IntroductionSo, is eve still a viable jungle? I have been experimenting with her since the big nerf. I started playing this game after she was nerfed and nearly every ranked game I jungle as eve I always get the ole 'eve can't jungle anymore' at champion select. When the game is over, I'm usually worth 1000G unless I tried diving the fountain q=D
This is my first guide, enjoy!
JunglingThere's 2 ways to jungle.
Start at wraiths->golems->blue->wolves->red
This requires you to recall twice, the jungle clears in about 4:40. Recalls are after golems and wolves. Make sure to get 2-3 health potions and a mana potion before you head to red.
Start at blue->wolves->red->gank
Recall after wolves get 2 health potions and a mana potion, get red and gank.
Depending on what team comp you play verse some builds are better than others.
MasteriesThere are 2 ways for masteries. The masteries shown in this guide are the masteries I use if I'm playing vs gankable squishies. This allows eve to clear the jungle in about 4:35, however...I generally get Blue, wolves, Red and then start ganking(you can do this and gank a lane in under 4 minutes). You will be level 3. If this is the case, skill order is Q, W, E. If you decide to choose the masteries 1/19/10, your skill order will want to be Q,W,Q (more damage to kill red/blue since you will take more damage from reduced defense masteries).
RunesThere are many ways to utilize runes with different builds. I have found these runes to be one of the best sets to clear the jungle the fastest. Attack speed blues also work well, it's your preference.
Self explanatory, you cannot jungle without smite and you WILL feed if you do not have escapes. Ghost and Eve's ult is fantastic for escapes and speed. Vision wards are nothing if you have the awareness. You can ghost and ult in faster than they can hug their tower when ganking lanes. Ghost and Ult are great for escaping, as eve is an assasin, you can enter a fight, ulti, kill someone, your ulti is up again, use your ulti or ghost to escape. I find myself in teamfights where I'll get targeted first, I ghost away while an entire team will attempt to chase me down while my teammates kill them. You will get assist and stacks still. If you are roaming, I still prefer these summoners just because of the fact that you can steal the other team's jungle wild harassing and ganking lanes. This will put the other jungler behind, you can still get good farm and it will put the fear of god in the other jungler from counterjungling. As he/she will be risking their own life.
Skill OrderSee masteries, Q,W,E if you're ganking earily (lvl 3). If you're not going to gank at lvl 3, Q,W,Q allows you to clear your jungle faster.
Q is an aoe spell up to 2 targets. It will hit with maximum damage to one target while it will hit another target with a mitigated effect. When you stealth, you can open up with Q to stun multiple targets and then use your E for burst damage.
W is your stealth. Until you get your second level of stealth, the stealth ability is very short. This can make ganking difficult at the beginning of the game. If you're going to gank you cannot hesitate opening. This will take practice for new eve players but it's easy to get down.
E is a single target burst damage. It scales with a high ratio to AP.
R Ultimate. This increases eve's movement speed and attack speed. This is great for escapes, taking down towers or creeps very fast. (Roaming eve, bloodboil from nunu and double smite is a very early dragon and possibly towers). Also, you can use R to run into a lane very fast and open up on players that put down vision wards. Vision wards can be exploited very easily and will not stop a good eve from ganking a lane.
Early GameEve is very vulnerable in the jungle earily, if the other team has Clairevoyance, you will want to juke it. If your team doesnt protect your jungle, your late game will be delayed.
Eve's starting spots:
Blue or Wraths
Starting at blue:
You will live with about 10%-20% health. It is very important that your Q gets full damage on blue. You can achieve this if you Q the minion from the bush and wait for blue to enter the bush. You need to potion. Potion again as soon as the first potion runs out and start wolves. Recall, buy 3 more health potions, and go to red, Q red into the bush so your Q does full dmg on the lizard.
Also note, it is very important that you get maximum damage on blue and red with your Q. If you do not you will die. If you Q the small creep and run into the bush the golem and lizard will run closest to you and they will take maximum damage.
Mid Game20-30 minutes in the game you should be getting stacks or fed. You need to be careful and aware of vision wards. Eve's ult and ghost should be used as a speed tactic to move around the map at alarming rates to pick people off when they overextend. Map control is key. Push towers and stay ahead of the game. If you fail to do anything early game or mid game, your end game will be horrible and you will be a useless champion. Be aware of oracles, good players buy them early for early map control.
Late GameEve generally gets targeted first, you will have to deal with oracles all the time. Don't face check anything that isn't warded or partially warded, you must have a GA. If your early game has been going well you will be a force. Ghost and ulti are great for escaping teams. If you get targeted you can ghost out of a fight and kite people trying to kill you. Restealth and initiate again. You should be able to survive, pick off their squishies no problem.
Final CommentsPlaying eve is about harassing lanes and putting the other team behind. If that's not happening you will have problems late game. Get ganks early, be aware of wards, gank lanes when summoners are down, don't stay in the jungle all game. If you're not jungling, I still prefer smite/ghost. One of the best comps I've ever played with is jungling nunu/roaming eve. Gank lanes together and since eve's passive gives her ulti back after a kill, you can literally gank a lane and take a tower in 4mins with bloodboil+eve ult.
