It sure is different than how I used to play Soraka. I actually like the early aggression by taking Q and E. It also allows you to take golems easier. I'm liking it to be honest, haven't tried it yet though.
MeyeA the support of the compLexity always start with Q and then E with Soraka. But after that he do the normal skill order. He using special runes for Soraka:magic pen marks, armor yellows,mr and mana regen blues, and flat hp quints. I never saw him playing Soraka just saw this on probuilds.net. This runes are really good to zone out the enemy at early levels or how is it worth at any case. My favorite support is Soraka so I am just got interested about this new runes maybe new playstyle. What you think?
Okay, I tried it (refunded Lissandra) and it's actually viable on poke champions like Lulu. You shouldn't take it on initiators like Leona; they prefer health quints instead so you can tank up some more.
When I tried it on Elise and Lulu I noticed you will be able to trade a lot more since you can outsustain them. I never really got in much trouble to go back to base again. You can just regenerate it back. It went a bit difficult though on Elise since you're somewhat an initiator, but it's definitely viable on poke champions.
Doran's Shield works great on poke champions as well together with that Philo stone and HP Regen Quints. It's worth trying out. :)
I think GP10 Quints and Seals will consume a lot of armor, maybe even too much. Armor works best on the seals (+1.41 per rune (+12.69 total)) which will have a big impact early game. You definitely shouldn't do this on squishy champs like Sona because you won't even get to sustaining yourself since you will get poked/burst down too easily.
Maybe it works on tanky champs, but you will be less likely to trade a lot. You could try a cloth armor start though which is in the end needed for Locket of the Iron Solari and Aegis of the Legion. I prefer taking armor on Seals though.
About the Health regen:
I have to say it's a very interesting question you just asked. I've checked the runes and saw this:
Regen per 5 per rune
--- Mark (doesn't have HP regen runes)
.27 per Glyph (2.43 total)
.43 per Seal (3.7 total)
2.7 per Quint (8.1 total)
Quite surprises me that Quintessences have so much health regen. A support has an average of ~5 hp regen per 5 (healers have like 4.5 like Sona, others have about 6). So adding 8.1 hp regen per 5 would add a lot to that. Actually, it's even hp regen more than when you buy a Philosopher's Stone (which gives 7). And that starting at level 1.
I think you will be able to trade a lot and keep on warding mid-late game. It's a very interesting thing to try out once I get the IP to test it out. :)
Also i wonder about the viability of my health regen quints? I haven't played support much in quite some time but i recall in season 2 in some lanes having a couple health regen quints and an early dorans shield opened up options for trading.
Yo, do you think that running both gp10 seals and quints loses you too much lane presence?
pstscrpt: not important but you can update malphite so you don't get HoG mayb e put kindlegem in its place idk +1
You are a player who no doubt has had a wonderful impact on LoL, in game and in the community, ty
I still check the comments. In my opinion Sona is better off getting auras for her team since she is basically made for that. Aegis/Bulkwark is a good one for example.
Mejais will improve her abilities, but she hasn't got good scalings. I mean sure, her Q and R have .8 scaling, but you have to be in the frontline for that. It's risky because you are very squishy. Her heal only has .25 scaling. However, it do is easy to get stacks (press E before the teamfight starts and you've 'assisted' everybody).
I don't think Sona profits from Mejais enough to make it viable on her. In my opinion you should get aura items instead. ;)
