Introductionhi guys, My ingame name is TRP Masaru and i play on the EU- West server, i have seen many ezreal guides and i felt like some of them were lacking so here is my own guide.
Runesthis rune set is based on a little survivability and good early harrassment. i put a couple of flat mana regen runes in there becouse you wont have mana problems in endgame since you have manamune if you follow this guide ^^ . i know these lose effectiveness fast but it makes your early game a little better. armor pen is standard for ad carry and since ezreal relies a lot on skill shots i put some cooldown runes in there. Im going with HP quints instead of armor penetration to add a little more survivability since you will end up in stupid situations if you dont use your E properly where this little extra HP might save you :)
Masteriesim going with offensive masteries since the defence is covered in the runepage and i just dont like to use the utility tree except for junglers and support. enough said :)
im going with flash and exhaust because i feel the most comfortable with those 2 on a ad carry. the flash is only used when your E is on cooldown or if you dont have enough mana to use it. exhaust is to make their carries useless or can also be used as a escape ability in ganks.
other spells that can be used :
you shouldnt use any other summoner spells then these on ezreal. some people think cv is also good on ez to snipe them with ur ult. but u cant expect the enemy to just sit quietly in bushes recalling with a huge eye next to them casted by ezreal.
Skill Orderthe skill order im using is kinda strange for most people. everyone says lvl Q and E first. i disagree, if you check the improvement when you lvl Q and compare it to W and E you will see what i mean. for the Q skill you get roughly 25 extra damage for every lvl and a little cooldown reduction. however your W and E give about 60 damage each lvl. and W isnt as useless as people think. in mid game teamfights its a very dangerous spell if lvled high, every enemy you hit loses attack speed , which can be a gamechanger against a ad heavy team. its also a very strong spell for early game harrasment.
Passive: Rising Spell Force
Hitting a target with any of Ezreal's abilities increases his attack speed by 10% for 6 seconds (Max Stacks: 5).
gotta love his passive:) you should launch ur ult first in teamfights and get max stacks right away and go rampaging on the enemies, great attack speed dont forget to keep the passive up tho .
Q: Mystic Shot
Ezreal fires a bolt of energy dealing 40 / 65 / 90 / 115 / 140 plus 110% of his attack damage and 20% of his ability power as physical damage (applies on-hit effects).
Ezreal's cooldowns are reduced by 1 second if Mystic Shot hits a target.
/ 35 / 40 / 45 / 50mana
this skill is a very good farming and harrassing tool. and on top of that it reduces the rest of your cooldowns by 1 second each time it hits... goodluck spamming ur ulti every 40-50 seconds. i personally prefer to use smart cast on every skill, this saves some time between casting allowing you to launch ur combos faster. this takes some practice.
W: Essence Flux
Ezreal fires a wave of energy that damages all enemy champions it passes through for 75 / 125 / 175 / 225 / 275 (+60% of ability power). Affected ally and enemy champions have their attack speed respectively hasted or slowed by 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% for 5 seconds.
Cost 60/70/80/90/100 mana
i personally love this skill, its very underrated and i lvl it early for the nice debuff on enemies and the nice damage :)
E: Arcane Shift
Ezreal teleports to a target nearby location and fires a homing arrow at the nearest enemy unit dealing 80 / 130 / 180 / 230 / 280 (+75% of ability power) magic damage.
this skill is pretty much what makes ezreal so special, its a free flash + damage, can be used to open fights or to run from fights, just think before you use it.
R: Trueshot Barrage
Ezreal channels for 1 second to fire a barrage of missiles dealing 350 / 500 / 650 (+90% of ability power and +1 per bonus attack damage) magic damage to each unit it passes through. However, it deals 8% less damage for each unit it hits (Minimum 30%).
Cooldown 80 seconds
Cost 150 mana
this skill shouldnt be used for farming, simply because its damage gets reduced for each unit it hits... you should try to use this to finish off running/recalling champions, to open teamfights and ofcourse to steal buffs, dragon and baron :D if your aiming it at champions try to aim it in such a way that it doesnt hit minions before it hits the target for maximum damage.
Item Buildsthis is a pretty standard item build. some people disagree with building a manamune, but its just a personal preference to be able to spam ur skills in teamfights or for harrassing without being worried about your mana. its really expensive to harrass with a lvled W thats another reason why i use it. you can always replace it in lategame if the game lasts that long. the trinity force works instantly with ezreal his q, so you get the damage buff right away if it hits. same with gangplank and irelia pretty much. the cooldown boots can be replaced by tenacity boots if the enemy is CC heavy this is up to you.
Final Commentsalways keep a eye on low hp enemies , dragon and baron. ezreal is 1 of the few champions who makes good use of both the blue and red buff. his Q applies the effects of the red buff to. and the cooldown reduction of blue on ezreal is just insanely usefull since ezreal is a skill shot champ. i use smart cast for everything on ezreal, it saved you 5 clicks ( also 1 for exhaust ^^ )
Early Gamestart with dorans blade and guard ur jungler if you have one, he will appreciate it. go to your lane once the minions spawn. bot lane is the best lane to farm for ezreal, try to get a teammate to play support, since the support is in ur lane it means the river is warded most of the time and you can farm and harrass the enemy without problems. you can be really aggresive with ezreal since his early damage is pretty nice, try to harrass a little with Q and as soon as you hit lvl 2 use your E+Q combo followed by auto attacks. this will drop down their hp so quick you might even get a kill ^^ or 1 of them might waste exhaust/flash. just keep farming and once you reach lvl 6 keep checking the other lanes for any low hp enemies. also ward dragon for a possible dragon steal, dont cast ur ult to late the enemy jungler probably has smite so try to time it well.
Mid Gametry to ask your jungler for a red buff and try to catch some enemies out of position, if you farmed well you should atleast have manamune and sheen by now with some boots. this is where your champion shines and you should make use of it, hunt some people down ^^ dont forget to push ur lane tho you dont want to lose any turrets do you o.o
Late Gamein late game you should be 1 of the first champions with complete item builds which means you should make use of it. hunt people down who you can handle, take some buffs, dragon and baron if possible. keep pushing lanes this is very important in late game. if you have your item build complete let other people clear the lanes since they need it more then you do. just try to get into good teamfights and own them!
Team Fightsin team fights you open up with your ult to get max stacks on your passive, just attack the enemies with Q+W and autoattacks, you dont want to use E yet unless if you have flash up. exhaust the enemy carry and focus their squishies/damage dealers. if its a long teamfight with people chasing eachother you should have ur ult up again at the end to finish some people off :) make the last push and gratz. you won :) if you aced them you should mainly focus on turrets/ enemy buffs/dragon and baron.
