Hello there, my SN is now xxJiGGY (previously Fearl3ssLamb) and I main Singed. I have been playing Singed for quite awhile. I have the highest win ratio with him and I enjoy playing him the most out of all other champions. I'm here to help anyone looking for information on how to build Singed in Season 3. This guide isn't just for the Top lane. I can play Singed in any lane, even as support and if you enjoy playing Singed as much as I do, then this guide is for you :) I hope you learn a lot from this no matter what lane you get into. S3 ITEM CHOICES

Crystaline Flask:

  • The active cannot be used simultaneously with Health Potion and Mana Potion.

  • The sell value of this item is particularly low in relation to its cost.

  • Relative to potions, and assuming you eventually sell it, Crystalline Flask pays for itself once a champion uses its 4th charge. When not taking into account mana restoration, it will pay off after the usage of its 6th charge.

  • Each charge is worth 37.3 gold compared to potions.

Liandrys Torment:

Stats
+70 ability power
+200 health

Passive: Unique Passive - Eyes of Pain: +15 magic penetration
Unique Passive: Dealing spell damage burns enemies for 5% of their current health as magic damage over 3 seconds. If their movement is impaired, they take double damage from this effect. Multi-target or periodic effects deals 2.5% over 1.5 seconds. 300 max damage vs monsters.

Menu:
Defense > Health
Magic > Ability Power


  • Liandry's Torment procs every half a second. If your spell is single-target, Liandry will tick 6 times. If your spell is AOE (e.g.Poison Trail), Liandry will tick 3 times. And each tick does 5% divided by 6 (0.833333% of enemy's current hp) magic damage every half a second. Of course this proc damage doubles if enemies are slowed (e.g. Rylais Proc), dealing 1.6666666% magic damage every half a second.

  • Therefore, if liandry's debuff is constantly being reapplied (e.g. chasing through poison trail), you can expect the result to be the same as "single-target spell". Therefore, Singed has very strong synergy with this item especially with Rylais Crystal Sceptor.

  • For example, if an enemy's chasing through your poison, has 3000 hp, and you have , you'll deal 50 magic damage (or 100dmg/s, or 300 dmg/3s) every half a second. This might sound very op but once the enemy hit half hp (1500HP in this case), then you can expect the damage of the proc to be halved.

Passive: Unique Passive - Spellblade: After using an ability, your next basic attack deals bonus physical damage equal to 125% of your base attack damage to surrounding enemies and creates a field for 3 seconds that slows enemies inside by 35% (2 second cooldown).

Seraph's Embrace:

Stats
+1000 mana
+60 ability power
+10 mana regen per 5 seconds
Passive: Unique - Insight: Gain ability power equal to 3% of your maximum mana.
Active Unique Active - Mana Shield: Drains 25% of your current mana to shield yourself for an equal amount for 3 seconds (120 second cooldown).

  • By itself, Seraph's Embrace grants 90 AP.
If you own both Archangel's Staff and Manamune before reaching 750 bonus mana, takes priority and will transform into Seraph's Embrace.

  • The transformation drains Mana Charge, leaving the remaining Manamune on 0 bonus mana. This can be recharged, and will transform into Muramana upon completion.

  • It is possible to charge a third for a further 750 bonus mana. Note that the Awe and Insight passives of Archangel's and Manamune, and the transformation passives are unique and so further purchases won't provide anything beyond the base stats.

  • To gain more AP from the Seraph's Embrace than a single (which gives 150 ability power if alone) a champion would need more than 3000 mana. However, a champion would only need 2000 mana for the Seraph's Embrace to provide more ability power than a second Rabadon's Deathcap.

  • Technically, it would depend on how much AP you have. Rabadon's will give 25% of your previous AP plus 150 AP, while seraph's gives 0.03*mana as bonus AP. Setting these equal and solving for mana, you require 8.33*AP+5000 Mana for them to be equal. If you already have a deathcap, the bonus 25% is already there, so it becomes 150 AP vs 1.25(.03*mana). Again, solving for mana, you get 4000 mana.

  • You need to add the base stats of this item so its 150AP from the second deathcap vs 1.25(0.03*mana+60AP) and you get 2000 mana.

S3 Mastery Options:

Off Tank - 7/16/7: I personally believe you can choose whatever mastery setup fits your playstyle. These are just 2 options I am showing you as a guideline. With this setup, it gives you everything necessary to sustain and survive early game and the mana/lvl can help you a lot if you have a problem managing mana before getting your .

Full Tank - 1/28/1: This is of course the primary choice for when I am looking towards building tank instead of splitting up between damage and defense. I find going full tank on Singed is probably your best bet due to the fact you will be facing some tough common top lane champions like and . I will NEVER recommend going deep into your Utility tree however. Even if you plan to play Singed as a support, he is not the typical support choice and does not stay out of range of high damage. He needs to have survivability to be effective in team fights.

Runes

Runes are all up to what you prefer, if you want more AP, you will be swapping out your MS quints for more Damage which can always mean early dominance in lane. Also I find with AP Quints, farming is much easier. But I still am hooked on the Movement Speed Quints since I am an aggressive player with Singed and like to tower dive a lot. If you prefer having a little boost in MS, you can mix up the Quints like I did, and have 2 MS Quints and 1 AP Quint with AP/lvl Glyphs.

Summoner Spells



Explanation:
Ghost is best since you may be CC'ed a lot, it can get you out of pretty tough situations or get you the gap closer you need to pull off a successful .

Ignite is a good choice if you want the early advantage on a kill, you could go or as well to help out in other lanes if they need ganks.

As far as using , it isn't the best thing right now with the new 3 min. CD, and you wont benefit much from it since Singed has a built in escape with his ult.

isnt needed unless you're playing on an ARAM.

Common VS Top laners

His bleed hurts a lot, make sure to carry HP pots, dont forget to consume your but remember you only get 3 charges from that so use them wisely and don't get over confident, he can kill you pretty quick early game if not careful. Start with a , and keep some with you if you need to.

Fiora is a pretty easy lane to win. She has to get in close range to you to harrass or CS so be sure to if she comes near her creeps or comes after you.

When he runs out of mana, you can have an easier time harassing him. But with his W (Remove Scurvy), he will have more sustain against your poison trail and close ranged attacks.

Garen is always an annoying lane opponent. His silence can stop you from toggling your Q on/off, or stop you from using your E at prime times.

Better nerf Irelia..yes, this is a hard counter to Singed no matter how well the player is doing.

He will keep leap striking and stunning you, but usually I am able to win vs Jax. Try kiting him if he turns on his dodge, and stay out of his leap radius. Jax can do a lot of damage in a short amount of time and his passive is scary at lvl 6 with his ultimate. If your struggling against a Jax, just farm at your tower and play safely. Ask for aid from mid lane or your jungler for help.

Like Garen and Jax put together, lot of damage, and very tanky.

Hard to win against, especially with his combos. This is a counter to Singed, so if you happen to get stuck in lane with one, play safe and farm close to your tower. His knockback is brutal if he gets into position you under his tower.

Depends on the player, but like Rengar, you will need to be weary of his jumps from the bushes, so I recommend buying wards as often as possible to prevent him jumping out at you. He has some ranged harass as well.

A good Malphite will build MR against a Singed, and once he does, you will have a hard time damaging him. Malphite is naturally tanky, and has a slow in his kit which can shut down Singed if his jungler comes to gank.

A lot of poke and harass from this guy. Don't push your lane unless your able to out damage him, which is very unlikely.

Do not 1v1 an Olaf. You won't win.

Another hard lane with a lot of harass from his spears. Stay safe, ask for ganks.

Not commonly seen, but figured I would throw her in here just in case you encounter her. Poppy is very tough and with her damage and passive, she won't be easy to take down.

Almost never seen top lane. Although if you do encounter one, he should be pretty easy to push out of lane. Rammus has almost no way to harass you without powerball and taunt. And his CD's a relatively high on those along with mana cost.

Definatly will beat you out of lane.

lots of damage, has a heal and slow. Both good counters to Singed. Stay away from brushes unless you warded them

Can be very easy to win against if you cause him to overheat, just don't get near his flame spitter too often and be weary of his AOE ult.

Hard counter to Singed

Tanky and lots of damage plus a slow

EASY LANE. if your even the worst Singed, you should win your lane.

Knock ups, a slow, be careful

lot of harass from his ghouls. a lane bully. but you should be able to win around mid game.

Zed has much more harass potential than Singed, and has a ranged skill as well. You may have a problem laning against him. As with any counter, farm at tower and ask for ganks.

-Things to Know about Singed Mid-

Singed Mid: Possibly going to be adding a video to both mid and support Singed chapters soon!Depending on who your vs, can be a really tough lane since your going against a ranged AP caster because a lot of times, they have the ability to poke better than you, and can stun and burst you down in a heartbeat. From my personal experience in mid lane with Singed, I have to say some of the worst champions to go against would be:



WHY? Because all of these champions have a lot of poke harass and a stun/slow and can drain your health very quickly. You should never take Singed into lane vs these guys. You will be out farmed by them because you cannot get into close range without being stunned and possibly ganked because you tried farming your minion wave with your poison trail. It's not very fun sitting at tower and having to drink hp pots left and right. However, some easy viable match ups would be:

-Things to Know about Singed Support-

Support Singed: Basic rules apply for any support in bot lane. Leave the farm for your ADC, get GP/10 items, a can work well for mana and hp/regen and you will benefit from the gold passive. Always ward. You are the support so try and aid your carry as much as possible. Use your fling whenever you are able to and always go for the ADC when targeting someone to fling. Singed cannot heal so this may leave your ADC with having to buy some Health pots, but Singed support can be a very strong match up when paired with an ADC that has a slow like or a stun trap like . I would recommend getting armor reds, and armor seals, and GP/10 quints with glyphs of your choice (either AP per lvl, or MR per lvl.) The GP/10 Quints will help you immensely since you won't be able to farm early game. Keep an eye on the map, try to get control of dragon, ask your jungler to come and help you with it. Support Singed requires careful play to be effective as possible when supporting since he solely relies on getting into melee range for a fling which can be hard to do when most supports are ranged auto attackers so harassing their ADC will not be as easy. Make sure you warn your ADC to get into position before you initiate. If you go out of your way to fling and your ADC is heading back to tower, or turning around getting ready for the next minion to farm, you may have a hard time pulling off a kill.

Final Comments

There is no reason not to take Honor Guard, especially considering the masteries you chose. Also, Flask + Pots + Ward looking like it is going to be the dominant start for top lane. The regeneration from them is better than the slight speed advantage from lv. 1 boots.
