Who am I ?Hi guys , my name is Lone Player, I'm French and I play on EUW server and am a Shen-main player.
Though, I don't say I'm a high ELO player, because I dont play ranked that much when I want to pick Shen. In fact he's banned in 3/4 of my soloQ´s .
I did manage to get to Silver League, in which Shen is way less banned, so I can play him more often :)
Sooo, I've been playing 300 games with shen, with my main account or smurfs. I came to a situation where, when I'm against another Shen on top lane, I never loose.
Hopefully this guide will help you understand how I play Shen.
It may be a classic version of this champion, because I like watching what pros do with some champions, that adapt their plays to my own playstyle !
Hope you enjoy :)

Who is Shen ? Why play him ?Ok, so as you see, Shen is a Ninja !
Why do I play Shen ?
Ninja ( ! )
Sustain--> Means you can recover health with your Q-Spell
Useful in a Team --> Your ult is one of the best in teamfights, and even more in early skirmishes and dragon fights.
Ultimate makes your initiation predictible throughout the laning phase, meaning that you wont usually get a kill by using your ultimate during the laning phase, excepted if you have hard cc team , ex : Varus+Shen Ults
With Tank Shen Build you won't be a damage dealer. You have to get used to it ;)
No Cons, You're Shen !
When do I pick Shen ?
--> When he is not banned :D
--> When your team has already 2/3 hard CC Spells
--> When you already have a nice amount of damage in your team, as Shen is not a bursty champion at all.
MasteriesMy masteries are 1/22/7 to get the right masteries according to my summoners.
I take 1 points in Offense to get Summiner's Wrath, that gives you a nice AP+AD bonus when ignite is down.
I run 22 in Defense to get alot tankier, with Bonus Hp .
I don't take the Slow reduction because as Shen, you don't really rely on your movement speed to escape a gank, because now you have Flash+Taunt if it gets really sticky.
I prefer taking turret damage reduction, even though it seems weird, because it really helps me to dive people on my lane or even on botlane when I go for a gank.
I grab all points in Tenacious. This mastery helps me a lot , late game , to stick onto a carry or even to protect your carries without getting Hard-CC'ed.
The Tier 1 and 2 Defense Masteries help a lot during laning phase, enabling you to poke quite efficiently without taking too much damage back : I take 3 points for Armor because your opponent will most likely be AD, 1 point in Magic resist for MidLane ganks or AP Toplaner.
Going 4 points in Durability grants 108 more health at level 18. Veteran Scars also brings up 30 Health. These 2 masteries give Hen a good amount of tankiness and also of damage on your q and passive. Finally put your last point in this tree into Honor Guard to reduce damage taken from a purcentage.
I go 7 in Utility to get the Flash CDR Mastery .
I go for 3 points in Mastermind cause I want my Flash to be up as soon as possible !
Here's a picture from my mastery page !
Op Summoner Spell, on every LoL game 6 people go for Flash at least. Proof that this summoner is OP.
Everything that is OP gets nerfed, so Riot made sure they nerfed flash in S3, making its Cooldown reach a high amount of time.
Most of the players still pick this up though.
On Shen, it is particularly good because it allows you to Flash+ in order to taunt an enemy that stands far away from your team.
On the other side, it allows Shen to be super aggressive against the enemy laner, and then retreat quite fast if ever he was in trouble, with his high mobility.
With Mastermind Mastery + Summoner's Insight , your Flash's Cooldown will be 240 secs instead of 300 according to my math, that gives you 1 Flash every 4 Minutes instead of every 5 minutes, which is great I think.
You need this Op summoner spell as much as other champions on toplane, because one of Shen's issues is that he has problemsd to finish off his preys early on. Ignite deals a lot of damage, considering that it is a DoT spell, and it deal true damage, it is pretty much the best offensive summoner's in LoL, if not the only one.
Plus it reduces healing and life steal by a large amount, making lanes vs sustained champs much easier ( IE ,.
When you use your ultimate to save someone or get kills, it makes it even easier to do so because you have more damage, thanks to your Ignite.
Don't forget you have 3 points in Mastermind, which reduces its CD by a nice amount.
You could want :
I sometimes run Teleport, and I used to have Teleport as my main Summoner Spell.
If you choose to go Tank Shen build, Teleport is the spell you need. Why ?
Because as Tank Shen, you don't lane the same way as "Master Shen" does. With your GP10 + Tanking Build, you won't be able to get a lot of kills in lane, and the gold you will get will give you tankiness and not damage, as you will most likely understand.
Having Teleport with a tanky build helps you stay in lane longer, come back faster after a death or an Ulti.
If you use Teleport, don't forget to chqnge your masteries to get the right points into the right Masteries :p
I used to run Attack Speed Marks in S2, but I switched to :
Magic Penetration Marks => Why ? Helps your Magic Damage Output.
Basically Shen deals magic damage with all of his abilities, and don't forget you will be building items that also deal damage , like / !
So overall great runes, that improve your damage even if you can't autoattack every time.
These runes are definitely better than Attack Speed Runes on Lane Shen.
Seals==> Like most of the Toplaners, I always picked up Flat Armor Seals because it has a very good ratio, and your lane opponent will most of the time be AD. Even if he is not, these seals help you to tank minions/ autoattacks quite efficiently !
If you face a Mid/Late Game Ap Caster on Top ( It can happen ! ), you could choose Scaling Health glyphs.
Why ? Because shen scales really well with Health, and after level 9 , where an Ap caster can start dealing insane damage, you have lots of bonus health and , making you extremy hard to kill in lane.
Glyphs==> I go Scaling Magic Resist on Top Shen, because it helps you alot in Mid/Late Game fights and skirmishes. It adds up to your Magic Res items.
Usually, Mage Casters can deal alot of damage when they reach level 9, where they have a lvl5 spell. AND at level 9 Scaling Magic Resist Glyphs give more Magic Resist than Flat ones. Here's the deal.
So if you think you are against an AP Caster that can burst you down early, you can go for an alternative rune page, with 5 Flat MR Glyphs and 4 Sclaing MR Glyphs.
If you fear an early game Hard aggression by an Ap Toplane+Jungle , don't be afraid to just start on Shen, due to the fact that in S3 your base Ms is higher, and with your Runes it's even more.
Quintessences==> I always go MoveSpeed quints. It helps your roaming a lot, your escape easier, your chasing more efficient !
Shen needs move speed because overall his utility is great throughout all of his spells.
If you backed or died, you can also come back to lane faster LOL.
Ok bro, these Quints are the best. Use them ( DYRUS GET OUT OF MY HEAD)
Here you go.
Standard Rune Page :
Vs Hard Ap Rune Page :
Passive: Ki Strike
A very nice passive that scales with health.
Shen's passive gives him a nice late game Scaling, just because your Health alwazys grows up , even if you don't go for Health Items !
If you have attack speed it procs faster, this is why Attack Speed Items are so good on Shen and why everybody used to pick up ... RIP
Basically, this passive makes you a tanky person + a damage dealer in late game. Dont forget the cooldown of Ki Strike is written on its image.
Very useful when you want to go for a bit of harass.
Quick Harass Combo : Wait for your to be up, then Q+ Attack your target, that can deal a bit of nice dmg at level 1 or 2 !
Q: Vorpal Blade
Literally your bread-and-butter skill. Why ?
It's simple. This skill is ranged, so it gives Shen the ability to farm even if he is bullied by a melee champion that can deal tons of damage in a short time, like .
It is also a great sustain tool. These two aspects combined give you a great lane control, because even if you get poked hard, you can still sustain a lot and keep your health up.
You can also last hit with this abilty if you are undertower, which helps you a lot since you don't go for a lot of attack damage. Don't forget last-hitting with still heals you, even if you don't autoattack your target. the heal amount scales off your Max Health, so there is another reason to go for High-Health items ( see in Section ).
If you want to get dome nice poke on to your lane opponent, don't forget to + as said before.
This skill makes you tanky and durable.
Still, this skill's Ap Ratio and Shield Amount have been nerfed, so the shield is pretty weak.
Don't forget it can save you from a lot of scary situations when you max this second, like stopping an Ignite from killing you, or whatever.
It can also be used to bait your opponent ( make him think he can kill you ) for a low-hp kill.
I use it most of the time to avoid taking damage of offensive spells, like Gangplank's Q, or Kennen's Q, or even Pantheon's Spears.
A correctly-timed can allow you to absorb some damage from champions that have some kind of high cooldowns.
Having your W up helps to proc faster, so don't hesistate to use it ASAP when trading as it will also give you bonus damage output.
E: Shadow Dash
Shen dashes through the shadows ! Hahaha.
Great escape/chase/gapclosing tool. Can cross most walls of, and Taunt has even more range then a flash ! is very useful when your opponent is in turret range, because taunting him undertower will allow you to put out some nice damage. By this way, you can turn greedy 2v1 dives in your favor, which I have done several times.
Shadow Dash( E ) can even help you escape ganks ! This skill saved my life hundreds of times :)
This skill is not worth maxing second anymore, because the Taunt Duration is the same at all levels. Max it by level 18.
R: Stand United
This ultimate makes Shen considered as OP by most people, and make gim banned in Ranked :(
Riotbcan nerf Shen as much as they want, if Stand United is not removed of League of Legends Shen will continue being a gret champion, just because of the concept of this skill and the mobility it gives.
Early/Mid Games, it can turn Botlane ganks in your Team's favor, and even give you some nice assists/kills.
This skill can save fed allies or even yourself. I don't recommend ulting to escape. You only do this if you're going , like 10/0/9 and all the enemy team comes top :D
AND ==> Cry Baby Shen. Huge Wave pushers, ranged harass, massive sustain, one has a really good escape ( Pool ), the other one has 2 lives :D Be really careful when you face a good vlad, at level 6 he can really burst you down instantly with Ignite+Full STacked E+Q+Ult. Yorick will not kill youif you buy a , which I highly recommand when you are facing one of these two.
You basically can not kill these guys if they dont make early mistakes or if your jungler doesnt camp top :/ So ask for ganks pre-6, and post-6 push your lane asap, then roam with ult or just in their jungle !
Always Start . Starting clot against Darius is just not viable, because he has so muh Armor pen, and his ult uses true damage. Try to avoid his Q as much as possible, farm with your Q if necessary, dont forget to harass him if he doesnt hit you hard, because he has No sustain in lane. Your harass is ranged, so pre-6 you win this lane. Post-6, i usually dash out when he pulls me in. If he doesn't kill you, he wont snowball, and if he doesnt u are more useful in teamfights. Stack Health against Darius !
Kayle ==> Good Kayle's STOMP you. Try to taunt ? Ok you're slowed. Try to poke with Q ? Look at ur healthbar drop. Try to escape ? Permaslowed. Want to dive her ? Ult on herself, free death. I suggest not picking Shen against Kayle, one of your few counters.
==> Cry Me A River. This guys makes you regret every cs you take, makes jungler ganksimpossible post-6, blinds you when you go attack-speed .... Everything he has counters your kit.
Dont worry, after his AP/Ratios nerfs, he is even less useful in teamfights.
Kha'Zix ==> I faced him once on toplane, though Champion Select mark him as a weak pick against Shen, I got raped pretty hard by his isolated damage, due to the fact I hadn't met any Kha Zix's before. He falls off late game though, try to farm to keep on on goldand come back in lategame.
I played against her once, at low levels she will be on the defensive, always care about her burst post-6 though. If she jumps onto you, press W, taunt if you think you can beat her, or dash away if you have any problem. She will fall off late game, not you.
This is a champion you can kill before his level 6, and not anymore afterwards. But dont forget he will never get to kill you, thanks to your shadow dash. If you time it correctly, you dodge his long-CD skillshots and taunt him for loads of damage. Post-6, more of a Farm-Lane.
Be extremely wary though, good Cho Gaths can chunk your health bar then flash-R you for a kill. That's why i highly recommend you get before his level 6.
Pretty passive lane, because GP knows he won't kill u in the laning phase. Indeed, when he shoots at you, shield most of his dmg. I sometimes want to take 2 or 3 points in W before maxing Q against GP. I start against this Bro.
Never faced this guy on toplane. If you do, definitively pick up Ignite, and dodge his cleavers.
I played once against her, start Cloth+5Pots, play safe and if possible try to taunt her undertower. The Fiora I was against did this mistake, and when she got a bit of stuff i had already got my Frozen Mallet, which meant game over. Be careful though if she picks up Exhaust+Ignite, because fighting her at level 2-3 could mean a certain death for you.
Another champion that can usually be aggressive in every lane. With Garen it is different, because he deals no damage in late game. If your team doesnt die to him, gg wp. What I do against Garen is start , and push my lane as much as possible while always having 2 wards on the river, so that he cannot kill you even with his jungler. He wont be able to roam : You won your lane.
Start + , you will need sustain. If Irelia jumps on you, shield right away. If you have more health than her, dash away. You have enough sustain to stay in lane and enough escape not to get killed. Here, it's up to the junglers to decide who wins the lane. Rush Mallet as fast as possible to counter her true damage. Play more defensive in lane once she hits level 5-ish( less E-Q harass )!
Though Jax is a broken champ, picking Shen against him is a good idea because his main skill, AOE stun, can be dodged with your E. Before his level 6, poke n'harass but without using Taunt. If she A's on you and presses E , dash away and see his stun wasted. He has more cooldown than your E if he doesn't max E first, which he'll rarely do. Be careful after his level 6, one error and he will burst you down. In Late Game you can fight him 1V1 ( At least TPA Stanley can )
Kennen ==> Dodge/Shield His Q , dash out of his full lvl 6 burst. Hard lane to gank, if he goes AP you can farm but you wont be able to 1v1 him. If he goes AD farming will be hard for you, but you can fight him quite easily later in the game.
Lee Sin ==> Pretty rare on toplane, but I have faced 3 or 4 Lee Sin on top, and none of them won their lane. Stay behind your creeps and harass him without E : Q-AA-w-AA-E back .
Don't LET HIM KILL YOU. He will be useless late game due to his poor ratios.
If he is the jungler, wait for him to Q you before dashing back to your turret. If you dash before his Q he will land it for a free kill.
Malphite ==> Malphite is as much banned as Shen. But if you happen to lane against him, dont hesitate : Rush Mercury's + Wit's End . Even with his CC's he won't outlane you, and if he can't , then you won your lane, thanks to your splitpushing ability, with Ult+TP.
Mordekaiser ==> I think I never had a good Mordekaiser against me , but all the Mordes i have faced couldn'tdo anything when I had Mercury+Wit's at 15 mn :D
Laning againsthim means you have to be able to spam your shield and taunt him whenever you can, due to his lack of escape/Chasing tools.
I have been so fed against Morde's :D
Nasus => ANNOYING LANE. Boring, this champ slows you, slows your attack speed.... It makes your laning phase so boring. Be very careful though, don't let him farm ! Harass with Q asap, and pick up your Mallet fast, so that you don't get One Shotted by him once he gets his Trinty Force. If you dominate himearly, he's down for the rest of the game, because then you will zone him out of lane and deny his farm.
Nidalee => Spear is easily dodgable with E or only your high MS ( runes ) . Before her level 6, play really aggressive, pick up . Ask for jungler ganks to smack her before her level 6. Afterwards, she becomes a real threat for her high damage and pushing ability, making it extremely risky to leave your lane for a TP/Ult. She locks you on Toplane, because once you leave she's able to push extremely fast, even faster than you ! If she goes AD, you'll have a tough time early on, but just go and it's basically gg.
==> Same start as Renekton, you should farm with your Q in order never to get stunned. She can close huge gaps, make sure you stay out of range. If she uses her Q to close gaps/move, E-Q-AA-w-AA-retreat. Gank Riven is useless, preparefor being left alone on toplane. If she doesnt kill you, she won't be this effective in Late Game. Dont forget to taunt her if you feel confident, her dmg reduced by 50% is nothing.
Rumble ==> Rumble is an AP fighter who has a kiting potential, but his huge damage comes from his Flamethrower, melee range and it has a pretty long cooldown. What I suggest you to do is bait his Flamespitter, stay out, and when it's nearly over, taunt him and you win the trade. When he gets lvl 6, be careful of not being caught by his ultimate that deals very high damage if you stay in it. If you know he has it up, save your Dash to escape. This guy has a great teamfight presence, but if you dominate him he will be useless. Go agressive ninja.
AND ==> Tanky Bros. Gank them early game or never kill them. They will get tankyer and tankyer, in Late Game you will have to be at least 2-3 on him to kill this guy. Singed is a badass pusher, make sure you can still defend your lane. Be careful with their fling, I once got first blooded when I taunted a singed, that flung me undertower and exhausted me :'(
==> Good Trynds will make you cry, other make you laugh. Buy against him, and he can't do shit. Only do this if he's good. Agains Tryndamere you want to pick up , and put this on him after 2 secs-ult, so that it will kill him right after.
AND ==> Start +. If they use a gap closer, dash away. Try to farm as safe as possible. Xin Zhao is quite easy to gank pre-6, get rid of him before 6. For those two rush .
You see him picked ? You laugh. On top ? Ok game won. He needs his ult/bump to be effective, which you can both escape with E. You have more sustain, more tankiness if you use your W right. Be careful to jungler ganks though, because Jarvan+Jungler can be quite annoying. Play aggressive as much as you can at all levels.
Olaf ==> Muahaha :) You basically counter this broken champion with your innate/Item Health. Rush Mallet ASAP, farm/push your lane whenever you can, and don't forget jungler ganks are very effective against olaf before his level 6. Afterwards, you can't taunt him anymore, which is annoying. Np, use to make yourself useful.
Poppy==> She can remove 25% of your health at level 18 with a 5 seconds CD spell. She is useless against Shen excepted this ( which is already bad :D ) . She has no lane sustain/Escape though, ask for early ganks, lock her down to a zoned Toplane, and get your carries safe in Late GAme.
Pantheon ==> Spam your Shield. Farm with Q. Start +. Dont let him kill you and snowball. After his level 9 he falls off, when you are level 9 fight him 1vs1 if you have , and then wait for the teamfights to come and reverse the situation. NINJAS > Greeks.
==> Start +. PLay safe, dash away when he Double Dashes you. DOnt fight him when his ult is up, time it if you can.If he doesnt have it, you can fight him once you have your . He will normally build very tanky in Late Game, so he won't be a threat after your level 10.
GUYS SHEN RAPES :
GUYS SHEN FEARS :
What Items does Shen like to wear ? :)Basically, Shen is a tank that scales off both with Attack Speed, and Health.
His sustain is also a very good tool, and scales off with magic penetration very well.
So let's see all the items I make Shen wear, and why !
==> Good Ol'Times Item. S3 reworked, it is still really good on Shen due to the fact that it now brings HealthRegen !
I rarely run this item, but when I do, dont forget to upgrade it to
==> I really love this item. I don't put it in my "Item Build" Section because it´s really up to the player's skill yo know in what lane he is capable of dealing with the lack of sustain/damage/movespeed.
But I start with this item in 50% of my games, and sometimes even when facing ap tops like rumble or nidalee.
120 Health is awesome on Shen, making him really hard to 1vs1 early, and even giving him a kill potential over some champions because of your early q/Passive damage.
==> Great item. Slightly S3-nerfed , but still so good on Shen. Because it gives Health, Attack Damage that adds to the Attack Speed you get from Items/Runes/Masteries, and a PERMASLOW.
This means nobody can escape you when you get this.
This is one of the weapons Tank Shen carries.
==> When I see this item on S3, i say : R.I.P :'( I feel like this item has fallen right behind all other armor/health items that I will be talking about later on.
BUT this item has one of the best actives in the game, making it a really good buy on Shen, due to the fact that it brings additional CC, and that Attack Speed Slow is an Op thing. This item counters AD Assassins as well as Late Game Hypercarries ( ,...)
==> S3 reworked. This item is kow a great tool for champions with innate Sustain ( Shen has ) to keep up on Toplane against a bullying/sustaining/Harassing Champion.
When I face an aggressive Yorick/Ap Teemo/Nidalee, I often build Spirit Visage for Health, Cdr, magic resist.. This item gives you all you need against this type of match-up.
==> Great Item, Ninja on Flames sets Fire to the rain ( Ok no ).
Health + Armor ? Waw, great ! And by the way, awesome Halo that scales very well with Magic Pen.
I always grab this when facing melee champs like Jax/Irelia, that need to stick to you.
I grab this item all of my games, when I go Tank or Mater Shen build.
==> I pick this when I get One-Shotted by an Ad Carry or a Tryndamere/AD Yi.
It happens so rarely that I barely wrote down this item on the proper section, but if you have that kind of trouble, I suggest you wear a Sunfire Cape.
The magic damage returnes to opponent scales off with your magic pen though, you can get some funny things out of this.
==> Really.. Only Darien does this on the competitive scene.
It may seem odd.
BUT look how his utility and damage skyrocket once he gets this item !
As Shen, you have to be tanky, otherwise getting instagibbed will make you useless.
So I really don't want to rush Triforce in all of my games, that's why getting some kind of tankiness first is way better . It could be or just .
So you basically want to pick this item if you are solo carrying your team ( yes it does happen =D ), or you feel pretty confident in your capacity to play Shen as safe as you need, but as aggressive as this item allows you to be.
==> DAFUQ SHEN WHY TROLL. Naah ! This item gives you a bit of tankiness, and an awesome active ability, and buids out of your Kages Lucky Pick. I don't build this items all of my games, but if your support doesn't get this and he goes tanky, you should definitely build this.
Late Game, it can really save your life, or even create kill potential !
==> Awesome item, it gives you TonS of health and health regen. When you get this , ou're able to go full-on and taunt their team.
I ALWAYS pick this item on Shen, most of the time it is my 4th or 5th item.
When I go Master Shen, I rush this, it will be explained later.
==> One of my favorites LoL items . S3 patched, it now deals more damage on every basic attack, scaling off with magic penetration, allowing you some high damage for a tank if you choose to go Magic Penetration Marks !
It gives you Atack Speed for Passive Proc, and Magic Resist for Ap Toplaners or even Vs their AP carry in Mid Game Fights.
Shen likes to have those. Please be kind :)
Early GameLaning Phase.
Start by directing your Team ( SoloQ ) on what to do : Invade the enemy buff? Defend ours ?
If invading learn ! It is a very strong level 1 skill , because the enemy will have to out if you land it.
If anything else go normaly
Against most melee champions, you will have a pretty passive time if they dont go full-on you.
If they do, just , make them waste mana while you farm up and they lose cs.
If they priorityze cs'ing, then you can poke them with while farming .
When you see that your creep wave is outnumbering the enemy's, and your laner goes for a last-hit, him in your creeps, then + Autoattack for some huge dmg ( Minions deal a lot of damage early on ) .
Against lanes such as //, you wont be able to be that relaxed.
If you come to Cs, they will poke you to death, so you wlll have to use to get last hits. Be really careful about their poke, dont take too much !
If they are close to your minions, use to win a trade, and then just back off using .
For the rest, follow the Match-Up Section Advises !
Mid GameThis is when Dragon begins to be a great objective.
As Shen, you have some kind of teleport approx every 180 secs. So you have no problem to get there in time, you can stay in your lane, so that your enemies think your team is not going for dragon.
MidGame is the skirmish time !
In skirmish, the point , usually, is to go aggressive on a weak point of the enemy locations. So you basically want to be very awared of your minimap. Don't hesitate to ping your allies back, cause more often than not they don't look their minimap ( at my ELO, again ) ...
As Shen, you want to stick to your targets, making sure you are not alone chasing/fighting.
If you are premade with somebody, try to stick to him, because doing this you will maximize the dmg output.
Gap-closing/Damage Combo : ++ ( procs your passive faster ) !
Retreating combo : +. Try to save your flash as much as possible !
Mid Game is where Laning Phase ends, but for Shen Laning Phase is never over when you have your ultimate up. Always stay separated of your team when your is ready .
Late GameHere it really depends on how good you have been doing during the first part.
If doing good, at 35 minutes you should have completed 3 or 4 of your core items.
If you went Master Shen build, try to roam or push as much as possible, never stay inqctive or just farming, otherwise you're just useless.
You stay in Toplane if you have TP or Ult ready. Otherwise stay in team.
Your job is to push your lane as far as possible,so that at least 2 people go to defend the lane you're on.
Then you can Ult an ally to initiate on an isolated target, or recall.
When you use , make sure your allies know what they have to do when they get ulted. Take time to explain them if needed. I personnaly prefer ulting my premade mates when I can, because doing this you know that you will get something out of this long-CD ultimate.
If doing not so good, stick to your team, taking care of your carry wherever he goes.
Try to stay just in front of him if facing a High Poke Comp like --->+ !
IT IS ALSO YOUR JOB TO !! BAROOON
Team FightsYou are Shen.
You are tanky.
You deal damage.
You can chase.
You can disrupt.
These 5 points must be fulfilled in teamfights.
Look at your carries' score/stuff and enemys'.
If enemy team is ahead, go on FULL MAN MODE and taunt their carries while yours do the great job. I have made rage more than one Ad Carries without escapes ( like / ) by just sticking to them, permanently taunting them, spamming laugh, or just killing them while your carries destroy the enemy Ap Carry :)
If your team is ahead, always keep close to your carries and taunt whoever wouldtry to kill them.
To do this , make sure you always your W up all the time, even if you dont have enough energy to . You have to Protect your adc, he will deal more damage if he doesnt die instantly ! ( REALLY ! )
If you see someone escaping with few HP when your team still fights, think.
Nidalee ? Dont chase. Yi ? Dont chase.
Dont chase people you're not sure of killing. You better protect your carries/Secure other kills.
If you can fulfill perfectly the five points I have talked about earlier in a teamfight, you ARE a good shen.
And always remember Shen can turn around incredible teamfights, and make the game WON/LOST. So you better be a good Shen !

1/6/2013 ==> Huge Update ! Summoner Spells changed ! I was greatly inspires by TPA Stanley's plays during S2 Championship. Also greatly improving all chapters, in order to make my guide approved before the Februar Holidays ! Thank you guys for the support, Liking/Commentating this guide is apreciated !
I'm currently working over my guide, Match-Up Section may be odd for a little time.
1/25/2013 ==> Guide fully finished, submitted for approval.
1/29/2013 ==> GUIDE APPROVED !!!!! THANK you all for the support, and thanks to the mods :D
2/3/2013 ==> Shen has been nerfed. Check details on LoL Website.
I think it isn't such an issue for Shen because :
It is a nerf on "Attack-Speed Ratios". Then just buy less attack speed, don't get attack speed runes whatever. But this is not important. As I said, Riot can't nerf Shen to death, because his real strenght comes from his Ultimate and his E. And that cannot be removed, otherwise it would be too big of a change for Shen !
Stay happy, slaphappy :D
2/8/2013 HUGE UPDATE. Due to his nerfs, Shen has become a normal tank, with an incredible ultimate to make him a major threat when facing him in a game, even if you are not a toplaner.
I build Kages Lucky Pick again because I will somtimes get Twin Shadows if I dont need to deal damage.
3/7/2013 ==> After a quite long absence, I'm bqck on my guide, which has received dislikes :( Please explain, guys !
MASTER SHEN build added, I'll add a section about those 2 builds, when to build what and that kinda stuff later.
Itemization section reworked, summoner spell switched to ignite for Master, Teleport for Tank.
