Champion Matchups

Introduction

Hello League Players,
My name is WildWang and I am a Mordekaiser main. Mid Lane is a lane that can be snowballed easily and must be played with precision. Sadly at the moment ,Mordekaiser doesn't fit in the current meta, but come Season 4, I believe he will become a strong mid laner.

Mordekaiser has a weak Pre-Level 6 Game, but after that becomes extremely strong. He excels in the Mid to Late Game, but lacks a Gap Closer, but his absurd amount of damage makes up for it. He should be played with caution throughout the game, but he has the ability to single handily carry a game. Check out my blog! championguideslol.wordpress.com

Pros:
+ A complete farm machine
+ His shield makes him give harass and take none back
+ His ult gives you an extra player which can make a team fight 6v4
+ A game changer
+ Extreme burst potential
+ By far best 1v1 in game
+ Can snowball extremely hard

Cons:
- Focused by jungle and extremely gankable (nothing a few well-placed wards can't stop)
- No crowd control
- Easy to counter (Cass, Swain)
- Auto pushes the lane
- Melee (Spells have rather short range, besides ult)

The "Offensive" Page

Explanation:
This is the standard Mastery Page for Mordekaiser. It gives him the Defensive capabilities to survive during Laning Phase with his Passive, while it maximizes his potential Damage Output.

Summoner's Wrath: Grants a free +5 AD/AP just for using Ignite.

Sorcery: Grants 3% CDR, which is extremely useful in building your shield quicker, and increasing damage dealt.

Blast: Grants a small amount of AP each Level. This is useful as it scales well in to Late Game, and increases his damage.

Havoc: Increases damage dealt by 2%. This is a small increase in his damage output and overall let's him create his shield faster.

Arcane Knowledge: This is a very useful Mastery Point as when used in conjunction with Magic Penetration Marks and a Void Staff should ignore the greater part of their Magic Resist, therefore increasing your damage by a tenfold.

Mental Force: This is a decent Mastery Point as it increases your damage slightly and just gives you a small boost of Ability Power.

Spellsword: This Mastery Point, when used in conjunction with your Mace of Spades (Q), should bolster the damage slightly.

Archmage: This Mastery Point, increases the damage you can deal by quite a bit as it gives a good boost of Ability towards the Late Game.

Executioner: This Mastery Point, when used with your Ultimate + Ignite combo when they're at Low HP, will usually guarantee a kill.

Durability: I put 4 Points in to Durability to increase my Survivability Late-Game and during Lane-Phase.

Resistance: I put 3 Points in to Resistance if I'm against an AP Mid Laner. This gives me more survivability as it increases my Magic Resist. If I'm against an AD Mid Laner, than put 3 points in to Hardiness and 1 point in to Perseverance.

Veteran's Scars: Overall, increases my survivability by a little.

Why Did I Not Pick these Masteries?

Fury: Mordekaiser is a skill-based champion, not an Auto-Attack Based Champion.

Lethality: Mordekaiser doesn't Critical Strike, as he mainly uses his Spells, although it may Augment Mace of Spades Damage (Q).

Frenzy: Mordekaiser doesn't Auto-Attack, which makes this Mastery Point useless on him.

Butcher: Butcher is usually taken in the Korean Meta for most champions. If you are having trouble Last Hitting, I recommend taking 2 points out of Sorcery and put it in to Butcher.

Brute Force: Mordekaiser doesn't have any AD Scaling Skills besides his Q, which has a low ratio.

Weapon Expertise: Mordekaiser's skills deal Magic Damage, besides Q which deals mixed damage. Therefore, he doesn't need Armour Penetration.

Sunder: Mordekaiser doesn't need Sunder as he doesn't deal Attack Damage meaning Armour Penetration is useless on him

Summoners Resolve: Unless you have a Defensive Spell (ie. Barrier) or Jungling Mordekaiser, this Mastery Point doesn't do anything for you.

Perseverance: Perseverance is not a bad Mastery and I would recommend it if you're having trouble dealing with his Health Costs early. Take points out of Hardiness/Resistance if you wish to put points in Perseverance.

Tough Skin: Unless you're Jungling or intend to proxy Mid-Lane, this skill is not the best choice.

Bladed Armour: Useful for Jungling, but not very good for Lane Mordekaiser.

Hardiness: Put 3 Points in to Hardiness if you are vs. an AD Mid Laner. Take 2 points from Resistance and put in to Hardiness.

Explanation:
This is a defensive Mordekaiser mastery page. This is primarily used for hard counters such as Cassiopeia. This is an extremely safe page as it gives you early HP Regen, MR, Armor, and Health, thus more survivability.

Runes

Explanation:
I get magic pent. marks, flat AP quints, magic resist , and health over time seals for the following reason. Health scales well with Mordekaiser as it gives him more durability, which is what he needs in big team fights. Magic penetration and AP quints are a typical caster's runes and help Mordekaiser build his shield faster. Also help him to scale well late, while having a good start to the lane. Lastly I pick magic resist glyphs as your a melee champ and you'll often be bullied as you go in for a last hit. You could also consider going for armor glyphs to deal with auto attacks, but I believe magic resist is better to aid your weak lane phase. Some people prefer MR per level, but I believe that flat MR works better for Mordekaiser. Consider HP regeneration seals for harder lanes as they provide him with lots of sustain.

Other Runes:
Quintessences:
Spell Vamp - Helps him to sustain in lane in the early levels.
Movement Speed - Extremely good with Morde. Help him close the gap between speedier champs.
Cooldown Reduction - They are good with Morde as they help him spam his abilities that much more, but there are better quints.
Defense/Magic Resistance - A decent choice, only use if your in a lane that you feel like you'll lose.
Health - Not bad with Morde, but there's better quints.

Marks:
Ability Power - Won't recommend these. Magic pent. are the best.

Seals:
Health Regen - Good with Morde in the early laning phase as his spells cost hp. Helps for harder lanes.
Armor - Good for tanking damage, but I recommend HP as your passive will tank the damage for you in lane.

Glyphs:
Flat AP - Good in laning, but desn't do so well late game.
AP per level - Scales well and bolsters his damage.
Cooldowns - AP per levels are better than CDR.

Explanation:
Same as the previous build I run hp per level seals, magic penetration marks and flat AP quints. I than choose to switch the flat MR runes for AP per level glyphs. This supplements your AP and thus your damage. This than translates in to getting your shield up quicker. The only weak spot about this build is your susceptible to early game harass and your going to have to turtle with a champ that often auto pushes the lane. The AP per level definitely aids your late game though. If you run AP per level glyphs you should consider HP Regen seals to help out with early game sustain.

Summoner Spells

Explanation:

Scales extremely well with your ult. The 2 DoTs will allow you to ult + ignite them when they are around 25-40% hp and ignore them in fights.

Good for gap closing and getting out of tough positions. Flash+E+R will help you guarantee a kill.

- Reasonable skill. It would work well with Mordekaiser shield, but Ignite or Exhaust are a better alternative just because Mordekaiser is mainly offensive.
- Your not a support.
- You got no mana bro.
- Cleanse is decent enough, but its not as good as flash or ignite.
- A good summoner, only get it if no one on your team is running exhaust, or if your against a tough lane.
- Gone.
- Also gone.
- Can you ghost through walls? No. It helps for chasing, but flash is almost always better for an AP caster.
- You don't need heal. Your morde, your ult gives you almost all your hp back.
- BAD.
- ALSO BAD.
- If your dyrus run revive. Otherwise don't run revive.
- Jungle Mordekaiser OP HUEHUEHUE
- Ignite pubstomps this spell.
- You don't really need this spell.

Skills

Passive: Iron Man
30% of the damage dealt from abilities is converted into a temporary shield, absorbing incoming damage. Shield regeneration is half effective versus minions. Minimum shield strength is 120 health, and the maximum is 630 health. The shield decays by 3% per second.

Explanation:
This is what makes you the brazilian #1. This is what makes the other team rages. It basically gives you a huge shield that absorbs damage for you. This is why you want to button mash on morde. Basically spam your abilities in team fight and your shield should build so fast that you won't take damage. This is why you want to kite stuns as you won't be able to build up your shield and be worthless in team fights. How do you build up your shield? You build up your shield by casting spells and the damage you deal is than converted by 30% in to a shield. Simple explanation, casting spells gives you a shield that blocks damage and the more damage you do the faster the shield builds up.

Q: Mace of Spades
On next hit, Mordekaiser swings his mace with such force that it echoes out, striking up to 3 additional nearby targets, dealing his attack damage plus 20 / 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 bonus damage (+40% of ability power). If the target is alone, the bonus damage is increased by 65%.

Cost 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 health

Explanation:
This does insane damage. If you proc it lich bane with it, you should do crazy damage to a single target. Basically camp a bush, and if someone decides to run in to it, you Q + E + R and he's dead. Dead before he even realizes he's dead. Use Q to reset AA timer when:
a.) Attacking turret
b.) To get a tough last hit

W: Creeping Death
Unleashes a protective cloud of metal shards to surround an ally, increasing their armor and magic resistance by 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 and dealing 20 / 35 / 50 / 65 / 80 (+15% of ability power) damage per second to enemies in the cloud for 6 seconds.

Cost 26 / 32 / 38 / 44 / 50health
Range 750

Explanation:
Gives your initiator some MR and Armor if you use it on him. Other wise you use it on yourself for more durability and to build up your shield. The damage adds up so don't underestimate it. Also you can use this spell to get hard to reach minions by using it on a faraway minion near the almost dead minion. You can also level this spell at 2/3/4 depending on the lane. Level up Q at level 2 if they are melee or you have trouble last hitting and get it at level 3 if you just want to have a level in each spell for more versatility or just get it at level 4 because you have nothing else to add a point in.

E: Siphon of Destruction
Mordekaiser damages enemies in a cone in front of him, dealing 65 / 110 / 155 / 200 / 245 (+40% of ability power) magic damage.

Cost 24 / 36 / 48 / 60 / 72 health
Range 700

Explanation:
One of the best skills in the game. Level it up whenever you can. Its an extremely powerful AoE cone that you mainly use to harass. At level 9 your E should kill the caster minions and 1 Q should kill the remaining melee minions. Also the damage from the siphon goes slightly passed the end of the cone.
In team fights try to hit this spell on everyone to maximize its damage and to get your shield up immediately. Also in lane phase use this spell to clear wraiths extremely fast. Be careful not to use this spell too much as it will push the lane. If you can just hit the champion with your E do it.

R: Children of the Grave
Curses an enemy champion for 8 seconds, stealing 3 / 3.5 / 4% life per second, plus an additional 0.1% per 50 AP.

If the target dies while under the effect of the curse, their soul is enslaved and will follow Mordekaiser for 30 seconds. During this time, Mordekaiser gains 25% of their ability power, and attack damage. The spirit gains 65 / 75 / 85% + (+100% of ability power) of Mordekaiser's adjusted damage, ability power, and 50% + (+100% of ability power) of Mordekaiser's health.

Pets can be controlled by holding the alt key and using the right mouse button.

Range 850

Explanation:
One of the best ults in the game. It turns team fights in to a 6v4. It gives you lots of health back. A good ult should give you a bruiser/ad carry ghost. If you get these ghosts, they deal a ton of damage and also help you to get your shield up and basically make you unkillable as you get a permanent shield with them building it for you. Also remember that this ult can be used defensively. If they attempt to dive you, immediately turn around and throw your ult on the person with the highest max HP as it maximizes the amount of HP you get back. Than throw all your spells E,W,Q at both people and hopefully you get the double kill as your shield takes the damage for you and the ult gives you a good amount of HP back.

SKILL ORDER:

> > >

Level up your ult when possible. After level up your E when possible. Than level up your Q and W.

Item Builds

DFG REBUFFED EXTREMELY STRONG NOW.

Starting:

1st Back:
You should go back when you get around 1400 gold. Always get 1 or 2 wards.

Core Items:

My Final Build:
sorcerers-shoeshextech-gunbladerabadons-deathcapdeathfire-graspguardian-angel

Explanation:
Deathfire Grasp has been nerfed and once again its super strong. DFG works extremely well with your ult as your ult does 30-40% of their Max HP depending on their AP + DFG's 15% Max HP. You can sub DFG out for lich bane depending if you want to split push, or just want more sustained damage. Sorcerer's Shoes and Will of the Ancients are self explanatory, but if your extremely fed and no one else on your team benefits from a WOTA go for a Hextech Gunblade as it gives better stats than a WOTA. I chose Rabadon's Deathcap as it maximizes your damage and Abyssal Scepter for a little more damage while providing some tankiness to survive in team fights. I sometimes switch out Abyssal for Liandry's when they don't have 2 or 3 APs. Liandry provides a good amount of damage with HP which are all good with Morde. I finally finish with a Guardian Angel to provide me with an extra life, which helps a lot and provides me with some tankiness as well. Want to know why GA is the best? Look at the video below. Also since WOTA was made more expensive, it isn't worth it to get it 2nd. I recommend getting it as a 3rd or 4th item, but always get a hextech revolver first.

All Out Damage Morde:

Explanation:
This build maximizes Mordekaiser's damage potential. Recently DFG has been nerfed, so I would get a deathcap before a DFG. Void staff and Sorcerer's shoes provide the Magic Pent to get through high MR champs. DFG melts tanks. Will of the Ancients gives you some sustain while giving some AP. Deathcap provides even more damage and abyssal scepter gives you a good amount of AP while providing you with MR to win most trades with AP carries.

Lategame vs AD HEAVY:
OR OR OR OR

Explanation:
This build gives Mordekaiser the damage he needs while giving him the tankiness to survive in team fights. Only choose this build when they have 2/3 champs with an AD presence.

Lategame vs AP HEAVY:
OR OR

Explanation:
This build gives Mordekaiser the core damage he needs while giving him the tankiness to survive in team fights. I choose this build when they have 2/3 champs with AP presence or they have a lot of CC.

Lategame vs BALANCED:
OR OR OR

Explanation:
I choose this build when their team is balanced and don't have one dominate strength (AD/AP). This gives you the perfect mixture of armor,hp,magic resist, and AP.

Decent Items:

Explanation:
These items are not the best for Mordekaiser, but they still benefit him. Not as much as other items, but they are viable.

Boot Enhancements

: Decent Enchantment but I rather have the +30 MS from Furor that decays over 2 seconds. If you plan on roaming a lot, I recommend these enchantment than.
: This Enchantment is mostly for supports and I do not recommend it for Mordekaiser as this buff does not affect yourself so thus it does not benefit you.
: It only affects your flash/ghost summoner skills so basically it only helps when one of your summoners are down. Strongly not recommended.
: Use this to chase down enemy's that are running away. I tend to ult an ADC who is running away and often catch up to them to finish them off.
: If you have to go back a lot than get this item. Say your against swain and he sends you back every minute. Than get these enchantments to get back faster.

Lane Match-Ups:

Lane Match-Up: Medium
Tips: There aren't many tips to beat Ahri. Its simple, dodge her skill shots. Never get hit by her taunt. Continuously kite as you attack with Mordekaiser. As you E her, move to the left/right so her skill shots miss. If she misses her taunt go all in. When she goes in for AA's hit her with your E as her AA range is a bit lower than your E range.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Easy - Medium
Tips: All of your spells except your ult hit her when she's in her twilight shroud. Pre-6 constantly harass with your siphon. After 6 your shield should block most of her damage, but beware of her burst potential. All you need is a vision ward to beat her, if she some how snowballs get an abyssal scepter. When she goes in to her shroud throw down a vision ward so she can't get away. Watch for her jukes as she can jump from one minion to another.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Medium - Hard
Tips: Don't get hit by her Q. Her Q melts your shield early and when you add her E the damage is significant. After level 6 her burst potential gets even greater. This can be a farm lane, but you must always be wary. Bully her early on and roam early as her early game presence is low due to her MS. After level 6 always have your shield up or else her R E Q E combo will kill you. Watch out for stray walls and a stun following it.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Medium
Tips: Her burst potential is extremely high, but your shield blocks some of the damage. Never get stunned without your shield down or else you'll take tons of damage. If you get flash ulted with no shield your dead. Smartest way to play it is to spam your e to bully her short cast range and to build up your shield. Watch for the smoke animation around her as it tells you that she has her stun up.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Easy - Medium
Tips: He's an easy match up if you play it right. First of all never let him stun you. His pillar of flame is his main damage output. Second of all don't get near minions when he's 6 and his ult is basically useless. Keep those 3 things in mind and its an easy lane. Just be warned that his DoT will go through your shield.

Lane Match-Up: Medium - Hard
Tips: Cassieopia's q absolutely melts through your shield and it outranges your spells significantly. Once you get hit by a q your going to take tons of damage with her twin fang. You can't get caught by her ult, or else your dead. Farm safely, and if you see she's going to q you don't go for the last hit.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Easy
Tips: Cho'Gath lacks the damage to kill you. Unfortunately he's incredibly tanky after lvl 6 and has amazing sustain. You can try to harass him down early, but your goal is to try not let him get 6 stacks. Farm as its a farm lane. Try roaming a lot as well. If you get a DFG, you can burst him down easily though. Watch out for jungle ganks.

Lane Match-Up: Easy - Medium
Tips: Diana has great burst potential. Don't feed her early and back out when her shield is up. Try dodging her q's so her ult doesn't get reset. If she misses her Q, or if her shield is on cooldown you can definitely go in. Harass her with E and Q whenever she tries to go in for a last hit. If she goes in on you turn on her immediately to build up your shield before backing out.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Medium
Tips: She has strong harass with her neurotoxin (q), venemous spider (w) and her spider spells don't cost mana. Keep your shield up at all times to counter harass and dodge cocoon. If there are no minions of yours near her she'll drop down in 2 seconds. In spider form, you can afford to go more aggressive, but back out when her w is up. Try to aim your spells on spiders as well as her to maximize shield.

Lane Match-Up: Easy - Medium
Tips: Don't let her snowball and you win. She can't kill you until she has her DFG Ult Combo. Harass her with siphon. Don't let her roam. If she roams, make sure to follow as she's a pest if she snowballs. Or if she roams push that tower down and keep on pressuring the other turret.

Lane Match-Up: Easy - Hard
Tips: He's generally an easy match-up, but his heal debuff doesn't help you out. He has the burst potential to kill you and the DoT to get through your shield. Try to dodge his fish and he shouldn't have enough damage to kill you. Harass him when he tries to go in for last hits. Also he's an assassin based champ, if you don't feed him he's useless late game.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Easy
Tips: Incredibly easy lane. Get 2 wards early and ward wraith junction and river. Push the lane to turret every single time. You should be able to burst him easily when you get a deathcap. Just push to his turret to deny cs and take wraiths from your jungle and their jungle. Might help to get Mercs just in case.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Medium
Tips: He's extremely annoying. He has considerable poke and his spells all go through your shield. Harass him with siphon whenever you can and dodge his skillshots it should become an easy lane. You shouldn't be able to kill him as he will just stack MR. Watch out for his flash - ult in teamfights or when a jungler comes to gank. Try to buy Sorcerer's Shoes to counteract his huge MR or build Mercury's Treads if you can't dodge his skillshots.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Easy
Tips: He can hardly get through your shield. Harass with siphon and go in for the kill with your ult. Only reason you would die to him is if he got a jungle gank and you got caught by his stun or his turret's slow.

Lane Match-Up: Easy
Tips: Her auto attacks are annoying, but you can sustain it all with your hextech revolver. Its impossible for you to lose this lane unless you get severely overplayed. Watch out for a flash monsoon.

Lane Match-Up: Easy
Tips: One of the easiest lanes you'll ever face. Yes his Q out ranges you, but your siphon hits him incredibly hard. Don't get caught by a wall and jungle gank and you should be fine. You should harass him incredibly hard to make him go back early. You will want to win this game early as he outscales you late game with his ult and E. If he uses his ult early on in the game your shield should block most or all of the damage.

Lane Match-Up: Easy
Tips: Harass with q when he tries to go in for a last hit. His silence can't go through your shield. Make sure your shield is always up though. Don't feed him and he'll be incredibly useless. When you get him low, make sure you ult him so even if he riftwalks away you'll still get the kill. Your ult outranges his riftwalk range.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Medium - Difficult
Tips: She has the potential to kill you incredibly fast, but she also has the potential to die to you. Harass her when she goes in for last hits or to q you. When she goes for the q w, or q e combo use your w and hit her with your q. She should not get through your shield until lvl 5. She has very good roaming potential so make sure you follow her.

Tips: Should mostly be a farm lane. You should always push to turret unless you have no wards. Harass him with siphon when he tries to e through the minions. Careful of getting stunned than followed by a jungle gank. Try dodging his q. When he tries to e you hit him with your q + w.

Recommended Items:

Lane Match-Up: Medium - Hard
Tips: This is a difficult match up for Mordekaiser. Try to harass early on, but beware of Kha'zix level 3 burst damage. Try to fight near minions, as his Q does a lot more damage when you're isolated. You should not try to 1v1 until you have ult. When you have ult, trading and dueling becomes much easier.

Recommended items:

Lane Match-Up: Medium - Hard
Tips: Don't feed her. Focus on cs and try to stay out of her range. If she doesn't get fed she's incredibly useless late game. If she w's to you try to w yourself and always keep your shield up to minimize her damage potential.

Recommended Items:

Lane Match-Up: Easy
Tips: This match up is easy for Mordekaiser. She has strong harass and range on you, but you have more burst than her. Merc Treads are a must for this match-up as she has a lot of CC (Ult, Snare).

Recommended Items:

Lane Match-Up: Easy - Medium
Tips: She outranges you incredibly far. Try to dodge her spells as her auto attacks + passive hurt. If you can get your shield up she won't be able to combo you with her Q E R AA combo. Also if you feel like she's going to kill you, ult her. It'll save you. Dodging her skill shots will win you the lane though.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Hard
Tips: Try not to stay near minions when his e gets near you as it goes right through your shield and damages your hp as well. Never get caught by her suppress because often that suppress will kill you. A difficult lane. Your shield gets completely melted by him.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Easy - Medium
Tips: To be honest AP yi is bad. If you happen to go against AP yi just push to turret. His alpha strike will get through your shield but not a lot. Try to harass him a lot early game so he wastes his mana with meditate. In team fights he's useless as if he doesn't get the CD reset all he can do is go in to meditate till his CD is back up.
Lane Match-Up: Easy
Tips: Morgana often pushes the lane so it helps you to not auto push the lane. Harass her with your siphon as it has the same range as her aa/pool. Make sure her binding doesn't hit though. You should easily win this lane.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Easy
Tips: Push lane in early as its hard to last hit at turret with nidalee. She has good roaming potential, but like you she offers no crowd control. Dodge her spears and it should be an easy lane. Her cougar form does a lot more damage than expected, but barely gets through your shield.
Lane Match-Up: Mediud
Tips: She has a decent amount of range. If you play it right you should win. Her shield also counteracts your ultimate ignite combo. Its hard to kill her, but you can do it. Aim to harass with your E. Her auto attacks are painful as they do lots of damage to your shield. Watch out for her ult.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Easy - Medium T
Tips: He deals a lot more damage than you late game and he's tankier. You might be able to bully him in lane, but once he leaves lane he's a force to be reckoned with. Try to shut himdown early Focus on pushing to turret early as his farming ability under turret isn't very good early on. Focus on pushing to turret, but not getting caught by his snare. His Q + E should not get through your shield till early-mid game. Try to deny as much cs as possible.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Medium
Tips: This lane is supringily difficult. His stun + shield are extremely annoying as they go through your shield easily. Play safe and farm at turret if you have to. He falls off late game, so try not to feed him.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Hard
Tips: His E absolutely melts your shield. His EQW combo is extremely painful as it takes a quarter to half your hp every time. To add to your misery he's extremely tanky and has tons of sustain to deal with your harass. Focus on farming and staying out of his spell's range.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Easy - Medium
Tips: She out ranges you pretty hard, but her Q does not go through your shield and its easy to dodge her throw. Beware though. Her damage is underestimated. If you notice she has a lot of dark spheres out and she's level 6 be extremely careful as it can do incredible amounts of damage.
Lane Match-Up: Easy - Medium
Tips: You should not lose this lane. If he tries to silence you spam auto attacks on him and when the silence is over Q + E. Try to get your Q or W off before he silences you. Should be an easy lane for you, but make sure you have your shield up when you want to fight him.
Lane Match-Up: Easy
Tips: Her E might get through your shield, but she barely has any more follow up damage. If she jumps in to you make sure your Q W E her. Try to keep away from your minions when they are low as her E passive deals a decent amount of damage. When she jumps on you try to stay away from minions as the damage can add up fast.
Lane Match-Up: Easy
Tips: When he picks a card, just move away from him. Dodge his q and it'll be an easy lane. Harass with siphon and when he uses his ult and teleports, push down his turret.
Lane Match-Up: Easy - Medium
Tips: Try not to get caught by his E W Q R combo. Early on push him to turret and it'll screw him over. Harass him repeatedly with siphon. Always be wary for his stun and a jungle gank followed by it. Pre 6 is incredibly easy, After lvl 6 you should be careful. His Q will not go through your shield.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Easy - Medium
Tips: He's underrated. He does lots of damage and all his spells can go through your shield. Watch out for his stun, and the silence from his ult. Harass with your E whenever possible. Push to turret as it isn't easy to cs at turret with him.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Easy - Medium
Tips: He out sustains you big time. He has a spell that makes him untargetable and he out ranges you. Harass with your E and when he pools to get in walk away and Q when he becomes targetable again. Ult when he ults you to counteract it.

Lane Match-Up: Medium
Tips: He is severely underplayed. His range can not be beat by anybody else. He can cast his ult 3 times. One Q will kill your shield. You can't damage him before he'll kill you. When his W is down try to harass him as it knocks down his range by quite a bit.

Lane Match-Up: Hard
Tips: You should try to harass him out of lane early. After level 6, he will snowball incredibly hard and has kill potential on you. If you are going to fight him, fight him around your turret. Watch out for his burst.

Lane Match-Up: Medium
Tips: Ziggs is a high ranged caster. His passive melts through your shield and he outranges you by quite a bit. He has a decent amount of burst potential and has the ability to roam. Try to harass him with siphon whenever he mispositions himself. Try to stay away from minions as his q is a medium nuke. Kiting and roaming are keys this lane.

Recommended Items:
Lane Match-Up: Easy
Tips: Zilean only has 2 damaging spells and no sustain. Harass with siphon and build your shield up whenever he time bombs you. He lacks the damage to kill you. Go all in offensive whenever the jungler isn't camping mid. Just becareful of his ult bait.

Lane Match-Up: Hard
Tips: Zyra has decent range on her spells. Her W + Q deals significant damage to you and goes through your shield and through your health as well. You can't let her hit her snare after level 6 as its extremely painful. If you ult Zyra, you don't get her ghost till she uses her passive so be careful about that too. Just play this lane safe and sit at turret to farm.

Early Game

Mordekaiser's early game is rather weak. He's extremely susceptible to ganks as he auto pushes the lane. When you play Mordekaiser, depending on who your up against, you either push the lane to turret or you attempt to freeze lane. When ever you push the lane try to take wraiths from either your jungle or their jungle. Also start roaming top and bottom if you push to turret. Try to get every cs and try to only you your siphon on the enemy and not on his minions as it can push the lane rather fast. Always have a ward at enemy's wraith junction/river and left side river. Focus on ganking bot frequently.

Mid Game

Mid game is where Mordekaiser shines. You should typically have around 180 - 220 cs at 20 minutes. Constantly roam bot and mid and push lane to turret. Focus on taking enemy's wraiths every single time to deny jungle cs. Be careful to not get caught in between mid lane and jungle when taking wraiths. If you managed to catch mid off guard capitalize immediately. Start pushing out lane for early dragon control and help snowball every lane.

Late Game

This is where things get interesting. Team fights will be breaking out constantly and you'll be fighting for objectives and turrets. Mordekaiser with Lich Bane takes turrets incredibly fast. In team fights try to hit everyone with your AoE. Use your shield on the tank/initiator or yourself. Always ult the AD carry in team fights. In some instances ult the bruiser. You can easily take down anybody with your dfg ult E combo.

Team Fights

Team fights is where Mordekaiser is at his peak. You make team fights 6v4. DFG Ult the AD carry to get his ghost. Remember to alt right click to use your ghost. After you get the ghost you than switch targets to
a.)AP Carry
b.)Peel for the AD carry on your team

After that start spamming buttons on everyone on their team still alive to maximize your AoE damage. You should always have your shield up when spamming your spells. Remember, for Mordekaiser, the best defense is the best offense.

A Few Tips

Tips:
- Cleanse DOES NOT remove Mordekaiser's ult. I tried it in a custom game and it doesn't remove it. Quicksilver sash (QSS) removes it though.
- Kog/Zyra's passive must be activated before you get their ghost
- Mordekaiser's E goes slightly farther than his cone, so take advantage
- Mordekaiser's ult can be used defensively as it gives you a massive amount of your HP back
- Passive Early, Aggressive Mid, Late and in Team Fights
- When you have a ghost, constantly kite with Mordekaiser and get your ghost to attack them (useful when your low on hp)

Synergies

Mordekaiser like any other champ has unique synergies that maximizes their potential. In this chapter I shall be discussing champs he has a strong synergy with and why they have a strong synergy.

- Mordekaiser and Vladmir have a very strong synergy because of the double WOTA. This doubles your spell vamp and ablity power from this item and you really notice it in team fights. He also synergies with Vlad because Vlad's ult boosts his damage by 10/14/18% and this damage makes his ult deals more damage. The 2 DoT will make sure the target dies for sure!

- Mordekaiser and Yorick have an extremely strong synergy because Yorick can ult Morde's ghost. If you can get an extremely fed ADC on their team times 2, you automatically win the team fight. 3 ADC's on your team, an extremely daunting prospect.

- Mordekaiser and Malphite have a good synergy as Malph's AoE added with Morde's AoE is tremendous. Malphite ults in and gets a 5 man knock up and your shield (W) adds damage to his already powerful ult. Malphite than uses his E + W to add more consistent AoE damage while you use your E + Q to finish it off. A very dynamic duo.

- Mordekaiser and Skarner have a good synergy as Skarner can ult the ADC right in to you and you get the easy AD carry ghost. Usually its hard to get in range of an ADC to ult them, but with Skarner he makes your life easier.

- Mordekaiser and Rumble again have the double WOTA synergy that makes them so powerful. Rumble's ult let's you catch up to people to ult and you both have significant AoE damage.

- Kennen and Mordekaiser also have the double WOTA. Kennen can also initiate the fight and get his stuns off for you to clean up with your spells.

- Blitzcrank pulls a Bruiser or an ADC to you. NP free ghost, just like Skarner he helps initiate fights and get you a ghost that turns the fight around.

- Jarvan keeps the enemy team in place for you to land all your spells easily. With the type of damage you have the potential to unleash, the chance for you to leash all that power on 5 people easily makes team fights easy for you to win. Also keeps the ADC in place for you to ult.

Warding Spots

Mordekaiser auto pushes the lane, which is bad. If you want to play Mordekaiser you need to know where to ward so you aren't as susceptible to ganks. Remember map awareness is key and wards are also key. Basic warding spots for mid.

Final Comments

If your looking for a champ, I recommend getting Mordekaiser. He's the reason I moved from 500 elo to 1300 elo and constantly going up. He's a game changer for sure. He's extremely fun and a force to be reckoned with. 3 spells that are AoE and an ult that gives you a ghost for 30 seconds. The only bad thing about him is the lack of crowd control and in this meta, we favor crowd control mids that roam oftentimes. Mordekaiser roams constantly, but he lacks the ability to stun and slow. Mordekaiser is a farm monster and should easily out farm most champs. Thanks for reading my guide and give me feedback! I shall be updating this guide often.

One of the most in depth guides I have ever seen. I saw results immediately. In my very first game in fact, I was able to get a nonakill. If only that scrub didn't take my shot at a decakill. I in fact one the game in a minute and 22 seconds, and was instantly promoted from level 4 to level 30 Diamond 1 Kog Maw's Horde. The league of legends community owes you infinite thanks.

By far one of the best Morde guides I have read in a long time. It combined lots of up to date information and statistics with the simplicity for a beginner player like me; it helped me improve a lot. This type of guide really shows the caring and talented player base we have in the game. Thank you so much for all you hard work.

Definitely a great starting point, but you've got a couple of issues:

1. Skill order must be a separate chapter, and there should be reasoning behind why each of the skills are taken in that order.

2. Which masteries are critical to Morde or somewhat unorthodox? Explain for each.

3. You explain almost nothing in summoner spells. Just ranking them is not good enough. Tell us why they're ranked in that order (at least for all the viable ones). Btw surge, promote and rally are gone.

4. The remainder of your guide contains a lot of commands (if this, do this kind of statements), but with none of the oh so necessary why and how. Remember, this guide is not for people experienced at playing Mordekaiser at a high level. So you have to explain any and everything you do in detail.

Might want to think about health regen yellows or quints for harder lanes so u can simply outlast/lvl them then build your tank/ap from there

You forgot to mention that it is mandatory to say "MORDEKAISE IS NUMERO UNO HUEHUEHUE" after every kill you make, otherwise a great guide.
