Champion Matchups

Intro to Eve

Before you go any further this guide is made by a silver to low gold elo play even though id say i should be much higher so beyond 1300-1400 elo I am not sure how well this will work

The issue i had with lol replay seems to be fixed i will be putting more league matches players can watch at this moment I have yet to lose a ranked match with this build in jungle and in top lane in all these matches you will see the effect of the build

I'm not sure how many replays I will post here probably enough to make my case about it ill probably stop around 10 ranked matches since those are usually the most realistic situations you will face

Game replays Post Nerf


With this build I have yet to lose a ranked game with evelyn still the reason for posting these matches is to try to prove it isn't so much of a pub stomping build that only works in normal matches although eve is extremely strong at the moment posting these matches is also to prove it isn't a troll build it actually works well

Evelyn is a high mobility assassin she can play almost any roll besides maybe support and ADC. Evelyn is traditionally squishy with majority of her build I want to try and change it Evelyn does gain a great advantage from AP however she also has very good attack speed with her ability Ravage this makes crit very useful.

I honestly think with this build with maybe a few tweeks Evelyn might be as bad as shen in some cases

Skills

Passive: Shadow Walk

Explanation: This ability is extremely useful it makes green wards pretty useless against eve they will probably be forced to get pink wards in lane especially if your jungle it gives you a circle of area where you can be seen however id recommend giving it another half inch or so sometimes it can be misleading. This is probably the most important thing to watch when ganking waiting for the right moment it can mean the difference between a kill and the champion just backing up waiting for you to leave.

The mana regen when activated is gonna be one of your best friends the entire game because you probably won't have blue often and because non of the core items in this build give mana or mana regen you will have to be mana conservative a bit more than usual




Q: Hate Spike

Explanation:

Due to recent nerf this ability drains mana like no tomorrow blue or Mana regen is recommended but not needed

This ability will be spammed pretty much the entire time the good thing about tanky AD eve is that AD scales with Evelyns abilities not the greatest but pretty well. This ability is very good for clearing minion waves last hitting minions and poking in lane you can usually predict where its going to go if you get good enough to eye ball it you can poke pretty hard however with this specific build watch your mana it will go down pretty fast but as long as team fight aren't extending too long mana should rarely become an issue



W: Dark Frenzy

Explanation:

This ability is great for chasing and escaping there are so many times i've escaped because of this ability on top of removing slowing effects you get extra movement speed for hitting champions with abilities this makes a great chasing tool especially with upgraded boots it also a great gap closer for ganks and to get to other minion camps if your jungling





E: Ravage

Explanation:

Evelyn uses 2 quick swipes at her opponents dealing magical damage stacks with AP and AD gives a good amount of attack speed as well when used it can't be targeted onto towers however if a enemy minion is close you can quickly use the ability of a minion then switch to the tower if your looking to kill it.
This ability is usually not used very often in team fights mainly because evelyn is normally too squishy to get close enough to use it however with this build it will be used a lot more often than you will think.



R: Agony's Embrace

Explanation:

Due to recent nerf to this ability you will no longer be able to snipe people with the ult the ranged has been reduced the CD has been drastically increased its actually a reverted buff from when she was first reworked and the Max hp has been changed to current with no minimum damage this means that is should be used for 1 of 4 reasons Initiating a fight, Chasing down a target that needs to be slown, Escaping and extra damage despite how small if a fight has already commenced

Outside of the shield this ability limits Evelyns potential and requires you to be in the fight to get the kills killing of carries is a bit harder than it used to be this build will keep you alive long enough to do damage

This ability is probably one of the most important in Evelyn's kit it slows enemies and gives you a shield based on the number of champions you hit at max level the most shield you can get from it is 1500 with a base damage of 20% of the enemeies current hp in magic resistance there is a slight cast delay on this ability it is possible to dodge it but it is highly unlikley this ability unlike Hate spikes and ravage only stacks with AP due to a nerf you now gain 1% extra for every 100 AP however this build doesn't include AP this build puts you in the center of the fight hopefully drawing enemies away from your carry while still dealing decent numbers for a tank

Pros and Cons

Pros
-Very Mobile
-Very Tanky
-Ok to good damage
-All of your abilities can be used to their full extent
-Fun build to play
-you can still 1v1 a good number of champions although it takes longer to take them down


Cons
-Mana needs more management (if you can get blue this isn't a problem usually)
-getting CCed isn't really a problem (if you watch a few of the replays although extremely time consuming you will notice times where I'm caught be the entire enemy team but I'm so tanky I can usually get away or lure them to the rest of my team)
- % of health items and abilities

Early Game

Evelyn's early game takes a little bit of a hit until but it makes up but being stronger in the middle and late game you will be able to sustain longer in lane pokes won't mean you have to retreat as often. And you still have similar roam potential and have a better ability to tower dive

Mid Game

Evelyn's mid game is pretty good assuming you are not fed and neither is the enemy you should see it takes a while for the enemy team to take you down and you will also see that your damage go up significantly after impailer one reason this build works well is evelyn's ult doing 15/20/25% of their MAX hp in magic damage is alot of damage in its self but it also applies a shield for each champion it hits this makes her an AMAZING initiator with her ult after Frozen heart is completed and you max your ult if you hit the entire enemy team with your ult you will be standing with 5500 in health and shield plus you will have brought most of the enemy team down about 20% or more of their max hp depending how how much MR the champions have

Late Game

At this point of the game you probably how wits end and working on GA or have GA and working on wits end one big reason i chose wits end is because of how much MR it gives evelyn will quickly get the stacks of it to get a high amount of MR your crit chance stands over 20% and with Wit's end and Ravage you will be attacking very quickly your crits will be doing around 250-300 damage plus the magic damage from your wits end and Hate spikes if the enemy team isn't focusing you you will easily be able to take down carries any ADC will do little damage due to reduced crit damage taken and the amount of armor and HP you will have and AP carries have usually one quick burst of damage which with 4000 hp before your ult and flasks they should be no problem

Item Builds

The items will have you end up a about 50 hp short of 4k and the impailer will supply to you with a good amount of AD which works towards your hate spikes and ravage although not as much as ap it still provides a good amount of extra damage as well as crit and with her attack speed and wits end you will see good damage output for a tanky built champ

If playing the roll as jungler you will wanna start with hunter machete and 5 hp pots other wise pick boots and 3 hp pots however as a jungler you have to options you could use the hunter's machete and upgrade it to one of the jungle items this will replace one of the already core items in this build it may replace frozen heart but at the cost of 30 AD 200 hp and slow effect on hit this will slightly effect impailer but only for a few damage for some armor and HP5 MP5 and more damage on objectives like baron in the jungle and dragon

Wits end is not a only option the reason behind it is because of the magic resist behind it depending on the team comp you may choose to go for more armor or possibly crit or more HP Wits end is not so much of a core item as the other 3 are but more of a recommended item.

As for the boot enchantment i might pick captain because more than likely you will be ahead of all ally champions so the engage will go more quickly however each set of boots has its uses this is also really up to what you are used to



One substitute for Wits end may be Rageblade it gives AP and AD which will greatly boots her damage output however at the cost of Magic resist however this item gives life steal and spell vamp which in some cases can be more useful than wit's end

Summoner Spells



Explanation:

Flash is great on all champions pretty much

Ghost is basically already on one of her abilities so its not really bad but ignoring unit collision will already be gone

if jungler swap ignite for smite

exhaust is also up to your play style because you will be in the front line it will be used more easily on ranged carries or to shut down a very powerful player.

Runes

The runes may be changed around from heavy armor to Magic resist heavy or if you believe you have enough defense and think that you want some damage output id put more runes into Crit chance however in this kind of build you shouldn't be worried about damage you will do plenty with Evelyn's kit and Wits end

Masteries

The Mastery build i have here is for Top lane however this build works in jungle too but you may more a few points around like the extra 10 gold on smite and maybe the reduced damage from minions

The 1 point into Defender will come in handy during team fights and most likely you will be targeted because of the reputation eve has of being high damage

The bonus from legendary armor is useful squeeze as much extra defense as you can you will be trading it for some MP5 which to be honest with Eve's passive you really don't need it too often however you won't be able to spam moves forever and you may notice in very long team fights where a lot of chasing is involved you might go oom

The point in reinforced armor depending on the enemy team comp could be put somewhere else maybe into MP5 or Tenacious depending on if you want to go mercury treads or Ninja tabi boots however unless the enemy team is stacking stuns tenacity isn't so useful since her Dark frenzy removes slowing effects

Final Comments

This is far from traditional build and play style of evelyn and as bad as it may look it works out well there are plenty of assassins that build tanky and have good damage output some examples are Lee sin Xin zhao, Irelia, poppy, Pantheon these champs are labeled as assassins and all usually build tanky and still have pretty good damage output

I guess this guide would be the warmongs version of eve honestly it isn't an original build many top champions use a similar build and it works just as well on Evelyn as it does other champions
