IntroductionHello guys, this is my third guide and since this one is about Ezreal I really want to make people clear that hes not the weak carry hes seen as.
Ezreal was, since release, a strong ranged carry and totally viable.
This is a guide for duolane EZ with a supporter, I play sololane ez a little different but I wont explain it here.
I tested alot with masteries but I came to the conclusion that 21 in offensive is a must after the buff of Havoc, also I feel that the 15% +duration for buffs is very useful since Ezreal can kite very strongly with redbuff and bluebuff.
I choose armorpen marks since they provide the most damage with the rest of my runes throughout the whole game.
Damage Seals to increae my damage more since his Q and R scale with Ad its more useful then other runes.
Then Mp/5 Glyphs to sustain my mana throughout the whole game, some people play with Mp/5 in Seals too but I play a really safe earlygame without much aggresion or skill spamming.
Then I choose 2 Ad quints and 1 Armorpen quint for max damage.
With Dorans blade and Masteries I have +22 damage and 24 armorpen, not bad.
Even though I have my E spell I choose flash to reposition faster or come out of normally unescapeable ganks. It also helps juking with your E alot.
Since Ezreal is mostly known as weak carry you will most likely draw alot of attention on you and especially bruiser will jump on you since youre the carry, therefore I use exhaust to exhaust the bruiser. In the time hes exhausted he will run or you will outdamage him.
Passive: Rising Spell Force
Hitting a target with any of Ezreal's abilities increases his attack speed by 10% for 6 seconds (Max Stacks: 5).
Awesome passive for pushing towers and dealing more damage in teamfights after you shot your ultimate.
Q: Mystic Shot
Ezreal fires a bolt of energy dealing 40 / 65 / 90 / 115 / 140 plus 110% of his attack damage and 20% of his ability power as physical damage (applies on-hit effects).
Ezreal's cooldowns are reduced by 1 second if Mystic Shot hits a target.
/ 35 / 40 / 45 / 50mana
This is the spell which makes Ezreal the carry he is, long poke, high damage, low cooldown and inbuild cooldown reduction. You wont even believe how fast your Blink or Ultimate come out of cooldown if you spam this skill. Also this is the skill which lets you win most poking battles and long dragged fights.
W: Essence Flux
Ezreal fires a wave of energy that damages all enemy champions it passes through for 75 / 125 / 175 / 225 / 275 (+60% of ability power). Affected ally and enemy champions have their attack speed respectively hasted or slowed by 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% for 5 seconds.
Cost 60/70/80/90/100 mana
For me a very optional skill, since its a very big mana drainer. I skill it at level 4 vs Vayne or MF since they rely mostly on autoattacks.
E: Arcane Shift
Ezreal teleports to a target nearby location and fires a homing arrow at the nearest enemy unit dealing 80 / 130 / 180 / 230 / 280 (+75% of ability power) magic damage.
In build flash and high nuke, very usefull to escape ganks, be more mobile, to burst more and for better chase.
R: Trueshot Barrage
Ezreal channels for 1 second to fire a barrage of missiles dealing 350 / 500 / 650 (+90% of ability power and +1 per bonus attack damage) magic damage to each unit it passes through. However, it deals 8% less damage for each unit it hits (Minimum 30%).
Cooldown 80 seconds
Cost 150 mana
Very fun Ultimate which lets you snipe people from distance, nuke half hp from squishys and push faster aswell as stealing buffs, dragons, barons.
Like I said I skill W only in rare cases since its a very big manadrainer early game, rest should be obvious.
Item BuildsHere I will explain my Itembuild further:
For the start I buy since it gives me the most damage and good surviablity, also the 3% lifesteal play off in the long run. Since you have really long range you should rarely take too much damage while farming, therefore you need no heal pots.
First trip back you should get another , and a aswell as some . If you cant fully buy Brutalizer get only 1 or 2 .
Next is and as soon as you can buy it. If you feel threatened by Crowd Control you can get without worrys.
When you have that your next aim is , start of with then buy the rest.
At this point you might feel lacking some Hp, thats why you buy an and aim for next which you complete into asap.
If you encounter big burster like Annie you can go before Trinity. If you do this you have to concentrate on farm very much, else you fall behind in damage later in the game. General rule is: Buy when you feel unsafe and fear getting killed too fast.
Now your next aim is to get since it provides you with more Damage and more armorpen since some enemys should have started to get armor by now :p.
If the game goes on you have free play in getting whichever high damage item you want, generally I would choose between , or another . Whatever you feel the most comfortable with.
Early GamePlay a safe game and concentrate on farming, when they want to go aggresive run a few steps back and attack them with then they will back off and you can go to farm again, if they dont back off you have free harras with your . With level 6 you have an immense brust.Here is how to get an easy kill: Stand in a bottom brush and wait for the enemy carry to farm, then pull off then immediatly next to them and hit them with , this will give you a solid 800 damage burst.
Mid GameStill just play your game, farm and compete in dragon fights or teampushes. Some other guides say that Ezreal starts to fall off in damage in this state of the game but I believe hes just getting more powerful.
Late GameBaron camping, pushing, teamfighting. Those things happen in lategame, most important rule to survive here is to not get caught, since that will give them a free tower or even baron. When pushing towers use to keep your stacks up and buff your team with it.
Team FightsPosition is key, dont stand infront of your bruisers nor stand so far back that you cant even attack them, always stand slightly behind your caster/supports and kill whatever your team sets as focus. If you see the enemy carry out of position jump to him and kill him. Try to not get caught by their ap else you die instantly. Your damage is really high so use it. Use to build up your . Spam as much as you can and debuff their bruiser with . Reposition with or go in for the kill.
Final CommentsI hope you enjoyed this guide since I believe Ezreal is such an underrated carry and hes talked down by everyone. Everyone says "Hes strong early but cant carry lategame", which is completly wrong, with his abilities he has the strength to change the game flow completly and carry a game on his own. For me hes easily in the top tier of carrys and I like him the most to play and I will continue to do so in highlevel play until hes nerfed again <3.
