@Arcanist Supreme
I definitely have replays, I can upload them to YouTube. And I'm on summer break now, so I'll be streaming pretty frequently, if my internet at home allows it.
I love this guide. Had to support and picked Zyra just because, and now she's all I want to play! Do you have any replays you could link in the guide? When do you typically stream?
@Exacerberus
I actually never did the math on the AP quints, so thanks very much for that info. I've never tried MS quints, though that is definitely a viable alternative, especially given the overall buff to MS quints with the season 3 movement changes. (Universal +25 to all champs' base movespeed). I can definitely see that being a good substitute. However I will tell you that often times I can barely secure kills with just a last auto attack or 1 more plant attack, so the small things do add up.
@Kixar
Taric is easy only if the Taric doesn't know what he's doing. If Taric stuns YOU for 2 seconds, and shatters you while the enemy ADC follows up on YOU, you're going to die very quickly and without being able to get your combo off.
As for Sona, I definitely recommend trying to all-in her at level 2, because as you said, her sustain/poke outclasses yours.
On your counters List for zyra. I find Taric to be very little threat. I think its one of Zyra's easier matchups. Generally I just zone tarics, and punish them for going into bushes with a W > Q for harass. Leona however is spot on and very annoying. My hardest matchups is Sona supports. For some reason that poke just gets ridiculous.
Hello, another (dumb?) question: atm I'm using Hybrid Pen Marks but can't decide between AP and MovSpeed Quints.
Do you think it's really worth it to go AP? Zyra's Q has 0.6 AP ratio, E O.5 and plants 0.2, so basically if you land a E+W+W+Q combo from lev 3 on to harass an enemy (and consider your plant will attack both 3 times) you gain "only" 34,5 damage from the full combo by going AP Quints instead than MovSpeed.
I've found that MovSpeed is pretty useful on Zyra both to play aggressively while still being relatively safe and to land more Grasping Roots.
Some feedback on this would really be appreciated. Thank you in advance
I agree with the Torment build. Seems more effective now especially given the abundance of excellent support items available now. My biggest problem is that with the fact that I essentially need to invest an extra 1,600 gold into wards at a very early stage, I don't have the money necessary to build into Rylai's. Picking up Haunting Guise is a really useful item, and Liandry's makes your damage spike by quite a lot. I do think that Rylai's is completely viable on her still, but Liandry's is also a very good alternative/replacement. Building the two together is optimal, but the cost is relatively impossible unless you're looking at a 40-50 minute game.
I've been experimenting with rushing Torment over Rylai and I feel like it's working better for me. I feel like the slow from Rylai's isn't exactly as useful as the AoE damage bonus I get from torment. How do you feel about that? I feel like magic penetration is more useful then the bonus AP because her AP Ratios aren't really all that, plus it makes your plants extremely useful.
@ModaLitsu
Picking Zyra against ADCs with no dash is extremely powerful. E.g. MF, Kog'Maw, etc. It's also good to pick Zyra against supports that have low poke capability, or low sustain, because Zyra is extremely good at poking.
Zyra is also extremely good with AoE lockdown ultimates, e.g. Amumu. Zyra/Amumu is one of the strongest synergies in the game. He ults, you lay your ult down on top of his ult, and they're guaranteed CC'd for about 4 seconds. Basically anything that can tie up an enemy team and guarantee Zyra's knockup on her ult, let's Zyra maximize her effectiveness.
