I had never played orianna before. Now I play her in EVERY SINGLE ranked game. it's just crazy how easy it is. Just wait for the enemy team to walk over the ball, ult, w and they're instantly all at a quarter health. It's crazy. Thank you for finally giving me the way to the upper tiers of LoL!!!!!! :D
this is one amazing guide :) been playing orianna on and off, but now i finally decided to play her for sure and this guide is helping me tons XD played 4 games recently and had 4 victories, thanks for the awesome guide
Detailed, but 9/0/21 should be worth a mention. I would agree that, in most cases when playing soloqueue, you'll want to deal the most damage possible, so 21 offense might be better, but 21 utility is very powerful on Ori as well, who relies heavily on cooldowns and levels to do what she does best: deal sustained damage and shit out utility all over the screen. I personally think it's the best mastery setup for her all around for me, but I'm in no way saying it's the best for everyone one and especially not for every situation. All I'm saying is that it's worth mentioning.
Props on the guide man, its one of the best i have seen. I mained top for awhile and just recently switched to mid, and I find that magic pen quints and marks with flat ap glyphs work rly well with high dmg ap champs. This gives you 14 magic pen plus 8% at lvl 1,after getting magic pen items you can have it at 48% plus 44, so if they had 100 magic armor now they only have 8 :) and i have looked into it and found that you can reduce armor or magic armor below zero and do boosted dmg so when hitting the adc for example who rarely gets any magic armor you will be doing more then true dmg
Thanks for the responses guys, in the next few months I won't be able to play as much as I used to cuz of work and school, but I will look into these issues and upgrade the guide as soon as I can.
Until then: GLHF with Orianna! :)
Ps @ everyone: Thanks for everyone who cared to give me some kind words and stuff i really appreciate it! :)
good job on the guide. Could you put the champion names as text into the lane/matchup section? This way we can ctrl+f our opponent name and don't have to scroll wildly scanning pictures :p.
Keep it up, especially the matchup section is nice and can be even nicer if you put some more tipps :).
Love the guide. I picked up Ori yesterday and have been following this guide to a T. Had a mirror matchup as my third game and got first blood hue.
Could you put some specifics on zoning with her? Like where is a good place to leave the ball and whatnot. Picures and video would help a lot. The range of her Q feels short to define her as a "long range" champion, but I've had instances where I placed the ball near their side of lane, let them push, and then whacked them with the ball by lining up where I move it to (closer to me) correctly.
Great guide,i am finally be able to play ori, cause shes very ping dependent champ,i have now an acount in EU.I was in NA server and my ping was about 220..all my skill shots where about 1 second delayed,i couldnt play her in her full potential.I am having some troubles with Lux match-up cause of her long range
Aye, great guide you wrote there, I myself am a diamond 2 mid lane main, well, i only play orianna and fizz :D. I appereciate in your guide that you actually noted the W maxing path, as I enjoy it loads more than the Q everyone seems to be doing, i mean, it gives you absolutely enormous utility, with leblanclike burst capability.. But one thing you should note there, its about Fizz, you should mention that a good Fizz will all-in you lvl 2 or 3, and the odds are, if you let him do it, you die.. I mean when I play Fizz, i start fortpot + 4 hpots + ward, and always end up with a first blood when going lvl 2 all in with the fort pot, people just wont expect it, since everyone seems to underrate his early dmg..
And with the orianna failures; I picked her off at start of s2, and played her for TWO months, before realizing her auto's scale with AP.. ignorance eh? (i cant even count how many kills i lost just because i was like "autos on a caster - not worth it")
