IntroductionThis guide still undergoing edit's, add's and suggestions. Post in the comment box below to provide feedback until the actual release. Thanks!
This guide will be a brief explanation of showing how Jax was a true presence in closed beta, and now he's came back to the scene with a little bit of cheese.
The reason why Jax was so strong in Beta was he could dive you and dodge towers, and do massive damage and still tank like a boss, but with this new Jax, he has lost his edge from back then.
Here stands a simple guide to how to win your lane early with the champ.
You will notice there isn't a lot of explanation in this guide, if you wish to look for more info on JAX please review my other guides or threads.
Or the other Jax guide.
MasteriesThe reason for these masteries is you want to hit as hard as possible at level 1-6 early game. There is a theory to where if you dominate early game you will probably dominate them before they get to late game.
The 9 defense is for the MR and the dodge proc, which is self explanatory.
The masteries are user preference and you should never hesitate to try new things.
RunesThe flat AD scales with Jax's Leap ability and a little bit of his W. At level 2-4 when he jumps on you with empower, he will probably take half your HP. The purpose for these runes is to dominate early game, but at the same time have some survivability because you will not have regeneration early on if you build first.
Explanation:Flash is OP on everyone, and ignite just adds to the bullshit damage you do with Jax on the empower jump or the jump empower or the jump hit empower combos.
Passive: Equipment Mastery
Jax's prowess with weapons and armor increase his fortitude as he gains equipment. Jax gains 3 health per point of Attack Damage and 2 health per point of Ability Power received from items.
I still don't like this passive.
Q: Leap Strike
Jax leaps towards a target. If it's an enemy, he attacks it and deals an additional 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 (+70% of ability power) magic damage.
Cooldown 13 / 11 / 9 / 7 / 5seconds
Jax's chase down skill.
Jax charges his weapon with energy, causing his next attack to deal 75/110/145/180/215 (+40% ap and 40% bonus ad) bonus magic damage.
His attack enhancer.
E: Counter Strike
Passive: Increases Jax's dodge chance by 10 / 12 / 14 / 16 / 18%.
Active: Jax stuns surrounding enemies for 1 second and deals 80 / 100 / 120 / 140 / 160 (+60% of ability power) magic damage to them.
Usable only within 7 seconds of dodging an attack.
The skill that counter's all AD carries without
R: Relentless Assault
(passive) Jax's basic attacks increase his attack speed by 6 / 10 / 14% for a short duration, and hitting the same unit 2 consecutive times enhances Jax's next attack for 140 / 170 / 210 (+70% of ability power) bonus magic damage. Attack speed stacks up to 10 times.
(active) Grants 20/35/50 + Jax's dodge percent in bonus magic resistance for a short time upon activation.
Cooldown 60 seconds
Cost 80 mana
This ultimate is misunderstood a lot, people wonder why they aren't doing great in team fights, and the answer is you need to get your full rotation on to be at your best. Otherwise you need to nuke them really hard with your combo but not get raped by their casters, because believe me, everyone will target YOU.
Skill OrderAt level one if you're vs someone who auto attacks a lot start with E, because you're probably going to get raped by harass.
Never start with W, Q does more dmg at level 1.
Max Q as soon as possible no matter what you're doing on Jax.
W comes next because of the cooldown.
Max E if you're a lazy player like me and just farm all day.
Item BuildsDorans Blade = Rape Jump / Counter hit / Hit / empower / BOOM
Anything else = more survivability in lane like cloth armor. You can get lantern to use it to jump across walls.
Guinsoos = you need this
Gunblade = You need this
Everything else luxury build it based on your opponents type of damage.
Early GameYou can't keep your mana bar full so use it when it's full.
Harass occasionally, try to farm.
Know when to go in or stay out.
Know when you're out classed.
You have the highest attack in the game so if you go in melee combat you will win 1v1 or even 1v2. At level 4 you're able to rape face with your counter hit. or at level 3.
Mid GameBy now you usually will have gun blade, if you catch people alone, they will probably die, since you can almost 1v1 anybody and everybody in the game. You should probably start placing wards around and carry 1 ward to jump over to. That 75 gold will save your life and will allow you to farm more then getting ganked and dieing. You either have guinsoo's already or are about to get it, and this is when you start wrecking face. Get ready to keep a tab on baron, because when Jax has baron buff the game turns completely.
Late GameYou probably don't have a Morgana on your team, because if you did you probably wouldn't even get this far in the game. By then you should have triforce and maybe atma's or banshee's and you should be able to triple pot at certain points, but make sure you only drink your elixirs when you know it's the decisive fight, Because if you drink them throughout the game you lost gold and farm. Unless you actually killed the enemy heroes. Control baron and your golem/lizard buffs.
Team FightsAs Jax, you want to wait for your team in to pick people off. If you go in to early you get screwed, do no rotations of damage and you will probably start losing. The only exception is if you're fed or they don't have all 5 there. Watch out for those that use sword of the divine, and have thornmail/frozenheart/randuins omen.
Try to counter hit as many people as you can, take down their squishies and use wards to your advantage for mobility.
Jax DemonstrationDemonstration Video will come soon.
Part 1 Will be of what you can do when your team is getting raped.
Part 2 Will be of when you are raping the other team.
