Yet again you do not know Sona. Her spells do not reset her Autos, they make the missile speed faster. Which has no effect on the actual attack speed. She will trade at equal speed with Lulu because the interval between the missile speed and ability to reset will be longer than normal. Please stop commenting, like i said you are making yourself look incredibly dumb.

Sona defensive against Leona? Lol no. Sona KITES Leona and basically can't be killed unless she positions horribly, given Leona has no recovery options against harass outside of consumables.

If it takes 5 whole seconds to kill something, it means they almost certainly could have lived with better positioning. Free resistances aren't just for defense. The video you sent me actually proves that Sona tanked the burst perfectly fine, and if she wasn't just making really bad choices, would have easily had options to survive. She just got caught horribly out of position, and this is why Blitzcrank is actually a counter to Sona, because of his ability to actually pull her out of position which is far more significant in guaranteeing a kill rather than what raw damage he might have.

On the topic of Lulu, you completely disregarded that Sona has an autoattack reset, and Lulu does not. Sona is landing more autoattacks on Lulu unless Lulu spends mana on Polymorph. Lulu's mana pool is also not as strong as Sona's, and she doesn't have Sona's mana efficient sustain with which to recover from trades either.

If you play defensive as Sona against a Leona, you've already let her win. You've let Leona pressure you into giving her AD the ability to free-farm since you're playing incredibly defensive.

Also, just to point it out further. That sona did what you suggested, she was Maxing W. and yet, WHEN she got caught which is what happens against a Leona, she died instantly regardless of the armor buff. The whole arguement here was that if Sona gets caught by Leona, she can't tank Leona's burst if she maxes W. Which was shown countless times in that video, regardless of her doing what you recommended. Solvanas's point was that IF you get caught by Leona in lane as Sona, you're basically fucked. Which is why its a hard match-up. Please stop commenting on this like you know what you're doing because you are honestly making yourself look stupid. I can ask any high elo support what will happen if you get caught by Leona as Sona, and they will reply that Sona cannot tank a Leona all-in. If you play extremely defensive to the point where you never are in distance of getting caught at Leona at all in Lane, which is a 700 range pre-6 and then a WHOPPING 1.2k Range post-6, you have let the Leona essentially bully you into playing so defensive in lane that her AD gets free farm and will win lane due to your AD being pressure from you having no presence.

Honestly, any high elo support would know this and please stop commenting and actually go play support at a high tier before you come to a guide and act as if you know everything about Sona. When in reality you are 1300 elo like a lot of people that read guides since they want to learn. It just comes off as annoying, and makes yourself look stupid compared to anyone who knows how to play support at a high tier.

Leona easily loses to Sona two ways. Sona either crushes her before she hits level 2, or she simply just becomes an unkillable wall that kites her to death. Sona has a ranged autoattack and a heal that grants free resistances that is only on a 7 second cooldown. Leona literally cannot kill a properly positioned Sona.

And I've done this in ranked games. I will literally just max W and focus on autoattacking constantly, and it wins lanes against a lot of melee supports. Yes, even factoring a full burst combo and what AD carry Leona is running, she struggles to actually kill Sona if she's maxing W. She needs a jungle gank for it to be reliable.

And honestly, Sona survived for like...no less than 5 seconds in that video. That's not nearly fast enough to kill a defensively oriented Sona with better positioning. If anything, the video you sent me confirms that Sona in actual practice is tanky enough to survive Leona's burst. Any support caught that badly out of position for five whole seconds would die simply due to the ridiculous positional advantage that was established there.

But, I'm sure a decently high elo Sona was pretty dumb and thats the reason she couldn't tank the lvl 5 leona burst once she got caught. I wonder what would of happened if Krepo was 6....Oh Wait 11:20. But then again, I'm sure that Sona didn't know how to properly play against a Leona... /sarcasm

All i have to say is. Go into a ranked game right now. Max W in lane and try to harass her, which you wont be able to because your Q harass will suck so much then. At lvl 6, get hit by a leona ult and then see if you survive the follow-up burst that comes from Leona Ult -> Zenith Blade -> Stun. Followed by all of the AD's burst. It's really cringe-worthy seeing you say that a Sona can tank a Leona's all-in at 6.

Considering Lulu harasses from the brush, there will be no minions to interrupt her. Also, no power chords do not do more damage than anything Lulu does. If lulu E + Q's you, WHICH YOU WILL BE IN RANGE FOR IF YOU TRY TO Q + POWERCHORD HER, she will trade more damage. You will ALSO be susceptible for counter auto-harass from Lulu since you are slowed from Q and you WILL take 2-3 full auto attacks from her.

Honestly from looking at your guide and your in-game profile i hate to say this but, stop playing normals with low elo. You face no1 that knows how to all-in correctly as a support. Me and Solvanas played at Diamond elo in season 2 as support, and now at 2k range at the moment and we face good supports that are smart enough to abuse Sona. We KNOW her weakpoints, and we know how to beat a Sona. Saying a Leona + Taric can't instagib a Sona at 6 with their All-Ins which are very potent at 6, just proves my point further of what i have stated above. In-fact go play Leona against a Sona, and just Ult her at 6 + Dash combo her while your AD is blowing his spells + autos on her, while she is locked down. I will GUARANTEE you that the Sona will die, regardless of maxing W.

Actually, Sona can in fact outright tank Leona and Taric burst combos at level 6. Very easily in fact if you are maxing W. That is a hard fact. Sona is only a squishy support when specifically maxing Q. I've easily survived full burst from lanes like Taric/Leona Graves and other stupid kill lanes simply because Sona actually gets really tanky when you max W first.

Secondly, Power Chords do more damage than anything Lulu does. Furthermore Sona has better sustain than Lulu, which is important in trades. Also, Lulu needs to not be interrupted by minions in order for her passive autoattack damage to take effect.

Mana runes are nice, but Sona doesn't need them. Sona technically doesn't need mana pots either, but you completely misunderstood the point of them. The point of mana pots is the fact that Sona's spells are so mana efficient that you can press an advantage during the laning phase with them really easily.

Alright first of all... a Sona can never "outright tank Leona and Taric" their level 6 is way too powerful in combination with most ADs for Sona to handle, that is just a hard fact. You will never be able to tank a Leona Varus at 6, Leona Graves at 6, Leona Twitch at 6, Leona Corki at 6, Leona Ez at 6, or a Leona Draven in general. Leona will shit on Sona if you get caught, and that's what Leona generally does at 6 to all non-tanky supports. So no, you cannot outright tank a Leona no matter your runepage, because it is Sona with her base stats. Also "Sona also has the strongest autoattack trades of all supports, being both ranged".... Do you main support? LULU has the best auto attack trades of all supports. She is one of the best supports to go up against a Sona to trade with her, since you can only try to Powerchord her, and if she E + Q's you, youre going to tank 2-3 autos and get even more chunked. "Also, you should consider using more mana potions over health potions on Sona. " You will never need mana pots if you run mana runes, which are more cost efficient for trading, as well as you don't lose much in return.

It's not so much Sona needs mana potions to cover for mana issues, it's just that mana potions happen to be extremely cost efficient on Sona. That's why I brought them up here. Managing mana on Sona is easy. It just so happens she has very high inherent mana efficiency in her skillset, which means you can often press advantage further during the laning phase with a mana potion.

And while I do agree that a skilled Sona can get away with fewer tank stats earlygame, it's merely an option that I feel makes playing Sona easier. I would almost suggest MS quints, except I don't think most Sona players, myself included, are mechanically consistent enough to abuse them. Regardless, Sona's transition into teamfights is extremely forgiving given her general skillset amplifies any team pretty well. Pure tank runes make you less likely to feed under worst case scenarios earlygame, and Sona really only just needs some levels and basically 3 items to be one of the stronger teamfight oriented supports in this game.

I used to be really into gold runes before, but changes in S3 like the addition of Sightstone and Pickpocket as well as universally increased ambient gold make me feel Sona can be played much more aggressively with very little cost to what she contributes to a team later in the game.
