IntroductionRyze is one of the best AP mid in-game and is usually overlooked. Ryze isa Mage-Tank, which can initiate team fights as a front-line, and can be put in the back-line to deal damage to their front-line or peel for the ADC.
Overall Ryze is a good well-rounded Champion that can fit many roles, which lets your team comp have a lot of choices, instead of limiting the choices to Pure DPS or Tanks.
Usually most AP mids run this, good for bullying in lane, and with the one point in Summoner Wraiths, you'll gain an additional 5 AP when used.
This is a good build to chase down foes due to his short CDs, and helps him position and team fight, stick on his target, and help gank lanes.
With Ryze movement speed buff with ult, exhaust sets up kill potential and exhaust helps kill high priority targets.
Good for positioning, setting up team fights, and ganks.

Pretty Much Self-Explanatory, Skills Grants 1 Second Cooldown to other skills, which helps him spam skills.
Passive: Ryze gains 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 10% cooldown reduction.
Active: Ryze blasts enemy unit for 60/85/110/135/160 (+40% of ability power) plus 6.5% of his max mana in magic damage.

One of the best moves in game, very low cooldown, spammable, with his passive, it mostly always up, letting you deal tons of damage.

Ryze traps an enemy unit, preventing them from moving for 0.75 / 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 and dealing 60 / 95 / 120 / 165 / 200 (+60% of ability power) plus 4.5% of his max mana in magic damage.

Good long snare, helps set up kill in team fights or shut someone down.
E: Spell Flux
Ryze unleashes a bouncing orb of magical power which bounces to enemy units or himself, up to 5 times. Each bounce deals 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 / 120 (+35% of ability power)(+1% of max mana) magic damage and reduces the target's Magic Resistance by 15.

Like a free Magic Pen, helps him deal tons of damage.
R: Desperate Power
Ryze becomes supercharged for 5 / 6 / 7 seconds, gaining 15 / 20 / 25 % spell vamp, causing his spells to deal 50% AoE damage, and granting him 35/45/55 movement speed.
Cooldown 70 / 60 / 50 seconds
He completely melts squishys in team fight while not even targeting them, the 50% AoE damage which spammable skills is deadly, and hard to kill because of the gained Spell Vamp.
Early GameEarly game, Ryze is really vulnerable, spamming his Q in lane, makes him goes oom, and it's hard to last hit with him starting off. Your role in the early game is to farm, and occasionally pressure the lane with Q, as it does good damage.
Mid GameRyze is very destructive mid game, once he gets his banshee and frozen heart. Very hard to kill him and since his skills also scale with AP, it is very easy for him to kill the squishy and secure objectives in team fight, don't be scared to engage a team fight, because the spell vamp from your ults really helps you and it should be to the point where the enemy ADC doesn't have much Armour Pen, your mostly like going to win your team fights.
Late GameRyze is a killing machine late game, usually with blue buff he'll be at 40% CDR, and is a Mage-Tank, he can just walk into team fights, hit the ult and sustain while getting focused, forcing their adc to back out the fight, or he can just burst their tank once they engage, either way it is very hard to beat a late game Ryze, pretty much like a fed Vayne late game.
