General Introduction to Nidalee
Before I introduce myself, I'd like to talk about basically who Nidalee is and what she does. Nidalee's main job is to split push and become big enough so that the enemy team needs to send at least 2 people to stop you from farming/pushing. And again, since your main job is to push and destroy your lane, you need a lot of wards and think that your lane is totally separated from all other lanes. Why do Nidalee go top over other lanes? First, you won't be bothered as much as the mid lane from junglers, dragon pressure, and bot pressure. Second, there isn't a support to disturb your harasses. Third (My favorite) BUSH! It helps you lose minion aggro, zone enemies out, harass extremely easy, avoid ganks, avoid skillshots, and passive proc. Once you start dominating (Which you will) your lane around level 3 or 4, you have to be very careful of enemy junglers ganking you since you will be pushed due to Nidalee's constant harass, making you the number one priority of enemy jungler's 'to gank' list. Although Nid's very mobile, it's extremely difficult to escape low level ganks even with boots+passive+flash. By forcing enemy mid lane and or jungler coming all the way to top lane, enemy bot lane/dragon is VERY vulnerable. Besides even if they come, you should be able to easily run away from most ganks since you will pretty much have their entire top-jungle warded. In the right conditions (Nasus top for example), I can carry a high 1900 elo games with AP Nid with relative ease.

The reason why Nidalee is such a great pick in draft mode is because she is VERY flexible. Depending on both allied and enemy team composition, you can choose the best playstyle against their team. Is you're team poke-heavy with champions like [champ/kennen.png], [champ/caitlyn.png], [champ/drmundo.png], [champ/janna.png]? Go AP if you'd like for the ultimate poke team. Team lacking strong, tanky-dps while lacking AD damage, or a tough lane-opponent at top? Go AD Nidalee! Allied team composition that can greatly benefit from splitpushing also works with both AD and AP Nidalee. Now, let's look at the detailed summary of each of the play-styles.

WAIT! Before we go into anymore detail, if you don't have wards, you're screwd. Never forget to buy at least 2 [items/sight-ward.png]every time you go back.

TL;DR, Nidalee OP vs everyone

Little bit about me, Bischu
[http://i.imgur.com/xmLDQ.jpg]

Hey guys, My name is Bischu. I am currently standing around ~2300 elo and I mostly play mid and top but I'm mostly known for my Nidalee. Nidalee was my first 'main' champion and still is my favorite. I picked up Nidalee after one game where I was picked off with just a single javelin. I was only playing AP Nidalee even after the heal nerf but after I hit a wall with AP Nidalee, I started playing AD Nidalee. Hearing how 'unskilled' I was for playing such an easy champion was common but it really didn't phase me and in fact I continued improving every single little detail when it came to Nidalee. I personally think I know every single ins and outs with Nidalee which made me very mechanically experienced thus maximizing my damage, kills and not missing any wall-jumps mid escape. The next message is directed to people who would like to climb the ladder only with AP Nidalee, it's definitely harder to win with AP Nidalee compare to AD Nidalee, but if you insist that you should only play AP Nidalee, it's definitely doable. Personally I wasn't able to play AP Nidalee past 2000 elo, but do not fret! There's a player named 'yoyaC' who exclusively plays AP Nidalee and is currently standing around 2300 elo with his unique build.

01/01/2012 - Created guide

02/01/2012 - Changing the guide to Real Top Terror (The Complete Guide) with more detailed information of possible Nidalee builds.

02/01/2012 - Removed [items/rod-of-ages.png] from the item build.

09/01/2012 - After trying few more playstyles, taking [summoners/ignite.png] vs certain lane opponents can help you snowball. Added a bit more detail to Spells.

28/01/2012 - Removed 'Updated Constantly' because I wasn't updating constantly, guide updated for AD Nidalee since this guide was more focused on AP Nidalee

02/02/2012 - Added a bit of Hybrid section. Also, after the Deadliness Critical to level-scaling AD mastery change, the Deadliness is now definitely an underwhelming choice since AD doesn't matter THAT much around lategame and we don't really need to use it as a prerequisite for Lethality(Extra critical dmg) anyways.

07/05/2012 - Huge Update to the currently outdated Nidaree
- Added [items/rod-of-ages.png] back in for AP Nidalee

Introduction - AP 'Big Cat' Nidalee
AP Nidalee is probably my favorite style for Nidalee because I have a lot of fun playing her since you literally one shot squishy champions from mid-late game. However, AP Nidalee is rather a situational pick and is fairly hard to pick up off the bat. You must have a great map-awareness to do well with this style and great map awareness comes with great warding. The feeling of the clean impact noise that accompanies 1200 damage with your javelins is pretty damn satisfying.

I must say, the build that I will talk on my guide is inspired by yoyaC's very unique build. I always considered going even slightly tanky on Nidalee was a waste since you shouldn't be in range to get caught anyway, but the sustain [items/catalyst-the-protector.png] provides is too good to pass, especially considering how mana hungry and squishy AP Nidalee is. Without the catalyst, AP Nidalee is outclassed to more traditional AD Top like [champ/renekton.png] and [champ/riven.png].

Although I really don't like the idea of rushing [items/rod-of-ages.png] but as I said above, due to lack of sustain/tankiness that most bruiser top has, it's extremely hard to survive the laning phase without [items/catalyst-the-protector.png].

Pros:

- Amazing utilities
- Great poke damage
- High mobility/Great map control
- PUSHES ALL THE THINGS
- Very high damage combo at level 6
- Strong Heal
- Objective steals with Nidalee's [skills/nidalee/q.png]
- Can deny baron attempt just by herself with [skills/nidalee/q.png].
- Still can be a huge part of the team even with a bad start.

Cons:

- Very mana hungry
- High skill cap
- Very weak pre-6
- Situational pick
- Farm-dependent (Item-dependent)
- Needs a lot of wards to make it work
- Extremely squishy
Introduction - AD 'Terror-Lane, Terror-Game' Nidalee [Aggressive]
I'm going to get in the most detail for this build since the majority of Nidalee players go AD nowadays. AD Nidalee is the strongest and the most popular style for Nidalee. Why is it so popular? I mean the only thing that possibly benefit from going AD Nidalee is catform's [skills/nidalee/q.png] and the attackspeed buff from her [skills/nidalee/e.png], right? Well, it's surge of popularity acme after the heal nerf LoL went through around July of 2011 and yes, there is only a single spell that scales off of AD but due to her powerful autoattacks, and the amazing base-stat of all her skills such as Nidalee's [skills/nidalee/e.png], cougar form providing you with additional resistances, it makes perfect sense for her to go AD. Think of Tristana, almost everything except for her Q, the autoattack stereoid scales off of AP and its scales are extremely high, yet she's known to be one of the strongest late-game AD carries.

Few things to watch out with AD Nidalee is that you must not waste your mana on frequent spears and unnecessary traps. By all means, throw down a trap or two if you're not getting harassed at all, but if you expect any harass, especially if you're against a high-harass/sustain champion such as [champ/renekton.png] and [champ/yorick.png]. Since you don't have any additional mana-regeneration from runes nor masteries, few javelins or unnecessary traps can cost you your life. As I mentioned beforehand, because you will be autoattacking your enemy which draws creep-aggro for a split second, forcing all enemy creeps around you to stop attacking for a second while your minions continue attacking the enemy minions, you will be pushing quite a bit even if you're last hitting consistently.

The reason Nidalee is considered 'OP' is due to her ridiculous laning ability. By going full Armor Penetration runes and 21 on the offensive tree you can drive people off your lane by the 5 minute mark (if they decided not to give their cs up) by simply abusing the bush with one of the best passives in the game [skills/nidalee/p.png] and auto-attacking your opponent non-stop while not affecting your creepscore by much. Although you can go on a autoattack rampage against your opponent, always prioritize minion cs over harass. Once you get your wriggles, you're pretty much impossible to be driven off your lane (Unless it's [champ/renekton.png] or [champ/yorick.png]. You will be able to take enemy's tower fairly early with your bonus attackspeed from your heal and the demolitionist mastery. Once the tower is taken, you can start roaming to gank other lanes, counter-jungling, and take important map objectives such as the dragon while your lane is pushed.

Pros:

- Can't really counter AD Nidalee
- Amazing utilities
- Very easy to pick up/low skill cap (Aside from wall jumps)
- Can split enemy team up because AD Nidalee has just enough damage and health/resistances to just tunnel-vision enemy team's squishy carries which forces another enemy player to aid their carry from getting zoned out from the fight or dying. Because of this, your teammates will almost always have the advantage of fighting 4v3.
- Great map-control
- Zone out your opponent from farming by simply staying in the bush.
- Pretty much forces the enemy team to focus you once you get Atmogs and Trinity Force, which then lets your carries rape the enemy team without being harassed.
- Pretty much impossible to be driven out from lane due to heal and life-steal.
- Very high damage output at all levels.
- Easy farm.
- Not as well as the AP build but still pushes fairly well.
- Not very mana dependent after laning phase, which is also the reason why I take 9 in the defensive tree over 9 in the utility tree.

Cons:

- Kinda squishy, becomes a problem when you get ganked.
- Constantly pushed in lane which makes you an easy target for a gank and since you won't have ghost unlike splitpushing/AP build, you are quite easy to die from a single gank, busting summoners or not.
Introduction - AD 'MakCat' Nidalee [Passive]
I've been seeing several different set of masteries and runes. This particular one is from MaknooN's build that he rolled for quite some time now (5~7 months) but personally thought Nidalee is better off with a full set of AD Masteries with a much more aggressive playstyle overall since you have magic penetration mastery that isn't activated until you're level 6. This build encourages passive early game where you only focus on last hitting until you acquire [skills/nidalee/r.png]. This build also revolves much more around your catform over your human form.

Pros:

- Overall stronger Cat form
- Bit of extra damage from procs and [skills/nidalee/q.png]
- Safer than the alternate AD Nidalee build
- Plus other AD Nidalee's pros

Cons:

- Doesn't take as much advantage of Nidalee's early game
- Slow paced and lets your opponent control the lane.
- Plus other AD NIdalee's cons
Introduction - AD 'FatCat' Nidalee [Tank]
Basically, you sacrifice damage and become tanky, simple right? When the team needs someone to soak up damage while not dealing cushion-like damage, you want to go the tankdalee. Just like the other AD Nidalee builds, we're still going to pick [items/trinity-force.png] as our main damage item. However, we're going to prioritize defensive items such as [items/frozen-heart.png][items/force-of-nature.png][items/randuins-omen.png] over [items/warmogs-armor.png] or [items/atmas-impaler.png]. Although both set of items are 'defensive', Atmas and Warmogs encourage a more aggressive style, however items such as Randuin's or Frozen Heart can wither your opponents away.

Pros:

- Noticeable tankiness compare to other builds
- Although Tankier, very little damage is sacrificed early on.
- Can pretty much tunnel vision their squishy carries since you can withstand the damage you'll receive.
- Provides Nidalee with more debuff in her kit.
- Plus other AD Nidalee's pros

Cons:

- Noticeable gap in damage late game compare to other builds.
- Plus Other Nidalee's Cons
Introduction - The Hybrid 'Pubstomp Build' Nidalee
The Hybrid Nidalee is a build that focuses very hard around the early-game to mid-game phase. Basically lets you do tons of damage from early game to late game but makes you squishy as hell so not recommended vs heavy harassers if you can see it coming. Same thing with every other builds, you want to harass often while not missing last hits (Priority: Last hitting>Harassing) and with the 31 armor penetration, your hits are going to stick. Your playstyle is going to be identical to AD Nidalee.

I want to talk a little bit about Hybrid Nidalee's mastery points. I usually go 26/4/0 to compliment her build. Since we're hybrid (AD+AP), we're going to spend additional 4 points in the cooldown mastery and an additional point in magic pen. The obligatory Demolitionist mastery to poke towers down harder and we don't take the Deadliness/Lethality masteries since after the Ziggs patch, they changed the mastery from 1% additional critical chance per point to level-scaling AD mastery. Again, you're going to be focused on early game so this is a set of masteries that is pretty irrelevent to what we're going to do. I spend another 3 points into Havoc to increase our damage potential and skip vampirism. Again, we're giving up sustain/defense for offense so I put another 4 points into Blast, which gives you 18 Ability power at level 18 (Pretty good). However, we don't want to spend any points on Archmage since we're not going to have that much AP thus percentage gain of AP will be minimal. The rest of 4 points, you spend it on Sunder and Executioner for obvious reasons. For defensive, 1 point on Resistance and 3 on Hardiness since Nidalee's base armor is pathetic.

Pros:

- Tons of damage throughout the game
- Very snowbally (Once you have a kill lead on your opponent, you'll probably win your lane 100%)
- Lots of action
- Harasses better than AD Nidalee since you stack dorans blade and get a pickaxe for enhanced harass
- All skills hurt!

Cons:

- Oh so very squishy
- Pretty easily shut down due to squishiness
- Somewhat mana-dependent
- If you don't win your lane, the game's going to be pretty tough.
- Need to keep Rageblade stacks up at all time.

Balanced out between additional AP/Magicpen and AD/Arpen for early game harrass.

AD 'Win Lane' Bruiser Nidalee

Another standard solo top brusier masteries. I take those defensive mastery points to minimize the damage I get from minions from harassing as much as I can.

AD 'MakCat' Nidalee

Magic penetration and Cooldown masteries to maximize damage from [skills/nidalee/r.png] and 9 in Utility mainly for the extended buff duration.

AD 'The Fat Cat' Nidalee

Pretty much 0 damage from minions, especially early on. 9 in Offensive for Armor penetration since our main source of damage will be from AD. 21 in defensive, pretty self explanatory.

Same deal with AP Nidalee, you're going to be really squishy but we can fix that with runes.
Summoner Spells
For AD Brusier, AP Oneshotter, Hybrid Pubstomp

YOU DON'T HAVE A CHOICE ANYMORE [summoners/ignite.png] + [summoners/flash.png]

No other combinations of summoner spell bring as much to Nidalee than Flash + Ignite, seriously just take these two.

[summoners/flash.png]

On Nidalee, flash is a must. You can use it for escaping, positioning, and kill combos. Use your flash to flash over a wall or into a bush, giving you enough distance and movement speed to outrun your enemy, use it to focus enemy's AD or AP carry without their tanks/disablers preventing you from getting near the carries (MAKE SURE YOUR TEAMMATES FOLLOW UP WITH YOU). If they are low enough, you can attempt a kill combo using flash. Since Nidalee's level 6 Pounce + Swipe + Takedown combo does somewhere around 300 to 500 damage, you can catch yoour opponents off guard by suddenly going into catform -> flash -> Pounce + Swipe + Takedown combo (Ignite if you have it).

[summoners/ignite.png]

Ignite goes so damn well with Nidalee and it's such a great spell on Top lane since it pretty much nulls any lifesteal or hp-pot effect during 1v1 battle. It has a fairly low cooldown and goes amazingly well with your kill combo.
Skills
[skills/nidalee/p.png] Passive: Prowl

Moving through brush increases Nidalee's movement speed by 15% for 2 seconds.

Explanation:
Definitely the top 5 passives in the game. Gives you so much movementspeed that helps you all game. This is also what makes Nidalee extremely strong during laning phase. It helps you harass, escape from ganks, catch up to people, dodge skillshots, helps with last hitting YOU NAME IT MAN

[skills/nidalee/q.png] Q: Javelin Toss / Takedown

Human: Nidalee tosses her javelin, dealing 55 / 95 / 140 / 185 / 230 (+65% of ability power) magic damage on impact (deals up to 250% damage the further away the target is).

Cougar: Nidalee's next attack deals additional damage based on how low her opponent's life is.

Cooldown 6 seconds
Cost 50/60/70/80/90 mana
Range 1500

Explanation:
Your main source of damage if you're AP and a great poke/finisher if you're AD or Hybrid. This skill does 575 base damage and does an additional 1.625 scaling damage at max range and level 5 javelin. That is a huge damage nuke with a 6 second cooldown! As long as you have MPen boots, Deathcap, and lichbane it does a whopping 1100 dmg on people around 50 MR which again is amazing for a 6 second nuke. This skill is so strong that you can stop a Baron attempt 1v5. There has been so many cases where I end up poking them down to below 500 so we can end up stealing the baron from the enemy team. Try not to use this skill to harass in lane due to it's heavy mana cost and chances are, it's going to miss or hit a minion. Extremely strong and scary skill, will discuss further down. There will be seperate chapter for this skill. In cougar form it's one of the execution skills like Volibear's Frenzy and Lee Sin's 2nd part to his resonating strike, also is the only spell that scales with AD in Nidalee's arsenal. Make sure you use this skill last when performing your cat-combo since the lower their health is, more damage it'll do. Also, this skill will reset your autoattack so it helps to maximize your damage or to grab that extra cs.

There's a little trick I always use to increase the damage of my javelins. Because the distance measured for the javelins are the distance between Nidalee and the target WHEN the javelin hits and not the javelin's initial position, by quickly going into cougar form and pouncing backwards, you can have an additional burst of damage.

[skills/nidalee/w.png] W: Bushwhack / Pounce

Human: Nidalee lays a trap that deals 80 / 125 / 170 / 215 / 260 (+40% of ability power) damage over 2 seconds, reveals the target, and reduces their armor and magic resistance by 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% for 12 seconds. Traps last for 4 minutes.

Cougar: Nidalee lunges forward, dealing damage to surrounding enemies. Pounce is not affected by cooldown reduction.

Cooldown 18seconds
Cost 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 / 120mana
Range 900

Explanation:
First of all, do not forget that this skill is mainly to provide you with vision rather than damage/shred. A VERY underrated, underestimated skill. People don't realies that the trap cuts MR and Armor by 40% and grants vision for 12 seconds at max level, which means more damage from your combo! This spell used to be very useful for taking objectives and clearing wards but since dragon's and Baron's resistance can't be shredded and wards cannot be revealed with it anymore.

This skill aids you to controlling the bushes. Also a common misconception is that Nidalee can't be ganked as long as they have this skill, but the problem is that this skill requires a fair amount of mana, and because it is so damn important during the laning phase not to waste your mana on this skill, it is only used as a luxury to place around river and conjoining paths to ward off junglers. Again, don't waste mana on other skills such as javelins and traps, the majority of the mana goes into healing yourself, it's extremely difficult to keep up with your mana to afford an additional trap to successfully provide vision for junglers effectively.

On her Cat-form, Nidalee's trap is a short leap attack named pounce. Very useful skill when it comes to both utility-wise and damage-wise. You want to be using this skill constantly to travel since it saves quite a lot of time. You can jump over most ledges and walls around objectives such as blue, red buffs, dragon and baron walls. This skill takes quite a lot of practice to use this skill without fail mid-fight or during an escape since Nidalee jumps to whichever direction she is facing and she might attempt to autoattack right before you jump to a desired location thus jumping to an unintended direction. It's so damn easy to mess up with this skill during a fight/escape since you're busy keeping yourself alive. There are several guides that I've seen on both Solomid.net and Mobafire.com that show you which walls you can and can't pounce over. I decided not to post much pictures up since my fingers are already disintegrating.

[skills/nidalee/e.png] E: Primal Surge / Swipe

Human: Nidalee heals an ally champion for 50/85/120/155/190 (+70% of ability power) and grants them a 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60% attack speed for 7 seconds.

Cougar: Nidelee claws at enemies in front of her.

Cooldown 10 seconds
Cost 60/80/100/120/140 mana
Range 600

Explanation:
The source of 'Oh god how do I get this Nidalee to recall' rage. What Nidalee is REALLY known for, her high scaling fairly short cooldown heal. You want to always use this shit the second you start trading damage for the additional health and Attackspeed and counterattack with your mighty auto attacks. Because of this skill, and the demolitionist mastery, Nidalee wrecks towers super fast. You want to prioritize the heal on yourself before anyone else during teamfights, AND THEN your AD carries and lastly whoever needs it. REMEMBER! YOURSELF ALWAYS COME BEFORE OTHERS WHEN YOU'RE PLAYING THIS CHAMPION. Pretty straight forward on Cat-form, it's an AOE cone-magic-damage nuke that goes amazingly well for clearing waves with your pounce-swipe combo. You can start cleariing all the mage creeps around level 13 with a single swipe if you're AP Nidalee.

[skills/nidalee/r.png] R: Aspect Of The Cougar

Passive: Each additional rank increases the effectiveness of Nidalee's cougar abilities.

Nidalee transforms into a vicious cougar, gaining 20 movement speed, 10/20/30 armor and magic resistance and a new set of abilities.

Cooldown 4 seconds

Explanation:
Again, pretty straight forward, by having this skill, it unlocks a set of 3 additional skills while granting you 20 bonus movement speed, 10/20/30 resistances. Basically you become cat at level 6 and get to swipe stuff and be cute.

Secret OP: Different dance and taunt animation in cat-form.

Skill Order
R>E>Q>W on all 4 builds

The reason why I take heal instead of traps at level 1 is ALTHOUGH it provides your team fair amount of utility (Resistances shredding, vision, warding off an invasion in your jungle) HEAL IS SO MUCH BETTER. You can give your junglers AMAZING LEASHES. You can heal them once when they're doing wolves (While you help your jungler damage the wolves), granting them AS and health you can also do it once more once your mid leashes. However, this only applies to team blue (Bottom-Left Corner) since you can't afford to help your jungler as much on Team purple without losing any experiences and gold from your lane. Basically afk at your tower until minions come when you're on team Purple. The only time you want to take traps at level 1 is if you're sure that there will be an invasion in your jungle or they have a [champ/blitzcrank.png] on their team.

Max your heal for sustain and that sexy Autoattack speed buff, and although I told you to take that level 2 spear, NEVER USE IT UNLESS YOU'RE TRYING FOR A KILL. I've seen so many Nidalees max their q first and fail miserably and they have no clue why. NIDALEE NEEDS SUSTAIN, SHE'S SO GOD DAMN SQUISHY. Even bruiser Nidalee is squishy until [items/giants-belt.png]. And also healing takes a shitload of mana, so once you start fucking around with spears and spamming traps, you're fucked 5 minutes later when your really start needing heal.

You want to max your traps last since the time of vision granted once you step on the trap is same from level 1 through 5 and the only thing that changes is the damage and resistance shredding. AND THAT IT COSTS 2x THE MANA AT MAX LEVEL. Basically, not worth it compared to heal and javelin.

The reason why I don't max q first on AD Bruiser Nidalee is because although heal doesn't scale off AD, she still needs that extra heal to sustain better. Nid has a GREAT SUSTAIN not HEALTH, as in you can get bursted down easily. Especially by [champ/garen.png][champ/kennen.png][champ/renekton.png][champ/riven.png] at 6.

I sometimes take [skills/nidalee/w.png] at level 1 if I'm taking boots 3pot while spawning on the Purple Team (Top-Right) side to invade their jungle at level 1. Junglers that reach fairly low during blue buff such as [champ/amumu.png], [champ/drmundo.png], [champ/fiddlesticks.png], [champ/gangplank.png], [champ/kayle.png], [champ/maokai.png], [champ/nocturne.png], [champ/olaf.png], [champ/xinzhao.png], once they step on the traps and start on the Blue buff anyway will have their resistances shred and damage taken (Fairly miniscule but at level 1 while getting smashed by the golems, it's pretty big) by the trap and you can try to kill the jungler while taking the blue buff with ignite. You'll probably want to bust both summoners when attempting this. If you fail, you'll probably have your ignite down and maybe you even got damaged while attempting so your lane opponent at top will be much more aggressive. You'll get a kill 1/3 times but you might also die 1/3 times.
SOLO TOP CHAMPIONS VS NIDALEE
WILL UPDATE SOON

This was the biggest benefit for being such a flexible champion. Nidalee can adjust to their top-lane so that I'll have an easier time during the laning phase.

[champ/akali.png] You can zone her out pre-6 with both AD and AP, but her level 6 beats your level 6 especially when you're going AP so be careful. Note that traps show invisible units.

[champ/alistar.png] You should win with ease since he's melee and as long as you abuse [skills/nidalee/p.png] in the bush, he won't be able to pull his combos well enough.

[champ/amumu.png] Easy win. Same deal with Alistar, unless he lands his bandage, he'll never be around to damage you.

[champ/anivia.png] Can harass decently well but since you're going to be in the bush most of the time, she won't be able to get her Q-E combo off and to be honest that's the only reason why she's scary. At 6 however you're [skills/nidalee/r.png] is somewhat bad since she can ult and E you every time you can close. Should still win the lane however with the help of jungler since she doesn't have any escape spell and Top lane is a death trap for champions without escape spells.

[champ/annie.png] Same deal with Anivia but easier. She won't be able to hit her Qs since it's a target spell and you'll be in the bush 24/7. Basically you will harass her but she won't be able to as much. She also has no escape so easy ganks.

[champ/ashe.png] Why is she top but easy easy lane to beat nonetheless.

[champ/blitzcrank.png] OH GOD TERROR I CAN'T BEAT HIM NID VS BLITZ NERF NOW PZ.

[champ/brand.png] Due to his somewhat large aoe of his W, you actually might still get harassed in the bush but you can still farm really well against him and harass him with autoattacks at the same time. Don't underestimate his burst at 6 by pouncing towards him, you'll probably get instagibbed with all his combo+ignite.

[champ/caitlyn.png] Due to her stupid range, she can actually hit you pretty easily when you try to harass her with autoattacks. However, due to Nidalee's awesome attack-animation, Nidalee can come out of the bush, hit her, and go back into the bush before she hits you since her attack-animation is pretty slow and funky. Your bush camp will be slightly countered however since she can just trap the bushes so you can't abuse the bush. Overall moderate-difficulty lane.

[champ/cassiopeia.png] Pretty good lane despite Cass's deadly DPS since by going into the bush when you get Q'd by her, she won't be able to wear you down with her Es. However, she can still W you to gain vision but she probably won't since that's a lot of mana wasted. She has no escapes, so tell your jungler to stick around top for easy kills. OK lane.

[champ/chogath.png] Like GP, always go AP Vs Cho'Gath. Practically a free lane and you should be able to take the tower down by 8 minutes without the junglers' help.

[champ/corki.png] Due to the recent surge of [champ/corki.png] and [champ/graves.png] going top, not that abnormal to see those two champs at top. Pretty strong since he can gain vision by Q'ing the bush and he can hit you when you try to harass him from the bush since his attack-animation is really good. Strong combos, sweet escape, about even vs Nidalee.

[champ/drmundo.png] Annoying cleavers but easy lane overall. Use ignite to null his ult.

[champ/evelynn.png] Lol have fun.

[champ/ezreal.png] He's pretty good since he can spam Q to harass you in the bush, he has good escapes vs junglers and fairly big burst at level 6. Don't under-estimate him but you will come out ahead.

[champ/fiddlesticks.png] Drain follows into bush nooooo, but easy lane if you watch out for the drain.

[champ/fizz.png] Pretty fucking annoying but I think everyone knows that. Heal reduction, 2 gap closers, and a somewhat big burst. Somewhat challenging.

[champ/gangplank.png] Whether it is AP or AD you fucking rape this champion. I ALWAYS go AP against Gangplank. Very unlikely to lose vs this lane. I've been seeing several crit-planks top lane in soloqueue (around 10% crit chance)and I've been actually losing quite a bit with this lane match up. Especially when some people know how to work the RNG (Random Number Generator) to abuse crits.

[champ/galio.png] AP nukers' worst nightmare. This guy never dies if you go AP. HOWEVER, if you do go AD, you can wreck galio by autoattacking and zone out by level 6.

[champ/garen.png] IF YOU GO AP THIS GUY WILL FUCK YOU UP LIKE 5 TIMES IN A ROW. Just don't play AP vs this guy EVER. He'll just counter you for rest of your life, fuck this guy. You can win the lane if you go AD though. He's useless late game so just last hit during laning phase and hope for the best.

[champ/gragas.png] Pretty easy lane, go boots3pot to dodge Qs. Harass him with autoattacks to zone him out during laning phase. Make sure to last hit.

[champ/graves.png] Due to the recent surge of [champ/corki.png] and [champ/graves.png] going top, not that abnormal to see those two champs at top. Pretty scary since Graves can fill any role and be pretty good at it. His passive makes him pretty tanky in lane too. Smoke bombs are annoying since you rely on autoattacks for your main damage source during the laning phase and he has a pretty big burst at 6. Just last hit and harass him when there's nothing to last hit.

[champ/heimerdinger.png] Annoying since he can place turrets in bushes and I personally don't like trading hits with the turrets to kill it since you usually come out behind. He has extremely long ranged pokes too so watch out. Can destroy him at level 6 though.

[champ/irelia.png] Due to the recent nerf, noone plays her but just keep harassing and go for the kill at level 6. The both of you pretty much just farm since neither of you can do significant damage to one another until 6. Try to zone her out early though.

[champ/janna.png] :/

[champ/jarvaniv.png] I'm actually surprised how strong Jarvan is in lane. I've been seeing a lot of Jarvan top recently and he hurts a lot. Watch out for his knock-up and a followup by enemy jungler. When he ults, you can always pounce out of his cataclysm though.

[champ/jax.png] Ehh kind of, I've seen several jaxes do so well in soloqueue really hard, BUT THERE WAS THE NERF. He still hurts mid-late though so watch out.

[champ/karma.png] Easy lane.

[champ/karthus.png] Go boot3pot to dodge his Qs while harassing him. When he walls and chases with Q it does a lot of damage so watch out.

[champ/kassadin.png] Easy laning phase, basically Nidalee destroys every melee casters. You autoattack a lot so his E charge stack easily, you can go back into the bush after you autoattack and if you do this fast enough, you can stop his Q from casting like with Gangplank.

[champ/katarina.png] Unless it's Tiensinoakuma, you should have no problem. Just make sure you don't heal when the heal reduction is on you and keep autoattacking her. You should be able to zone her out during lane.

[champ/kayle.png] I'm guessing she's going to get nerfed because she's actually the only one that beats Nidalee in trades early game and she destroys melee champs HARD. Don't underestimate her.

[champ/kennen.png] You can actually outplay Kennen REALLY hard if you go AD and start with boots 3pot. They will blindly Q the bush in attempt to hit you but it's really easy to evade them. Easy lane! Still watch out for his burst at 6 accompanied by a jungler.

[champ/kogmaw.png] Meh-lane. His autoattacks are really long with his W and he can have vision inside the bush at level 6 but because he has no escape, you can just pounce on him and he won't be able to do much.

[champ/leblanc.png] She needs vision to be scary so just abuse bush.

[champ/leesin.png] Lee Sin top has been a thing for about a month now. Note that Lee Sin is useless lategame and he's kind of like the LeBlanc of Top lane. just watch out for his combo, go boots 3pot, evade his Qs, autoattack harass and farm. Go for the kill at level 6.

[champ/leona.png] Meh I can see how Leona can be a problem but again shouldn't be TOO much of a problem. Go boots3pot to dodge her E and should be fine.

[champ/lux.png] After her projectile speed buff of her E, she can hit this really easily now and the procs from her passive hurt. She can also Q to bind you when you try to pounce on her then burst you down with her combo so watch out. Still pretty easy lane.

[champ/malzahar.png] Kinda annoying since he can push so well and his minion blocks javelins. Make sure his Space-AIDS don't get on you since they're also pretty annoying to take care of. Watch out for his combo + supression at 6 because it'll probably kill you when you're 3/4 full of health. Somewhat challenging opponenet.

[champ/malphite.png] He's kind of annoying since he slows your attack speed down by a lot but when Nidalee heals, it pretty much nulls the debuff. He has quite a bit of harass and a good AD stereoid. Watch out for his level 6 accompanied by a jungler.

[champ/masteryi.png] He has an OK gap closer to chase you into bush, still pretty easy since alpha strikes need quit a lot of mana.

[champ/missfortune.png] She can gain vision with her e and has healing reduction from w but her Q doesn't follow into bush so it's ok.

[champ/mordekaiser.png] Pretty Annoying since he can push well with relatively low-cooldown spells but his early game is quite weak due to no spellvamp. Try to get in an autoattack or two while his shield is down.

[champ/morgana.png] Pushes relatively well and has good sustain. Just make her waste mana by going in and out of the bush to bait her Q out.

[champ/nasus.png] Ridiculously easy lane, go have your ways with this guy.

[champ/nocturne.png] Fears annoying but should be fine anyway since you can break it pretty easily with the bonus movement speed with your passive.

[champ/nunu.png] AP Nunu hurts because his E is like 1.0 ratio and has like 4 second cool-down so he can just chase you really easily by bloodboling and constantly Q-ing. He also has good sustain from his consume and you also have no way to cancel his ultimate. Surprisingly difficult lane to go against but useless later on in the game.

[champ/olaf.png] Nidalee's known to hard-counter Olaf since she just kites him all day. Rushing a phage vs Olaf is GG.

[champ/orianna.png] Kinda annoying since her ball gives her vision. You can still harass her and farm realy well vs orianna though.

[champ/pantheon.png] If you go AP against this guy, you're going to have a bad time. He blocks your autoattacks, his nuke(Q) is an instacast so every time you try to autoattack him, he's going to end up winning the trade due to his spear hitting you like a truck. Just be careful vs this guy.

[champ/poppy.png] Ever since Spamhappy posted his guide, there's been quite a few poppy tops but nothing that we can't handle. However so far I haven't beat spamhappy in lane as Nidalee yet.

[champ/rammus.png] Lol why is he top.

[champ/renekton.png] Going AD Nidalee is probably a smart idea vs this tough gator. He has a great gap closer, hard CC, sustain, and is generally tanky. You can attempt to outplay him by going boots 3pot but just going cloth 5pot is highly recommended for he will trade extremely well and is very bursty early on.

[champ/riven.png] Nidalee actually also hardcounters riven. Just go boots 3pot vs Riven and you can outplay him extremely easily. Her Q and E gapclosers aren't enough to bring herself close enough.

[champ/rumble.png] If you go AP you'll have a tough time. If you go AD you'll beat him easily.

[champ/ryze.png] He can snare you right after you come out of the bush since his snare is instant-cast and will hurt you with Q. Kinda challenging.

[champ/shaco.png] Can ward with his JITB but should be an easy lane.

[champ/shen.png] Ban pleaes. He's a really tough lane opponent after Riot overbuffed him.

[champ/shyvana.png] She can clear lane really fast as well as jungle should be still ok to go against. She can chase you into the bush since her initial speed boost with w is pretty high (given that she is maxing W).

[champ/sion.png] Don't underestimate this guy, he hurts a LOT. When you pounce him with cat form, unless you have ignite he's just going to lifesteal everything back. Don't ever directly 1v1 fight him.

[champ/sivir.png] Free mana from going over traps with her spellshield, fairly large burst but easy lane nonetheless.

[champ/skarner.png] Haha kite all day until he punctures you through your chest with his stinger.

[champ/sona.png] Free lane

[champ/soraka.png] Surprising damage but no escape. Watch out for baits at level 6 with her triple heal if she's running summoner heal.

[champ/swain.png] Kinda annoying but you actually have better sustain than he does until 6.

[champ/singed.png] Extremely easy, can zone him out very well in lane.

[champ/taric.png] Like all supports, don't usually see these around top often but should be the same deal with amumu.

[champ/talon.png] If you go AP you're going to have a tough time if their Talon's remotely OK but since I haven't seen much Talon these days it should be fine.

[champ/teemo.png] As one of the few ranged top laners, Teemo can be pretty tough to play against due to his blind and neverending mushrooms. Nidalee and Teemo is around the same level of annoyingness.

[champ/tristana.png] Heal reduction and her range seems a little intimidating but laning phase is the most important so doesn't matter.

[champ/trundle.png] Surprisingly scary and can block your escape route when a gank comes. He actually sustains pretty well vs Nidalee.

[champ/twistedfate.png] TF not going mid maens his ult is already pretty much limited in ganks and his laning is pretty underwhelming so easy lane

[champ/twitch.png] I have a friend that keeps telling me how good twitch top is... but as long as you don't get surprise ganked when he's stealthed, it should be fine.

[champ/tryndamere.png] You can outplay him really hard early on while his ragebar is low. Still, go cloth 5 vs Tryndamere.

[champ/urgot.png] Scary harasses but easily avoidable, he has no escapes so one good gank = dead urgot.

[champ/vayne.png] Try to bait out her Q by going in and out of the bush, watch out for her e since she can stun you pretty easily since you will be around the bushes often. Her ult + Q is pretty annoying, save your pounce and wait until she reappears after her Q stealth runs out.

[champ/veigar.png] Big burst but very easily avoidable with nid. You only really have to watch out for his burst at 6 but since you will have pounce, it'll be pretty easy to juke his combo.

[champ/vladimir.png] He doesnt have a very good sustain until around level 8 or 9 and your early game is very strong, so make sure you harass him and zone him out of creep EXP range.

[champ/udyr.png] Good thing people don't play Udyr top enough to find out that he's actually ridiculously strong. His sustain, tankyness, dps is extremely high and will win majority of the trades.

[champ/warwick.png] Has much sustain as Nidalee but you can still harass him out of the lane. His Q range is deceptively long so watch out.

[champ/wukong.png] Known to do very well against Nidalee for a melee champion due to his extremely sexy gap closer. Make sure you keep your distance vs this champ and harass away.

[champ/xerath.png] Very easy lane. His burst is pretty good nonetheless but one, he needs vision to hit his E and you can juke his ultimate fairly easily with pounce.

[champ/xinzhao.png] He needs vision to be good so just camp bush and harass.

[champ/yorick.png] Probably the hardest lane opponent when it comes to toplane. His damage is pretty high while his sustain being crazy and has an extremely annoying CC that grants vision of the bush. It's a smart idea to go wriggles vs a Yorick.

[champ/zilean.png] Bombs are annoying but again he needs vision to be affective, so just go in and out of the bush. You can also bait his W by going into the bush right after he Qs you.

CHAMPIONS THAT NIDALEE HAS A HARD TIME AGAINST
[champ/garen.png][champ/renekton.png][champ/udyr.png][champ/yorick.png]
Early Game (~9 min)
Nidalee has a great autoattack animation, make use of it. It makes last hitting much easier and can harass extremely well from it. Also the very early game (Level 1~4) really sets who will wear the pants in that lane so make sure you intimidate him enough.

Again, early game phase is probably the most important part of the game for Nidalee. This is also where your passive shines the most. Top has two nice long strips of bushes that you can use to abuse your passive.

Nidalee's passive gives her bonus movespeed for the next 2 seconds, which includes outside of the bush too. USE THIS. You gotta use this to auto-attack your lane opponent and go back into the bush. Exit the bush hit them once, go back into the bush, rinse and repeat. The reason why you want to exit the bush is to lose the creep aggro once you go back into the bush. And I guarantee you they WILL be zoned out even with Magic penetration runes. Just you keep that up until level 6, where you instagib them with ease. Also, you WILL be pushing your lanes out fairly hard.

I usually know when the enemy jungler will gank so I know when to stay back, but Nidalee will be ganked several times since by doing that bush trick, you will draw aggro from the creeps for a moment which means they will stop attacking your creeps, thus allied creeps will end up with more hp than the enemy's creeps. You want to take the first tower around 8~12 min mark depending who you're laning against.

Go back and buy whatever item according to what playstyle you're going for.

Don't forget that your level 1 spear does around 120 at max range around level 2 which is usually just enough to finish a kill off.
Mid (9~25min)
By now, you should be nearing completing your core item and at least 1/3 health left on the enemy turret. After you destroy the turret, it's a good idea to go back immediately and purchase around 3 wards so you become ungankable whether it's from mid lane or jungler. You also take this opportunity to take their Blue/Red buffs and gank mid or open a window for your team to do dragon. However, make sure you don't let your lane opponent to just farm up and get back into the game if you were doing very well. Basically, don't completely ditch your lane just because you took the tower down really fast.

Around 13 min mark, you should have completed your core and start either looking for teamfights or continue pushing. However, try telling your teammates to only bait teamfights but don't actually fight so you can just keep pushing while the enemy team loses time going back and forth contemplating if they should let two of their teammates leave and say give up a map objective or teamfight and let 2nd top tower fall. Make sure you keep buying those wards and continue pushing to finish your main items.

NEVER FORGET THESE [items/sight-ward.png][items/sight-ward.png][items/sight-ward.png][items/sight-ward.png]

If you're going AD and decided to go for phage first, try to autoattack the enemy in human form in attempt to apply the phage proc. As soon as the phage procs, go nuts with catform. You can net easy kills using this way or at least summoner burns.
Late Game
Now you are THE beast. You can literally go straight for enemy carries and they will need 3 people to get you off their carry. Seriously, if you were doing well so far, you really can't lose a 5v5 teamfight. Although Nid is amazing through out all stages of the game, late game is when Nidalee TRULY shines. Her damage is ridiculous, you don't take any damage, you're so god damn mobile, huge threat to the entire team. Hell, by now even your Javelins hurt even if you're AD. Also, even late game. If you're ahead in around 3 levels compare to your AD carry, take the red. Redbuff slow apply + Phage proc is such a nightmare it's not even funny.

By now, rather than splitpushing, you should group as a team and take map objectives. Make sure if you're setting up to say have a fight around somewhere like around Baron, trap everything. Wards can be destroyed by oracles and pink wards while traps cannot. It also doesn't JUST give the vision of someone who stepped on the trap but rather give a small aoe vision of the target, revealing other people inside a bush if that person walks into the bush and again, it cuts their resistances by a LOT which may be unnoticeable due to all the clusterfuck that is going on, but it definitely helps a lot.

I like how you have builds for 4 playstyles! That must have taken quite some effort.
But I'm not sure about the skill order...why max surge first/immediately...yes it's a good skill and you need sustain but what am I a support?

Since his rework, Garen is no longer useless late. I would also say, he even scales into late. So, if you can't win your lane vs Garen, your team is pretty much fucked.

@ AD 'Terror Lane, Terror Game', 'MakCat' NIDALEE and the Core Items.
You give to options, if youre dominated and otherwise.
But, because i playing agressive in early, i feel like i am dominating all the time i play with this guide :D So, when i go back i get 1 or 2 dorans (Depends on my gold amount). Following situation:

I get dominated now. ( Maybe, i made a mistake, overextendet, or got ganked because i didn't had enough wards, etc)
What's to do now? Thats my Question :D
    1. I could go on with the "dominating core-items"
    2. I could get a wiggles and dont sell the dorands
    3. I sell dorans and continue with the "otherwise"-items

How do i know, if i am dominating or not?

@cable429 Nidalee is a hard counter to Riven, because she can just autoattack harrass her all day,and if she decides to jump on you, you can just pounce away

What are your thoughts on Wit's End on AD nida?
I mean it really a cost efficient item, it gives AS, a great stat on AD nida and it also adds some really yummi MR. I usually go this if im vs a mage top.

how is nidalee a hard counter to riven? Riven's damage output 1-5 is higher than nidalee 1-5. start cloth armor and hp5 quints and nidalees harrass doesnt do shit.
