Champion Matchups

Introduction

Skarner is a type of jungler who can snowball lanes very easy. His ganking is weak early, but if the enemy doesn't have a ward and he pushed the lane to much skarner can easily punish him for that with his redicilous slows(especially with redbuff). After 6 level he is godlike in ganking and with oracle enemy team doesn't stand a chance if you decide to snowball on them.
He is my ''to win hero'' and i consider him the strongest jungler atm.

Masteries

Explanation:
I run this masteries because they make skarner very durable early, mid and late game. Defense masteries because he needs to be able to withstand damage whether its tower diving or taking drake and etc..
Utility part is for increased ms which makes his prey not able to run from him, and mana regen because he is extremely mana hungry.

Runes

Explanation:
For skarner i use ms quints for obvious reasons, with shyrelya, boots of mob and utility masteries there is no chance of escaping from his ganks.
I use as marks because with them he can clear faster because of his passive and also gank in shorter time periods.
Armor seals- they are the best seals on any jungler.
And i use magic resist glyphs because i find them very strong on any hero like armor seals.

Summoner Spells



Explanation:
Smite for obvious reasons and flash because its the best summoner spell for either defensive(retreat) purposes or offensive(catching up, ganking) purposes. Those flash ults man.

Skills

Passive: Energize

Explanation:
This passive makes you clear creep camps so easy , and makes your ult get up faster.




Q: Crystal Slash

Explanation:
Great aoe spells , it doesn't deal a lot of damage but thats his only damage source and it clears camps fairly easy. While ganking this spell just makes the enemy not move, with red and crystal slash the slow is just to strong.




W: Crystalline Exoskeleton

Explanation:
This spell gives skarner little bit of sustain due to its shield, and gives him as which makes him clear creeps faster. While ganking it is essential because of its ms buff so be sure to have it while ganking.




E: Fracture

Explanation:
I ignore this spell completly :)




R: Impale

Explanation:
This spell makes skarner so scary. It supresses an enemy for few seconds and drags them wherever you go. Every carry is afraid of this spell and after few good ults they will be sure to buy qss. In that case ult another champion who doesn't have qss or just ult the carry after he used his qss.




Skill Order

Explanation:
Max q first , w second and ofc everytime ult is available(6,11,16) take it.

Item Builds

Starting items : hunters-machete health-potion5
Explanation:
Atm its the only good item for jungling.


Core items: spirit-of-the-ancient-golem boots-of-mobility shurelyas-reverie
Explanation:
Spirit of the ancient golem gives you tankiness, and much needed cdr and mana regeneration which makes you dont't have mana issues due to giving blue to your mage. I take boots of mobility because i can show up anywhere on the map and gank, gank, gank and GANK SOME MORE. Oh you are escaping from my op ms , nope flash shurelya .Udeadbro?


Final items: spirit-of-the-ancient-golem boots-of-mobility or mercurys-treads+shurelyas-reverie frozen-heart wits-end or aegis-of-the-legion
Explanation:
Take mercury treads if enemy has to much cc and a magic heavy team. Frozen heart if they have a bunch of auto attackers or iceborn gauntlet to slow them even more. Wits end , beast item in general. Very good on skarner because of its as and it gives you a little bit of mr which makes it even better. Take Aegis if your team doesn't have it, if they have it and enemy has a lot of physical damage make randuin's omen . If they have a lot of magic damage dealers make abyssal.


VERY IMPORTANT!!!
BUY ORACLE ONCE YOU GET 6 AND SNOWBALL A LANE.

Team Fights

Your job in the team fights is to ult enemy mage or ad carry and just kill them or make them run from the fight, you are the initiator and after that try to protect your carries and cc as much as you possible can the enemy champions.

Jungling

Start at the side where bot can help you with the buff and take that buff without smiting it.NOTE:if you are taking blue , take wolfs first so you don't waste 15 seconds, same goes for red buff and wraiths. The reason for starting at the side where bottom lane can help is so you are able to go at top/mid around third munute and gank/countergank. Early game you will be very dependent on red buff while ganking but after 6 level you become a ganking god. MAKE SURE that you know when your buffs spawn so you can secure them . Bad things in skarner jungle is that he can be counter jungled easy and if enemy takes your first blue your clear time will be bad because skarner is very mana hungry. The other thing is , he can be poked really easy so try to avoid picking skarner if enemy team has a poking team.

Little bit about myself

At the moment in season 3 im only 1960 elo for now, i was 2190 last season and skarner was always my ''to win''(lets get tryhard) hero. I only played 11 games with him this season and i have a very good win ratio , but maybe i just got lucky :)
This is my first guide and i hope at least someone likes it .
