Champion Matchups

Introduction

ADc Lissandra is a pretty odd choice. In fact, it's just plain bad. People don't often play it because her skills don't easily scale with AD - in fact they don't scale at all. Because of this, as a champion you could be anywhere from truly overpowered to tiny and insignificant, depending upon the competence of both your own and your enemies team.

Because of this, you will want to cs a lot throughout the game. This is not because you need the gold - this is to make you feel better about playing ADc Lissandra. Besides, the proc from is so much fun to farm with, especially with your .

Runes

MARKS

For marks, there are a number of things which might benefit ADc Lissandra.

Attack Damage/Attack Speed
  • helpful on all ADcs
  • will raise her poor Attack Speed and Attack Damage stats so that she is almost viable as an ADc
  • will make your trolling slightly more effective
  • better than scaling Attack Damage in early-mid game, which is when you need to be strong

Hybrid Penetration
  • will actually be quite useful as Lissandra
  • not as troll-y -- you will deal more damage overall, as her spells deal magic damage, and your autoattacks do physical damage
  • more penetration for magic will make your stronger
  • more penetration for armor will make your basic attacks stronger

Magic Penetration/Armor Penetration
  • still not too bad a choice
  • not as troll-y as it could be, yet not as effective as it good be
  • on the note of effectiveness, you are playing ADc Lissandra...

Critical Strike Chance/Damage
  • not too bad when paired, but without one the other is useless
  • won't be focusing on critical chances as much, so neither are particularly useful

Because of this: you should take Attack Speed or Attack Damage. Attack speed would help make the entire build idea of 'lets strike the enemy to proc spirit of the elder lizard as often as we can'. Attack speed will also help you cs and push lane.

SEALS

Armor
  • most 'in the spirit' of ADc
  • will make it look like you're at least trying
  • better than Scaling Armor in early-mid game, which is when you need to be stronger

Gold per 5 seconds
  • will help with your lack of being good

Health
  • Will also look like you are actually trying
  • Better than regen
  • Better than scaling things etc, because again you want to be stronger in early-mid game

Because of this: You should probably take Gold per 5. You're playing ADc Lissandra, which means you're going to need more gold from kills as quickly as you can. ADc Lissandra won't get very many kills. Taking Gold per 5 will actually get you more gold, so you might be able to finish your build by the time the enemy has won.

GLYPHS

Ability Power and Cooldown Reduction
  • both reinforce the hybrid effect of Lissandra as an ADc
  • reinforces the amount of trolling you are able to do
  • you will still be bad because you are ADc Lissandra

Scaling Ability Power
  • may provide almost nothing at level 1, but at level 18 actually provide ~3 AP each
  • 9*3= 27
  • 27 is almost 30 more AP, you could stand a chance!
  • standing a chance is not what ADc Lissandra should do

Mana
  • increased sustain
  • able to farm more with your and

Because of this: you should probably take the flat Ability Power. This way, you will be able to do the maximum amount of damage an ADc Lissandra would be able to do, which isn't much as is, because ADc Lissandra is bad.

QUINTESSENCES

Experience/Gold per 5 seconds
  • very useful because you might be able to keep up with the other players as far as level and gold go
  • you're still ADc Lissandra- you have no hope

Movement Speed
  • you'll be able to get to the enemy team and let them kill you faster
  • you'll be able to easily move into your jungler's blue buff and steal it away with your , just as we will discuss later

Don't consider any other Quintessences, they will not achieve the overall effect ADc Lissandra needs.

Because of this: take any of the Quintessences. Proceed to enjoy while all of your team quits league forever.

Masteries

ACTUAL BUILD

This is the mastery tree which I originally thought up.
Summoner's Wrath is ideal because of the ideal choices of and . Your only chance in lane as Lissandra is to play passively, yes... but at the same time if you get into a fight you need to go full out, using both of your summoner spells on the enemy. It will help immensely early game. Besides, if you can't win, at least it will feel like you tried. If you choose other summoner spells, that mastery point could be placed elsewhere.

Pros:
  • Your and will actually deal damage
  • The 'Spellsword' mastery will actually deal damage
  • You will have slightly more sustain, and you will be able to get more cs with your spells

Cons:
  • You're ADc Lissandra
  • You will need more AD, building hybrid on a champion which doesn't need to is something a troll would do
  • You might get reported

SCEPTICAL BUILD

Another thought you could have is to change up the mastery tree so that you deal no damage with your skills. This is not advised because your and your are both so much fun to cs with. If you want to do something like this, you should have a standard ADc mastery tree like this:
With this, I've taken the points out of the AP-oriented masteries, and moved them into armour and health. Notice that I've still kept the points in cdr, so you can cast your q more often and be more aggressive.

Pros:
  • You'll be slightly more tanky
  • You'll be able to keep a little more lane sustain
  • You'll be able to cast spells more often

Cons:
  • Although you can cast spells more often, you'll run out of mana faster
  • You will deal less damage overall
  • You're ADc Lissandra
  • You will need more AD, building hybrid on a champion which doesn't need to is something a troll would do
  • You might get reported

TROLL BUILD

Finally, the last possible tree is centred around being bad. If you're playing ADc Lissandra, this is probably the one which you'll be looking for:

In this Mastery tree, I've moved your points all over the place, so you won't be able to do very much.
However, I've given you more Attack Speed, so you will be able to steal kills more effectively. I've put more points into decreasing the cool downs of summoner spells. Because of this, you should probably take and together, because you'll be able to steal your junglers monsters more often--or super minions--and you'll be able to cast even MORE often. The big part of taking with this build is that I've also given you points in monster reduction, and in dealing damage per attack to monsters. This will surely mess with your jungler, and anybody trying to steal your cs. Caster minions are pretty annoying, anyways.

Pros:
  • You'll be able to steal more neutral buffs from your allies AND your enemies
  • You'll be the king of dragon stealing, with your to flash in, and your to nab it at the last second
  • You'll be able to cast more often
  • You'll laugh a lot more because you're impressively bad, and a level 1 Poppy would probably hands down be able to kill you
  • You will have increased chances of being reported

Cons:
  • You're impressively bad, and a level 1 Poppy would probably hands down be able to kill you
  • You won't deal nearly as much damage as you'll need to
  • You're ADc Lissandra
  • You will need more AD, building hybrid on a champion which doesn't need to is something a troll would do
  • You might get reported
  • You will have increased chances of being reported

Summoner Spells

Explanation:

For ADC Lissandra, you won't need too much mobility. In fact, trying to improve your mobility is a lost cause right off the bat. Because of this, don't worry about smart picks like or . These are what APc Mid Lissandra would do, and she's dumb.
Often, you won't need as much mobility, because literally all of your skills will help you in some way or another catch up to your opponents. This is why choosing and are very wise choices to help you win in trades and full on fights.

Other Choices:
Most people who play the ADc role will pick other summoner spells instead. Among these are
, , , , etc. There are chosen to help escape from fights once you've won them, or help to shield yourself when you enter into a battle you know you wouldn't normally be able to take. ADc Lissandra doesn't need these, because you have no hope anyways unless you deal obscene amounts of damage and bully one person. Playing tactfully isn't something that somebody playing ADc Lissandra would --- nor should --- do.

BEST Choices:
If you're playing the way ADc Lissandra should be playing, taking summoner spells which are never used is always your best choice. Some of these spells are actually ridiculously helpful in your ultimate goal---Trolling.

:
This is the best summoner spell for ADc Lissandra. By taking , you'll be able to tell your entire team that you're a complete and utter idiot at least once a minute. If you take , casting it immediately after it's cooldown is done is actually your first priority, especially if you're in a team fight. It may be 3 minutes into the game, but checking for an early game Baron is probably priority anyway, right?

/:
Both of these wonderful choices will greatly help your lane sustain. This is perfect for CSing, which is really all that you're good for. Late game, you might be able to push tower more effectively with your massive army of minions that you've more-or-less resurrected with . Many people will also tell you to 'Thank Your Supports', and what better way to do this than give them back the mana which they need then to use and give it to them? Besides, damage on an ADc is pretty overrated.

:
This is a summoner spell which should probably be taken more often. Once every four or so minutes, you can almost fully ignore being dead. Who likes being dead? Certainly not ADc Lissandra. Taking will also help a lot with holding onto your Nexus when you've completely fed the enemy team, and also help you to feed even more. Be sure to use this summoner spell as early on and as frequently as possible, because that way you'll be dead the least.

/:
These two summoner spells have an insane amount of synergy together. Both and also have a lot of synergy with . Using will help you excellently to 'gank', but by 'gank'ing, I really mean kill stealing. A fed ADc Lissandra is almost as fed as an actual ADc anyways, so you'll need to snatch up as many early game kills as you can. is also really good for feeding, because you can use it to get right next to their team in a teamfight when they are doing a lot better than you! is also really helpful in the same way. Because you will always be behind every other champion, as you're bad, you might eventually need to clear camps in the jungle. is the perfect choice for that. It will also allow you to snatch up neutral monster buffs from both your own team and your enemy team. The only problem with this is that the enemy team will probably end up with the neutral buff anyways, because you're going to die. The only other problem with this is that you might end up laughing so hard that you hurt yourself.

Skills

Passive: Iceborn

Explanation:

This is really cool, but also really mediocre. 18 seconds isn't fast enough to help Lissandra clear the jungle faster, and in lane it kindof helps with sustain, but that's not really what an ADc needs. Essentially, it's not good for ADc Lissandra because it doesn't help you troll anymore. In any case, you're stuck with it because that's how this sortof thing works.

Q: Ice Shard

Explanation:

Deals a mediocre amount of base damage. However, it breaks and slows people behind the first thing which it hit. Anything that it slows will also take damage from . This is really cool and makes it a lot of fun to cs with. This spell also scales with AP and not AD, making ADc Lissandra a bad idea.

W: Ring of Frost

Explanation:

This is an incredibly useful skill. Not only will it proc on everything near you, it will also snare them for a small amount of time, so you can auto attack them a few times, stacking more, and activating the passive on . This is really fun to watch, and really useful when catching people who are pretty low on health because you won't kill people any other way. This skill is really fun in the jungle also, because it will snare every neutral monster in a jungle camp. If you are on blue side, snaring the golems and then walking away will not actually cause a reset of any kind unless you are bad. That being said, playing ADc Lissandra is a bad idea, and if you are trying it, you are probably pretty bad anyways. Note once again, that this spell scales with AP and not AD, making ADc Lissandra a bad idea.

E: Glacial Path

Explanation:

This skill is very fun. It's much like Zed's Shadow, and Ezreal's Flash. Please don't use this to cs, because not only does it deal pretty mediocre damage, but it is also your best way to run away. A really funny thing to do with this spell is to cast it over a wall for the jungle and then start to walk in the opposite direction. When the enemy comes after you, cast this spell again to land where the claw was at the time. This is especially funny to watch. Finally, your claw will not scale with AD, which once again makes ADc Lissandra a bad idea overall.

R: Frozen Tomb

Explanation:

This is Lissandra's ultimate skill. It's pretty cool. You could cast it on yourself which makes yourself invulnerable for 1.5 seconds, and dealing 150/300/450 magic damage, plus 70% of your AP (which you don't have) to all nearby enemies and slowing their movement speed by 20%-- but you're ADc Lissandra, so you should probably just cast it on one enemy, freezing them 'solid' so they can't do anything. This is the more troll thing to do. Once again, this skill will scale the most with AP, but you're ADc Lissandra and that's once again a bad idea.

In any case, to be honest this is how you build the skill order:
You should find a 4-sided dice and every time you level up, you roll. If the result is a 4 and you cannot invest in your ultimate this turn, reroll. Do this every level! (I just tried to make pictures when I did it for the guide). This method is perfect for creating a completely random character - guided by the icy wind of the frejlord. League is a RPG, right?

If you want to succeed, you should instead invest your skill points into q and e first - this way you will be able to farm more efficiently with your and hurt the enemy more while having an escape with your . However, her is also quite useful as an escape as well as a snare in team fights, so don't be shy to move some skill points into this skill as well.

Item Builds

Starting Items

Currently, the iconic starting build for an ADc is simply by itself. Due to the flat hp regen and also the flat hp, it can be stupidly useful early game and it becomes a worse pick overtime.

Another good pick would be due to the speed.

Personally, the item that I start off with is or for a number of reasons.
  • Both build into which is hands down my favorite item and it should be yours too.
  • Furthermore, builds into both and and these are both really strong on Lissandra - attack speed and moving through people is cool.
  • The dagger reminds me of and he is really cool.
  • Both of the benefits of these two items are actually useful.

First Back

For my first back, I always pick up a . Always.

Zeal is the best item in the entire game.
  • It provides 5% move speed which is useful as ADc Lissandra is slow and retarded.
  • It provides a 10% chance that you might actually deal damage. This is essentially 's passive ability but 10% of the time.
  • It provides 18% attack speed. This means that it provides 9% attack speed, but twice. This is a big deal.

There are other decent options as your first back. However they are not as good, because is as I said, the best item in the entire game.

This item gives you more attack damage and 10% life steal, which gives you sustainability and builds straight into which is a beautiful game and builds into . Essentially this is a universal item and you should end up getting it no matter which direction you build your character in.

This item gives you +45 speed, which you do need, and also more attack speed which as I said, you ought to rely on. The closer to 2.5 attacks per second you can get the stronger you will be due to dealing more damage than you (the pathetic ADc Lissandra) could possible deal.

///
All of these items provide AP and will scale with your items. These are items which Lissandra could actually use and items I would recommend if you were a mid player. But in my experience, there are no good mid-laners. Only ADcs. So don't buy these. These are normal.

Offensive Items pt 1
/////

The first of the offensive items are items with beautiful damage procs and wonderful benefits.

  • EVERY attack deals 5% of the targets current health in physical damage.
  • Provides an active which deals lots of damage (15% of max hp), heals you for the same, and also slows the enemy so you can catch them.
  • If you were to do the math, this item is completely gold efficient if the passive and active together are worth at least 267 gp.
  • This item is OP and in the current meta I'm not sure what I'm talking about. Neither are you though, or else you wouldn't be reading this guide in the first place.

  • This item gives another 70 attack damage, which will really help in the ACTUALLY dealing damage part (even though thats boring and doesn't involve stealing your jungler's buffs)
  • This item gives 25% more crit chance which should also help gigantically.
  • This item's passive increases the bonus critical damage from 2x to 2.5x. This means you will do more damage 35% of the time because you should always have a . Always.

  • This item provides magic resistance making it viable right off the bat - especially if the enemy team is losing mid or playing / mid and everything.
  • This item gives even more attack damage.
  • The passive gives you enough bonus attack damage that it's gold efficient when you're at 75% hp. Because you're stupid and playing ADc Lissandra, you'll be at 0% hp the majority of the game. That means you get 40 ad from the passive the majority of the game.

  • is efficient even without the passive ability, and efficiency means everything in LoL.
  • This item also gives you 1000 mana so you can feel what it would be like to be the way you actually should be.
  • The passive gives you lots of damage and the ad and mana regen could come in handy throughout the game. Now that's efficiency!

  • This item's claim to fame is the 10+50%ad damage it deals to the two nearest targets with every basic attack. If this is worth at least 67gp to you than this is efficient.
  • The attack speed could totally come in handy. 70% is a lot and this means you might be able to reach the maximum which should be one of your few goals.
  • Attacking three monsters at once means you can take out both of the buff monster minions while only attacking the buff monster. TL;DR - steal your jungler's buffs.

  • Not only does this item give you hp and mana regen passively (which are OP and frankly should be the new meta), but with the 35 AD the base stats of the item are gold efficient.
  • This item gives 30% increased damage against monsters and minions making farming even easier and more fun for you in lane.
  • The 10% CDR allows you to snare/stun/escape 10% more often.
  • The passive does true damage on hit from spells and basic attacks - that's really often with an attack speed item or a

Offensive Items pt2
//
Honestly, buy two of the three or two . On ADc Lissandra, speed means everything - both attack speed and movement speed. The critical strike change given from will also drastically improve your damage output.

  • This item gives you more movement speed which will help you run away from threats - any of the enemies (they will always be stronger than you)
  • This item lets you move through units which is OP.
  • The attack speed and the critical strike chance make you both manoeuvrable and deal damage, two of the most important things which you need to do.

  • Lightning is cool.

  • One word: Tenacity. If you have tenacity you can actually survive in a team fight - the cc which is reduced here may save your life a bajillion times, and I promise you - I know what I'm talking about.
  • The attack speed buff is necessary because you're bad.
  • More movement speed. See for more details.
