ITEM BUILD>
You probably will start with boots-of-speedhealth-potion3 after that you're going for two dorans-blade.
If u have them try to get as fast as you can mercurys-treads and bf-sword (maybe you will go for vampiric-scepter before bf-sword if you need the sustain in midlane)
After u got your the-bloodthirster try to get last-whisper or if you need the slow and the HP go for phage.
If you have both last-whisper and phage build your phage into a trinity-force.
Now you have the most of your damage and you need a little bit of tankyness just to not get focused as easy as it would be without your guardian-angel.
Finally you buy a maw-of-malmortius.
Introduction
Jayce is a bruiser who switches between ranged and meele form, he mostly deals physical dmg but [skills/jayce/e.png] deals magic damage based on a percentage of the targets maximum health.
He has a great poking potential which is reasoned by his [skills/jayce/q.png] and [skills/jayce/e.png] combo in ranged form.
Why Jayce mid?
After I've seen Froggen's Lee Sin mid play i thought why dont play Jayce mid?
Jayce has a ranged form which allows him to farm easy against all standard midlaners without getting harrassed that much.
Also he able to clear a minion wave very fast so he can push a lot which allows him to prevent the most midlaners from roaming without losing theire towers.
In addition of that he easily wins the most midlane match
Masteries
I like to go standard 21/9 Masteries with armor- and magicpen because he deals both, magic and physical dmg.
The 9 Points in the defence masteries are enough for the midlane and with your runes u got enough magic resistance to sustain yourself during the laning phase.
Because you're poking a lot in the midlane the mastery point "Executioner" is very useful -> Your enemy will be a lot of the time under 40% of his health.
These are only runes to play him midlane.
I normally go for pure AD and MR as shown in the guide, but u can switch the Quints and the Seals with what u want.. against some matchups i run Movementspeed instead of the AD Quints.
Summoner Spells

Explanation:Well.. i dont think flash ignite in midlane needs much of an explanation. :3

Skills
[skills/jayce/p.png] Passive: Hextech Capacitor

Jayce gains 40 movement speed for 1.25 seconds and ignores unit collision each time Transform is cast.

Explanation: Your passive is kinda nice to escape or chase. Nothing more to say here!






[skills/jayce/q.png] Q: To the Skies! / Shock Blast

- To the Skies!

Jayce leaps to an enemy, dealing physical damage to his target and to enemies in the area, slowing them for 2 seconds.


- Shock Blast

Fires an orb of electricity that detonates upon hitting an enemy or reaching the end of its path, dealing physical damage to all enemies in the area of the explosion.

If Shock Blast is fired through an Acceleration Gate, the area of effect, missile speed and range will be increased, and its damage will increase by 40%.


Explanation: (Canon-Form) This is your main poking tool in combination with [skills/jayce/e.png]






[skills/jayce/w.png] W: Lightning Field / Hyper Charge

- Lightning Field

(Passive): Jayce regenerates mana each time he strikes an enemy while in Hammer Stance.
(Active): Creates an electric aura, dealing magic damage over 4 seconds to nearby enemies.


- Hyper Charge

(Active): Jayce gains a burst of energy, increasing his attack speed to maximum for 3 attacks. These attacks deal varied damage depending on rank.


Explanation: Kinda useful to restore mana.. but not that great of a deal






[skills/jayce/e.png] E: Thundering Blow / Acceleration Gate

- Thundering Blow

Deals magic damage equal to a base amount plus a percentage of the target's maximum health, knocking the target back a short distance. This damage is capped against monsters.


- Acceleration Gate

Deploys an Acceleration Gate for 4 seconds, increasing the movement speed of all allies who pass through it for 3 seconds. This bonus fades over the duration.


Explanation: (Hammer-Form)Combined with your [skills/jayce/q.png] it deals tons of dmg and it can be used to kick enemys right into your team.






[skills/jayce/r.png] R: Transform: Mercury Cannon / Transform: Mercury Hammer

- Transform: Mercury Cannon

Transforms the Mercury Hammer into the Mercury Cannon, gaining new abilities and ranged attacks.
The next attack in Cannon Stance reduces the enemy's armor and magic resist for 5 seconds.


- Transform: Mercury Hammer

Transforms the Mercury Cannon into the Mercury Hammer, gaining new abilities and bonus armor and magic resist.
The next attack in Hammer Stance deals additional magic damage.


Explanation: You just have to learn to master the switching between ranged and meele form. This will take its time.






Early Game
As Jayce you will try to poke the most midlaners out of theire lanes.
You will stay most of the time in Canon-Form harrassing with your [skills/jayce/q.png]+[skills/jayce/e.png] and just switching into Hammer-Form if a kill is in sight.
Mid Game
Here you have 2 options.

1.) You can start roaming like every other midlaner. Your roam is quit strong u got a slow, lot of poke and finishing off tools. Also u have a gap closer and a knock back.

2.) You can prevent the other midlaner from roaming by simply pushing all the time and take his tower as soon as he leaves the lane, u can push very fast because of you [skills/jayce/w.png] and your passive in Hammer-Form which is a bit of extra damage.
Team Fights
In Teamfights your positioning is very important.
You have to see they right moment to jump into the enemies (When your tank has iniciated)
If you dont see a possibility to jump into the enemy team try to poke them with your [skills/jayce/q.png][skills/jayce/e.png] in Canon-Form the poke damage of this combination is really high.
