Champion Matchups

Introduction

Hi Guys,
Im LukeyBukey,playing on EUW server for a year now and Ezreal is my main AD carry and favorite champion.
Im unranked at the moment but follow the competetive scene and got some knowledge watching many streams.
I want to give some nice tips and tricks for total Ezreal beginners out or even people that want to
bring playing him to perfection because I got the mindset and knowledge you should have about this champion/the game even though my personal skills are lacking caused by not enough practise ^-^

ahh and ps: Pls dont be so critical about my grammar/typing mistakes.Im not a fluent english speaker
and still in school but I hope you guys can understand what I want to tell you :) :P

Masteries

21/1/8 - Do this if you are running Flash/Cleanse instead of Flash Exhaust/Ignite.The 21 in offense are
basic points you need as an AD carry,the 9 other points are prefered by myself and can be easily
put into defense tree for more sustain in lane maybe or whatever you want.I just like running
Manaregen on Ezreal to spam even more Qs in lane or if im not good at aiming for some reason.



21/0/9 - Do this if you dont use Cleanse and you dont have to put a point into it.

21/9/0 - For No-Mana-Fags :P

Runes

I please you not to simply copy this Runepage!
The only things that are really needed are the 9x armor in yellow for lane sustain and AD Quints.
Feel free to mix between full magicresist-scaling blues and extra armorpen reds beside the basic AD reds.
You normally wanna go for a few flat Mr if you are up against something really poky in lane like zyra etc.

Explanation of Rune choices:

Flat AD Marks - You need flat AD for better lasthitting in lane and it helps you in trades.


Armor Seals - Sustain against the enemy AD and Creeps in lane.

Magicresist per level Glyphs - Gives you the Magicresist for Lategame.

Flat MR Glyphs - Useful vs. most of the Supports at the moment because aggressive supps are trending
and it is good to have some basic MR in early levels.

AD Quints - Needed for Lasthitting.

Summoner Spells



Explanation:


Flash is the best Summonerspell ingame.

Use Cleanse vs. heavy cc/stun teams.



Explanation:

Use Flash/Ignite if you dont need Cleanse and could make use of it vs. hard lanes/special champions
your up against.



Explanation:

Use Flash/Exhaust vs. Autoattackers/AD Casters/Fast people


Another possible Summoner is Barrier but im not really into it already and dont like it that much, it is great for dueling other ADs though.



Skills

Passive: Rising Spell Force

Explanation:

If you know how to make use of this Passive,you can spam ults like a god.
This is also the reason why your Q is always up and ready to be used.
Good players may just time a nice q onto Junglecreeps over a wall to get their E faster up and
escape just fast enough to be safe.



Q: Mystic Shot

Explanation:


Your bread and butter spell,without this you are nothing.
Try to hit as many Qs in lane to succesfully poke your enemy down.
Notice that this spell procs Lifesteal and Redbuff/Phage slow.




W: Essence Flux

Explanation:

Useless like Skarners E.This deals 0 dmg and since it got nerfed and doesnt slow the enemys Atackspeed
anymore.You may just grab a point to give your teammates a bit of Attackspeed when they need it.




E: Arcane Shift

Explanation:

Double flash OP.
This is why I love playing Ezreal and what makes him so great.You can chase people down,
escape from ganks/teamfights and position yourself right for anything without having to use
normal flash.Great mobility tool and in some sort of way funny to use lol.





R: Trueshot Barrage

Explanation:


Try to spam as much as possible of these at your beginning to learn the aiming/timing.
If you know how to use your passive this ult is up in around 40secs and again ready to use.
Its global and can be used for wave clearing,pushing and recalling and finishing off people
beside just timing it right to SHRED through the whole enemy team in a fight.






Early Game

In lane try to hit as many Qs as you can and stay behind the minions to prevend other skillshotters from hitting you instead. Notice that you have barely low base HP in comparison to other champs and be aware of fighting if you dont have the right "feeling" for Ezreal yet.If you want to go back for your first shoppingsession just ult the minion wave and finish it off with Qs and autoattacks to push up the lane and get some time.

Mid Game

This is where you can shine.
If you have your core items you should be able to dominate and decide 2v2s in lane and even teamfights already.Around this time you can be a bit more aggressive and chase people way easier because the enemy
team probably is not grouped as 5 yet since Laning phase is still on.

Late Game

Have good Positioning,know who you want to focus possibly BEFORE the fight starts and try to stay behind your frontline.
Spam Qs to poke if the teamfight did not start yet and wait till one team engages.
Then it is up to you to make the best out of your ult and burst.
Possible combos are normally:

E to position yourself nice for the target you are focusing on
Q it.
W it.
Autoattack until ur Q is up again.


Then try to chase your enemy down if you were not able to finish him yet or back off/position new
because the fight went wrong.


NOTICE

This is actually the perfect way a fight should be for you as an ad carry,normally the enemy carry will
probably be protected or get away before you can burst em 1v1 or something.So be both aware and kinda creative to find ways for the right fighting.

Resolution - Pros and Cons

Ezreal is a high-mobility AD carry that prevends overall power through the whole game.





Pros:

- mobility
- can chase like a god
- can escape like a god
- global ult
- very fun to play
- typcial "Outplay" champ that can make the difference
- Is good through the whole game/doesnt fall off at any point.
- fits pretty much every support in game (!)

Cons:

- His base HP is just so damn low it hurts. (Draven destryos Ezreal without letting you have a chance)
- requieres some skill cause of the high skill cap if you want to play him succesful and make as much
use out of his potential as you can.
- Skillshots only (even though I like this)
- He looks gay.
