Champion Matchups

Introduction

Hello and welcome to my guide. Although Quinn may have just come out I have spent hours playing PBE games with her and the outcome is this guide. Quinn is a very fun champion and features a good kit.

I am always open to new things, if you think something would be better on Quinn then what I have message me and I'll try it out and maybe add it to the guide.

Summoner Spells



Barrier is S2’s heal but better. It gives a little more padding to take down an enemy in a 1v1 or more time for your support to react to burst damage on you. Flash is needed to escape or can be used to pick up fleeing targets.



Ignite can be used to finish off low HP enemies as well as cutting down on healing effects. I don’t really like to use ignite on ADCs as it removes some defense for you. However if you enjoy a finisher grab ignite. Again, flash is one of the most helpful spells in the game.

Runes

QUINT AND MARK


I prefer flat AD runes. This allows to have a bunch of AD early on in the game. Flat AD is going to make those harrier marks do crazy amount of damage. If you use vault with this and take advantage of the 2nd mark you will be doing some great damage.


GLYPH

The scaling magic resist glyphs will counteract the amount of damage an AP carry will be doing. Having these will also reduce the poke of most supports. Because most AP carries do their damage later into the game when they have items scaling MR will help you later on.

SEALS

Flat armor is what I use. This helps you in lane tremendously and gives you a stat that counteracts at least 2 enemies in most games. Getting more armor than the other ADC when you're doing more damage to them and they are doing less damage to you.

Masteries

These masteries give you all the passive help you need to dominate the game. More AD is good as well as armor pen and flat bonuses to low health enemies. Then you also pick up some HP to keep you alive longer.

(NOTE: The website seems to be messing up and won't let me put the last point into Veteran's Scars. Take it for more health and durability)

Skills



Passive - Harrier: Valor periodically marks enemies as Vulnerable. Quinn's first attack against Vulnerable targets will deal bonus physical damage.



[Q] - Blinding Assault: Valor flies in a line and strikes the first enemy in his path. He then attacks all nearby enemies to deal 70/110/150/190/230 physical damage and blind them for 1.5 seconds.

As Valor: Performs the same attack at the current location.



[W] - Heightened Senses: Passive: Attacking a Vulnerable target will increase Quinn's Attack Speed by20/25/30/35/40% for 3 seconds.

Active: Valor reveals a large area nearby for 2 seconds.

Passive as Valor: Gains 40/50/60/70/80% Attack Speed.



[E] - Vault: Quinn dashes to an enemy, dealing 40/70/100/130/160 physical damage and slowing the target's Movement Speed by 70% (this effect diminishes over 2 seconds). Upon reaching the target, she leaps off and lands near her maximum attack range from it. Valor will immediately mark this enemy as Vulnerable.

As Valor: Performs the same attack but does not mark or leap off the target.



[R] - Tag Team: First Cast: Valor replaces Quinn on the battlefield as a mobile melee attacker for 20 seconds. Valor gains +80% Movement Speed, decreased gradually to +20% when in combat.

Second Cast: Quinn returns to perform Skystrike, dealing from 120/170/220 to (+0.5*AD) physical damage to all enemies in a large area, increasing based on how much health they are missing. If Skystrike has not been cast before this ability ends, it will be cast automatically.



Skill Order

Quinns W is very good as it gives an attack speed increase. This allows you to pump out more damage in a shorter time. I like to max out Quinn’s E next. Vault allows you to do some damage, escape, and, the most important use, get a 2nd mark. Vault does some good damage and it slows but taking advantage of that 2nd mark can lower a target’s HP by a lot. Also vault can be used to get over walls. While I love Quinn’s Q it doesn’t provide as much benefit maxing it as her E does. I get it at level 4 as an AoE blind is just amazing. Use this on an ADC while fighting and they miss their next attack. This allows you to put in more attack than they have. If you're about to teamfight and they are grouped up and you Q them the whole team will start the fight blinded. This allows your team to take less damage and gives lower HP allies a little more time to damage the team.

Item Builds

Only going to go over the "OR" in the item build.



+ OR +

Longsword is a little more fun in my opinion. This allows you to be doing some more damage early game and makes your hit for a lot. However boots 3Hpot gives you more sustain and helps you dodge things if you need too.




OR

Phantom Dancer is my preferred item. It makes your attacks do a bit more damage. However Statikk Shiv does AoE damage which Quinn lacks. However your team should be able to do AoE damage in fights and you should be more focusing on pumping out crazy single target damage and assassinating targets.





OR

Furor is great becuase your going to be attacking things a lot. This is helpful for chasing down low HP targets and for escapeing. If your useing it for escpaing it could dangerous becuase you have to stop and AA before you get your speed boost. Homeguard is really good for defending your base or for returning to lane quickly. However lane phase will be over by the time you should be thinking about teir 3 boots.


OR

Warmogs is nice because it gives you a giant pile of HP. Giant piles of HP means you can pull out more damage before you die if your team isn't protecting you. GA is nice because it gives you 2 lives. However this leads more to awkward moments when the enemy team is hovering over your dead body waiting for you to respawn.

Final Comments

After looking at her kit only I'm thinking if she might make a good toplaner - she has a gapcloser, a blind and a reveal spell, no natural sustain though, but she's ranged. And the first thing I thought about her ult is that it's a very nice way to get stunlocked and die.

Have you tried playing her top?

Question: Why do you recommend to spec into Summoner's Wrath in offense, when it doesn't affect any of the summoner spells you've recommended? =)
