thresh is a very very difficult lane for sona, I main sona, thresh way out ranges sona, and that pull in means death almost every time, imo never go sona against a thresh

I've never seen a support Kayle before, I'll have to look into it before putting it on my guide.

I find as long as in lane if you don't go too crazy the mana isn't a huge issue, especially with a philo. I find where she uses most of her mana is during teamfights where you're basically rolling your face across the keyboard to constantly switch your buffs. By level 7 you should have no problems in lane and the scaling outscales the flats by level 9. You could use either or to be honest though, it is moreso preference.

Can you elaborate on the choice for scaling mana regen blues over flat mana regen? I feel like I'm only ever having mana problems early game, mid to late game I am always fine and I don't even have mana regen runes at all.

I ran a hybrid page awhile back, hybrid reds/quints and went 9 0 21. it's really strong, but I do prefer the extra tankiness because her base stats are really low

Hey dude, not sure if this will get an answer, but still trying regardless.

I have picked up Sona and usually do well, but I have eventually started to wonder if going something like 9 7 14 and getting some magic pen in my runes wouldn't work ?

Her AP ratios aren't impressive but she has a lot of magic damage, that kind of runes might boost her early damage output quite a bit.

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of building an Athene's because it's really expensive for a support item that gives no real buffs to your team. I'd rather build a crucible over an Athene's, but in terms of an item it isn't bad at all on Sona due to the mana, mr, and a bit of extra ap.

Maybe consider Athene's Unholy Grail in build? I had it in big number of games.
