Champion Matchups

Introduction

I don't need to do a introduction, because you guys don't even want to know me.

But for these who wants...

I'm SciZ, probably the worst AD Carry Player Europe's.
At the moment, I'm trying to leave the 1800 Elo zone and because I got bored of this, I did a guide for people who wants to be bad as me. Sorry, for my bad english. Change your tampon, if you hate it.

Information about Ashe, the frost Archer

The Lore

One of the perennial favorites of summoners in the League of Legends is the Freljordian beauty known as Ashe. She is a direct descendant of Avarosa - one of three legendary sisters who each claimed dominion over the scattered tribes dwelling in the icy tundra of northern Valoran. Ashe mirrors her ancestor's unparalleled mastery of the bow, earning her the title of "The Frost Archer" the way Avarosa did during her era. Ashe is a literal Princess amongst her people, though she prefers to be addressed by outsiders as her tribal title rather than any form of royal moniker. There are those in Freljord, however, that would prefer to address Ashe as the late Frost Archer; the other two tribes that are descendants from the Three Sisters are historically sworn enemies of Ashe and her people. Having survived more than one assassination attempt in her life, Ashe is always aware of her surroundings regardless of where she is.

Ashe originally came to the Institute of War in service of the League summoners, seeking enough influence and favor to finally bring peace to her realm - one that has endured civil strife since Avarosa and the Time of the Three Sisters. With countless victories under her belt, she has started to put the influence she has earned in the League to use. Rumors abound that Ashe has begun to associate herself with fellow champion Tryndamere outside of the Fields of Justice. While she denies such talk as frivolous, all eyes will remain on Ashe now that her success in the League may finally allow her to restore lasting peace to her people.

Pros and Cons

Here are few pros and cons:

Pro
- Good initiating with her ultimate
- Permaslow
- Mapclearing
- Extremly high Lv 1 damage
- Low mana costs

Cons
- Her volley scales very bad into the late game
- No gapcloser
- No escape abilities
- Her ultimate is easy to dodge

Item Builds

I explain why i buy at the runes chapter: I always start with .
If you want to go on early, go with +.

I prefer Stattik Shiv before Phantom Dancer, but Ashe has already strong waveclearing so she doesn't need the waveclearing effect from the Stattik Shiv. +

After you got these two core items, focus on getting , but if the enemy team stacks already armor try to get first.

Now you got enough damage to carry dummies in solo queue.
It's time for building defensive...

There are few options:
Well, it kinda works. Especially on Vayne. Try it out. Pretty good for early tankyness too.

Does work, but only if you play against HEAVY magic damage. But remember. is a really, really bad late game item.

Does work if you want to poke all day. I actually only use this on Ezreal. Nah, it's not really a solid defensive item, but i use it and it works really well.

Hate this item. It's so freaking good. If you carry your whole team, it's a must to get this.

Like Maw of Malmortius, it's a good item against magic damage.

The new QSS. It gives you now AD too. Very good if you want to survive against heavy CC.

Masteries

Let's move over to the masteries and why am I using these.

SO! I always take 21/5/4 on Ashe.

As you all know, it came new masteries, but it didn't changed that much actually for AD Carries. The utility tree is the same as before. It gives you Mana Regen, what is pretty useful on AD Carries.

And I think I don't need to explain why I take 21 points on the offensive tree... nvm i do it.
These 21 points gives all what you need for an AD Carry. Attack Speed, Attack Damage, Crit etc.

Runes

WELL, LET'S LOOK AT THE RUNES THAT I USE.

I play actually every AD Carry with one Lifesteal% Quint.

I do this, because I'm starting with a on Ashe now. The movement speed got buffed on every Champion, that means you don't go with in the game anymore, because you have already enough MoveSpeed.
But there is one thing: "YOU DONT HAVE NUFF SUSTAIN TO SURVIVE IN THE BOTTOMTOTMT LANE".

-> That's why I use that one Lifesteal% Quint. Plus the Lifesteal from the Dorans you have enough Sustain for surviving.

The rest is actually pretty standard, so I don't need to explain that... ok i do it anyway.

-> Hey, why do you use Armor Seals? Because, you play against a AD Range Champion. You won't survive without bonus armor you fucktard.
-> Hey, why do you use MagicResist Glyphs? Because, you probably play against a supporter too who is dealing a lot of Magic Damage like Sona, Leona, Zyra, Lux or Morgana.
-> And why are you using Attack Damage Marks? Like seriously, like wtf? |AD Marks + AD Carry = Good|

Summoner Spells

Explanation: Pretty standard on a weak early game AD Carry. You should always take Flash, because It's probably the best spell in the game and OP. You can change Cleanse with Heal if you want. If you are against a heavy CC botlane (like Varus, Sona, Taric) you need to take Cleanse, if not just take heal.

..but what's up with the other Summoner Spells?!

You can try it, but i don't recomend it.

Wtf no.

Wtf no.

As I said, good against heavy CC botlanes.

Not bad.

OP. ALWAYS FLASH.

Not even Chuck Norris can take this on Summoners Rift.

better take flash

Very solid spell and useful. It can save your life.

With Flash the most powerful spell in the game.

Wtf no.

You get reported anyway.

Very useful if you want to steal the shit out of your jungler.

Wtf no.

If you want to play hella defensive you can ... probably take this.

Skills

Passive: Focus

Explanation:
Focus allows for many interesting tactics at level 1. Having a crit at level 1 and Volley allows you to burst someone instantly for around 250~ damage, this combined with a stun can be deadly. Ashe is one of the scariest champions to deal with at level 1, as she can invade or defend against invade easily.

Q: Frost Shot

Explanation:
Frost Shot allows Ashe to kite, since it's on her Auto and Volley, it makes catching an Ashe essentially impossible if you don't have Flash. 35% Slow on auto's just scale incredibly well into late-game.

W: Volley

Explanation:
Volley is insanely strong level 1 - 3, then becomes sort of weak since the base damage increases on it is horrible. However the cooldown reduction you get when you level Volley is amazing, allowing for an almost permanent AoE slow combined with Frost Shots.

E: Hawkshot

Explanation:
Hawkshot is maxed last, even though it gives extra gold while killing creeps. Hawkshot is a great scouting tool, incase a ward drops on Dragon/Baron, or if you think you're getting ganked. Hawkshot is also a great play-making tool allowing your jungler to gank easier or hitting a Crystal Arrow.

R: Enchanted Crystal Arrow

Explanation:
Enchanted Crystal Arrow is one of the best initiations in the game. It can completely swing the game around in your favor if you can land this ultimate on a critical target, or catch enemies offguard or in transition.

Bottom Lane Match Ups

Ashe is pretty good in initiating and zoning, plus she has a limited autoattack slow what makes her a late game beast. But there is one question, when should I play her and what counters does she have?

Ashe has many crowd controls and can initiate from far away. She does pretty well in a high stacked CC team like: Nocturne, Cho'gath, Lux, Morgana etc. But don't forget: she is very weak in the early and mid game. Until she gets kills, she can zone every AD Carry out of his lane.

Here are few champs that are good against her:
His strong early game really bothers Ashe, especially his high mobility.

Like Ezreal, Graves can dodge her ult with his E and he bursts her in her weak state down.

Not a very solid pick, but she can dodge Ashe's abilitys with only one skill.

Blitz is a pure terror for Ashe. He can ruin her early game with his zoning and kill potential.

Lux's long range poke is horrible for Ashe and when Ashe gets binded, she has no other possibility, that she needs to use flash.

Taric makes her look like a baby. His amazing armor buff makes Ashe's early game even weaker.

Here are some good lane partners:
Janna's E makes her weak volley more powerful and her croud control makes it even easier for Ashe to land an arrow.

Even if Sona is a very aggressive support, she can be very useful for Ashe. Her AD buff what makes her weak volley stronger and her ultimate what makes and 100& opportunity to land Ashe's Ultimate.

Her crowd control is synchronising so well with Ashe Ultimate. It's the same as Janna and Sona.

Early/Mid Game

As we all know, Ashe isn't a good early/mid game AD carry, except for her LV 1 phase, because her + does freaking damage. does scale very bad into late game, if u compare it with a Graves or Ezreal Q it's barely nothing. But her allows her to chase all day long, what makes her an incredible good end game champ. Her is also an awesome engage.

I prefer to play Ashe very passive in the early/mid game, until I get kills I go full aggressive.
Also try to land as many at mid as possible, if your AP Mid wants it.

Late Game

That's the time when Ashe gets to shine.

Try to land as many as possible for engagement. Stay at the back line and slow your enemys with your and .
She has also a map clearer what allows her to see many objects in the dark, what can change games.
Carry your team to victory.

Team Fights

You are an AD carry, so make sure you don't get too much poked before the fight actually begins and also make sure that you stay far away.

Don't go like a Tank or Bruiser in the teamfights, just attack who ever you can and don't get CCed.

Wait until u get your 100% , try to engage with and just destroy your enemys.

Final Comments

Well, there are no other chapters. Why? Because I'm lazy as fuck. This is the end of my Ashe Guide.

Hope you guys will learn a bit of this terrible champion. And remember. If you get pro on Ashe, remember that 1800~ Elo guy on SoloMiddotnet that helped you to grow with this champ. And again:

Sorry, for my bad english. Change your tampon, if you hate it.

OK SEE YOU GUYS
BYE

I've been looking through all the Ashe guides submitted for Season 3 and this is the first good guide I've seen. Nice work dude! Cleanse OP!

January 10, 2013 - 06:52 AM #2

I really enjoy this Guide, it helped me alot to play better with Ashe.

Its my main Champ on LoL and im not to bad with her, but this crazy lifesteal after u got the Doran's Blade and Vampiric Scepter + Lifesteal Rune are amazing.

This really saved my ass a lot of times.

Thx! :)

Heya, thanks for the guide. I'm curious though why you go 9 in support. Why would Ashe need Runic Affinity? She isn't jungling, nor playing mid, so she has no claim to the team's buff. Wouldn't it make more sense to remove Runic Affinity, Improved Recall, and 1 pt in Expanded Mind in favor of Summoner's Wrath and +2 Butcher?

December 21, 2012 - 10:29 PM #4

Great guide. Only thing is you only have four points into volley and have 6 into hawkshot in your skill order.

December 14, 2012 - 08:11 PM #5

LOL! Great work, especially for a 1800 Elo Player. Keep it going! :))
