@ninjaballa, what do you need triforce for if you can just take more Damage? +170% just from his Tiger Stance Active and the 80% attack speed boost with pure Damage will certainly do a lot more than 30 damage and +150% on just one hit. And what would be the point of the slow (if you get Frozen Mallet), movespeed, and ability power on a DPS Udyr.
I really like the kinda different approach on Udyr. Flash is not a bad summoner skill, cause almost all heroes you're trying to gank will have it too. So if he flashes early to avoid your stun you can flash too and hunt him down, if you're confident to kill him. The redbuff(early) and the Frozen Mallet (mid-late) enable you to stick to him even w/o Ghost and Exhaust. As Oddone mentioned in his Trundle and Nunu guide, champions that have an innate ghost or speed up of some kind don't rly need ghost and flash can save your butt in so many situations. :D
Nimbleness is a nice addition, but I would only suggest it, when you build ninja tabi. I probably won't take it ever, because I hate the random component of dodge, but it works pretty well with his passive. Also this is not a all-around-guide, he's just showing the way he plays udyr and he mentions that Triforce is viable, so I don't see a prob there.
Firstly, flash is an unnecessary spell on Udyr because of his early game movespeed. Also, you should be getting Tri-Force no matter what, its essential. You should most DEFINITELY be specing into Smite in the offensive tree. And lastly, you need to give mid and late game information.
Tank Udyr is definitely the way to go. @rocketball, Trinity Force is not a must, as Udyr's damage will mainly come from his abilities, And with 170% Attack Damage ratio on Tiger Stance active, There is pretty much no need for Trinity force, and with the Attack speed boost, Flat Attack Damage becomes much more useful. Udyr will usually have enough movespeed with Bear Stance active and crit isn't very good either.Frozen Hammer is a lot more useful than Trinity because of the assured slow that is also stronger, and the increased Durability, which Udyr will to actually be useful in a fight and do damage.
Also, If you are planning on Being a DPS or fighter/bruiser, I think maxing Turtle stance instead of Pheonix Stance as the Shield can help in more cases to soak damage as, for example, in this guide, you will be using Tiger Stance as you main damage source.I also disagree that Pheonix will do the most damage late game. Pheonix Stance is weaker late game while Tiger just gets stronger. Pheonix scales flat while Tiger is percentage-wise.
