Introduction
Morgana is one of the most powerfull champions imo. She´s got nice CC.She is a really versatile champion which can be a Heavy caster, an AP Support, or even a Tank. (Yes, Tank.)
She Really Shines in teamfights, and can be deadly and supportive while taking care of the rest of the team.
You can rape Squishys while still help your team getting kills with Snares, Ults and Soil. This will also give you lots of assists (Mejai´s Stacks).
She is also a very difficult champion to kill. I have survived 5 men Ganks with her, Even kill one of the chasers.

Hard to Kill.

OFFENSE = 9
Focusing on AP, CDR and Magic Pen.
Archaic Knowledge is Essential.
UTILITY = 21
Focusing on Mana Regeneration and Cooldown Reduction.
Inteligence, Pressence of the Master, and Blink of an Eye being Essential.
Having your Flash and Teleport´s Cooldown Reduced is very important to keep you Moving.
Flash will be up more often to get of ganks or positioning you to pop your ultimate.

Magic Pen is important to your Early game, you need to do full damage every time you hit the Q+W combo.

Theese are my Runes, i encourage you to try your set, this fits my style of playing and i like it, but you can get some AP on Glyphs, or More Healt on Seals, Even AP Quints if you want, just try.

Explanation:
Sweet Passive, Helps for Laning and Pushing. Useful when taking Golem Too. Your healing in teamfights is good too. From 1 to 10... Its an 8
This is the reason you are buying Meki and 2 Mana Potions as Starting items. Just Drop Your Soil on Minions and heal up without danger.
*Note
Passive Works with Death Fire Grasp Active Ability. Get a Really Nice Healing when Casting DFG to a 4k Vladimir =). (Also Works with Hextech, Bilgewater Cutlass, Ignite and Smite)
Q: Dark BindingFires a bolt of dark energy towards a target location, binding the first unit hit to the ground for 2 / 2.25 / 2.5 / 2.75 / 3 seconds and dealing 80 / 135 / 190 / 245 / 300 (+90% of ability power) magic damage.
Cooldown 15seconds
Cost 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 / 120mana

Explanation:
Explosive Snare, Nice Ratio, Nice Range, Enables the use of Tormented Soil, Check Bushes.
Harrass, Get Kills, Stop Chasers, Gank Enabler,, Good to Poke at Tower, Team Disruption.
If a Word defines Dark binding and Morgana is: VERSATILITY.
However It has a looong Cooldown, but still pretty nice skill :)
TRICKS TO LAND A SNARE
1. Pay attention to low hp minions, they are probably going to lasthit.
2. See pattern in the move. When trying to evade an Snare, sometimes your opponente will get patterns, you can read those and foresee their actions.
3. Shoot it from Bushes.
4. Hit Snares from Diagonal lines. It is always easier to hit than a straight snare in the face.
TEAM DISRUPTION
When Pushin a team is gathered at the lane. They go back and forth, suddenly a purple ball hits one of them while they were retreating a bit, HE IS OPEN!!! Your Team Slay the fool giving you advantage and probably teaching him that your snare shouldnt be stopped with the face.
W: Tormented SoilCurses a large area of the ground. Enemies on it are dealt 25 / 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 (+20% of ability power) magic damage each second and lose 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 magic resistance. Lasts 5 seconds.
Cooldown 12seconds
Cost 70 / 90 / 110 / 130 / 150mana

Explanation:
The Second part of your Q+W Combo. Full time Snare will make the champs get 3 Hits. Stacking the MR debuff will make your ultimate to deal a little more of damage. Great Skills in Teamfights. Great for Farming and Healing up with your passive. This is one of the reasons that your mejais get pumped even if not killing. Once you get practice with this you will learn to Pop Q+W almost at the same time to maximize the damage.
At LVL 4 this can kill an entire minion wave with a little ap.
E: Black ShieldPlaces a shield around target friendly champion, absorbing the next 100 / 150 / 200 / 250 / 300 (+100% of ability power) magic damage the unit would take. While active, Black Shield prevents the application of negative status effects. Lasts 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 seconds or until the shield has been depleted.
Cooldown 15seconds
Cost 50mana
Range 600
Explanation:
One of the best Shields in the game. Protect your allies with this, Save your ass from ganks, save others from ganks, Avoid Damage, Save people from killing blows, AVOID THE FKING CC!
NOTE: If Black Shield becomes important in the game, feel free to level it up over Snare or Soil, just a few levels. Try to keep your shield damage resist over your opponent Skill Damage... its nice to have a shield that resist, not just one, but 2 spells.
(Sion pops Stun, you Black Shield it, and Keep Black Shield Alive, that means 2 more CC spells are needed to stop you.)
Remember that Shield should protect the most important thing in the team, not always you...

Morgana´s Black Shield uses
R: Soul ShacklesDeals 175 / 250 / 350 (+100% of ability power) magic damage to nearby enemy champions and slows their movement speed by 20% for 4 seconds. Rod of Ages (AKA RoA) is one of the best items in the game. However i think that 2 of the 3 stats it provide are a waste for Morgana.
It is Expensive because it gives casters the 3 key stats that they need. HP + MANA + AP.
but here comes Morgana to say that it might be not that usefull for her.
Lets discuss this.
HP.
Morgana is no Le Blanc. She is not a Squishy caster with an Escape Move, Shes got her Shield, Ult and Snares plus a solid amount of HP. Shes not an easy kill.
(HP is useful but not optimal, IMO.)
MANA.
I get chalice to solve mana issues. Tear is useful as well. Golem helps too, and Morgana can take golem without sacrificing Hp in the process.
(You are not gonna get oom often with my build.)
AP.
This brings me to the AP portion of the RoA. (THIS IS WHAT WE NEED WITH MORGANA)
Full Charged RoA give us 80 AP (+ Hp and Mana) at the cost of 3035 GP.
That means 37.9 GP per AP point.
Now, my build focus on Mejais Soulstealer, which is risky but totally worth it with Morgana.
(I Encourage you to open your mind. I know Snowballing is not good when in high elo, but Morgana can stack up in a second, and hold the Stacks. JUST TRY!)
5 Stacks = 60 AP (This is almos the minimal you will have) 22 GP per AP point.
10 Stacks = 100 AP (This is average number of stacks.) 12.35 GP per AP point
15 Stacks = 140 AP (This Morgana knows when to ALT + E) 8.8 GP per AP point
20 Stacks = 180 AP (How the fuck are we supposed to kill her!?) 6.8 GP per AP Point.
If we Focus on the AP the Mejais is better than RoA.
Once you get Rabadons + Mejai(20) = (You will be between 450 - 500 AP) This is enough AP, you can choose to build defensive from this point...
Then you get your Banshee´s + Frozen Heart and become Almost Unkillable.
Teamfighting with Zhonyas Hourglasses

One of the aspect Morgana really Shines is Teamfighting. Morg´s Ult can change the flow of the fight in your favor if used properly.
Basically what you want with your ult is to Slow + Stun, the most enemys in range, the better.
So, WHAT DO WE NEED TO ACHIEVE A SUCESFULL SOUL SHACKLES?
Positioning We need to reach every possible target before popping ULT. We got this covered with Flash, but Bush can work too.
Damage Zhonyas Hourglass adds some damage to our output. The damage is important for killing and intimidating, once they see a bunch of damage on them and knowing 4 secs later that damage will be repeated, you will have the other team running away.
Survability One of the most important things when Ulting. You are supossed not to die, Theres no point in engaging with ult just to see you focused and raped in a sec. You need to last 4 secs in there, so here is when Hourglasses comes to play! The 2 seconds stasis from the active will get you alive for half the time your ult needs to Stun, plus some skills focused on kill you totally wasted. Remember, a well functioning Morgana should always be able to stay alive when ulted.
Snowball Items
/..."To Snowball or not to Snowball, that is the question".../To Snowball or not to Snowball, thats the question! Said Hamlet to Ophelia when she said what to buy when playing Morgana...
I recommend to snowball just if you feel comfy with her, that skillset allows you to stack a lot and to keep that stacks while surviving...
But, in the other hand you can go Haunting Guise or RoA to replace the Mejais, the AP will be less, but, you will be more unkillable.
Quoting ELEMENTZ from Lux Guide
/..."From there I grab boots a amp tome right into mejais. You might ask why mejais but picking up stacks on Lux is extremely easy. With her range you pick up kills/assists almost without even trying. Popping W on someone also picks up stacks.".../
Elementz said that on Lux guide... Guess what... Morgana is exactly the same. A Shield that Assists, a AoE damage and Snare to pick off guys, plus an AoE ultimate... So... Why not?
Early Game
Sit back in the lane, and farm as much as you can. Try to hit some Snare+Soil to Harrass.As soon as you think you can go for the kill (Normally at level 6 and having your opponent in 60% HP):
Get Close to them, even with Flash. Pop your ultimate for slow and the 4 secs counter. They will normally try to run to avoid the stun, this will put your enemys far from their minions so this is when your gonna hit the Snare. (They are slowed so, it shouldnt be so hard.) Snare then pop Tormented Soil. They are probably going to get Stunned on the soil. Auto attack as much as you can. If they survive, try to chase a little and get their last sliver of life with a Soil or Binding.
Pay Attention, After the Soul Shackles They move letting me Land the Snare Easily. Unfortunately, my Tower was low...
Mid Game
Once you got your Mejais, It is time to Stack it up ganking. Ganking With Morgana Shuould be easy. Just Stay in Bush, Land a Q+W and Autoattack while your teammate enjoys his Foe rooted to ground. If he makes it out of the snare alive, you can Ult on him to Slow and Stun. (Or to Last hit :P)Alternatively, you can do the same as i explained in Early game, ULT, Then Q+W. The Ultimate always put a time counter on your foes. They will normally try to escape from your ults Range, giving you space to hit the snare.
Note: Its important to communicate with your teammate, sometimes if the FOE is surrounded by minions you should ask your partner to try to lure him out of minions cover.
Also, you can Push lanes with your team, tring to Harass and Poke while they try to defend. Always save the Snare for the last one retreating, DISRUPT HIS MOVEMENT by rooting the last guy. Normally when you land the snare, the entire team keeps moving leaving his partner a little behind, then your team should kill him before the enemys can even react.
MORGANA´s Range is crucial for this kind of push.
Look Closely, as soon as Stun Arrow Lands, they start retreating, then is when Dark Binding should be popped aiming the last one of them. Notice how his team leave him to die and enjoy =)
Late Game
Pretty much the same that Mid Game, Focus on Teamfights, There you will shine. Your ult is a great advantage in teamfights. The Most important part here is your knowledge of the game, read the situation, identify threats, look for oportunitys for a kill. (Not only yours.)Snare + Soil at this point can take Squishys to 1/3 Hp. Try to force teamfights for your own benefits, remember that your ultimate is a hard threat when used correctly.
Solo Pushing
Also, Morgana is quite a good solo pusher. you just get some wards to keep the jungle on sight, then push a lane by your means. When they come, you will probably escape because of the versatility of your skills, Snare + Flash + Shield + Soul Shackles is almost a guaranteed escape.
Here i managed to get a tower and escape while Sion was chasing me :)
Team Fights
Role:
For teamfights you will have to identify which role you should be playing.
You can be a Support caster.
You can be a Heavy Damage Caster.
You can be an Initiator.
Support Caster
Your job here is to land some snares on champs that might be retreating giving your team an easy kill. Also pop your soil on the other team to lower their MR. Use ult as a late ability giving extra damage, slow and stun. Try to stay safe in the back and pay attention to your teammates so you can save them with your blackshield.
(Shield Nunu, Karthus, Tryndamere, Katarina and Squishys)
Heavy Damage Caster AKA Nuker
Start team fight when your opponent cant see you (A Bush, Behind a Wall). Drop a Q+W+R Combo on their Carry to quickly take him out of battle. (Nuke Him) Then try to survive and play the Safe role of Support Caster for the rest of the teamfight.
Initiator.
Tell your team your gonna initiate, so they save their Dash/Gap Closer Abilitys. Try to surprise the team (Flash or Teleport In, also Bushes can help) Pop Ult and then your shield. Put your finger on the Zhonyas Hourglasses (You need this item to play this role.) As soon as the Black Shield Dissapear, Start spamming Hourglasses. That will give you the 4 Secs Stun. NOW PAY ATTENTION. While they are stunned, dont stay to fight! Go back while you can and Soil + Snare somebody. After that, go back to play the Safe Support Caster Role.
Final Comments
Tips to be a sucesfull Morgana:1. DO NOT BE GREEDY. Snare for your carry. Do not ever Ks.
2. Dont Risk your Stacks. And Always try to assist.
3. Remember to protect your teammates with your shield. Shield the one towerdiving, shield the one channeling, Shield the last one on the run, Shield the one that was targeted by Sion´s Stun.
4. Play with your team to get the most benefit from your champion.

Probably RoA or Haunting Guise, depending on how much money you want to burn :)
But i will still recommend Soulstealer, If the enemy team starts to gank you, just start roaming with your team and pull some ganks, as soon as you have some stacks you should be forcing teamfights in midlane.

Chalice plus Morgs Spellvamp will get you in lane as long as you need to farm the equipment.
But as i said, Chalice is just my choice so it can be replaced with some other items. Catalyst is cool.

honestly i have the same opinion on tear as well as archangel (which while you didn't include it in the items i'd assume you'd finish it, buying an item just for early game mana is insane). On morg, with MP5 runes and the mastery you should not be having that big of a mana problem with either mana crystal or doran ring starting item. farming the archangel to max stacks takes 250 non-overlapped casts, and morg has the longest cooldowns of any mage, and maybe any champ other than renekton
