Champion Matchups

Introduction

New Karma finally comes!!!
I have been to Gold in season2 and Karma was one of my most played champions. After the remake, I can't wait for testing her new kits on the 1st day and I'm going to release a simple guide for her as my first guide :D.
Same as the old Karma, her early game is strong. However, Her pushing power seems to be lowered in mid lane duo to the increased CD on her ultimate. All in All, she's now a highly viable pick for mid and sup role.
This guide may not be the best guide on her but I'll try to write down what I feel on her as the first impression. Welcome to discuss with me and give me some advice :D.

Masteries

21/0/9 are basic masteries for standard AP mid.
9/0/21 could be the alternate choice for old karma but I don't think it is good now.

Summoner Spells



Explanation:
It's self explained. can be good choices based on your team and the matchups.

Skills

Passive: Gathering Fire

Explanation:

Honestly, I just think the new passive is trash. It should be a part of the ultimate and it just waste the passive for Karma.



Q: Inner Flame

Explanation:

As a old Karma fan, I like the old one for its AOE heal and damage at the same time. In fact, the new Q makes Karma get a ranged poking skill which is very nice for her. However, the unreliable damage duo to the skill shot would be a big problem in teamfight.



W: Focused Resolve

Explanation:

Yea, new Karma is rather a bit selfish. New she can only heal herself only with mantra. This skill just like Leblanc's E but it's not a skill shot. This make the new W a bit OP in kiting enemies and setting ganks for your junglers.



E: Inspire

Explanation:

The new shield is similar to the old one but it's added bonus movement speed. Also, new E in mantra form can also shield the nearby allies of the target.



R: Mantra

Explanation:

In my opinion, the use of Mantra is the important indicator to distinguish a good Karma and a bad one as she only gets ONE Mantra now. Both of the skills in mantra form show its utility for new Karma and you need to think twice before you use it.

Skill Order

To maximize the output, Q is going to be max first. The only arguable thing is who max 2nd between W and E.
Since the bonus damage in mantra form is now depends on level of R, I would just level up one E and leave the others to W to increase root duration and damage.
However, in some situation, max E 2nd is a clever choice depends on the game progress.

Item Builds

Starting Items:

I like to increase mobility. It's dependent on your matchup and own preference.

Core Items
My play style for old karma is AP tanky build. I like to enhance the tankiness with CDR.
For the new Karma, I just think any normal AP caster build is more suitable for her now as she dun need to go in depth to fights all the time thanks to the Q remake. I haven't tested any perfect build on her yet so all of you are pleased to give comment on this.

Final Comments

Karma is still a fun champion to play with. I'm glad to discuss any possible play style and potential on her with you guys :D. I will add more in-depth information later on. Thank you!!!

I suggest another Muramana and Seraph's combo, as her W procs Muramana each tick.
