Introduction
This guide will not be as indepth as zakkers amazing rumble guide, but here's just some of my views on him just to add on or to reassure that zakkers is correct.

[champ/rumble.png] is a really fun champ and is great during the lane and team fight phase. But he is also really hard to cs with. His [skills/rumble/r.png] can be great for those baron fights or for catching people in the jungle or in tight places.[champ/rumble.png] has tons of AoE and his [skills/rumble/w.png] can be gamebreaking. You can play this guy top mid/support and in the jungle.

STATS

Damage 55.66 (+3.2 / per level)
Health 450 (+80 / per level)
Mana 100 (+0 / per level)
Move Speed 320
Armor 16 (+3.5 / per level)
Spell Block 30 (+1.25 / per level)
Health Regen 7 (+0.6 / per level)
Mana Regen 0 (+0 / per level)
Masteries
21/9 always unless you're 1v2 then you go 9/21.

it's usually better to always go offensive though with your kit, it's the most efficient because you're always laying down massive aoe damage and the more you hit the better, the higher your damage the better.

If you can survive 1v2 lane or rough lanes with just W and have 21/9 it is totally worth it, just grab 1 health regen quint, the 5 ap won't kill you but the health regen will definitely save you in the long run.

REDS: The magic pen goes well with your masteries and overall item build.

YELLOWS: You do damage but you're not glass canon. Get armor.

BLUES: You need MR especially if you're up against a hybrid champ, etc. This'll also help out for mid game team fights.

QUINTS: People underestimate how much AoE damage he does at early levels. Get these for tons of damage.

This is my default AP page, you can replace MR with ap per level, and magic pen with hybrid pen if you trade melee hits a lot which you shouldn't.

You can also go pure magic pen which I don't recommend, but it's good for late game.
Summoner Spells
[summoners/flash.png]: riot pls nerf flash

[summoners/ignite.png]: core summoner on rumble, you will get so many kills with ignite.

[summoners/exhaust.png]: You can use this instead of [summoners/ignite.png] if there are a lot of auto attack heavy champs. or if you're vs kayle.

[summoners/heal.png]: if you wanna be an asshole with ignite/heal in lane silsol style.

[summoners/smite.png]: only if you're jungling.

[summoners/surge.png]: they took this out of the game but back then it was hilarious when you overheated.

[summoners/teleport.png]: I hate teleport on rumble because you miss out on bullying your lane but the saying goes win other lanes win game.

Skills
[skills/rumble/p.png] Passive: Junkyard Titan

Rumble's abilities don't cost anything but generate 20 heat. When Rumble reaches 50 heat, he is in the "Danger Zone", causing all his basic spells to have additional effects. When Rumble reaches 100 heat he overheats, silencing himself for 6 seconds to cooldown completely and causing his physical attacks to deal an additional 20 + (5 x level) + (0.35 per ability power) magic damage for the duration. While not overheated, after 4 seconds of not using his basic abilities he will start losing heat at a rate of 5 every half second, and 2.5 seconds later at a rate of 10 every half second.

Explanation:

Even with the silence this is still a really strong passive. It can be very easily misused though. Right before you overheat you can pop your [skills/rumble/q.png] and you'll be doing a good amount of damage with your autos.

[skills/rumble/q.png] Q: Flamespitter

Rumble begins torching the area in front of him with his flamethrower, dealing 30/60/90/120/150 (+45% of ability power) magic damage per second to all units in a cone in front of him for 3 seconds. He can move, attack and use other abilities while the flamethrower is on.

While in the "Danger Zone", this spell deals 30% additional damage.

Cooldown 6 seconds

Explanation:

your main sustained CC, careful with choosing this when overheating, the CC might be more useful from your E.

[skills/rumble/w.png] W: Scrap Shield

Rumble creates a shield blocking 50 / 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 (+40% of ability power) incoming damage for 2 seconds, in addition Rumble receives a 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30% movement speed boost for 1 second.

While in the "Danger Zone", the shield's strength and movement speed boost are increased by 30%.

Cooldown 6 seconds

Explanation:

spam this shit when you can but don't overheat with it or you're missing out on potential sustained dps or kills.

[skills/rumble/e.png] E: Electro-Harpoon

Rumble shoots a taser that deals 55 / 85 / 115 / 145 / 175 (+50% of ability power) magic damage and applies a 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35% slow on the enemy hit for three seconds. A second shot can be fired for no additional cost within the next three seconds. The slows from these two tasers can stack with themselves and the duration will be refreshed with the second hit.

While in the "Danger Zone", the damage and slow percentage are increased by 30%.

Cooldown 10 seconds

Explanation:

poke/kite/cs/ most annoying spell to chase rumble with, most convenient spell for catching.

[skills/rumble/r.png] R: The Equalizer

Rumble calls down a line of rockets over the target linear location, it uses click and drag targeting. The rockets deal an initial 150 / 225 / 350 (+50% of ability power) magic damage to all enemies hit on arrival, and also leave a trail of destruction for 5 seconds that slows by 35% and deals 100/140/180 (+20% of ability power) magic damage per second to all enemies standing on the area.

This ability does not generate heat.

Cooldown 105/90/75 seconds

Explanation:

here's a decent explaination

This is a really powerful ult and can be used in a variety of ways. The short CD, DoT, and slow just make [skills/rumble/r.png] awesome.

HOW TO ULT 101

#1: You can use it to initiate if your team wants to start a fight while they are pushing your tower or you are pushing their tower. Try to land the ulti on as many people as possible.

also if you hit 5 then your job here is pretty much done, just sit back and spam your abilities.

#2: SNIPE ALL THE THINGS. If the enemy is low HP you can aim it in the general direction they ran off to and score a free kill.

or you can whiff it like a retard and be laughed at by your team.

#3: You can steal neutral camps with this ulti. Yeah, you can even steal baron and dragon, but that's really hard to do. If you can do it safely, however, you might as well try.

#4: Ulting in the jungle or in bushes (think small spaces) can give you the advantage. It makes it really hard for the enemy to get away without using [summoners/flash.png], etc.

Skill Order
[http://i.imgur.com/Y3v9J.jpg]

  • Get [skills/rumble/e.png] at level 1 for the damage, slow, and kiting potential.
  • Take a couple levels in [skills/rumble/q.png]. The damage is pretty strong even at this level.
  • Grab your [skills/rumble/w.png] at around 4.
  • Prioritize your [skills/rumble/q.png].
  • Level your [skills/rumble/r.png] when you can.

VS HARD LANES

start with W, get lvl 2 W if you're getting annihilated. max Q then E.
Item Builds
STARTING ITEMS

Against most lanes/AP: boots-of-speed health-potion3 or health-potion4 OR [items/health-potion5.png][items/health-potion4.png][items/sight-ward2.png]

Against ADs: cloth-armor health-potion5 -> arm guard-> zhonyas (late game)

boots are really weak this season, if your matchup is easy then consider getting them for the sake upgrading to sorc shoes early.

MOVEMENT IS IMPORTANT ON RUMBLE

AD Heavy: ninja-tabi
AP/CC Heavy: mercurys-treads
No Threat: sorcerers-shoes (Standard)

Boots are situational and it's up to you to know what boots you need to by. In most cases [items/sorcerers-shoes.png] are fine 90% of the time since it scales with your Q and ult very well even if you aren't tanky. you always have your shield.

CORE ITEMS

[items/liandrys-torment.png] (build haunting and keep it until after rylais), everything about rumble makes this item so dumb to deal with, it does so much damage when combined with rabadons, then it's even more annoying when combined with a slow and a giant aoe ult with more slow from rylais.

[items/rylais-crystal-scepter.png] tank + slow #1 kit item for rumble

SITUATIONAL ITEMS

rabadons-deathcap just adds on to the massive damage, but you don't get this until you have a decent amount of ap from your core.

zhonyas-hourglass: if you have leftover cloth armor and if the enemy has some big zhonya worthy ults, or if enemy has a lot of AD.

guardian-angel: last item only, allows you to recycle your cool downs = more shields.

[items/abyssal-scepter.png] doesn't work to well with your ult if you're standing to far away, but not a bad choice vs AP.

[items/warmogs-armor.png] #1 annoying meta golem item.

will-of-the-ancients if you have a lot of AP's then go for it, sustain, and ap for everyone.
Early Game
HOW TO NOT DIE

  • Play passively. You're not that strong until you hit 4-6
  • Focus on farming. You shouldn't really be getting up close and personal at this point until 6.
  • Farm by using [skills/rumble/e.png][skills/rumble/q.png], don't use flame spitter on mass mobs to ruin your last hitting.
  • If the enemy runs into that combo and takes some damage good, don't force shove because you got no escapes unless you aim to kill around lvl 3,4 with overheat.
Late Game
You are now in the home stretch of your game

don't get caught.

land your ult in team fights.

don't overheat and not use your ult.

don't initiate unless you get a 5 man ult.

poke.

Liandry's is trash. It LOOKS good, but if you apply it every 0.5 seconds (See rumble Q, rumble R) it reapplies before you do damage. This means if you keep your opponent in your Q for 3 seconds, the first three seconds Liandry's' (Double possessive is a grammatical nightmare)passive do nothing, then AFTER Q ends they will burn for 3 seconds. I made a thread with experimental data, you might edit your guide if this information changes your build at all.

Liandry's doesn't work with DoTs. Multiple experiements and other ancedotal evidence supports this find. To read more:

Guide's a bit of a mess, to be frank. Skill order at beginning and in the middle of guide say different things. So do runes, topside it's scaling AP, in the middle of the guide You recommend flat MR. You mention jungle and support rumble, but don't elaborate at all. No insights to farming, matchups or, well, anything, really. 'bout the only thing I've read here that was somewhat new and potentially useful is the Helath regen Quint. The videos, on the other hand, were very appretiated (even though, all things considered, I'd rather see vids of difficult lanes and non-fed games. There's just so little to learn from watching someone roflstomp).

I... kinda expected a bit more there. Not a 5-part-epos like Zakk's, sure, but, You know... at least something?

@HimeChan once you learn Rumble's attack animations well you shouldn't need butcher. Definitely play with switching the points around until you find what's comfortable for you though.
