Introduction

Welcome to my Darius guide. Here i build Darius as a tanky AD Bruiser.
Other roles Darius can also play:
Jungle
I play in the Singapore Server, and i always see people building [items/warmogs-armor.png]

as their first item, after boots. Do not do that. It doesnt give you armor nor magic resistance. Neither does it give any AD.
As Darius, you need to stay alive in teamfights long enough to dunk people.
If you have enough farm early game, you will own late game.

Masteries

I take 21/9/0 for my masteries. I put more points in AD than Defense. 9/21/0 can also work. I also put 4 points in CDR. This allows me to spam my Q and W often. CDR is also never bad for any champs, just consider whether its worth it to put 4 points into it.

Runes

My runes are pretty standard. It is similar/identical to AD Carry's runes.
I take flat AD quints and marks. You don't really need armor penetration runes as his [skills/darius/e.png]

gives percentage armor penetration.
Magic resist glyphs and armor blues are kinda standard.
MR/lvl instead of flat MR for glyphs is also good if u need more MR late game.

Summoner Spells

I take Ignite because Ignite works very well with his passive. It is like "double ignite". Ignite is also a pretty standard summoner in the game. One of the best summoners in the game. Ignite can be replaced by Exhaust.

I take Flash as it is the best summoner in the game. It allows you to escape and chase enemies. It is also a standard summoner in the game. Flash can also be replaced by Ghost, also one of the best summoners in the game.

Item Builds

I start with [items/boots-of-speed.png]

Very standard, nothing much to say.

Or you can just go [items/cloth-armor.png]

The cloth armor will then be built into a [items/wardens-mail.png]

, which will then be built into a [items/frozen-heart.png]

Let's start explaining my item build.

For core items i usually go for a [items/phage.png]

but if their AP is hard counter, you might wanna go for a [items/hexdrinker.png]

. I
choose [items/phage.png]

because it gives you AD and Health. There is also a slow chance. [items/hexdrinker.png]

gives you AD and
Magic resist. This is good sustain against the AP(s). [items/phage.png]

will then be built into a [items/frozen-mallet.png]

but if you got
[items/hexdrinker.png]

for a core item, build it into a [items/maw-of-malmortius.png]

I also get [items/dorans-blade.png]

and

for my core. I got [items/dorans-blade.png]

as the 5HP/auto attack,the additional 10 AD and 80 HP is great. These [items/dorans-blade.png]

shall be replaced by [items/guardian-angel.png]

and

is very good as the passive revives you after "death" and gives armor and magic resist. [items/randuins-omen.png]

gives you HP and armor, etc.

As for [items/the-brutalizer.png]

it is built into [items/the-black-cleaver.png]

This item gives you HP, cooldown reduction, armor penetration and AD. It is a very very good item. Almost every AD should get this.

[items/randuins-omen.png]

and

can be replaced by tanky OR tanky AD items. But i suggest keeping [items/guardian-angel.png]

Final Comments

Darius owns in the top lane.
Try out my build, my way of playing. Good luck in the battlefield.
