    Hey guys, just letting you know...
    you can fire off a shock blast, and then use acceleration gate while the blast is travelling for a surprise shot. there is no need to use gate first. gate comes up almost immediately while shock blast's missle speed is really slow at first so you can cast gate after you shoot q.

    great guide, though i think frozen heart is way more useful than randuin's since the aura is always there and the CDR and mana allow jayce to have just that little bit more utility in teamfights.

    That's not how Thornmail works.

    If Caitlyn's AD is 100ad and she attacks a target with 100 armor and Thornmail, Caitlyn will take 30 magic damage and her target will take 50 physical damage.

    I myself also would assume that the dual pen way is little bit stronger. Especcially if you are fed you can be a complete gamechanger by building hybrid items. As of those I would say trinity first, when fed fill up with a hextech gunblade if not build straight for guardian angel afterwards the other item, warmorgs, mercs as usual unless there's a special situation as 4-5 ad champs or hyper fed ad carries (though they might already have last whisper and i prefer mercs then to get less cced and have the opportunity to run straight through the enemies fearing their carry away or killing him). After Warmorgs you might build either Atmas, Banshees, Force of Nature (really underrated item and with warmorgs build pretty strong! test it yourself) or even build Thornmail.

    I'm no fan of Thornmail because you get resistance against phys. dmg but throw back incoming physical dmg... you see that you get less phys. dmg (100 armor will be with standard build like 150-180) so you are somewhere about this amount of armor and get something like 60% dmg reduce of physical attacks. when you then have tabbis also auto hit dmg is again reduced. and thornmail will now return 30% dmg of the already reduced dmg so you get even lower dmg returned or did riot ever change it to return 30% of the damage be4 reducing it through armor and other effects? If they did please tell me would be awesome to know but i believe they didnt. so thats where you go with thornmail... low effect BUT the reflected dmg is nearly ALWAYS higher than ad carries lifesteal which makes the item worth sometimes.

    back 2 topic:
    besides hybrid pen marks you could also use this in quints and have 2 different runepages one with lifereg/lvl seals and magic res glyphs when laning against rumble swain and some other evil ap bruiser / caster and another page where you exchange seals with armor and glyphs with cdr or also armor.

    if some mathematic genius who has too much time left reads this he / she might consider to calculate the actual worth of those rune pages over the common ones or even if they arent worth the change.

    i prefer to have a page for every option thats why i say invest in 20 pages its like 125k ip or sth like 35 $/€ i believe. i feel it is an easier laning when you can choose a perfect fitting rune page. thats why i have like 10 pages for different caster styles 7 for ad bruiser or jungler and 2 support pages + 1 champ specialized page i use for testing and calculating.

    I need to get b2topic i believe but i have to excuse for 2 things: my bad english (i hope you can at least understand it) and my constant distraction? from the topic. i like to place some further information into my posts so that they have some sense also for ppl just reading the comments.

    Nevertheless i want to say ty. for your work and keep on updating this guide! I like detailed guides way better than video guides which most of the known "pro players" use to do because its always nice to see someone playing but thats situational and you cant cover everything in a simple game so thats where i feel the advantage of largely text based guides! Thumbs up well done and thank you for your work!

    No, Q has better burst than E since ranking Q increases the base damage of TWO abilities. This is true even if you don't use Acceleration Gate with Shock Blast, and stays true for the entire game (ignoring the point at which you should have both at max rank).

    However, E is far cheaper in terms of mana since Q has scaling mana costs for both modes while E has a static mana cost (also, the cost of two abilities vs. one). And it does magic damage, if you're up against a heavy armor stacking champion (or just someone who has lots of armor).
