The first question that everyone's going to ask is Why put Jayce in the Jungle?

Now i know many of you are thinking, WTF is Jayce doing in the Jungle? Isn't he better top?
Yes he's better Top I agree, but let's say you don't get Top in Solo Q and you want to carry out of Jungle. Now you will start thinking about playing Jayce in the Jungle ;)

There are specific Combos for Ganking Lanes + Clearing the Jungle Faster than any other Junglers out there. (Yes I mean like, superman fast.)

Jayce becomes a REALLY OP Late-Game Poking Champion because of a few reasons:

1. Almost Constant = + Combo (Good for Running Away as well as getting out of base.)

2. is on a 6 Second Cooldown and Can be Spammed to Gain in order to Chase or Escape with Ease

3. His Ganks are Solid due to his + Combo = Slow + CC + Stun = Really Stronk Ganks

4. He has probably the fastest Jungle Clears

Why 21 Points into Defence?


This is a must for jungling, and is a very common way to put 21 pts into defence as a Jungler who will be in the face of the ADC in a teamfight (after poking of course). The Health and the Lessened Crit DMG is so crucial in teamfights and also in Jungle. Jayce doesn't have high armor values so putting points into armor (bladed etc) is quite important as well.

Why 9 Points into Offence?


The Cooldown reduction is KEY for Jayce as he is a spamming champion. You want to be able to spam abilities and charge the Tear as fast as possible, (which you can easily in the jungle)and also the Armor Pen and AD per level should help out later in teamfights as well as Jungling since the Jungle Camps have Armor.

This will set Jayce up for Longer Jungling Time + Late Game Tankiness

I Focus Mainly on AD since Jayce has AS Buff on his W


1. Attack Speed with is quite good enough for Jungle clears. As soon as you get Tear, you will be able to Spam the abilities to your heart's content.

2.His Early Jungle clears are quite slow and rely on Ganking alot, since you want to Maximize the DMG when ganking and securing those kills, you will need some AD.

3. You can also Proc W when in non-Hammer form and quickly go into Hammer form in order to have AS on your Melee stance.


Marks - AD Marks (Really good for early ganks and also fast clears with his )

Seal - Armor Yellows (Tankiness + Survivability)

Glyphs - Shielding Blues (Magic Resist Per Level is Very Important because you are gonna build Health Tank Items on Jayce)

Quints - Attack Damage Quints Are the Best (More Damage)

This is the best combo possible with Jayce

However, there's another combo that people can tryout: instead of


I feel this combo is really good, because the only escape Jayce has is his aka. Acceleration Gate while in his Mercury Cannon form.

Therefore, is quite important.

can be also used to flash behind enemies without having to FIRST then for example.
I can do a clear Stun off if I just + Combo behind the enemy to stun and push the enemy towards my team.
This is especially good for ganks when I can towards my laning teammate.

His is also kind of a built-in so Jayce can secure kills on ganks pretty darn well with just + Combo.

What to Build on Jayce?

There are TWO main ways to Start with as Jayce


+ Potions
- Should be only taken IF YOU ARE GANKING AT LEVEL 2

- Standard Opening that can Help you stay in Jungle for a long time to get that early on.

I'm going to be VERY HONEST HERE and say that I'm not a huge fan of getting on Jayce

This way I can build into a as soon as possible without losing out on too much damage or Life Steal because Cool Down Reduction and AD are Quite Important on Jayce in order to clear the jungles.

Then I always build up for a because Damage on Jayce is always good since he does not do a TON of damage early to mid game. People think that he does a ton of damage alone without damage items and the answer is no. His is probably the only skill that does damage even without any damage items, but that's it really.

I feel that he does really well with Frozen Heart since he needs Cool Down Reduction and is a SPAMMING Champion and it also gives him some tanking potential as well with the other late game item:

***If someone else already has Frozen Heart then Rush a GA***

Complex Skills? Not at all

Passive: Hextech Capacitor
Jayce gains 40 movement speed for 1.25 seconds and ignores unit collision each time Transform is cast.

Explanation:

This is what makes Jayce SO OP. This is almost a built-in that can be spammed every 6 seconds on his .

Remember the is available from level 1 and can be activated to gain movement speed and get to your jungle OR their enemy jungle = Really Good for Jungle Invasion at Level 1 without even boots on

This can be abused with the Acceleration Gate while in his Mercury Cannon form. This way at Level 18 the Cooldown on is 6 seconds and the Cooldown of is about 10 seconds. So when you use while its on the 10 second cool down, right at 5 seconds remaining on the cooldown of your , you will be allowed to Activate your which will give you Constant and will be on Cooldown for 6 seconds once again. By the time comes up again, you can activate your because its cooldown will have passed while you were in your Hammer form.
This will be explained accurately in the following Chapter: Abilities and Skills



Q: To the Skies! / Shock Blast
- To the Skies!

Jayce leaps to an enemy, dealing physical damage to his target and to enemies in the area, slowing them for 2 seconds.


- Shock Blast

Fires an orb of electricity that detonates upon hitting an enemy or reaching the end of its path, dealing physical damage to all enemies in the area of the explosion.

If Shock Blast is fired through an Acceleration Gate, the area of effect, missile speed and range will be increased, and its damage will increase by 40%.


Explanation:

Hammer Mode: This is the built-in very similar to 's Leap Strike
-this is an AoE slow and actually Hits TWICE, so it jumps AoEs and then Hits for Extra Magic Damage due to the passive of

Mercury Cannon: This is what does "Tons of Damage" combined with which can be used a sniper for headshotting people like 's Ultimate

This should be MAXED FIRST due to the Damage Increase and the AoE of Hammer + Slow.



W: Lightning Field / Hyper Charge
- Lightning Field

(Passive): Jayce regenerates mana each time he strikes an enemy while in Hammer Stance.
(Active): Creates an electric aura, dealing magic damage over 4 seconds to nearby enemies.


- Hyper Charge

(Active): Jayce gains a burst of energy, increasing his attack speed to maximum for 3 attacks. These attacks deal varied damage depending on rank.


Explanation:

This should be MAXED SECOND.
This really helps in clearing jungles really fast and can also regen quite a bit of mana during jungling.
There's a secret to this Attack Speed buff.

This can be Activated in Mercury Cannon form and then can switch into Hammer to gain the Attack Speed for Melee Form
This W still procs while in Hammer Mode and DOES NOT have to be in Mercury Form ONLY.
Please Read the Skills section very thoroughly on how to use this ability to its full potential.



E: Thundering Blow / Acceleration Gate
- Thundering Blow

Deals magic damage equal to a base amount plus a percentage of the target's maximum health, knocking the target back a short distance. This damage is capped against monsters.


- Acceleration Gate

Deploys an Acceleration Gate for 4 seconds, increasing the movement speed of all allies who pass through it for 3 seconds. This bonus fades over the duration.


Explanation:

This should be MAXED LAST.
This is what does that "Ton of Damage" in terms of stunning and pushing the enemy into your team.
However, it's not worth maxing first because the Acceleration Gate does not gain any more speed buff by upgrading it fast as possible.
This Acceleration Gate can Combo with the to have an Almost Constant




R: Transform: Mercury Cannon / Transform: Mercury Hammer
- Transform: Mercury Cannon

Transforms the Mercury Hammer into the Mercury Cannon, gaining new abilities and ranged attacks.
The next attack in Cannon Stance reduces the enemy's armor and magic resist for 5 seconds.


- Transform: Mercury Hammer

Transforms the Mercury Cannon into the Mercury Hammer, gaining new abilities and bonus armor and magic resist.
The next attack in Hammer Stance deals additional magic damage.


Explanation:

This is Available Right at Level 1 and Should be Maxed Whenever Possible
This is on a really low cooldown = about 6 seconds and can/should be spammed to maximise your movement speed OR jungling speed.
The Extra Magic Damage and Reduction of enemy's armor and magic resist for a few seconds is really OP.
This is quite similar to except this can be used to at Level 1.

Which Skills to Max in Order?

Why Max Q First?


-Shock Blast through does alot of Damage and can be used to Poke/Kite.

-Gap closer is an AoE Two-Hit Ability and when scaled with 's Passive of Doing extra Magic Damage = Tons of Damage

Should be MAXED SECOND to clear jungles fast as possible with an AoE Magic Damage and also the Mana Regen is QUITE important since Jayce uses up alot of Mana in early Jungles.

is not worth Maxing First mainly because it only increases the damage when in Hammer Form. The Acceleration Gate does not gain any more buffs in terms of movement speed. This CAN be maxed Second for that Hammer Form Stun + Slow Damage.

How to Clear Jungle As Jayce (From the Start)

You NEED a VERY GOOD Leash on the Blue Golem


A lot of people have been asking me how to do this during Early Game OR Before Level 6 because Jayce is a VERY SLOW jungler from the very start.

***You Should Gank at Lvl 2 after Finishing the Blue Golem***


1. Changing to Mercury Cannon Form will Allow you to Reduce Magic Resist and Armor on the Next Basic Attack

2. Autoattack the Blue Golem for the reduction, as many times as you can before it starts hitting you

3. Shock Blast it, then Quickly Switch into Hammer Form, and then + Extra Magic Damage on the Next Basic Attack while in Hammer Form

4. Switch Back to Mercury Cannon, autoattack, repeat, Shock Blast etc.


Then, you can use this Technique to clear other camps even faster.

You MUST Learn to Utilize the Ultimate Form's Passive to its Full Potential


***Remember TWO Important things***


1. Mercury Cannnon Form - Next Basic Attack Reduces Armor and Magic Resist

2. Mercury Hammer Form - Next Basic Attack Deals Additional Magic Damage

How to Clear Jungle as Jayce (Fastest Way After Level 6)

There is ONE way to Clear the Jungle AS FAST AS POSSIBLE


***This is for when all your Skills have been learned so you can only do this after Level 6***

In order to do this, you must understand the skills first of all, hoping that you read the skill explanations above, let's get straight into this.

1. Start with Mercury Cannon Form, Pick a Camp to Start

2. Activate then through the Acceleration Gate

***Make sure you aimed for a Specific Camp to shoot your at***

4. This will Grant you vision on the Camp.

Remember to Auto Attack while in Mercury Form to Reduce the MR and Armor of the Monster

5. Activateand Quickly Change to Hammer Form (This will give Attack Speed)

6. Then quickly on the Camp that you have vision on + Extra Magic Damage for the next Basic Attack while in Hammer Form

***Remember Attack Speed is still in effect if changed quickly enough to the Hammer Form***

This way you can gain Attack Speed in your Melee Hammer Form and Clear the Jungle in 2 to 3 seconds.

I think Activating for the AoE damage while in Hammer is unnecessary since you clear fast enough with the Attack Speed buff on Melee and the .

So in Very Simple Letters: E Q W R Q W E

The W and the E at the end is really Optional, W isn't really needed or E because you will most likely clear the jungle before you can use those abilities. Watch out for your Mana before Activating your as this can cost ALOT OF MANA than you think.

Try not to Activate your while in Hammer Mode, try to use the Attack Speed buff to gain the mana back

How to Gank (Jayce Early Game)

Jayce's Lvl 2 Ganks are very strong and SHOULD BE DONE.


Start a Skill in and then Level up your .

Then Gank Top or Mid or Bot.
You NEED TO GANK AT LVL 2.

Jayce is a terrible jungler Early Game (hence why I have AS Marks and AS Quints because of his slow clears) so there's no reason to fool around the in the jungle for a long time.
Jayce is a Ganking Champion Early to Mid Game.

The Q + E combo should be enough to kill the Lvl 1 Enemy.
You can also use to flash behind the enemy and Knock + Stun him/her back to your Laning Teammate.


OR

Start as Mercury Cannon Form.

Activate run through it, gain movement speed.

Change back to Hammer Form, then them back instead of using .

*If you don't really need to use flash or you are trying save the flash, please use this technique*


OR ***THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE*** (Maximise Damage + Skills)

In simple words:

Change to Mercury Cannon Form.

Activate run through it to gain movement speed, catch up to the enemy.

Auto-attack him to lower his Armor and Magic Resist then then Shock Blast him

Change to Hammer Mode then Activate to slow the enemy + Auto Attack for extra magic damage

Finally, them towards your laning teammate.


These are combos for only Lvl 2 Ganks. Once you leveled up all of your skills then it's time for the real ganks during Mid Game.

Jayce Ganks Mid Game

Use the same Technique as if you were clearing out your Jungle


Gank like as if you are clearing your jungle, this will Maximise your possibility of Securing that Kill when ganking.
However, you should not Shock Blast through first because they will know that you are coming.
Instead, just Activate and then run towards the Enemy or Around the Enemy like a Lvl 2 gank.


In Simple Letters: E W R Q E W

This will do the most damage. After this combo, you can also go back to your Mercury Form and still attack the enemy with the + combo or simply just ing and AutoAttacking All Day.

Jayce is a ganking hero because he should not be spending so much time in his jungle considering how FAST he can clear his jungle.

There are many ways to gank as Jayce but these are the ways to Maximise your Damage and not waste any of your abilities.

Jayce Mobility Late Game

At Lvl 18 Jayce is BEYOND MOBILE. Here, I'll Show You


This is why Jayce Late Game is so scary.

-His movement speed is crazy good and can run around the map as quick as possible

-Can Chase carries or Escape from carries SO QUICKLY

-His Rollout out of Spawn is incredibly FAST


HOW TO GAIN MS AND KEEP IT CONSTANT AS POSSIBLE


1. Activate Mercury Cannon Form (Movement Speed Increased)

2. Then QUICKLY Activate your and go through it. (Even longer Increased Movement Speed)

What does this do?

This will put your in a 10 second cooldown and your in a 6 Second Cooldown

The fastest time for your to come off of cooldown is right at the 5 Second Cooldown Mark of your while in Mercury Cannon Form


3. Activate the to go into Hammer Mode (Movement Speed Increased)
- *This should be right at the 5 Second Mark of the Acceleration Gate when you were in Mercury Form*

4. Wait for your 6 Second Cooldown on your to go back into Mercury Form

5. Once it's off cooldown, Repeat the Steps 1 and 2. Activate Mercury + Acceleration Gate and then go through it.

Etc. then the Combo continues on....

If you calculated right, there's only 1 second of the Acceleration Gate "wasted" because the has a 6 Second Cooldown and can be ONLY ACTIVATED RIGHT AT THE 5 Second cooldown Mark of Acceleration Gate when you were in Mercury Form.

This will ensure, your is backup when you switch back into Mercury Form.

Pretty Complicated huh?

How to Utilize the Acceleration Gate + Passive (Full Potential)

***You MUST Remember TWO things***


1. Ultimate Form (when switching) gives Ghost for a short duration (Movement speed is increased from 371 to 412 with )

2. Acceleration Gate while in Mercury Form Gives 499 Movement Speed when Stacked with Ultimate Passive Ghost


In simple words from this video:

IF you are in NEED to run away AS FAST AS POSSIBLE


You MUST do the following:

1. While in Mercury Cannnon Form, Place Acceleration Gate RIGHT ON YOU or NEAREST possible place to you

2. Then Activate your Ultimate Form (this will change you to Mercury Hammer Mode - which allows you to the enemy away that's chasing you.

This will give you that QUICK BURST of movement speed (from 371 to almost MAX 500 movement speed w/ )


***Acceleration Gate and Ultimate Form Passive DO STACK***



If you need to get out of spawn OR to get to places as FAST AS POSSIBLE


You MUST do the following to Gain CONSTANT Movement Speed:(w/ 5 second delay on the Mercury Hammer Form)

1. While in Mercury Hammer Form, Activate your Transform into Mercury Cannon Form

2. This will give you that Ghost Movement speed buff for a short duration

3. As soon as the Ghost Image disappears on the Middle HUD, Activate your Acceleration Gate to Gain Constant Movement Speed buff

4. Then Switch Back to Mercury Hammer Form by Activating Transform after the Acceleration Gate Movement Speed buff Disappears (By this Time your Transform should be off cool down)

5. Repeat the Steps Over and over again.


This will ensure a Constant Ghost/Movement Speed Buff


***There's a 5 second CD on the ultimate form when switched back to Hammer Form after Activating Acceleration Gate where you have no movement speed buff for exactly 5 Seconds, but that's it***

Team Fights w/ Jayce

He has a very Good + Annoying + High Damage Poke

Although, he cannot initiate the Team Fight at all, he can poke so hard that the enemies need to recall before they die in a greatly timed initiation from the enemy team (especially when the enemies are low on HP)

His + Combo is very deadly in terms of damage and also most importantly: VISION.

You should Remember that this ONLY gives vision on the spot shoot at, so it's not an Hawk Shot where it gives all the vision near/throughout the arrow's projectile motion

Your Acceleration Gate actually gives Vision like 's Wall of Pain

Also, a normal can still gives vision without the Acceleration Gate.

HOWEVER

I think the + Grants you more vision because the explosion is bigger I believe and the range is also higher so you can see spots your team cannot reach.

Jayce Jungle Pros and Cons

Some Tips and Problems with Jayce Jungle


- Under-leveled + Under-Farmed If you don't successfully gank and kill the enemy

- Don't play jayce Jungle if Mid laner needs blue buff

- Lane-ganking is NOT amazing with Jayce, needs someone else to Stun + CC to Gank

- CC Team is REQUIRED with Jayce, his positioning to get into to use his is quite hard without hard cc from your teammates (unless you use your )

- Need to CONSTANTLY GANK in Early to Mid game or farm very well after getting Tear.

Think of yourself as a SOLO Q CARRY DPS JUNGLE

Jayce is a Late Game Champion, once fed and farmed after level 6 he is VERY SCARY

- FASTEST Jungle Clears in the Game (using a lot of mana tho)

- Strong Lvl 2 Ganks

- CC + Stun + Knock Back + Slow

- Ultimate Ready at Level 1

- Almost Constant Ghost (Mobile)

Leave the videos they're OK but reading the guide was as if I'm at school and a teacher's trying to beat information in my head by repeating it so many times

@Unholyshift i thought you were talking about my videos as well...not just the texts, anyways i made a commentary on jungle jayce that should sum up everything in simple sentences that you want

Whaaaaaaaaaat?! My point is about the unnecessary text in this guide heck if I were to make a video along with this guide I'd do it in a bot game too.

@Slow_Runner maxing W is not the point of jayce and the point of jayce is to gank and not clear jungles, you WILL be behind in cs and levels if you fuck up your ganks. this champion is very gank reliant and level reliant. however this guys NEVER useless even if hes not farmed considering how much utlity he gives to the team, maxing Q is a must because its a reliable "Target mark and click" it does an AoE dmg and its an initator, maxing E over W or Q is for laning to max that dmg everytime they go for a cs for example i wud E them back and it hits like a truck. maxing Q first then W just makes him useful in teamfights and thats all hes : LATE GAME TEAMFIGHTS thats it, if you let him farm from early to mid and get really good ganks going on which is really not that hard to do since he has such low mana cost so u can keep ganking with him but u need to secure kills or assists at least. this guys not about crit dmg, this guy is about the STUN, the E is what makes this guy so dangerously good at ganking and also CDR is really not needed for this he already has such low cooldown on his abilities, hes about Attack Damage and also he needs to be at least a bit tanky. when i ever go in with Q the team will focus me and my hexdrinker passive will pop and IDK how many times that helped me survive at least 3 times in a row in teamfights and ganks. its crazy good item on jayce, dont need lifesteal , CDR, crit, or anything hes just about spamming his skills in a specific order so that he can get out the max dmg possible

Try maxing out W first. Lvl 3 W damages wraiths almost from 100% to 0%. When clearing camps, start in cannon stance, fire off a Q, hit W, instantly switch to hammer and activate W. Hit the biggest thing in the camp with the 3 super-charged hammer hits (gaining mana in the process) and pound it with E. Switch to Cannon stance when moving to the next camp and repeat.



Maxing W gives the biggest benefits IMO because it gives you endless mana sustain, HUGE AoE base damage increase on W (70 per lvl) and it gives you insane burst with 3x AS 2.5 hits hitting for +30% damage each (at lvl5) and those hits can crit too and the damage modifier is applied to the crit as well. Because Hyper Charge is such an crazy AS steroid, you should invest in crit chance as well when building Jayce.



IMO forget Hexdrinker and get a vamp scepter and a brutalizer instead. Hexdrinker only adds the +35AD to your jungle. Brutalizer givs you +25AD, 15 ArP, 10% CDR and costs 500g less, which you can use to buy a vamp scepter for jungle sustain (or a Doran's, giving you equal AD as the Hexdrinker). You can build brutalizer into Yomumuu's, giving you crit, more AD, CDR and ArP as well as an amazing active for Jayce (as you can proc the active with the hyper charge hammer blows and almost instantly bump the active duration to 8 seconds).



Also IMO you should rune for ArP because his main damage is physical (hyper charge hits, and both Qs), so investing in ArP gives you much more damage, even in the jungle (jungle mobs have armor but no MR).

@Lyrannikin yes im trying my best to get a very good game while jungle jaycing, im finding it quite hard tho i have been solo Qing and Jayce is really team dependent and the team needs to STOP feeding so that this guy can survive till late game. this guys a late game champion, like really late game champion thats why this kind of champ will be very good in high elo games, just gank gank gank then farm farm farm after level 6 and this guys hella fed and its over. gg
