Introduction
Master Yi, in my opinion, is one of the best carries in the game, and he is also one of the fastest junglers in the game or the fastest. Though he is very item based, he is still very good. To pretty much sum him, he rocks the opposing team... unless your focused. PWNED. As in my title, he gets crap load of multi-kills. I usually use him as a jungler if our team doesn't have one. I never lane with him, but I do go mid when I'm AP.
Masteries
For masteries I usually go for 21/0/9. The reason why I don't go for 20/0/10 is because I usually kill their other jungler, and steal their buff, or I counter jungle very carefully. The rest is pretty self-explanatory.
Runes
My rune is based on pure jungling, and I find it great for Udyr as well. The health Quints are extremely essential to me. The attack speed is just so I can clear the jungle faster. My marks are quite self-explanatory for an A/D person.
Summoner Spells
![summoners/ghost.png [summoners/ghost.png]](guide/summoners/ghost.png)
![summoners/smite.png [summoners/smite.png]](guide/summoners/smite.png)
Explanation:
Smite is an obvious thing for a weak starting jungler.
Ghost and your ulti combined= Best chase or best getaway.
In early ganks around level 3-5, I usually ghost and gank. Ghost is by far one of the greatest summoner spells to exist.
Skills
Passive: Double StrikeMaster Yi strikes twice every 7th attack.
Explanation:
This is a great add-on to his damage output, especially when you get more attack speed later on.
Q: Alpha StrikeMaster Yi leaps across the battlefield striking up to 4 enemies, dealing 100 / 150 / 200 / 250 / 300 (+100% of ability power) magic damage to each enemy with a 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60% chance to deal 400 bonus magic damage to minions.
Cooldown 18seconds
Cost 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 / 120mana
Range 600
Explanation:
GREAT CHASING TOOL. Though it is mana costy, you have your blue buff to save your mana. I max this first even when I'm A/D, b/c if they barely make it out of your auto-attacks, and they have little health, it will finish them off. That's why if you maxed Wuju, you alpha might not be strong enough to kill them. This skill also makes you invulnerable for like 1 sec, so that the enemy cannot see nor attack you.
W: MeditateMaster Yi channels, restoring 140 / 280 / 420 / 560 / 700 (+165% of ability power) health over 5 seconds. While channeling, Master Yi gains 100 / 150 / 200 / 250 / 300 armor and magic resistance.
Cooldown 45seconds
Cost 70 / 85 / 100 / 115 / 130mana
Range 20
Explanation:
This my friends is the one of the sickest healing moves. If you use this correctly you can deny someone from killing you. I also use this skill in the jungle as well. If their is fiddle trying to drain you, use medidtate while he is draining, no effect on both champs. :P
E: Wuju StylePassive: Increases physical damage by 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35.
Active: Master Yi can activate this ability to double its effectiveness for 10 seconds, but this removes the passive bonus until Wuju Style becomes available again.
Cooldown 30seconds
Cost 40mana
Range 20
Explanation:
Great addition to add to your attack, use it to take down turrets faster. :D
R: HighlanderIncreases Master Yi's movement speed by 40% and Attack Speed by 40 / 60 / 80%, and he becomes immune to all slowing effects for 6 / 9 / 12 seconds. Additionally, killing a champion refreshes all of Master Yi's cooldowns. (Assists reduce half of the base cooldown amount.)
Cooldown 75seconds
Cost 120mana
Range 1
Explanation:
This skill is by far the sexiest skills in the game. It's great for anything. For example, great runaway, great for taking out turrets faster, great for chasing, and great for 1v1 b/c it adds some extra attack speed. I usually only use it on turrets when people are around me b/c if I get ganked then I can't runaway. I mainly use this to chase or 1v1 someone.
Skill Order
I tend to MAX Alpha strike first b/c I find it much for useful to finish off enemies early game. I then MAX Wuju Style b/c it adds extra damage for me to kill. I MAX Meditate last b/c it becomes much more useful late game then early game. Plus the skills I get early game is to assure me kills, so that I can get fed and more successful ganks.
Counter Jungling
I really recommend having a teammate with Clairvoyance b/c it helps you know where the other opposing jungler is. You also need to be smart and place wards at their buff or entrance of their jungle, just in case they try to steal your buff, you go still theirs. If your teammates are douches and decide not to take CV, make sure you place wards very carefully and correctly. You also need to PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE LANE. Pretty much to be successful, you need to know where your enemy is. Do NOT randomly guess they are here and you get killed. Make sure you know their position. Last advice: DONT BE GREEDY OR STUPID. To many routes to explain. I just recommend only doing this with a full page of runes.
Jungling
This is usually if I don't counter jungle. There are so many routes to take. I shall name you some.
To start jungling make sure teammates watch your jungle.
Then when small golems spawn... alpha strike, smite one, pop a potion, and commence autoattack on the one you smited.
-Small golems, Lizard, Wraiths, then looking for gank, if not, Mana golem, Wolves, and recall.
-Small golems, Wraiths, Wolves, recall, Mana golem, Lizard, looks for gank, Wraiths, and small golem.
IF ganked and need to transition (must have runes)
-Mana golem, wolves, Wraiths, Lizard, small golem, and recall.
There are so many routes to take. :)
I can't really explain them all. It all really depends on the situation in game.
But those are the general routes you should take.
Team Fights
RULE #1: NEVER ENGAGE.RULE #2: Pick off their major carries.
RULE #3: Have fun getting Pentas :)
Team fights
You don't want to be the last one to engage nor be the first, just engage when your tank does. Do NOT ever engage by yourself. You need to focus their carries as they will be focusing you most likely. Pick them off quickly. Engage from the back if needed. If you are low after a team fight and there are still enemies. Go to a brush, and meditate. If they are stupid and still stay around go auto-attack and get your ace and push. It is very essential that you focus carries and not tank. Otherwise you are useless.
Roaming/Warding
Roaming
As you roam and look for ganks, and if you come upon a fellow enemy, just 1v1 and kill them. Do NOT be afraid of them and run. Just pick alpha strike and commence your auto attack for kill. Make sure you are noticing your mini-map just in case he brings his whole crew with him to rape you. BE BRAVE MAN! You also must know not to roam to long, as you need exp to level. When I jungle, I usually keep on PAR with mid b/c of how fast Yi is. Also when ganking, do NOT stay in brush so long that you are stealing your teammates exp and wasting your time and losing out on YOUR OWN exp.
Warding
You need to ward. ITS A MUST. It's great item to invest in as it will help you get kills and help your teammates know where the enemy is. It's also a key essential to have in counter-jungling. AND it's only 75 Gold, like seriously.... it's a great item/consumable. Great warding spots are entrance of jungles, their buffs, your buffs, river, and dragon or baron.

Oh sorry, I totally forgot to type about getting lucky with Alpha strike. Well to answer your question you need to get quite lucky with the 2 golem and kill both without smite. Then you can kill Lizard.
