Champion Matchups

Introduction

Jax is a great solo top lane his natural tankyness with his great source of damage makes him a great champion[twitch][/twitch]

Early Game

Early game Jax is good for first bloods depending on the other champion with counter strike Jax with wait in the brush for stun and pop ignite + his passive he will get first blood guaranteed.

If you are guarding red or helping to leash it, farming in your top is best until level 3 when you can harass the opposition.

If you like to be a hipster this tactic is a hard but funny one, get to your top lane and farm up so you always level before the enemy when you do level put a point in your skill quickly and force a engage you will always have a advantage by a level and a skill.

Mid Game

By this time you should have the core build and boots start to contently ward your river it helps a lot and the enemy tower should be low or dead farm is crucial at this point not much action will happen in your top lane, the action will be at bot. If you feel their is a need to leave your lane always push it up then leave, for the enemy takes more time to get to your tower or if he also leave puts more pressure on his lane.

Team Fights

Team fights can involve a lot of reaction if their adc gets out of position in any way don't hesitate go for the counter strike and leap combo. your job in team fights is to kill or separate adc or apc from the enemy's team. Jax can be a really good starter to et the team fight going all with that stun.

Late Game

If you make it to late game I don't expect you to because they would have /surrender already or you would have pushed for the win but if you do make it here all eyes must be on buffs in jungle and baron also don't let your cs slip away keep at.

Summoner Spells



Explanation:
Lets look at all Summoners spells, compare them and check some tips when they should be used. Summoners spell that are NOT LISTED here should be NEVER used.

Flash is free card to get out of the jail, to get kill, to dodge skillshots, to jump over wall. Its the most usefull spell from all Summoners spell. In high ranked games you will see 10 Flashes.

Exhaust drasticly reduces outcoming damage from AD DPS ( Tryndamere, Master Yi, Xin Zhao, Caitlyn, Ashe) and slows them. At least one piece of Exhaust should be in every team.

Ignite is spell used to secure kills and to shut down massive HPs regenerating champions ( Dr. Mundo, Vladimir)) or to make Tryndamere extremely happy after his ulti ends and he burns. At least one Ignite should be in every team, however its mostly common (and must have) pick for AP carry playing mid lane.

Cleanse is spell to remove CC. I suggest this spell in ranked games, if you see enemy team full of CC. It may be viable to buy Quicksilver Sash instead. Into normal games I do not recommend.

Ghost if you want more speed to catch up enemies, or to run from them. Viable option if you are below lvl 12 as Summoner. Even if Ghost is ok spell, you will lack the "I can jump over wall" stuff.

Teleport is good at Summoners Rift while playing solo top. DO NOT pick at Twisted Treeline NO!

Smite is a must have if you are the jungler. No discusion. While laning this spell is kinda useless.

Heal Yes! Some say its "spell for noobs", but it can save you so many times. I suggest this spell if you are new to Mr Jax, or low summoner lvl.

Runes

Runes can significantly change if you fail or not.

+ 8,55 AD (easier last hitting, bonus damage for Leap Strike so take Greater Mark of Attack Damage)
+ 12,69 armor (early game defense so take Greater Seal of Armor)
+ 24,3 MR at lvl 18 (late game defense so take Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist)
+ 6.75 AD (early game boost take Greater Quintessence of Attack damage)

Masteries

Like with the runes, masteries can significantly change if you fail or not. Some of them helps right from the start of the game, some helps later when you get few kills and you get stronger.

Skill Order

The good thing on Jax is that you can max the skill you want depending on each situation.

Are you scared for enemy ganks? Max to reduce its CD so you can jump in and out quickly. It also helps when there is an enemy jungler (that ult hurts) or an enemy . Those global ults let them appear from your back and no ward can alert you. So you need some escape mechanism.

Do you wanna do tons of damage? Max to increase its damage and reduce its CD to something absurd (3 sec CD on lvl5? That's called spamming)

Do you wanna be unkillable? Max to reduce its CD. Also it helps a lot when your jungler comes to gank: On lvl 5 it has 10 sec CD, so land a full combo when the jungler is about to reach your lane, and then use stun again when your jungler comes in for a gank.



But why I priorize Empower over Leap Strike?

That's because I always have wards. So I see the enemy jungler coming so I don't need low CD on to jump out. This way I can play more aggresive, so I win close to all trades and dominate my lane.

Which skill is better for lvl 1 team fight?

As Jax you have the ability to win team fights with only one skill:
This AoE stun will help your team to grab a couple of kills, or even an ace. If you manage to stun 3 or 4 guys on the enemy team, this will make you win the team fight.
Don't be afraid of flashing in to land your stun! Your job in a lvl1 teamfight is to stun as many people as you can, so if you can stun more people flashing in, DO IT! It'll give your team a huge early advantage and you always can grab on lvl 2 if you are afraid of a gank because you don't have flash.
