First Time Base: OR even but revolver is only for lanes where you got your socks rocked by some aggressive poking from enemy and you dont have enough sustain to stand your ground more than few minutes. But generally I think hextech revolver is not katarina stuff anymore or is it you choose. Haunting Guise is in my opinion best starting stuff (and it gets you to close to Liandrys Torment which is your FIRST CORE ITEM TO BUILD ASAP! yeah who the f**k doesnt want some blazing blades on his side?)Seriously you want mostly go first with or AFTER


FIRST STUFF ALLWAYS! It gives you Penetration, Ability power and Health


DAT SLOW! It helps you chase and run away from them. Katarina needs this stuff for crazy plays and kiting the enemy team. Sinister steel gives you movement speed while Rylai slows your enemies movement speed. Seriously you dont need this stuff but in normal game makes just kata playing so much funnier.
+ Every 4 skills you have got slow and that is a Buttload of slow.

I think this piece doesnt need any explaining at all why you bought this for AP carry.

Core Items: These 4 items I usually have with katarina but you have to adjust to the game and like I said top/mid we can take em both so lets have closer look on "maybe" stuff.



Maybe Stuff (AFTER Deathcap):

People builded this on katarina allready in beta long time ago. YEAH 3 years ago! Reason why its on maybe stuff is if you didnt buy it before Deathcap you probably shouldnt buy it anymore because if you want magic penetration you propably need
Void Staff +40% Magic pene more than -20 resist to enemy champs.

Cant be denied, propably 1 of the best stuff in the whole game but you dont need it, if your team got lot of cc and covers you or you feel like (a boss) they cant kill you. Still viable item you can make most craziest plays with it and it will save you from time to time. Only but is it aint for beginners(newbies) because its use have to be timed perfectly to get aggro from enemy team in TF(teamfight)and let them waste some time on you while rest of your team is rocking their socks off or just to get time to reset cd on shunpo so after gold mode ends you plant ward over the ledge and shunpo on it etc.

If you wanna be the guy who shoots for the kills with all you got this is your stuff most definatly. Season 3 patch brings deathfire back in the ring. Very viable for kata suits for him.

/ Guys who chicken in the start and have seen other people building revoler for kata. Dont use it please you waste too much money on crap like that there so much more good stuff for katarina.

Yeah its cheap and it can reward you greatly but it is like going to the casino and shove all your money on black in roulette so to build this item you have to be true player, the Master Gambler. You can never predict game and be 100% sure that you gonna get those stacks or can you keep them after getting them. If you insist to buy meijai you should go for Guardian Angel also for obvious reasons.

+ Cheap
+ Snowballing is coolest things in whole game
+ Gambling is best thing you can do your pants on
- Gambling can drive you to raging after couple fails and you lose everthing
- Not for a stable build
- Haters gonna hate (There is people that will demise you to the lowest depths of Hell after buying it, but f**k them)

Its second life for kata very usefull, because your gonna get aggro from enemy team if you are fed or just snowballing. Also gives u defensive stats vs enemys heavy dmg. BUT theres a but why not go for Zhonya then? Reason is simple with Guardian you cant fail (automatic activation when you should die) zhonya activation can be failed so horribly and so many times.

+ Second life (sounds uber)
+ Cool animation over your champion
+ Makes you kata the initator
- That animation is like from 90's
- No ap?

Final Items: This is mostly the full build that I'm going for. In later late game you can make hardcore tuning and sell bootses or/and Haunting Guise for OR .
