These runes are great for poking with Caitlyn's range, lifestealing the damage from minions that you've got from it, and poking again afterwards. The scaling MR allows for some extra magic resist in late game and the armor seals are just there because it's standard!

This is the ADC page that I use, if you prefer having Butcher and Feast aswell, go ahead and take that. In my opinion, this is the best ADC page possible right now.

Summoner Sets

Flash & Cleanse
Flash and Cleanse are great picks overall. Cleanse will give you the late game advantage because it removes debuffs on you (Nasus Wither is also removed now, which is used) and stuns etc. You could go for Barrier, but I feel like that's only usefull in laning.

Flash is just OP so take it

This is the build that is standard in a balanced game. I.E. first allows for your passive to hit hard and it's just a realy good item for Caitlyn because of her range. Getting some more crit and attackspeed afterwards allows for your passive to proc more and you have a higher chance to Crit people.... which is always good.

Don't forget the extra movement speed you get to kite the little cupcakes that chase you around the map! ^_^

Who am I?

Hey everybody! My name is MajorAwesomeD and in this guide I will try and share some knowledge on my favorite ADC Caitlyn.
I've been playing LoL since season 2 and I felt like I should contribute something to the community by sharing my wisdom of this game. Im not saying that's its the best kind of wisdom, because there's probably people who do it better, but I'm going to give it a shot anyways.

I play on the NA server and am currently in Gold I!

This guide is going to be focused on Caitlyn, who used to be a underestimated ADC but made a realy good comeback in seasn 3!

At the moment I main Mid and Jungle but ADC was my main in Season 2

Let's cut this chatter and move on to the actual guide shall we? Mmmmyesss let's :)

  • She has a long range harass in lane

So.. after alot of testing and trying things with the new BotrK, I've come to a conclusion about it. It is a very strong opener, however, Bloodthrister is still in my opinion the best way to go on Caitlyn. So, I switched the build around again. I still have BotrK in my Item build, but its a situational item now. You can choose to take a Frozen Mallet or a BotrK depending on the enemy team comp.

Summoner Spells


Flash is without a doubt the best summoner spell in the game, especcialy for AD Carry's. What is the one thing that AD Carry's need? Positioning! Out of position in a teamfight? Flash into position and destroy the enemy.
Flash is also a great escape tool against mobile AD Carry's like and . If they get the best of you, Flash out of there!

Barrier is an amazing summoner spell now that we have this insane burst meta in season 3. The other summoner spell that you can swap Barrier for is , but make sure that you dont waste that and only use it for good haha :P

Other Summoner Spells:

You could run this if you combine it with but I wouldnt recommend taking it against a team with CC ults like .
Heal can be taken against a team without alot of CC. It's renewed passive is great of laning and Heal Baiting is always great
People ask me why I never take Ignite on Caitlyn, well, Ignite's cast range might not be that short, but almost all your attacks (even Auto Attack) out range the Ignite cast range. It might be that one greedy step that you take to get yourself killed.
Also, since Caitlyn is not realy an AD Burst champion like Ezreal or Graves, I would not recommend taking this spell

The other summoner spells are kind of useless on Caitlyn, might be the only other usefull one for Caitlyn, but again, I would not recommend it.


Passive: Headshot

Every 8 / 7 / 6 attacks (at level 1 / 7 / 13) (attacks while in brush count as 2), Caitlyn will fire a headshot, dealing either 150% damage to a champion or 250% damage to a minion.

To sum this ability up fast: more damage. Its a very straight forward passive and it doesn't realy need that much of explanation in my opinion. But there are some things that you could keep in mind:

This is a great harass tool for laning. If you want to go agressive on the enemy, make sure you hit every single Headshot Passive on the enemy AD Carry. You can refresh this ability faster when you are standing in your brush, so make good use of this.
If you don't want to go agressive on the enemy, use this ability to last hit enemy minions (like Siege Minions). This gives you guaranteed gold.

The passive also allows Caitlyn to get either Red or Blue buff extremely fast. Do this by standing in the brush. Again, this makes your passive cooldown proc two times faster

Q: Piltover Peacemaker

Caitlyn revs up her rifle for 1 second to unleash a penetrating shot which deals 20 / 65 / 110 / 155 / 200 (+130% Attack Damage) physical damage (deals 10% less damage to subsequent targets, with a maximum loss of 50%).

This spell is great for laning. It's realy good for harassing early game and it also hurts quite a bit. Use this if you want to push your lane and use it to deny the enemy AD Carry's farm. NOTE: Make sure river and tri bush is warded when you do this!
Since Piltover Peacemaker is considered a 'nuking' skill, it obviously means that it's realy strong early game and early mid game, but falls away late game because your Auto Attacks are stronger then your skill. However, you can still use this skill if you time it well. Auto attack and inmediatly after use your Peacemaker for great succes

W: Yordle Snap Trap

Caitlyn sets up to three traps to find sneaky yordles, which trigger on champions. When sprung, the trap immobilizes the target, reveals them for a short duration, and deals 80/130/180/230/280 (+80% of ability power) magic damage over 1.5 seconds.

Traps last for 4 minutes.

Cooldown 20/17/14/11/8

Cost 50 mana

Range 500

Great escape tool combined with your . Who's that comming out of the brush? !!! Place trap, E away. Great succes!
Also, this is one of the main skill that makes people rage when it comes to Caitlyn's Enemy tries to escape after a teamfight through the river, trap is placed, Boom... headshot ;)

Not only can this be an escape tool for yourself, it can also be used for a friendly on your team. Example: Olaf comes in to kill your AP Carry. Olaf is a melee champ and needs to get realy close to deal alot of damage. Prevent this by placing a trap in the escape path of your friendly AP Carry or right on him. Great succes for trapping Bruisers.

E: 90 Caliber Net

Caitlyn fires a net to slow her target by 50% for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds. This deals 80/130/180/230/280 (+80% of ability power) magic damage and knocks Caitlyn back.

Cooldown 18/16/14/12/10 seconds

Cost 75 mana

Range 500

This ability can be used in two ways: agressive and non-agressive.
First off, and I'm going to keep this short, great escape ability.
NOTE: you can go through small walls with this ability.


You can use this ability agressively aswell. Example: enemy is on low HP, use the extra boost from to close the gap between you and the enemy. Finish off with or

R: Ace in the Hole


Caitlyn takes time to line up the perfect shot, dealing 250 / 475 / 700 (+2 per attack damage) physical damage to a single target at a huge range. Enemy champions can intercept the bullet for their ally.

Cooldown 90/75/60 seconds

Cost 100 mana

Range 1900/2050/2200

Wait a second, Caitlyn is a sniper? Oh... That makes sense then.
This ability is great to snipe down your unsuspecting enemies that try to recall.
Confident enough with your support bot lane? Let him take and snipe some people. This ability is best used when you enter a teamfight instead of sniping down low HP enemies. Reason for this is because you won't be able to focus on the entire enemy team when you try to damage them in a teamfight. If you use your ultimate when a teamfight is going on, it means that your own team loses ALOT of DPS in the process. Also, the shot from her ult will most likely be blocked by one of the other teammembers.
So again, use Caitlyn's ult BEFORE entering a teamfight for more damage output.

Skill Order

Why do we take W at level 1?

  • Prevent an enemy invade
  • Secure buffs
  • Scout (it gives a small vision area when you place the trap down)
  • Trap enemy when invading

Why do you max second and not ?

Basically, since you are duo laning with a support you don't realy need the net for anything, you only use it for escaping. If you max the trap first and placed everything right so that nobody can come close (jungler has to step in one of the traps first), you won't be killed plus you'll have enough time to escape.

The cd on your trap is 8 seconds when maxed (on lvl 13). This is usually the time when you are roaming with your team.
If you do find yourself in a though spot (having a bruiser chasing you), the best way to deal with it is going in a brush, placing a trap, letting him get trapped, then Net away. If he decides to keep chasing, your new trap should be up again.

Item Builds

[Removed boots and pots from the list. Reason: Never start with it anymore and it's most common to start with AD items in bot lane now. Consider going for a Bloodthrister FIRST and then go for boots/more AD even.

First time Backing

These are usually the items that I get when I go back for the first time. Its basically your Core for the game and can be get all at once when you have 3.2k gold. Yes that's alot, so farm farm farm! ;)

You can skip the Doran's blade's (or just one) if you are dominating the game. If you are dominating on a whole... notha... level! You can get and

Mid game

The reason why I usually get first is because it helps Caitlyn alot in mid game. You usually get a Bloodthrister around the 15 min. mark when everything is going well. The extra damage it delivers on your Q and R in mid game is extremly good.


This should only be taken first if you are extremly fed (first blood with some extra kills BEFORE the 15 minute mark and ofcourse good farm). It just gives you the upper hand in laning and roaming because you will most likely out damage anybody who tries to 1v1 you. Plus, if you are still in lane while you have , your range combined with your auto attacks and passive just destroys everyone


This is usually the build that I'm taking. People underestimate alot because they don't make full use of the item. Auto attack, move, auto attack. Repeat this in a good fashion and you will be dealing 'tons of damage'.

Again, it realy depends how the game is progressing.

Example: they have a fed Darius. What do? Well, depending on your teamcomp. is an excellent item vs Darius. It's actually a realy good replacement for if you think about it. is more of a kite weapon while is most likely the best chase weapon for any ADC. Combine this with the new boot enchantment and GG.

Bloodthirster or Infinity Edge first?

Again, it's extremely situational. If you are dieing alot, don't get BT first. If you are playing a normal farming game with some agression, get BT first, if you are dominating early game and are fed, get Infinity Edge and Vampiric Scepter ASAP

There's alot of discussion over this item. Is it realy that good? Does it suck?
Well in my opinion, no, it does not suck. It's actually one of the better items in the entire build. Why?

  • Extra Mobility
  • Extra Attack speed for more
  • Higher chance to crit and a passive effect that can crit

Late / End game

Your final build should be looking a little bit like this:


Why should I take when I already have ?

If your team has enough CC and tankiness to win almost every team fight, why not get more damage instead of an extremly defensive item like or ? Remember, the Active effect that you get on is realy good. The movement speed combined with your is so good to escape from any nearby bruiser. Plus, you still have another to get rid of any other effects on you.
Don't take this item in a balanced team comp.
You will be focused since you are an ADC, and if your team doesnt have the capabiltiy to save you when a teamfight happens, you will be better off with or
is now ONLY FOR MELEE. Removed from list

You can switch for in the extreme late game scenario, when you have the rest of your items. I still dont do this, since Statikk Shiv still deals more Damage then Phantom Dancer, but some people prefer it.

is increcdible on ADC's right now. The updated item has attack speed now which makes this a perfect item for any ADC.
Whenever you are facing a bruiser/team with lots of health, or if the enemy ADC is choosing to go for this item first, consider taking it! It's incredible against high HP targets and it works like a charm with Caitlyn (slow + trap + net, just amazing)

Testing builds and new item order

Right now I'm trying out a new order for my item build on Caitlyn. Her main problem in mid game is that she doesn't pump out enough damage and gets low on kills because of it.

Therefor, im testing out to get before with a core build of:

After this, I get and .
I've tried this out a couple of times, and it works realy well.

Because you pump out some early damage now, you should be able to get some more kills and more gold.
Just make sure you have your team backing you up and you should be able to get the last 2 items realy fast (after selling ofcourse).

Got Infinity Edge as first item because I got fed early game. Secured kills, but we lost eventually because the rest of the team was underfed, be carefull when knowing when to take kills and let them slide for other people. Remember, it's a team game ;)

So, I've been trying out the newest 'meta' for ADC which is starting the game with a and . To be fair, Caitlyn doesn't realy need this, since her main abiltity in lane is to annoy you as much as possible, she doesn't realy need the extra damage early on. Besides, if the other person started with , there is no way to trade blows anymore because he/she can just chase you down.

So in my opinion, just start with boots, it's the safest pick there is and you don't need to change that;)

Can you believe that it actually works pretty well if you are realy far ahead?
Yea, no joke, I only used it to get some kills early-mid since I was ahead already, but the few seconds that it lasted worked amazing! I did use this with Nunu support tho, so the AS was realy high


Focusing on the most common AD Carry's:

Vayne should not be a realy big problem. Try to deny creep by standing in between your own Minions and the enemy Minions. If she decides to dive you on level 6, deny her chase by placing down a in your escape route and away to slow her. When her ult is off, try to destroy her ASAP. Most of the time her Mana will be depleted.
Be carefull that you dont miss your if Vayne is chasing you, can help you with this situation aswell

Ah yes... Ashe... Nobody like's her. Try to dodge her Volley's by standing behind one of your Minions. Also, your has a lower CD then her Volley, try to make good use of this.

Dodge Q win lane. GG
With the new change, Ezreal can be very dangerous. Engage into combat with his E, then nuke you down, so becarefull. Since you're Caitlyn, try to predict his movements

Early game you should be able to win against him. Remember tho, after mid game, he will most likely out damage you 1v1 in a balanced game. Be carefull

Corki's range is the thing that makes him realy weak, that's why Caitlyn should just be fine against him in lane. Dodge his Q and R. If you succeed in doing this, you're golden

Apparantly, Sivir is the number one counter against Caitlyn. However, I don't feel that's entirely true. Her range is not very high, which makes it easy for you to land auto-attacks on her when she tries to farm Minions. The only thing that might be annoying is when she shields your . But hey, Caitlyn's ult should not even be used to finish somebody off late game anyways

Ah yes, the cowboy that could. Small tip: don't let him get close to you and try to deny him as much as you can. WARNING: Extremly dangerous when faced in close combat

This lane might be realy annoying. Varus his E (the shower of arrows) is very annoying and to be fair, pretty hard to predict if you play vs a good player. Try to let him push a bit early game, then ping your jungler over to gank. Varus has no escape vs Ganks unless he's lvl 6.

Oh yes.. teemo is actually a realy nice AD hybrid Carry if played well. Ofcourse, you wont encounter him on high level ELO games, but when this guy gets a + you'd better watch yourself.
The key to victory against teemo is to be agressive early on with your support. Lead in with a , then have Taric use his stun, Auto attack, and back off. You dont want to be hit by the blind while you are still Auto attacking.
Don't chase into the shrooms, they are most likely in the bushes and on the sides of the lane.

Always remember this when facing Miss Fortune in lane: she will be agressive. Since MF is almost a snowbally kind of ADC, she will be agressive, especcialy if she has a support like or with her. Miss Fortune is kinda like Caitlyn, her early game is realy strong, mid game is meh, and late she's decent, just like Caitlyn.
For the lane phase itself, try to bait MF into diving/going all out agressive and try to take your advantage over this!

How to win vs twitch: support buys , place it down in lane, gg. Twitch his strenght is realy only his ability to Ambush other players. When he get's to do this to you, its usually gg. However, you can avoid this by getting the ward for laning. It helps out alot and you will always know where he is.
Twitch his weakness is his range. So exploit this with your own abilities and attacks!

There's a reason why I haven't added Tristana yet to this matchup list. The reason being: she isn't played.. at all...
The only time when you see her being played now days is AP. The spellsword procs are just to high to be ignored in season 3.
However, if you do see her in botlane as an ADC, you should not be having problems with this. You outrange her untill level 6 hard, so harassing shouldnt be a problem. My advice is to go agressive on a Tristana with Caitlyn early game, try to get Golems if you start bot. lane so you have an early level advantage. When you get that advantage, engage!
With the new change to , Tristana is extremly powerfull. The reason for this is that she can easy engage into combat with her Rocket Jump, use the blade, nuke you down and then just jump back out.
I've been playing Tristana this way on Ranked and it's a snowbally tactic, but it works realy well with a good support on your side~!

Kennen is an incredibly strong AD Carry if played right. The reason why I'm putting him in here is because people on the NA and EU scene are recently coppying the Korean builds for Kennen.
Kennen is all about burst, but needs a good sustain support. My advice to batteling this little yordle is this: poke him whenever he comes for a minion kill, make sure your support is aware of you doing this, and kill him when he's on about 50% health. Don't let him regenerate it and bully him out of lane. I know it's hard because Kennen has alot of damage with his Electrical Surge etc. But if you communicate with your support, it shouldnt be a problem!

Strenghts and weaknesses overview

Right, in this chapter, I'll be going through most of the strenghts and weaknesses that caitlyn has.

Let's start off with her strenghts:

  • Level 1

Why level 1? Well, Caitlyn's trap is one of the best things against enemy jungle invade. Even if they don't step into it, just seeing the trap might cause the enemy team to back off because well, it might be A TRAP! Also, if you want to scout safely for your team, you can do it by placing down one of the traps in a brush. It will reveal the area around the placed trap for a second.

  • Laning Phase

By placing down traps (max. 2 in lane, keep one for the tri bush to watch for enemy ganks) you will be able to predict the enemy movement alot more. Combine this with your high ranged auto attack and your Piltover peacemaker and laning should be easy. Keep in mind tho, that you must always stay ahead in minion farm against the other AD carry. Caitlyn realy needs her farm ;)

  • Kiting

Yes... Kiting. Infact, Caitlyn is one of the best kiters in the game, especcialy with red buff. When you want to kite with Caitlyn, try to attack, run, attack, run, attack, run. Train this well and you should have a fun time kiting some random bruiser around. Remember to use your 90 Caliber Net and your Trap to induce even more rage ;)

Now for the bad stuff:

  • No comeback

Ok here's the thing. If you are having a bad game with Caitlyn and you find yourself dieing early game and getting pushed out of your lane alot, its game over for you. Caitlyn has a realy hard time to pick herself up after she falls down. No farm nor kills for Caitlyn means game over.

  • Late game damage

Ill be mentioning this in the upcomming chapters, but her Late game Damage is not up to par with the other AD Carry's. However, with this item build that I've provided, you should be able to match the damage.. also positioning... but this will be discussed soon ;)

  • Without tier 3 boots, realy slow

She's a freakin turtle. Just for fun, pick for top lane and Caitlyn for bot lane. Have Caitlyn buy boots and Pantheon Long Sword and 2 pots.
Dat movement speed

Early Game

Try to harass as much as you can with your passive. Whenever you see the other carry go in for a minion kill, use it to shoot that passive right on his head...shot... ha...
No other carry has a higher range then Caitlyn, so it should always be a hit if you time it right. Master this with your Piltover Peacemaker and Trap and you should always be able to win alot of lanes.
Remember, you (should) have Taric next to you as support. This means more armor, a little heal and ofcourse his stun. Trust me, whenever you see a Taric in lane next to a Caitlyn, be scared and prepared.

I don't know if I even have to mention this, but you realy need to farm with Caitlyn if you want to have a decent late game. She doesn't scale as well as some other AD Carry's in the game, so realy farm well with her, try to get every last hit possible. This way you can get your core fast (10-12 min in the game)

After watching the Season 2 matches (qualifications and finals) on twitch.tv, I noticed that bottom lanes that are winning in farm and can poke people out of lane would push alot of their own creeps under the enemy's turret to deny farm.
I've been trying this out with Caitlyn and it works realy well. Just make sure you and your support ward and trap everything right so you can escape whenever the jungler comes in to gank. Because trust me, he will come down.

Mid Game

Try to rush your main build items first! This depends on how the game is prolonging, but it's usually either OR .

Mid game is starting, laning phase is over, you have your first 2 main items. Teamfights are starting.

Try to do teamfights in the jungle or near brushes. This way you can make the best use of your traps.
Take objectives with your team (Dragon, enemy red buff, enemy blue buff and Baron) whenever possible. Group up and take everything you can. Let your Jungler and Support get Pink wards and maybe even an oracle to clear wards around these areas!

Remember to keep farming whenever possible. You still need gold to get all the items you need to be effective late game! Ask your jungler if you can have red buff! You can get it realy fast by standing in the bush near the buff to trigger your passive more.

Did you get yet? Excellent. Keep moving. Gotta go fast.
To make the best use of this item, you need to learn to kite. If you can kite already, bravo, this item should be awesome on you. If you have red buff, the kiting becomes alot easier because of the slow on red. Just make sure you get it when entering mid game.

If you find out that your team is winning almost every fight and you have all taken most of the objectives, you can roam to kill towers and farm some more.
NOTE You have to let your team push one of the other lanes if you are starting to roam. This means that the enemy has to make a dicision whether to follow you around the map with 2 people or to prevent the rest of your team to take more objectives.

However, if the enemy team decides to go for your team instead of you, don't hesitate a second and make your way over to where they are! They need you for the damage oresle they won't survive!

Communication is usually what wins a game. Try to make some agreements about how you want to enter mid game. Will it be a passive longer laning phase? Or will you go roaming alot whenever you can (after you pushed a lane so that you wont appear on the enemy map anymore, this will cause a pinging mayhem on the enemy minimap).

Keep communicating with your team for maximum succes and maximum bitch-slappery! ;)

Late Game

I'm going to be honest here, Caitlyn's late game is strong, but it's not the strongest as some of the other AD Carry's like Vayne, Kog'maw and even Ezreal.
However, with decent positioning and making the best use of her passive, traps and Piltover Peacemaker, you can still pump out insane amounts of damage!

Remember to keep objectives like Baron and Dragon warded at all times! Heck, place 2 or 3 down to see if they place any wards down in the area.

If you've build a before , get it now. It's the best AD Carry item by far. Building Last Whisper first isn't bad tho. The new Meta for season 3 allows junglers and top laners to stack alot of armor. Even supports have insane amounts right now. Bruiser's like Jax and Vi will most likely crush you when they get to close, so getting that extra bit of Armor penetration while you kite them is realy not a bad thing, plus the procs on will help alot aswell. Last Whisper will probably do more damage then Infinity Edge early mid game anyways. Unless you're fed ofcourse, then you go for right away.

Remember to buy if possible and only use it when you know a teamfight is going to happen. You can sell your etc. for your end game items.

If you died, try to stack up again before another teamfight. You can do this by asking your jungler to get some neutral monsters in the jungle or to just farm a bit in lane. Be very cautious of your minimap tho. The enemy team might just pop in to say hello if not everything is warded properly.

Stick to your support and jungler/top lane at all times, if you go out alone you will die.

Team Fights

I probably can't say this enough time's so I'm just gonna make it look big and in the middle of this chapter:


There... that should do it :)

Try to go for the main damage dealer if possible. If this is not possible, try to go for the target that's closest to you, this way you stay away from the epicenter of the battle but still deal tons of damage!! (thanks Phreak).

Remember when I said that Caitlyn's is a realy good ability for laning?
Exactly, LANING. You could cast this spell a few times to poke on the enemy team when a fight is about to happen, but never use it when you are actually dealing damage in the main teamfight. It will just make you lose DPS and you will most likely be focused down right away when you do this. Remember, Piltover Peacemaker is an ability that will make you stand still for half a second. That's enough for the enemy bruiser to come close enough and smack you down like WWE.

Don't get greedy on kills. If you see a low HP enemy running away from the fight, DON'T CHASE! It's a good thing that he's running away, less targets to focus and more damage on your own side. Running enemy's is usually a guaranteed team fight win. If it's late enough in the game, it's probably even a win.

Remember to use when possible and if you bought or even use it aswell.

Other then that, positioning and teamcommunication is the most important thing!

One last thing...


Just make sure you get rid of this guy. Malphite basically counter's your entire existence when he ult's + Smashes you. Ground smash lowers your attack speed and his ult just destroy's anybody. It's a big game changer

Who should support Caitlyn?

The most common and most favorited support for Caitlyn is .
The extra attack speed and the range that she has is a great harassing tool and can make any ADC back off a bit more because of it

Other good supports for Caitlyn:

: BlitzLyn (pull + trap + Blitz-fist)

: Taric is actually my favorite support with Caitlyn in S3 now. Since the early attack speed that Nunu gives doesn't realy matter to me (and nor should it to you, since you are building AD AD AD!), the stun that Taric gives with his Dazzle and the that you have makes this lane realy hard for the enemy ADC. Place a trap down to negate the path that the enemy jungler is taking and use 2 traps in lane for the enemy ADC to dodge. Make sure you place both traps on the side of the river (from the minion wave). This way the enemy ADC is bound to go more to the bush, were your friendly Taric will be greeting him... or should I say.. BEDAZZLE him... ugh

: Try to combine your with Janna's shield (gives extra AD and will prevent the enemy AD Carry to exchange hits)
Also, Janna's Q works well with trap placement. If Janna hits her Tornado, place a behind the target. Human instinct is to fall back after being hit, if they fall for it... well.... IT'S A TRAP!

Holy moly this combo is great, if you happen to know a friend who plays support, make him play Thresh.
The grab is devastating when you land a on the enemy aswell, plus Thresh his Flay ability gives you enough time to place down a trap behind the enemy for more confusion.

The best thing about Thresh is that you can dive the enemy realy easily, you wont have to use your as an escape anymore. Try to roll with Caitlyn when playing with Thresh, be very agressive and dive inmediatily when you have your ultimate. Result: enemy dies instantaniously and you can escape with one click of your mouse button (click the damn lantern!)

i think the 2 points in tough skin are not worth it as they only help against monsters and not minions:/ but other than that, awesome guide! :)

I haven't really ready AN of the comments but why not take LS quints on cait? If you think about it, you'd just stay in lane longer and get more gold for more ad.

I used to have Runaans in my build because I thought it was a pretty decent item, but since it doesnt actually give extra stats other then attack speed, I wouldnt recommend getting it. I would swap it for another PD late game to get the extra crits, but not runaans.

Hey, great guide =)

Im just wondering - what do you think about Runaan's Hurricane? Since it applies on-hit effects, it means that you will be able to stack/get your passive proc way faster. Especially, when you reached lvl 13 and you've got that item, almost every 2-3th attack is that headshot proc! I.. just dont know, which item I should pass up when I decide to go for that item, and, moreover, Im not even sure IF its a good item on her :D Id love some explanations by you concerning this item and its strength on Caitlyn

@ FJLORDZ, the thing right now is that every game should be looked at differently.

Right now, I usually go for BOTRK in solo que because the jungler and tank will most likely collaps on you in mid/late game. Botrk helps with damage and escaping plus your own escapes with caitlyn are great against this.

However, when I que up with some guys or even duo queue, I look at the enemy team and especcialy the bottom lane. If for example a Miss Fortune is up against me, she will most likely go for a Bloodthirster. I usually go for that aswell then when I'm behind, but if you're fed and ahead, going for both doesnt hurt. I even go for BotrK and Bloodthirster first on Tristana, call me crazy (with a zeal ofcourse)

Nice build overall, but major question... With the retooling of BotRK (now 40% AS even if reducing a bit AD) do you really think overall Shiv outdamages BotRK? Plus it is useful with it's active giving MS and stuff...

However nice build overall, i like the idea of BT first (old school... :)
