Champion Matchups

Introduction

After playing Lissandra in PBR and many games since her release, I have found her to be an extremely good AP carry. She has high burst, high utility, and good CC. This makes her a deadly combo, she has the ability to escape, engage, and full to zero squishy champions with the right build.

Masteries

I run 21-0-9 Masteries. I go 21 into offense and get all the essential points into AP masteries. I then put my remaining points into the utility tree because the mana regen is nice early game, although it is arguable that the remaining nine could be put into the defensive tree because of the flask start.

Runes

I run mostly AP runes with her because it is extremely helpful with her early game and will make you Q hit extremely hard through minions, and give you great poke in lane. It will allow you to zone your opponent.

Summoner Spells



Explanation:
I run the basic flash ignite summoners, gives her even more escape or chase potential, and the ignite is nice for more damage output.

Skills

Passive: Iceborn

Explanation:

It is important to use this passive to its advantage, It can help you manage your mana very well early game if used right. You can just last hit minions until your passive is ready and get a free Q on your opponent to poke them out of lane, you can also use your spells to help reduce the cooldown of this.



Q: Ice Shard

Explanation:

I max this first because it is your best ability for poking in lane and doing damage later. It gives a nice slow and you can use it on minions in front of your lane opponent for good damage and wave clear.



W: Ring of Frost

Explanation:

I put one point into this early because it is great for holding your opponent in place if going for a kill, or getting rid of the annoying lee sin that is camping your lane. I max it last because it is a more difficult spell to land because you have to be in such close range.



E: Glacial Path

Explanation:

This is your bread and butter when it comes to engage and escape. You can use it to run away by using it then reactivating to zap to its location, or you can use it to get to your opponent and W them for a quick snare, very useful if your jungler is coming to gank for you.



R: Frozen Tomb

Explanation:


You can use your ult two ways, the first acts as a zhonyas in a since, you can use it on yourself and damage opponents around you while protecting your self from incoming damage, your you can use it on an opponent to stun them. I find it way more useful to use it on an opponent due to the fact that you can lead with it them continue to burst them down while they are stunned.


Item Builds

I found that building a rod early is great for Lissandra because it gives her great damage output and gives her HP for her close combat style, it is also get get a zhonyas because it gives you the fall back to save yourself and allows you to use your ult as a stun. A is great too for her close combat style, making her even more bulky and adding to her slows.

Team Fights

In team fights you can either be the one to engage, or wait for your tanks to if you have a good engage with them. It is generally a good idea to stay a little ways back and go in after your tanks. In team fights i try and get to the adc, or apc, and kill them off with my combo, . It is almost impossible for an adc to survive this with out good peels. She has very good burst damage. You can also use your ult to get extreme AOE damage to the whole team, you can use it on someone standing in the middle of the rest of their team (if they are grouped up) to get the full effect out of it.

Final Comments

Lissandra is an extremely strong champion right now. She has everything you want. She has high damage, high utility, and high CC. I am a little surprised Riot released her as OP as she is at the moment, but we all better play the hell out of her until they nerf Irelia.

I feel like you should consider putting liandry's into more items to consider, since it's passive will pretty much always be put onto 4% current health given all bar one of her abilities impair movement, and it also gives a bit of extra health which is extremely desireable on her.
