Explaination

wriggles-lantern - Lifesteal, armor, damage and great passive! It will keep u alive in jungle and will allow u to clear it extremly quickly cause ur Q can proc it twice, it's great for baron/drag control and one free ward can be realy cute for mid player who doesnt want to ward jungle entrace.

wits-end - Realy good item, gives u aspd and magic damage per hit which procs twice on ur Q, mr stack bonus is great for early game survi, believe me it will save u many times and the damage output with it is great.

mercurys-treads or ninja-tabi - You have to choose which boots do u need, if enemy team has 2 APs or hard CC go for Merc, if they dont have so much CC and their AD carry is fed i would suggest to buy Ninja tabi.

frozen-mallet - Great item on shyvanna, it gives u 30% slow on autoattacks in my opinion its the only way to chase enemy carries since u dont have any CC urself, MUST be item.

atmas-impaler - Some armor, crit and good synergy with ur Mallet and other hp items. Here is nothing interesting to say about this item.

warmogs-armor - NO, simply say no to warmogs on Shyv. Frozen mallet is far superior to it for Shyvanna thanks to it's slow even when it gives some less hp than Warmog.


trinity-force - If game is going easy, u are getting fed and u have nice amount of gold then feel free to buy trinity, it will make u MELT all enemies in no time.

force-of-nature - Great item, far superior for Shyv than banshee since u dont have mana. It gives you bonus moving speed and great hp regen. Realy good item vs heavy AP teams.

maw-of-malmortius - THIS ITEM IS GREAT, ad, magic resist and shield for magic. MUST BE vs heavy ap teams.

quicksilver-sash - It can be useful if u are getting focused with Suppres, taunts or other CC's but i think it's usualy not needed. Situational item.

randuins-omen - Good item, it's use with ur passive is working great but i think there are better items for shyv. If u realy like this, then here's nothing wrong with it on shyv.

guardian-angel - Dying too quickly or too often? Feel free to grab GA.

aegis-of-the-legion - If your support isnt going to build it, u can do it urself it's not bad on Shyv and u will help out ur team with a great item.
Introduction
Hello my ingame nick is Kombajn grozy and this is how I am playing effectively Shyvana.
I found out Shyvana is realy good champion with potential and playing her is so much fun, i will teach you how to win with our reptile. Remember about items, always pick set which is the best against opponents u meet, if they have 2AP pick more MR, if they have 2+Ad pick armor, if they have more AD but fed AP pick mixed, always think about items you should buy, dont change core items.

Early/Mid/Late game
Early Game

In early game you should be realy agressive, use ur speed, red buff and keep ganking, u can try camping on bush near red buff and steal it + get an easy kill on opponents jungler.
  • High damage +
  • Good ganks +
  • Quick jungle +
  • A little squishy -
  • No real escape mechanism -

Mid Game

This is where teamfights starts, u should try to go ahead of ur opponents and push them back with ur ulti on ur teams to let them demolish enemies, it would work great with all champions with cc like amumu, galio and others. U should stik to enemies carries or def yours, i have to decide after seeing how games going.

Late Game

In late game you should focus on defending ur carries/jumping on enemies carries and shutting them down it depends on how ur engages goes and who is beign focused by enemies, you should have enough damage to take AD/AP carry down with out problems and ur items set let u survive trough whole teamfight. Remember to use ur ulti well, positioning is realy important.
Jungling
Blue team

Level 1.

  • Start with [items/cloth-armor.png][items/health-potion5.png] Or [items/boots-of-speed.png][items/health-potion3.png]
  • Kill blue buff golem [summoners/smite.png],
  • Move to Wolves.
  • Autoattack + [skills/shyvana/q.png] big one to maximize damage.

Move to Wraiths.
  • Autoattack + [skills/shyvana/q.png] big one to maximize damage.

Move to double golems
  • Autoattack + [skills/shyvana/q.png] to maximize damage.
  • [items/health-potion.png] Should still be in ur EQ.
  • Go back, buy [items/boots-of-speed.png][items/health-potion.png]

Move to red buff.
  • Autoattack + [skills/shyvana/q.png] to maximize damage, use [summoners/smite.png] on lizard.

Start looking for a gank.

Purple team:

  • Move to wraiths
  • Autoattack + [skills/shyvana/q.png] to maximize damage
  • Move to red
  • Autoattack + [skills/shyvana/q.png] to maximize damage

And u are ready to gank top or mid, if u fail then keep jungling, give 1st blue to ur ap carry, it will realy help him to win lane and u might not need to go mid anymore.
Skills
[skills/shyvana/p.png] Passive: Fury of the Dragonborn

Shyvana's melee attacks enhance her abilities.

Twin Bite - Reduces the cooldown by 0.5 seconds.
Burnout - Extends the duration by 1 second to a maximum of 6 seconds.
Flame Breath - Deals 15% of the ability's damage to debuffed targets.
Dragon's Descent - Attacks generate 2 Fury and Shyvana gains 1 Fury every 1.5 seconds while in human form.


Explanation:


Incredible passive, lowers cooldown on Twin Bite every hit, this is why we pick attack speed runes and we rush wits end, burnout gets extended by 1 second every each hit (max o 6 seconds), it makes chasing so much easier with our [items/frozen-mallet.png].



[skills/shyvana/q.png] Q: Twin Bite

Next auto attack hits twice, second hit deals 80 / 85 / 90 / 95 / 100 % of total attack damage
Dragon Form: second hit deals aoe damage in front of her

Dragon Form: Twin Bite cleaves all units in front Shyvana.

Cooldown 10/9/8/7/6 seconds


Explanation:


It applies on hit effects, like Wit's end, Lantern and Phage.



[skills/shyvana/w.png] W: Burnout

Shyvana deals 25 / 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 (+20% of bonus attack damage) magic damage per second to nearby enemies and moves 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 % faster for 3 seconds. Shyvana's Movement Speed bonus is reduced over time.

Dragon Form: Burnout scorches the earth, continuing to damage enemies that stand on it.

Cooldown 12 seconds


Explanation:



This is our bread and butter, no one can run away from us, incredible ganks with red cause of high moving speed and exhaust, aoe damage and low cooldown when passive procs.

Shyvana unleashes a fireball that deals 80 / 125 / 170 / 215 / 260 (+60% of ability power) magic damage and burns 15% of their armor for 4 seconds.

Dragon Form: Flame Breath engulfs all units in a cone in front of her.

Cooldown 12/11/10/9/8 seconds


Explanation:


This is realy good skill, i max it as 2nd skill - AoE armor reduction + massive damage boost. Practice hitting this with out ulti on customs and then u will be killing machines on rankeds.


[skills/shyvana/r.png] R: Dragon's Descent

Active: Shyvana transforms into a dragon and takes flight to a target location. Enemies along her path take 200 / 300 / 400 (+70% of ability power) magic damage and are knocked toward her target location.

Passive: Shyvana reinforces her scales, increasing her Armor and Magic Resist by 15/20/25. Defensive bonuses are doubled in Dragon Form.

Cost 6 fury a second and max fury to activate


Explanation:


Try to use this skills knock back in the best way it is posible, the positioning is the most important. U can go infront of enemies and knock them back into ur team or knock them away from them to save some1. It can be used to do ganks trough walls like lee sin and shaco can do. In one word, awesome skill.

This skill is insane, it gives:

[skills/shyvana/q.png] Cleave damage in front of us.
[skills/shyvana/w.png] Leaves path of flame which is dealing damage (like corkis valkyria).
[skills/shyvana/e.png] AoE in front of u + armor reduction.



Summoner Spells
[summoners/smite.png] Faster jungling, counter jungle, stealing barons and dragons.
[summoners/exhaust.png] As u have build in flash via ulti and u are incredibly quick because of ur [skills/shyvana/w.png] i pick exhaust for early ganks, thanks to it u can shut down enemies ad carry in mid/late game.
[summoners/flash.png] If u are not feeling comfortable with exhaust, this is a good option too.

Quintesence

3x Attack speed - it allows us to spam Q thanks to incredible passive.

Marks

6x Armor pentaration - this is amount u need to do effectively jungle 3x aspd - the same as quints

Seals

9x Armor - Obviously to not die in jungle, survi.

Glyphs

9x Attack speed - the same as quints.
This rune set allows us to clear jungle quickly and gives us realy nice damage output with mostly survi items.

  • It will help u to clear jungle quickly with optimizing ur damage in teamfights/ganks, u can consdier going for CDR+MPEN because ur W and ULT are magic dmg, but in my opinion AD bonuses are better since ur most damage goes from auto attacks.

  • If you wanna use this mastery page, then you will be realy much more tankier, and ur jungle will be safer but you might miss some damage on ganks, and u wont be able to counterjungle so quickly and u might be cought in enemies jungle. 21/9/0 Are best option in my opinion.
Jungle Matchups
[champ/alistar.png]

Alistar is powerful ganker at level 2 and its 99% chance he will go and do it , u should use this chance and steal his wraiths and red buff. Avoid fighting him because he can CC until his team comes to kill you.

[champ/drmundo.png]

Mundo is realy quick jungler with a slow skill shoot, he has realy high damage output early game, dont try counterjungling him and avoid fighting or u will be dead, u cant run away from him. U can try to steal his wolves and blue since he starts on red, but dont go in his jungle with out wards.

[champ/leesin.png]

Quick jungler, good ganker and strong duelist - Dont fight him, even when u have exhaust up he can kite u to death with his dashes and slows. You can try counter junging him, but dont go easy on him and use wards or u will be a dead dragon.

[champ/warwick.png]

He has realy good sustain in jungle but his clear time is realy low, u can steal his jungle and try dueling him because u are stronger in early game, his power is lvl 6 so try to delay it as much as you can.

[champ/gangplank.png]

Weak jungler with bad clear time, take his wraiths and red. You can try dueling with him but you should wait until he uses orange so he cant purge ur exhaust.

[champ/nocturne.png]

Steal his jungle and buffs, use wards and avoid fighting he is realy strong 1v1 champion thanks to fear, bonus AD and MS from Q and spell shield with ASPD.

    This guide is definitely one of the few out at the moment worth the time to read (which isn't much for that matter, very short and to the point :P)

    Personally I've had great luck going more into the defense tree than offense, but I think that's more a personal preference and play style than much else XD... I also agree with Koreuz about the 1gp/10 talent though, don't get me wrong more money is always nice but it amounts to something like 360g over an hour long game which (as fast as Shyvana can jungle) doesn't seem worth it. D: At the same time there's not many places where 1 point makes a whole lot of difference anyway so might as well pay for some wards I guess...

    Hope that as some time passes and more options have been explored you come back and turn this into an even better guide :D
