Introduction
I'll start off by saying this isn't a PRO MLG 360 NOSCOPE 3900 ELO build, but it is FUN AS ALL HELL.Ready to tank all the things and do all the damages? Then this build is for you.
The build is succinct right now, with a focus on items, but I will expand on it if people wish.
Pros and Cons
Pros:-Quite tanky, very good damage
-Split-type damage is hard to itemize against
-Absolutely massive teamfight presence with AoEs of both damage types
-Mid-game lockdown is INSANE with Frozen Fist
Cons:
-Expensive as hell
-You must stack 2 Tear of the Goddesses
-Because of the above two, this is the latest of late-game builds
-"Default" build listed above lacks enough Health to make optimal use of the 140ish Armor/Magic Resistance you get from the build
-Lacks penetration: thus even though this build takes forever, you won't be able to scratch tanks late game
Masteries
Optimized for damage, and MR with the assumption you're going mid.
Runes
Done as they are for immense MR against your lane opponent (assuming you're mid) as well as late-game tankiness.
Summoner Spells

![summoners/ghost.png [summoners/ghost.png]](guide/summoners/ghost.png)
For early kills and for chasing- between your Ghost, your Frozen Fist procs and your snare, there is NO ESCAPE.
Explanation:
Skills
Passive: Arcane MasteryExplanation:
It helps you spam. You can spam your spells to proc your Frozen Fist and get your Rune Prison up again quicker- again, NO ESCAPE.
Q: OverloadExplanation:
Maxed first for maximum damage output.
W: Rune PrisonExplanation:
Need I say it again? NO FREAKING ESCAPE. Catch someone out with this or a FroFist proc followed up by this, and they're screwed.
E: Spell FluxExplanation:
It lowers MR, it gives you FroFist procs, you can spam it to get your Rune Prison up again.
R: Desperate PowerExplanation:
Oh, hey, remember all those nice single target spells you had? Remember how Muramana only procs on single-target spells? Say hello to team-crushing AoEs. (If I'm not mistaken, your q and w still proc Muramana while this is on, if this is incorrect, let me know).
Item Builds
This build is meant for being tanky while doing tons of hybrid damage in AoEs.Grab your Tear of the Goddess as early as possible and SPAM THAT SUCKER- you have to fully stack 2 of these for this build, so get spammin'.
You can take
in place of
for tenacity, though if you want EITHER of these items will depend on your playstyle. You will end up with over 200 AD, but with no crits and as spammy as Ryze is, you're probably just going to be using that to get your
procs every 3 seconds and that's all, so neither of these items may be necessary. Use your best judgment based on what type of damage you need to be doing and your playstyle.Other possible later items include
for CC removal,
in place of
for tenacity and further tankiness.
is very good for this build as well for a focus on more damage while still providing health, and it synergizes well with both your
and, if you build ultimate troll by building
for slows on EVERYTHING EVER as well as more health. As mentioned in pros and cons, this build lacks penetration, and that hurts. A
can counteract this, but it doesn't fit with the build's idea of being tanky.
fits the bill nicely, and if you don't build
, this item can fit great in its place. Unfortunately, Abyssal isn't as effective late-game for penetration as Void Staff is, which is where pen is most important, especially for you.

Frozen Fist is good for Tanks. Ryze is tanky (which you aren't even building him as), but this isn't his job. This is the job for Maokai/Skarner/Malphite. You already have a spamable root you don't need the slow. Wit's End is also a terrible idea, you shouldn't be auto attacking this much.
This build looks in every way inferior to standard Ryze. You already lock down a single target and rip them apart with his standard build. This build would do that worse, since you don't have full CDR and thus won't be getting your spells out as often.
