I wouldn't recommend this mastery and item build set up with the current stack hp meta, once mid late game hits you'll become very squishy and possibly get focused down way to fast as of late all junglers become massive hp raid bosses. Going 21 in offense whilst building hp/tanky will have you more successful times to live through focused damage and what not. CDr also comes very handy and always carry wards with you.
Well I go all the way to 21/9/0 in offence sometimes as jax not often most of the time I go 15/15/0 getting double penetration. CDR is better than Ats in first teir because one stack of Jax's passive is 4% ats... so unless cdr is useless on your champ you should always go with the CDR. Buff duration and 2%ms are not as useful as a lot more damage and stats for Jax since he has Leap. Please update for season 3 Boots 3 pots are no longer a good jungle start.
When it comes to jungle masteries I'm no expert, if someone wants to help me out with that section then add me ingame, na server, same name as on here.
I went 9/21 because it gives a decent boost to offense and makes you significantly tanky. Which are the main things you want with jax.
" 9/21/0 is meh especially for jungle Jax. You need as much MS as possible and the jungle buff duration extension is amazing. 0/21/9 or my weird jungle build on my guide is more optimal.
"
9-21-0 gives you movespeed aswell but i think 9-12-9 is optimal.
@O0Myron0O "200 from smite range", this doesn't mean 200 health left, it's usually around 1k health. Bit of a hard target to hit, but sometimes you just need to go hero mode.
30% lifesteal during a point where there is a lack of end game armor items makes you VERY difficult to deal with, I just tried a few game, 3 with skipping wirggle's and 3 without.
Games that I skipped it I noticed bruisers were having a much easier time dealing with me due to less armor and less lifesteal, this also made it a lot more difficult for me to solo dragon, causing me to have to call bot and mid to help with it, in a team game there wouldn't be a problem, but if you're solo queueing then you're putting a lot of trust in people you know nothing about.
In the games with I noticed we had much better dragon control, the free ward also helps you escape if you get caught without any other wards, I usually place the wriggle's ward last because of this, meaning less gold to the enemy. Also much faster clears meaning more lane presence, more counterjungling opportunities and less risk when doing so. Also speeds up pushing creep waves so once mid game starts you cause minion pushes and clear theirs much quicker, this means you have less time away from the team or can get your creeps to their towers quicker meaning it's more risky for them to apply pressure on you.
Wriggle's just offers too much for only 1600 gold to not get, I have also tried just going triforce, but the current system (although riot are fixing it) is about whoever can burst the opponent down quickest, with people like darius, jayce and evelynn, and gunblade adds so much to Jax's burst that he can keep up with people like these, yes that did include the prenerf evelynn.
Now, I believe Jax is much better as a top lane, but IF you get a tank style top laner then taking Jax into the jungle is a great idea, your job in the jungle as jax is to apply pressure to lanes, and this guide lets you do that as much as possible so that you can make good use of your aoe stun, high burst potential and good mobility, if you're stuck clearing jungle creeps with a phage then your not helping your team much.
(jax's ult does 100 damage every 3 hits, wriggle's does 425 on an average of 5, there's a massive difference.)
Why would you get 2x lifesteal items as a mid game goal? if you go wriggles then you might as well just go triforce and forego gunblade or sell wriggles for gunblade later on.
