spell (knockup), cause their carry can land his skillshots too easy then (or caitlyn place a trap). Most times Tornado comes out of the bush, so place a ward inside! Janna may use her W to slow you befor trying to knock you up, so be carefull then. Janna lose her MS boost when slowing you, and when she has no boots then, she is slow and creeps can block her. Keep in mind, that her shield gives +50 AD at lvl 5 (janna lvl 9) this is more than a BF Sword.

Items:
Banshee's that she cant knock you up. Healreduce is not as important as against other supporter (like sona, soraka, taric, etc), cause only heal is her ultimate. Items you need against Janna are wards and oracle to destroy their wards.

Counterpicks:
: gapcloser
: spellshield
: spellshield

Jarvan IV



Strength:
-> tanky
-> gapcloser with knockup
-> slow + shield
-> tons of cc

Weakness:
-> Melee
-> low sustain

How to Counter:
Jarvan has no skill to heal up, so try to harrass him if he plays solotop, when jungling place a ward, cause he has no such big gapcloser like noc ulti or rammus with his over 9000 MS. Flashskills help you to get out of his ultimate. Most times Jarvan builds Atmogs, so he has high HP, get HP based dmg it you have to focus him.

Items:
QSS wont help against his kind of cc, also Banshee's is not good. Just get some Armor if he can kill you, if he builds tanky, get something that kills tanks: Madreds Bloodrazor/Deathfire Grasp against high HP and Last Whisper/Void Staff against Armor/MRes.

How to Counter:
Best way to counter someone who can dodge basic attacs is magic dmg, cause he cant dodge skill-dmg. Get some burst dmg to kill him befor he can stun you and AA you to death.

Items:
AS reduce like Randuins or Frozen Heart. Banshee's Veil or QSS help against his magic bonus dmg and his stun.

Counterpicks:
: stun + burst
: hold then he cant jump around, also magic burst dmg
: but be carefull when you use your ultimate, not that he cancel it with his stun!

Karma



Strength:
-> AP offtank support => can fill many roles
-> Shield, heal, MS buff, Slow

Weakness:
-> low heal
-> low range
-> need farm not like other supporter

How to Counter:
Well this depends on the position where karma plays. As supporter she is fun in early with shield and minor heal, also the MS buff can be usefull, but in Teamfights later she is almost useless if she has no farm and only low amount of kills/assists. Solotop or Mid she has really low dmg and is not a big threat with her low range. Just farm and kill her easy in lategame.

Items:
Karma deals only magic dmg, so get some MRes. If she plays supporter and she place wards, get oracle/pink ward to destroy them.

Karthus



Strength:

How to Counter:
Karthus is a champ who can gank all lanes while staying at base, so tell your mates, when Karthus hits lvl 6(/11/16). You can cancel ultimate with any kind of AP's hard cc (stun, knockup, knockback, silence, fear) or block it with spellshield. Karthus ultimate has a long CD specialy in early game, so make sure you have something to survive (heals, any shield, etc).

Items:
Banshee's Veil to block his ultimate, some MRes cause Karthus is more than only Press-R-to-win!

Counterpicks:
: Soraka ulti and Karthus may waste his ultimate
: spellshield and getting bonus AS
: Karthus ultimate gives you back some Mana

Kassadin



Strength:
-> long duration Silence
-> Aoe slow with nice dmg
-> recives less magic dmg

How to Counter:
Kassadin is used as AP-counter so maybe pick an AP Carry who can go solotop and send something like xin or talon mid, who deal full dmg and not like 15% less and giving Kassa AS when attacking. Also try to zone him in earlygame, cause he has no range to farm like most other AP champs. Tell your team, when he is MIA/SS, cause his ganks are strong.

Items:
You will need MRes to survive his combo, Also Banshee's may block his silence that you can still use your spells

Counterpicks:
: probably the best counterpick with silence + physical dmg and a gapcloser
: gapcloser + knockup, make sure to activate your Q befor he can silence you

Katarina



Strength:

How to Counter:
Main dmg comes from her ultimate, so make sure your team has enauph cc to cancel her ultimate. Exhaust lowers ulti dmg

Items:
MRes that her dmg is low, Banshee's only blocks first hit from her ultimate or her jump, so get real MRes.

Counterpicks:
: 2 skills to cancel ultimate, tanky enauph to stay near her
: 2 skills to cancel ultimate
: get away with ultimate or just cancel her ultimate, also long duration silence, that she cant flash away

Kayle



Strength:
-> can be played at almost every position

How to Counter:
To know how to counter Kayle, you must know what position/Role she plays. When she is playing as Support you can play aggressive befor she reaches lvl 6, cause her heal doesnt heal much, while her harrass is not the best. When she plays as hybrid carry botlane, she only has normal range, while E-spell is active (sword glows). So you can harrass her, when skill ends, cause she has no way to counter-attack. Kayle can also jungle with her AoE on AA. If so, you should be able to counterjungle and the ganks are weak, just dont push too hard and dont think you can easy go 1v2 or 2v3. To counter her ultimate every dot helps if someone tries to run away with ultimate.

Items:
Kayle is a weak Champ, try to counter other champs with the items.

Strength:

General:
He is dangerous in Teamfights with his stun, so someone has to knock him back.
AP kennen mid/top:
You should pick someone who can stay back and farm save, that he cant rush through you and stun you, cause this might be your end.
AD kennen:
Well AD kennen can be hard, cause it is AD carry with hard cc. But he has no skill scaling with AD, so he has strong early/midgame. If you have Strong lategame champ like Ashe just stay save and farm. Be warned: physical + magic dmg.

Items:
QSS to get out of stun, Banshee's to block spells. If he goes AD kennen, get something to reduce his AS, that he cant use the passive from W-spell => Frozen Heart/Randuins.

Counterpicks:

Kog'maw



Strength:
-> LONG range

How to Counter:
Kog'maw has a real weak earlygame, so dont let him farm or he will destroy your whole team. He has no escape skill, so if his lane has no ward: gank him!

Items:
lower his AS with Frozen Heart/Randuins, kog maw may play onhit, then you will need some MRes (wits end + madresds bloodrazor + malady can reach 200 bonus magic dmg every hit not even W-spell include)

Strength:

Just dont feed her! Play defensive in earlygame even if she farms better than you. As most Assassins LeBlanc is countered by Offtanks.

Counterpicks:

Lee Sin



Strength:

How to Counter:
Make sure you survive his combo, after this he either will jump away or try to kill you with basic attacs. Dont pick something that needs AS like Irelia or something that need stealth like shaco.

Items:
Banshee's Veil will block one of the skills so he may not be able to jump to you. Then you just will need some Armor/HP if his dmg is the problem. If he is too tanky, build the common tank-killer items.

Counterpicks:
: you can use your basic attacs good enauph and you will fight almost only in melee range
: high sustain/surviveability in his ultimate. While fighting you can land your combo easy

Leona



Strength:
-> 2 stuns
-> bonus armor/MRes

How to Counter:
Leona is almost only played as supporter, if so: harrass enemy carry, cause she cant heal him, but be careful, cause support Leona will play aggressive. Later you will need true dmg, cause she gets nice amount of Armor/MRes from her W-spell and as supporter she has not this much money to spend it on Warmogs.

Items:
Banshee's/QSS help to counter her Stun(s). After this just get Armor penetration/Magic penetration if you have to focus her.

Counterpicks:
: true dmg and lower stun duration
: leona comes and recives high true dmg, also not able to get stunned in ultimate, ulti-passive gives high armor penetration

Lulu



Strength:
-> various support skills (speed buff, shield, nice ulti)

-> can be played either aggressive (e.g. with cait or urgot) when using w/e on enemies or defensive (e.g. with ashe) with using those spells on mate

Weakness:
-> no sustain (not even for self like nunu)
-> hard to land perfect Q slow
-> gives bonus AP which is not rly needed in AD+support-bot Meta (yeah some dmg for MF/Tristana, but compare it with Janna's shield, which gives +50 AD at lv5 - Janna lvl 9)

How to Counter:
I will only explain Lulu as support, even if you "can" play her on almost any position (onhit with wits end + phage top, as AP carry mid, almost as jungler - even if phreak was only joking), cause Lulu is in 95% played as Supporter.
Lulu used to be played as an aggressive supporter who will try to deny your farm. Her main harrass spell will be her E-spell (shield on allied, or dmg+visible on enemy) cause this used to be maxed first. This is a target spell, so you cant dodge it - ok with sivir's spellshield, but even there it is hard. So when laning against Lulu you will need sustain.
When fighting Lulu (mainly in teamfight) care about this ultimate. It will slow you while giving the enemy bonus HP (affects max-HP skills/Items like bloodrazor or brand passive, but also Atmas). Combined with shield the target will be able to tank some more hits.

Items:
Start with boots+3 potions even when laning with high sustain supporter, cause he wont be able to heal you when also the enemy carry lands some AA on you. You wont need MRes, cause Lulu is still "only" the supporter and the carry will deal much more dmg.

Counterpicks:
: sustain + armor/mres shield for both (supp+carry)
: sustain and MRes aura as passive
: another sutain supporter

Lux



Strength:
-> some surviveability with shield also for allies
-> long range
-> low cd ultimate

Weakness:
-> mana
-> falls off late
-> skillshots

How to Counter:
Dont let Lux land her spells, cause then she deals bonus dmg with basic attacs cause of her passive.

Items:
Start with boots and potions that you can dodge her spells and stay on lane. Later QSS/Banshee's and general MRes.

Counterpicks:

Malphite



Strength:
-> Tanky with passive
-> scales with armor and AP
-> ranged harrass with slow

How to Counter:
Most times Malphite will build HP and Armor cause of his passive and his E-spell. Sometimes he add some AP to increase dmg. The point is, that he dont build that much MRes, so get HP based dmg and/or magic dmg. If passive is not up, harrass him.

Items:
Deathfire grasp or Madreds Bloodrazor deal magic dmg based on his max HP.

Counterpicks:
: long range magic dmg
: HP based magic dmg
: offtank build and while malphite is hold, he cant use his ultimate

Malzahar



Strength:
-> easy farm
-> 1v1 dominance after reaching lvl 6
-> HP based dmg

Weakness:
-> hard to land silence
-> in fight ulti can be canceled

How to Counter:
You almost cant win 1v1 after he reaches lvl 6, cause his skillcombo will kill you while you're suppressed. Try to cc him in fights, and burst him down. In early game some mobility is needed, else he can land his silence too easy. Most times Malz will only use his E-spell to farm, but if he does he pushes => jungler gank!

Items:
QSS will get you out of his ultimate, also QSS may block this. General MRes if he is too fed.

Counterpicks:
: knockback/knockup, tanky
: Oranges will get you out of his ultimate
: if you use ulti at the same time, your will cancel his ulti

Maokai



Strength:
-> tanky
-> gapcloser + hold
-> slow + little kockback
-> sustain with passive
-> useful ultimate

Weakness:
-> mana issues
-> can be counterjungled if starting with Health regen

How to Counter:
Maokai is the biggest threat, if jungling, cause he can easy engage with his hold. You will need mapcontrol, and you shouldnt push. In fights he has high surviveability with passive and Ultimate. Try to get out of his ultimate, cause fighting inside is too hard.

Items:
Due to his passive Maokai will build HP, so get something to counter HP-stacker: Madreds Bloodrazor/Deathfire Grasp. QSS or Banshee's help against his hold

Counterpicks:
: HP based dmg, while givin a f**k about hold
: high HP based dmg

Master Yi



Strength:
-> Cannot be slowed
-> Gapcloser
-> high MS (also w/o ulti)
-> heal with high armor/MRes while healing
-> nice bonus AD

Weakness:
-> melee
-> skills scale with AP
-> no CC

How to Counter:
Master Yi has no cc, but also cannot be slowed, so if you stun/hold him he cant do anything. He has a gapcloser for ganks which also deals nice dmg, but the only physical dmg come from his AA.

Items:
Get some Armor, here is Thornmail nice, cause you cant just slow his AS like against other autoattacker. Ninja tabi will reduce his dmg again by 10%. Banshee's will block his Q-spell which can be dangerous.

Counterpicks:
: dodge his AA, then stun
: AA deal no dmg for a short time
: yi comes, udyr stuns

Miss Fortune



Strength:
-> high MS
-> can harrass even if enemy positioning good
-> nice AoE
-> healreduce

Weakness:
-> Skills scale with AP

How to Counter:
Miss Fortune has a strong early, cause her skills have high base dmg. Stay save and try to farm. When someone comes to gank Miss Fortune, hit her one time, to disable her passive, then she has nothing to escape.

Items:
Just build the standart AD counter items => Armor. Ninja Tabi will reduce dmg from Q spell and AA, Frozen Heart, Randuins can be nice.

Counterpicks:
: after grabbing, her passive is down.
: Long range and strong early
: autoattacs wont hit, so no bonus dmg
: gapcloser with slow also disabling passive

Mordekaiser



Strength:
-> tanky
-> can copy enemy carry
-> easy farm

Weakness:
-> skills cost HP

How to Counter:
Mordekaiser can be zoned befor reaching lvl 6. After he can fill a huge amount of his HP with his ultimate. Morde's early is weak, cause he dont have enauph health-regen to spam his skills. Try to harrass him whenever he tries to get a lasthit.

Items:
Buy QSS to get his ultimate away. Otherwise just build Mres, but you dont need tenacity for him, cause he has no CC.

Counterpicks:
: Strong early to zone Morde

Morgana



Strength:
-> sustain
-> magic shield (spell immune)
-> easy farm

Weakness:
-> skillshot based

How to Counter:
Morgana is a counter to AP carries, cause she can block some dmg with her shield and enemy AP carries used to have CC, what they cant use. You will need either physical dmg, or champions who dont need CC.

Items:
Standart MRes build is good to counter her, but if she goes tanky, get tankkiller items.

Counterpicks:

Nasus



Strength:
-> Tanky with high dmg if farmed

How to Counter:
Dont let Nasus farm!! Deny his early game farm and enjoy a 4v5 game.

If he get his farm, get Armor and tankkiller items

How to Counter:
Nautilus can be played on many positions (solotop/jungle/support also rarely AP offtank mid), so make sure you counterpick him and not getting counterpicked later.

Items:
Nautilus usually goes tanky build cause he is melee range and has average scalings. If so get the common tankkiller items. Banshee's or QSS are always good against high cc (junglers), same with tenacity boots.

Counterpicks:

Nidalee



Strength:
-> great escape after lvl 6
-> mapcontrol

How to Counter:
You need to counter her mobility, so get something like silence, stun or hold. During laning you need healreduce.

Items:
Banshee's and standard MRes build against AP-Nidalee. If Nidalee playing AD, you will need armor.

Nocturne



Strength:
-> fast jungler

How to Counter:
Spot his position in jungle, to know when he comes for a gank, cause he can have strong ganks at lvl 2 or higher. Wards will help you to survive his ganks. If you can't run faster than he does, he will fear you, so get more MS or any other kind of mobility

Items:
Noc's main dmg is physical dmg, so get Armor like against every other AD champ. Some times Noc will build tanky, cause he is melee range and tries to jump to enemy carry with his ultimate, so tankkiller items are always good.

Counterpicks:

Nunu



Strength:
-> nice Steroid for ADC

How to Counter:
If Nunu plays as Supporter, he has no sustain for his carry, so focus their carry. Healreduce helps to deny his sustain. His high dmg skill for stealing is melee range. Most important is, to cancel his ultimate like kata's. Exhaust lowers ulti dmg.

Items:
Banshee's and he can only buff their carry, but if he tries to slow you, only breaking banshee's. General MRes is good as always, but often the supporter is not the Problem.

Counterpicks:

Olaf



Strength:
-> tanky
-> high dmg (true dmg, high arpen)
-> sustain

Weakness:
-> melee range + 1 skillshot

How to Counter:
If you are melee, he will be able to deal high dmg with his true dmg (340 at lvl 9), so make sure you have enauph HP. Get mobility, to dodge his slow. Olaf can be played as jungler, but he has no gapcloser and also no hard cc, so his ganks are not the strongest, a simple ward counters his ganks. If fighting him 1v1 remember his bonus AS when he is low HP, he can activate his w-spell to get bonus AD and Lifesteal.

Items:
Get HP against his true dmg. Some armor is needed against his Q-spell and AA. AS slow like Randuins and Frozen Heart will help you to fight him in 1v1 and in teamfights.

Counterpicks:

Orianna



Strength:
-> nice range
-> utility (MS boost, slow, shield)

Dodge ball! Then stay away from the ball. All Her skills will be used around the ball. Orianna has high mana cost so if she cant land her ball on you, she cant zone you. In midgame Orianna can farm easy with Q+W 3-6 Minions. In this time she may not harrass you, so try to harrass her, that you can farm free when she has to go town.

Items:
General MRes build works fine. Banshee's will block a spell, which is usefull, while QSS is not needed, cause her cc is only a slow and a knockup.

Counterpicks:

Pantheon



Strength:
-> easy harrass
-> blockin basic Attack (even tower attack)
-> target stun
-> long range ulti

Weakness:
-> mana issues
-> passive dont block spells (except on-hit effect skill)

How to Counter:
You need high sustain to stay on lane even with his harrass. All his spells are target-spells, so you cant dodge them, the only way to lane against him is sustain.

Items:
Armor is important. QSS if you cant live with his stun, while Banshee's is almost useless, with his low cd's.

Counterpicks:

Poppy



Strength:
-> Can kill carries easy
-> towerdiver

-> often dies in focus after ulti

How to Counter:
Poppy is a champ who specializes in killing carries while being almost invulnerable during ultimate. So if you die make sure you die near your allies that they can burst down poppy after. Poppy will stun you and deal bonus dmg if you are near a wall, so dont stay near walls if you dont wanna die.

Items:
Banshee's Veil will block one spell and reduce her burst dmg. General MRes helps to survive her combo, helps even more than stacking HP, since poppy deal HP-based dmg with Q-spell.

Counterpicks:
: high true dmg, but HP stacker, so build MRes

Rammus



Strength:

How to Counter:
Rammus has strong early ganks, so make sure, you dont push too hard. Once he gets too close to you, he may taunt you.

Banshee's or QSS help against his Taunt. If you want to kill him, get tankkiller equips.

Counterpicks:

Renekton

Renekton has a strong early game with average sustain. You will need sustain to lane against him.

General Armor is needed if he can kill you too easy. If he will build tanky get tankkiller items. Healreduce like Executioners calling will lower his sustain.

Counterpicks:

Riven



Strength:
-> nice cc (knockback, AoE Stun)
-> mobility

Weakness:
-> low sustain
-> low range

How to Counter:
Riven has no chance to get HP except lifesteal or natural Healthregen. This in combination with her low range and average mobility makes her vulnerable to ranged harrass. You may play Ranged AD Carry solotop against her, or anything who has ranged harrass.

Items:
QSS if stun is a problem, everything else should be Armor. If Riven goes tanky like Atmogs or Frozen Mallet + Atmas, get the standard tankkiller items.

Counterpicks:
: long range harrass and escape skill, if she comes too close
: if Riven comes close begin to spin
: nice ranged harrass.

Rumble



Strength:
-> can push hard
-> can deal dmg while cc'ed
-> high dmg if you fight him over long time
-> no mana problems

Weakness:
-> low range
-> vulnerable when overheat
-> no escape skill, only shield + low MS boost
-> no sustain

How to Counter:
Rumble can deal high dmg, if you fight him in melee range. So pick something with long range harrass. If he overhealts, you have to cc him, cause he cant use skills for a short time. Also be careful, if he is in "danger zone" - you can see it, when is energy-bar is between 50 and 100, also it is yellow then - then his skills deal 30% more dmg.

Items:
MRes is needed. Banshee's is not useful, same as QSS, cause is only cc is some slows, and one of them can hit you 2 times, other one is AoE-permaslow.

Counterpicks:
: ranged harrass, but care about your mana
: ranged skills, if they have rumble often other AP mid, so you can easy build MRes

How to Counter:
While Ryze spam his skills he usually doesnt move, so you can land your skillshots or spam your own skills. Once he has Tear of Goddess he will try to spam it full. It will need some time until he build tanky, try to zone him in this time.

Items:
Banshee's wont be the best choise, cause he can spam his skills too much, so the passive is useless. Also QSS is not usefull, except you may die when ryze hold you. General MRes and in Late tankkiller items and you are fine.

Counterpicks:

Sejuani



Strength:

How to Counter:
Sejuani is one of the weaker champions, cause she needs her team to be effective since her dmg is low and only can offer cc - and there are champions with more/better cc. With her scalings the most effective way to play Sejuani is tanky, so everything to kill tanks will help when playing against Sejuani. In the current meta Sejuani can only played in jungle (solotop possible, but not recommended), and she is slow. Try to counterjungle her like stealing her first red/wraith with a fast jungler.

Items:
General Tankkiller items depending on her build, her dmg shouldnt be the problem.

Counterpicks:

Shaco



Strength:
-> stealth
-> flashskill
-> strong early ganks
-> can dodge many skills with ulti

How to Counter:
Play save in early, cause he has strong earlyganks, even in mid. Fed Shaco can easy splitpush or even backdoor. If you wanna fight him, stealthdetection can help to follow him, if he tries to flash away. Also Walljumpers are nice, if you wanna fight him in jungle.

Items:
Oracle and Pinkward makes him visible, when he jumps on your lane. Armor helps against his crit after flashing. Tenacity or QSS same as Banshee's will help against AP shaco, who will just stack JitB in bushes.

Counterpicks:

Shen

If shen plays solotop, he has average sustain and harrass with Q spell, keep this in mind. He has high armor, so get true dmg or magic dmg. Beware of 1v1 fights after shen reaches lvl 6, cause he can make this fight easy 2v1

Items:
Banshee's passive is almost useless against his spamable Q-spell. If taunt is a problem get tenacity or QSS. If you are an AD champ, get Armor penetration, even if he dont build much armor-items.

Shyvana



Strength:
-> tanky
-> fast jungler, good counterjungler
-> dont need blue

Weakness:
-> must AA as much as possible to be effective

-> only MS buff, no gapcloser

How to Counter:
Shyvana is strong counterjungler, so make sure she doesnt steal first red or wraith. If Shyvana comes for a gank, kite her! She is useless, if she cant land some attacs. Exhaust may help you to kite and lowers her AS very much.

Items:
Get Rylai's/Frozen Mallet to kite her. Shyvana is tanky, so build tankkiller equip, if you want to kill her.

Strength:

How to Counter:
Singed is not able to zone you, or at least not as good as other solo-top champs (e.g. renekton or garen), so make sure you can farm and have a champ who needs the farm like Nasus. Singed usually runs around and try to poison your team and if you chase him he deals dmg w/o getting dmg, except you can slow him, so try to slow him, if you want to kill him and dont stay too long in this purple fog.

Items:
Banshee's and he wont fling you, FoN and you also get MS with your MRes. General MRes build against his dmg, but QSS is almost useless, cause you cant cleanse any cc. If he builds tanky, you should know that if you have to focus him: build tankkiller items!

Counterpicks:

Sion



Strength:
-> Easy farming (as AP and as AD sion)
-> target stun
-> AP sion strong early and strong ganks
-> AD Sion almost unkillable after reaching lvl 6

-> if you burst his shield, he wont deal dmg with it.
-> need farm

How to Counter:
This depends on, how Sion plays: AD or AP.
How to Counter AP Sion:
He will farm with his shield (after lvl 9 he will get whole minion wave). Also trying to stun enemy that he also takes dmg from shield. If you are able to burst his shield, he cant farm and he dont deal dmg to you. He will push lane on this way and gank, so call SS. Healreduce may help, even if ulti is not as strong as on AD-Sion
How to Counter AD Sion:
With his E-Spell he has a huge amount of AD even at lvl 1. This makes it easy to get cs, but not AoE farming and ganking like AP Sion. His ultimate gives him high AS and Lifesteal, so get Heal-reduce if you're trying to kill Sion.

Items:
Banshee's Veil, QSS amd Executioners calling helps against any kind of Sion. Against AD Sion get Frozen Heart, Randuins, Thornmail, ninja Tabi. Against AP Sion just the common MRes.

Counterpicks:
AP Sion:

How to Counter:
When playing against good Sivir, she will block a spell anytime her spellshield is rdy (21s on lv 1). While it is on cd Sivir is vulnerable, so use your skills on her then. Dodging her Boomerang is necessary, else Sivir deals high dmg if landing autoattac + W spell on you. Her Ultimate is strong buff for the entire team. After the nerf it is only 10s so wait until Sivir ulti is over.

Items:
Standard ADC counter is good. Sivir deals only physical dmg.

Counterpicks:
: if sivir blocks knockback it is easy to use knockup

Try to steal Skarner's blue buff, so he jungles much slower, so he may get underlvled. Make sure you dont feed Skarner, even with his strong ganks. Every knockback makes it hard for Skarner to ulti your carry. If you can destroy his shield, his MS/AS buff expires then you can kite him.

Items:
Wards will help to deny Skarners gank since he has no gapcloser like maokai or nocturne. Skarner will be tanky in lategame so get tankkiller equip. QSS helps you to get out of his ultimate.

Counterpicks:

Sona

How to Counter:
Swain is based on his heal, so get some healreduce. If he can use ulti long enauph it heals very much so burst him down if needed. Exhaust lowers ulti dmg => less heal. His E-spell increase dmg from other spells, also from ignite, so be careful. His dmg comes from dots, so you may die if running away.

Items:
Standard AP counter. QSS not needed, cause there is no hard cc beside hold.

How to Counter:
Try to harrass Talon in earlygame, that he dont get too much CS. Talon's earlygame is moderate and he will only try to farm, once he reaches lvl 6 he can burst enauph to kill squishy targets - such as carries. If you lane against him be careful when he has his full combo rdy. Most times Talon goes mid to counter AP carry with his silece. A common way to counter this is to send AP carry solotop and solo top goes mid against Talon. If Talon use his ultimate stealthdetection will help you to kill him in fights. Always try to cc him if you fear him.

Items:
Oracle will make Talon visible that you can burst him down. General Armor is a good way to handle his burst dmg.

Counterpicks:

Taric



Strength:

Taric has a strong early sustain with heal + aura. If he comes too close he may try to stun you. As for most supporter: try to counter the carry. Special for Taric: some Armor Penetration is good. Healreduce if his heal is too strong

Teemo



Strength:

How to Counter:
Most importatn if playing against teemo is to deny his mapcontrol. His stealth only lasts while he stands stil, so if you know where he is, you can use your AoE's.
I wont tell anything about AP teemo, cause he is not rly viable, cause he has too high cd's with average scalings.

Items:
Oracle will make his shrooms visible and teemo too. His only physical dmg comes from AA, so reduce his AS with something like Frozen Heart or Randuins Omen.

Counterpicks:

Why not Kog'Maw, he has stealth detection? - Kog is based on his basic attacs and doesnt deal dmg, while blinded.

Tristana



Strength:

-> can burst down someone in earlygame
-> highest natural range in game, only kog maw with W spell active has more
-> 90% AS boost

Weakness:
-> must farm in her weak midgame
-> autopushing lane with E-spell passive
-> skills scale with AP and deal magic dmg

How to Counter:
Tristana can burst you down in early lvls, when she is lv 6 (Q:0, W:3, E:2, R:1 skilled) her combo deals 600 magic dmg, so be careful. Her midgame is weak, cause her spells wont deal much more dmg and her passive is stil low. Tristana will only try to farm in this time, so this is the time to zone her. A great advantage of tristana is her mobility. She can jump around every few seconds and slow everything whereever she lands and her ulti will push melee's away while dealing nice dmg. When you try to kill her - and you should if you dont want to die - make sure, she cant use her jump, so cc her (silence, stun, hold), but please dont run into 5 enemies as Carry!!

Items:
All of tristana's skills deal magic dmg, they shouldn't be a problem in lategame, but her basic attacs will own, so get anything to lower her AS or dmg from AA. Ninja Tabi are very nice against her.

Counterpicks:
: can follow her jumps easy while bursting her down - tristana shouldnt build tanky
: just roll and taunt, but you will need armor even with your shield
: Ryze wont let tristana jump away

Trundle



Strength:
-> lowers enemies AD
-> nice cc with pillar
-> MS/AS buff while being less cc'ed
-> if you are tanky, he gets tanky too with his ulti

Weakness:
-> no gapcloser
-> almost only melee range

How to Counter:
Trundle is a strong jungler and designed for fighting 1v1, so dont try to fight him in jungle and counterjungle only if you are more fed, than he is. When fighting against trundle remember his Q spell will give him bonus AD while lowering your AD. If you are CC based, dont fight on his terminated ground, cause there he has reduced CC duration, which stacks with tenacity. If he comes over for a gank, try to kite him, which is not always easy with his MS buff and he may slow you.

Items:
When trundle use his ultimate he get a part of your armor/Mres and dealing some dmg, so better build HP than giving him too strong armor/MRes boost, but general Armor to lower his dmg is always good.

Counterpicks:
: kiting with slow, may be harder than kiting other champs but possible
: AP champs counter him in general, I list Singed here, cause he is the best kiter
: another good choise with slow + ulti
: can kite with that amazing passive, but dont let him catch you.

Tryndamere



Strength:
-> high critchance from passive
-> 5s not dieing in ultimate

How to Counter:
Tryndamere has a weak early, so try to kill him befor reaching lvl 6 or at least send him town sometimes. If he use his ultimate, try to give him a dot, that he can die after ulti runs out. Ignite is good, cause it reduce heal from Q-spell.

Items:
General Armor Items, Frozen Heart/Randuins required. Ninja Tabi are really good, cause he almost only deal dmg with AA

Counterpicks:

Twisted Fate

How to Counter:
Twisted Fate is usually played as AP carry mid - AD carry bot is possible, but only 1 skill scaling with AD - so he will try to hit you with his cards. You have to dodge them and if Twisted Fate comes too close to you he may try to stun you. With Lich Bane his combo can deal high dmg, so make sure you stay far away when he is picking a card. If you want to kill Twisted, make sure you can burst him befor he is able to pick golden card to stun you. After reaching lvl 6 he may try to gank with his ultimate, so warn your mates!

Items:
Banshee's Veil will block random cards or his stun. QSS will get you out of stun. General MRes works fine, if he plays AD-Twisted he is highly based on his basic attacs so get anything to lower his AS.

Counterpicks:

In the current Meta Twitch is played as Jungler/Roamer. Make sure you ward your lane with pinkward and play defensive in early, cause he usualy begins to gank at lvl 2, and most lanes dont have pink ward then.

Items:
Pink Ward to counter his early ganks, Oracle to focus him later in Teamfights. If he deals too much dmg, cause he is fed, get the common Armor Items like Frozen Heart, Randuins, Ninja Tabi...

Counterpicks:
: strong jungler, can counterjungle him, stealthdetection

: strong counterjungler, AoE will hit him while in stealth

Udyr



Strength:
-> fast jungler
-> stun every 6 seconds

How to Counter:
Udyr deals Hybrid dmg, keep this in mind, but main dmg comes from his AA, so physical dmg. If you wann fight him, you have to kite him, cause he has no gapcloser, but if he can hit you, you're stunned.

Randuins omen has an active that helps you to kite, boots are required, tenacity best. His passive and Q spell gives him bonus AS, so get something to reduce his AS like Randuins/Frozen heart. Rylai's or Frozen Mallet will help you to kite

How to Counter:
It is important that you dont stay near walls, cause she will stun you then. Vayne is often played with Blitzcrank, cause he will grab you from bush and then you're next to the wall, where vayne will stun you. Everything that lowers Vayne's AS, helps to lower true dmg.

Items:
Randuins Omen and Frozen Heart will reduce Vayne's AS.

Deny his farm, that he cant get bonus AP from his Q-spell. He need very much mana, so get his blue buff at 7:05 and 12:10. Play aggressive in early, cause he will try to farm at this time. Dont stack too much AP, cause his ulti scales with 120% of veigars and 80% of your AP.

Items:
QSS/Banshee's against his stun/combo. General MRes.

Counterpicks:

Viktor



Strength:
-> can be played in different ways
-> long range harrass
-> strong early/mid cause of passive

Weakness:

How to Counter:
Viktors main problem in laning is that he can harrass you with his laser, while standing far away, but you can dodge it, just make sure you are fast enauph. When he build up his E-spell it will deal 30% more dmg, so be extra careful then. When he tries to stun you, get out of it! You may need a flashskill or so, cause it slows hard in late and if you are inside for more than 1.5s you will get stunned. In Teamfights: dont stay too close as group cause his ultimate will destroy your team if you do.

Items:
General MRes prefered. Banshee's will block one of his spells. QSS is a good choise in late, cause of his stun. Early game boots are nice if you have to lane against him

Counterpicks:

Vladimir



Strength:
-> sustain

-> can dodge some spells with pool

Weakness:

How to Counter:
If you can land dots, Vlad wont be able to dodge their dmg with his pool, so champions with dots are very good against him. Vladimir has nice sustain, so either get more/same sustain or nice burst dmg.

Items:
Vlad will get high HP in lategame, so get Items to counter this like Deathfire Grasp or Madreds Bloodrazor.

Counterpicks:

: dot, silence

Volibear



Strength:
-> his passive may save his life
-> ghost + fling spell
-> nice AS boost when AAing
-> AoE AA with ulti

Weakness:
-> no ranged spell
-> low scaling on skills => dmg falls of late

How to Counter:
If Volibear plays solotop he will try to zone you in the first lvls, so make sure you can either farm with ranged spells or can sustain his dmg. It will be almost impossible to kill him early in 1v1 if you dont have early game burst against his passive. You should also keep in mind, that he deals more dmg, if you are low HP. Volibear is also a viable jungler, but he is slow and can be counterjungled, but killing him in the jungle is too hard, just steal his mobs.

Items:
Volibear will build HP cause of his passive, so Deathfire grasp or Madreds Bloodrazor will deal nice dmg. You may consider building Executioners calling to counter his passive, while givin sustain.

Counterpicks:
: while he cant catch you, you are too fast. Additional healreduce
: when Voli's passive triggers it is the perfect time for your ultimate
: knockback/jump that he dont chatch you, healreduce

Warwick



Strength:
-> Sustain
-> AS boost
-> gapcloser + suppressing ulti
-> MS + seeing low HP enemies
-> tanky

Weakness:
-> Mana
-> melee range
-> one of the worst attack animation

How to Counter:
Warwick need Mana to have sustain, so if he is oom you can harrass him, dont waste too much skills if he has full mana. Also stay away from him, else he will deal dmg to you and heal self. If WW is a jungler, he is really slow and can be counterjungled easy, also needs blue buff, so think about gank at 1:55. His ganks befor reaching lvl 6 are really weak, cause he has no cc then besides redbuff slow. In teamfights you should try to cancel his ultimate.

Items:
Cleanse doesnt help against ulti, QSS does. Warwick often goes tanky build, so standard tankkiller items.

Counterpicks:

Wukong



Strength:
-> gapcloser
-> can troll with stealth
-> knockup ulti

Weakness:
-> no ranged spell

How to Counter:
Wukong has a gapcloser, so make sure you dont want to counter him with your range! When playing against him you have to trade with him, so you need at least an average early-game and it is almost an advantage to be melee range. Often he will jump to you, use his spells and runs away in stealth, if you have earlygame stealth detection you can attack the real Wukong.

Items:
Wukong has a spell to reduce your armor, so make sure you have enauph armor against him. QSS wont help against ultimate's knockup. Oracle will help you, if you dont have stealthdetection.

Counterpicks:
: stealthdetection, strong early game, can jump around more than wukong, so you decide when you trade.
: stun him if he engages, on this way you should be the one who deals more dmg, also some sustain
: strong earlygame, sustain, can stun if Wukong engages.

Xerath



Strength:
-> huge range
-> bonus Magic penetration (only with masteries and lv 5 spell 37%)

How to Counter:
If laning against Xerath make sure he cant harrass you too much with his skills, they can be dodged. Be extra careful after he lands his E-spell cause you will be stunned if he can hit you then. As any mage his weakness is silence, cause he cant deal any dmg while silenced.

Items:
General MRes build. He has stun so Banshee's QSS are good choices.

Counterpicks:

Xin Zhao



Strength:

Dont pick ranged champs, cause Xin has a gapcloser so you wont have so much profit with your high range. Any melee range champ has the advantage, that if xin attacs you dont need a gapcloser to attack Xin. Xin takes profit from AS build, so every AS slow is a counter against Xin.

Items:
Try to Slow his AS, that he takes longer to knock you up, so get Frozen Heart/Randuins. With his ultimate he is tanky, so if you try to kill him, get tankkiller items.

Counterpicks:
: AS slow, can jump away if needed

Yorick



Strength:
-> Sustain
-> AoE Slow
-> can push lane easy

How to Counter:
Yorick has too much sustain, that you just can harrass him a bit. But usually he will push, and then you can get the cs at the tower and you jungler can come for a gank. In teamfights he will be tanky and can copy the own carry, so you have to kill the carry twice.

Items:
Anything that give you sustain and something to push against yorick like wriggley's. Also tankkiller items are required, if you want to focus him.

Counterpicks:

How to Counter:
Ziggs can farm and harrass very easy so make sure you can dodge his main dmg skill - Bouncing Bomb (Q). It has a low cd and when Ziggs has blue buff he can spam it every few seconds. Ziggs also has a high range so it will be almost impossible to outrange a well played Ziggs. The only way to handle with him is in melee range, so if you have a gapcloser it is very hard for him to land his spells.

Items:
Ziggs only deal magic dmg - also the bonus dmg from passive is magic dmg - so build MRes, Banshee's is not good, cause of his short cd's better get something like FoN. In early game you will need boots to dodge his spells.

Counterpicks:
: gapcloser, invis, burst
: gapcloser, silence, burst
: stun with his gapcloser, ranged harrass
: nice AP counter, may be hard in early game
: some sustain, gapcloser makes it hard for him to land skills

Zilean



Strength:
-> strong early
-> nice slow or MS boost
-> fair CD's
-> can resurect mates

Weakness:
-> falls of late
-> no sustain
-> low range

How to Counter:
Zilean can play either as supporter or as AP Carry mid. Zilean is not a good supporter, cause he cant offer any sustain for his carry. If he tries to harrass with double bombs, he has to come close and may eat some AA. So try to harrass as much as possible. If Zilean plays as AP carry mid, he has a low range and may farm with double bombs, if so he will push lane, so jungler can gank.

Items:
Banshee's will block doublebombs, and gives MRes to lower dmg from any bombs. Zilean has a weak lategame, so dont stack too much MRes in early cause enemy AD carry will kill you with some AA.

Counterpicks:
: sustain against bombs
: sustain against bombs
: can block bombs, but rly difficult, wont block bombs he already placed
: against AP Zilean mid, you will have sustain

Another thing is Trist jump doesn't dodge Blitz pull. You can still grab her mid jump.

and a lot of the counterpicks really dont make any sense. take malzahar for example, yes, oranges, counter his ult, but malzhar rarely goes top and gp is rearely seen mid (unless ganking, which doesnt even matter cause a good malzahar wont use his ult on gp)

this is a great start but needs more fleshing out as in order for this to be perfect, you would need opinions from several people or to play all 100 champions against matchups

I'd add Cho'Gath to the list of Yorick's counterpicks since he can sustain and farm through ghouls due to his passive.
